Tip: Go earlier in the day, as they tend to sell out of popular flavors. Don't hesitate to ask the staff questions about the donuts.

The Art of Donut is such a lovely little shop and easily one of the most fun sweet treats in the city. I stopped by for Valentine’s Day because my kids absolutely love their donuts and it felt like the perfect excuse to make it a special outing. The display alone is worth the visit. Every donut has a creative name and personality, and they’re almost too cute to eat. I picked up a beautiful love donut that was literally the size of my face, a strawberry sour cream donut that was rich and perfectly balanced, and a fruity pebbles donut that was playful and nostalgic in the best way. Each one tasted as good as it looked, which isn’t always the case with decorative donuts, but here they absolutely deliver. I also ordered a Nutella latte with oat milk, and it was honestly one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while. Smooth, flavorful, and indulgent without being overly sweet. The shop itself has such a cute and polished vibe with neon signs, high bar tables, and a fun, modern feel that makes you want to linger. What really stood out beyond the donuts was the atmosphere and the people. Everyone working there was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made the experience even better. This place feels special without trying too hard. If you love creative donuts and great coffee, The Art of Donut is absolutely worth the visit.
Easy 5 stars. We really liked the wide variety of donuts, and the coffee was great. There’s so much on the menu that I’d recommend viewing it online before you go.
Very good donuts with all kind of delicious flavors.
They have the best donuts in town, no competition! Different flavors, seasonal.
Fun little spot with some great donuts. Everything was fresh and delicious!
All great things!! Donuts after ballet class are my kiddos fav part of the weekend. The breakfast sandwich and lattes are always very good and fast! Service is always friendly and makes the day so great. Thank you all for a fun family place to go in the morning ❤️
Amazing donuts! You can really tell they’re made to order, super fresh, soft, and full of flavor. Love supporting a local business that cares about quality. Also, try the breakfast sandwiches!
Coffee Shop No. 513 The Art of the Donut San Antonio, TX June 10, 2025 An unexpected place to be served a truly delicious cortado! After spending the afternoon with some awesome kiddos and their mom, we decided to wrap things up with donuts. From my research, I expected to find fun, unique donut flavors—and those did not disappoint. But the real surprise? A perfectly crafted cortado. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
It’s all about the dough. A donut is only as good as is dough and The Art of Donut is doing it right! We tried the “Sweet Pig” (Maple Bacon) , “Sweet Pecan” and the “Dubai Chocolate” donut. The Sweet Pig is a perfect balance of that sweet maple syrup flavor you love and the salty/savory bacon bite you need. The Sweet pecan was absolutely delicious, it was not overly sweet and if you like pecans you’ll love this donut. The Dubai Chocolate donut was not my favorite but if you are in the mood for something different and unique this donut is for you.
Good to stop on the way to the zoo. Had the wake-up with by the way was so simple but yet good. Good size donuts and the coffee. I haven't been the greatest about picking what I want. But the staff was super friendly and understanding and helpful. Shout out to this place thanks for making our spring vacation that much more enjoyable.
YES!!! We found our donut spot!!!!!! Ever since I left Colorado Springs and Amy's donuts (I'm 2019!!!), I've been on the search for delicious, gourmet/craft donuts. My search has ended!!! I've only had 2 donuts so far: the vanilla with strawberry icing and The Unicorn, and both were fantastic!! Light, airy, and just perfectly sweet (not overbearing and feeling like I'm going to become hyperglycemic haha). Also, the staff were SO pleasant!!! That's always appreciated when you feel welcomed. It's going to be our regular treat! Can't wait to come back with the whole family.
If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, this place is for you! These donuts are so deliciously sweet! They have the most creative menu that gets you to explore your tastebuds. Love the display of their donuts so you can really get curious just beyond the words of the menu. Ask questions! The staff are so kind and helpful. We drive all the way across town for this place and always will!
This place is so cute! I pulled over when I saw it, about 12:30 on a Wednesday. They were almost sold out but I was still able to get a unicorn, lavender citrus, and Nutella donut. Service was quick and friendly; REALLY good quality donut. Like I would straight up just eat the donut without frosting. HECKIN good 10/10.
This cute little place have a sweetness inside! We went here twice unfortunately the first time they sold all the available donuts which gave us an impression. Went back the next day. They have wide variety of donuts you can choose from, either you have sweet tooth or none they can probably cater your taste. The creativity of the donut was fun to look at too, a good place for kids and kid at heart. We asked for recommendation and they gave us Mr. O (Oreo) and strawberry match (i like matcha so it all worked out). The DOUGH was indeed better than other donut I’ve been to here in San Antonio, TX - it is soft and I think even you reheat it, it won’t feel dry. While the flavor of the donuts we had was lackluster for us we tasted the sweetness but aside from that there is little to none taste of the matcha, strawberry or oreo. Service was good, they will help you out, especially with picking the right flavor for you. The place was neat and only have indoor sitting. I would still go back to try other flavor and their drinks. (First time customer perspective)
Visited on a Monday around noon. The place was clean. Ladies were friendly and very helpful being it was my first time there. They have a great variety of donuts. The taste as far as donut itself was ok. They were soft and a little cool. I thought they would be a little warm. The flavors were good. A bit expensive but worth a try.
Update. Making a weak response deflecting the issue where you cannot plan to cover your business is just sad. 12:30? Seriously? And the your posted store hours are incorrect? It is pretty easy to tape over the false hours on your window. The amateur hour stuff is just made more tragic by not owning the fail. But hey...its your ego. Not mine. I understand hours being from 7-3 or until sold out. Even if the Google hours don't match the store window hours. 🙄...But being closed at 12:30? If you can't have food to sell in your basic hours...or if you run out HALFWAY through the day? You are doing something wrong. Won't be back.
When they first opened they were so nice and have such a bad attitude now. I recently ordered the birthday donut to be delivered and I made a simple request and it was wrong. My instructions were simple. “Only 3 bday cake flavor donuts The A in Happy and the RT in Birthday can they be the birthday cake flavor. The rest cinnamon sugar please. Thanks.” It was overpriced, but since he likes the sugar donuts there, I made the purchase. It was the only request I made. I bought the simplest donuts too. It was suppose to spell out ART. Not ATH. Thanks for ruining the birthday surprise. 😒 Also, I did reach out by email prior to this post. No response though.
