Such a vibe from the moment you walk in! The food was amazing, tried a sushi ceviche which I had never heard of before and loved. Service was friendly, definitely coming back!

Will was our waiter and he was amazing! He has great taste when it came to wine and the dinner options. He sold us on a wine called Stags leap and the Romeo and Juliet sushi and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting and nice relaxing upscale sushi restaurant.

Jasmine was amazing at guiding us through our meal and recommending the tuna tower, it was delicious! We had just about every roll on the menu, and I could go back for seconds. The bar has some great options for cocktails, my favorites the ringo reyna, and kora kiss! Will be back asap!

We tried the Ahi Tuna tower, the Miso soup, a shrimp roll and the Lobster roll recommended by our waitress! Everything tasted delicious and we plan on coming back soon! ***update*** We came back for dinner a few days later and again was a 10/10 we ordered mostly the same except instead of the Lobster roll we got the kara! Wow!

Went during lunch was only one other table there so the service was pretty quick and server was friendly and recommended some rolls. Both were really good one on fire is The White Dragon roll and the other one was the A-shin-gao roll, and there’s the dreamcore sashimi

Chilling with friends at Uni'Ko is one of my favorite spots at the Eilan area in San Antonio! The Sushi is amazing here! I had the Sushi Tower and, of course, a Moscow Mule (W/Lavender)! My friend had and Eel roll a the Romeo & Juliet roll with chicken fried rice and seaweed salad! Fun night! If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out!

Didn't eat on this visit, just cocktails. Beautiful space, great staff, great vibes. This is a classy and expensive place. Come here to treat yourself, show off and enjoy a swanky lounge with fancy menu. Will be back!!!

The Sushi and Nigiri were perfect. The server was wonderful and very helpful in helping us pick out our dishes. The decor is okay but some of their tableware and the actual menus need to be freshened up. Overall a very satisfying meal and experience since it was our first time.

Uni'ko offers a truly unique experience. From the decor to the food, this definitely made for a memorable lunch. As a party of 2, we were seated quickly which was a pleasant surprise for a Saturday. As a starter, we ordered the beef sashimi. The dish included several strips of raw meat on a plate and a separate hot stone to cook the meat. The meat was so tender and very tasty. This appetizer is not to be missed, but be sure to place all the meat on the stone as soon as possible to ensure the beef cooks before the stone cools too much. We also ordered two sushi rolls which took quite a while to come out, but we're worth the wait. The Romeo and Juliette roll was served on a long plate with fire (and possibly sugar) along side it. This made for a somewhat room temperature roll but was still very delicious. It included salmon and was topped with spicy tuna. The salmon was partially cooked from the heat of the fire, which added to the flavor. The roll was delicious but also very spicy. The other roll we ordered was the Kani which was a little more basic but also very good. The shrimp was very small, even for shrimp, but overall was fine. The seaweed salad was pretty good too. It was a little spicy but also very tasty.

We were wanting to celebrate for my brothers birthday while we were in town and I did a lot of research before choosing this place. Let me just say, we were BLOWN AWAY! 1. Stellar service, our server Rebekah was so attentive and made us feel super comfortable and gave our experience that extra wow factor. 2. The sushi- omg amazing! The tastes and different flavor profiles from the different rolls we got were just such a treat. I was so happy that we loved each roll that we ordered. So fresh and delicious! 3. The location. I did not expect this beautiful apartment complex that reminds me of a resort almost like Atlantis in the Bahamas. You can take a stroll beforehand and take pictures and then after dinner walk around too. The only thing is that the restaurant is a bit small so not that much space and it was kind of hot inside. But honestly that didn’t take away from our amazing experience. I will not stop raving about this place and would recommend to anybody looking for a special place to have high quality sushi!

I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday since she loves sushi. I also heard this place was good from friends and thought that I needed to try this place. The must to start off with is the Ahi Tuna Tower!!! The presentation of it looks so nice that you don't want to eat it but mixing it all together was fantastic. The Two Kings roll is a must to order!!! It was probably one of the best rolls that we ordered if not the best. The other rolls that we ordered were fantastic as well. It is a little pricy but that is based on the area as well. But the sushi and the food was really good and would recommend this place

The options were limited for dining as we were guests of the hotel. We decided to try this place for our last dinner in town. We were definitely underwhelmed by everything we ordered except the softshell crab, which was delicious! The interior was beautiful and the service was perfect. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong things.

I visited this sushi restaurant on a busy Friday night without a reservation, but was promptly seated at the sushi bar. While the service leaned toward the slower end, it gave me time to browse the menu in detail. As someone who typically prefers nigiri, I was impressed by the quality of the rolls. One standout detail was the fresh gourmet wasabi served, much better than the cheap green paste that is usually cut with horseradish. It added a genuine kick to each sushi bite. The saba (mackerel) was also highlight—bold with that strong fish flavor; strong like sardines but much better tasting. If you’re not a fan of intense seafood, this might not be for you, but for me, it was excellent. The uni (sea urchin) sourced from Santa Barbara, CA was nice, though it came with a premium price tag, which is understandable given the long journey to reach the plate. While it didn’t quite match the sweetness of the Uni I’ve enjoyed in Santa Barbara, it was still a treat. The one disappointment was the absence of ginger, which one typically uses to cleanse the palate between the different cuts of fish. That said, the cocktail I ordered was perfectly balanced and a complement to the meal. For a place that is land locked, the sushi didn't disappoint.

My wife and I had a great experience at UniKo. We were greeted immediately upon entering. However, it was not very busy. Sushi is one of our favorite meals and this sushi did not disappoint. The sushi was very fresh and the presentation was excellent for the Two Kings roll with the flame. We started off our dinner with spicy edamame and a seaweed salad. For our main course we had the fried rice, Tono roll, Firecracker roll, and the Two Kings roll. The fried rice is one of my favorites and any Asian Establishment. With this rice, it was one of those, don’t judge a book by its cover because looking at it, it appeared it would be very bland. It was not at all and had great flavor. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Thank you Liya for our Anniversary dessert. The only downside to our visit were the chairs, the chairs appeared to be old and wore out and no bottom support. Service - 5 Atmosphere - 5 Cleanliness - 4 Food - 5 Management - N/A Price - 4

Food wasn’t that great tbh. It’s over priced and subpar quality and taste. The miso soups was probably the best. I had miso soup, chicken fried rice, beef yakitori, the select roll and and a Hanataki plate (idk if I spelled it correctly) Beef in the yakitori was so dry and chewy I just sent it back. It was not very flavorful either. Chicken in the fried rice was a bit dry too. The fried rice overall was flavorless as well. Could use more butter, salt, and some umami. And maybe a different style of rice. Rice was a long grain. Personally I prefer short grain rice for fried rice. The hanataki plate wasn’t bad. I picked off the jalepeños and cilantro but that’s a personal preference of mine. I didn’t want the seeds of the jalepenos and the cilantro to overwhelm the dish. The sashimi itself was decent quality. A bit on the tangy side but I like tangy flavors a lot. Probably the second best dish. Had I stopped at the miso soup and this one I might’ve left satisfied but because I decided to try a variety of the rest I left disappointed and $95 less. The roll was meh. 😑 The sushi rice was dry. Seems to be a trend at the place. Everything is dry and lacking flavor. There are other places better than this place. Umiya is better than this place. At least they’re a bit fresher and have more flavor and way cheaper. The service was good and the restaurant itself is beautiful and located in a great spot. The food is subpar. Will not be back again. It’s out of my way to begin with and I was trying a new spot so it’s off my list of places to try. It’s on my list of places to never go back to now tho.

To sum up my experience: good service, elevated atmosphere, presentation and price but food is mediocre. I came for dinner on a Tuesday night around 7:30. The dining room is small with around 10 tables and a small 4 seat sushi bar(service for around 35-40 people). They also have outdoor seating on the terrace with nice landscaping near a fountain. The decor is modern and the music sounds like Asian dance groove. I had no trouble getting a table right away. I ordered the spicy edamame, mixed green salad, Vegetarian teppenyaki, hot tea, and chocolate ganache cake. The salad was a good size for the price and beautifully presented but it was swimming in this spicy dressing- only order of you love wasabi. The teppenyaki came with steamed or fried rice surrounded by vegetables. The flavor left something to be desired and I didn’t feel the portion was a good value for the price. I think the dish could be improved by adding tofu. The hot tea was a stash green tea bag and the chocolate ganache cake tasted stale. I never received the edamame but was still charged for it. The server was very nice about removing it from the bill. The bottom line: it was acceptable but I wouldn’t come back.

Awful bottle service, this has to be the worst I’ve ever experienced. They don’t take the bottle to your table, also you have to go to the bar yourself to ask for ice refills. Prices are higher than other bottle services around, and they charge a 20% “big party fee” (8 people) + tip. Yeah no thanks, didn’t even want to order another round. On the good side the music is good

Not worth it. The quality of the fish was great but not worth the extra price. Double what you would pay at most decent sushi places. Avo-Bake was all rice and sesame oil. Barely any avocado at all. The hot sake was barely luke warm. House salad was mostly wilted greens and tasted bad. The price they ask for what is basically a side order or fried rice is crazy. Though it tasted pretty good. At the end of the day, if you want my opinion, go somewhere else.

Extremely Disappointed We were seated and left waiting for nearly 10 minutes without so much as a greeting, menu, or acknowledgment. When we finally asked for menus, the hostess questioned whether we’d entered through the front , which we had and still, no one returned to assist us. A few minutes later, another waiter suddenly informed us that they couldn’t serve us because the sushi area was “understaffed,” even though another couple had just been seated right after us. The manager initially assured us he’d handle the situation, only to return and say the head chef refused to serve us because we were supposedly “rude” to the hostess, which is completely false. This was one of the most unprofessional and disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. The situation was handled poorly from start to finish, and the lack of accountability was unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the service was disappointing, and the chirashi bowl was even worse — completely lacking in flavor, color, and creativity. The fish wasn’t fresh, and some pieces even had an unpleasant smell. We couldn’t address it with the waitstaff as they were practically nonexistent. No Japanese or Asian pickles, no floral touches, no masago — just plain sliced fish over rice with a bit of wasabi relish. Oddly, they even served a bed of rice with a dumpling as filler. The teppanyaki was equally underwhelming, with no flavor at all; I had to add soy sauce, ponzu, and chili just to make it somewhat palatable. Definitely not worth the visit.

Uni’Ko Japanese Lounge – Disappointing Experience We visited Uni’Ko Japanese Lounge in San Antonio today, February 24, for lunch, and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had at a so-called Japanese restaurant. From the moment we walked in, there was a strong sewer smell that immediately set a bad tone for the meal. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. We started with a miso soup, which arrived lukewarm at best—not the comforting, hot soup we expected. Then, we ordered the Sunomono cucumber with octopus, but the octopus was so rubbery and chewy that we had to send it back to the kitchen. Shockingly, they still charged us for it at the end of the meal. For sushi, we ordered two rolls and requested the usual accompaniments: ginger and wasabi. The waitress informed us they had no ginger—which is unheard of in a sushi restaurant, especially one charging $39 per roll. Then, when the wasabi arrived, it was nothing like actual wasabi—it looked more like chimichurri (see picture). To add insult to injury, they charged us $3 for this so-called wasabi! The combination of bad food, terrible service, a disgusting smell, and high prices makes this place a complete waste of time and money. I would never return, and I strongly suggest you avoid this place if you value good sushi and decent service. Final Verdict: Overpriced, overrated, and unacceptable.
