The food is delicious, the service is excellent, all the girls are very sweet and give you good recommendations. The atmosphere is great and the atmosphere very familiar recommended 100 out of 100 😉
The food tastes really good, you can get some jalapeno poppers that are as big as your thumb, the burgers are really good too as well as the rest of their food, they have a ton of drinks on tap, a lot to choose from. Help yourself to this nice restaurant.
Small town, so very homey feel. Food was delicious-I had the skirt steak sandwich. Went with family and everyone enjoyed their food! Highly recommend!
Best ribeye ever! Great service and friendly and fun atmosphere! We call it the Cowboy Bar when we are taking guests and they are never disappointed. We are locals and it is one of our favorite places to eat!
My dad liked their steaks and I personally love their chicken Cesar salad. The rustic feel makes the experience all that much better.
My delicious dinner started with a Apricot Wheat Ale! Awesome! I ate a Rib Eye Steak M/R, Broccoli, Ultimate Baked Potato and really good garlic bread!
Great Atmosphere, the burgers and appetizers my family ordered were absolutely delicious. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend, We'll be back no doubt!
Among historic locations in San Benito County the 19th hole is an homage to the days of cowboys when 19 watering holes were stretched between King City and Hollister it is a beautifully restored Western historic bar and restaurant with amazing food great skirt steak great service and fair priced items
Great food and reasonably priced. Fabulous bar and awesome vibe
Great restaurant and great, friendly service. The food is excellent and well prepared, even the broccoli was delicious. There are usually some beautiful Motorcycles to look at as well!
Cool venue! Hot waitresses! Jeeeezus. Im slowly giving up on meat but I did try the 16oz ribeye which I only eat 1/4 of because I felt stuffed so quick, it was a delicious steak thou but I really feel in better health if I limit my meat consumption to a minimum or none.
We had the burgers. They are big enough to share, so you can order appetizers to explore the menu. 5 stars on food and drinks
Great service! Highly recommend the Ribeyes M.Rare w mushrooms and onions. Good about social distancing - outdoor patio dining only. Becoming one of my favorite spots.
Loved the ambience! One street Cowboy Town, quaint eatery out of nowhere! Great food, good service! Keep it up! Steaks and burgers, best to go for...
The ribeye, location, wait staff are all amazing! Beer selection was great! Cocktails and side dishes were just ok! Overall the most important things to me were stellar
A great local bar and restaurant to visit after the Pinnacles National Park. The food is great, especially the steak. It has a great western theme look and feel.
Love the ribeye. From Chicago and appreciate a good steak. If you want to go lighter try the SLK salad with skirt steak. The Chicken Hole Club is also amazing!
Awesome place for dinner after hike in pinnacles east entrance. They accommodated 17 of us and service was quick. Very good service. Food was definitely tasty. One of the juiciest meat I ever had.
This place was off the charts. We ate here after the rodeo event on June 30th. The food was great and the vibe and atmosphere was perfect! The Cowboy Burger was cooked as ordered. Thanks guys and we'll be back!
Super friendly staff. Good crowd. True saloon style and good steaks bought locally. Definately recommend especially if you are looking for a change from your typical California digs.
My favorite restaurant in the area! Highly recommend the ribeye and the hard rider burger. We've been here several times and yes the last time the wait time was a longer than usual BUT the food, service, and atmosphere is outstanding.
This place is surely one of the better restaurants in Hollister/San Benito County. The Tri-tip steak was amazing. We were at the bar for Valentine and everything was perfect. Staffs are very friendly and willing to help with everything.
For being a small town, Tres Pinos has some uncharacteristically good restaurants and this is no exception. It's great that you can go here for the bar or food and there's a really distinct separation between the two so you can pick what you're looking for. The food has always been well worth it, especially the burgers.
I arrived late, as they were closing. The staff made the extra effort to make sure that myself along with my guest were still fed a gourmet meal. The chief did a remarkable job with the steaks that were served to perfection!!!!!
This is one of my favorite places to visit when in the area, you can't go wrong with skirt steak or the prime rib. Both are fantastic options. If your not hungry the bar is a nice place to grab a drink. Highly recommended
I spent a dinner here with my family, it was really delicious. The server was very nice and answered any of the questions I had. My friend order the bloody Mary, after seeing and tasting it, I wish I did as well. This is also one of my brothers favorite spots. I enjoyed going here and ordering a steak. The New York steak was amazing and cooked well 😄
So good we went back! Excellent staff...Bailey was bartending the first night, Stephanie the second...both outstanding. The restaurant was very busy and the rail packed. They served all guests efficiently while interacting with each. The food was amazing... rib eyes both nights. Everything was fresh and hot. Owner visited with us a bit as did other waitstaff. We felt very welcome and would stop again if we weren't leaving town. Merry Christmas to a really great group of people! 🎄💚
19 th hole in my opinion is overall a very underrated Restaurant. The food is always well prepared and cooked to order . Had a Ribeye and it was better then some of the 80$ plus Ribeye's I've had at more popular Restaurants. If you enjoy small Country atmosphere Restaurants this is the place to go. The Service was great and the staff was very friendly. I would rank this a high 8 on a scale of 10. 👍
Excellent food and service ..consistently! Someone really needs to remind drivers of the 35 mph speed limit in front of restaurant ..before someone is splattered into the pavement crossing the road to their car....I wont even attempt it unless absolutely NO VEHICLES within eyesite... We ate outside today...I bet not one car drove under 60 mph ...even people at other table were shocked. I know this isn't the fault of the Steakhouse... Just thought someone should hear it..
This is a great place (and one of the only places) to eat in Tres Pinos. We were very impressed by the burgers. Enormous and juicy and delicious. Lava cake was also amazing. Gets pretty crowded on weekends, but we never waited more than a few minutes for a table.
Great place. Went to the 19th hole for a celebration dinner. I ordered a rib eye, my wife ordered the tri tip. Both steaks were cooked as ordered. The portions were ample. The meat was minimally seasoned, leaving room for additional seasoning if desired. An appetizer, dinner for two, a couple of drinks, and dessert ran us about $100. Given the quality of the food, the good service and the atmosphere we felt it was worth it.
My favorite restaurant in San Benito County. It never disappoints. I think I had just about every item on the menu and they are all so good. I love theirs salads. The SLK is not to be treated lightly it is a full un meal that is so good. The steaks are perfectly cooked a delicious.
I had dinner with friends here a few nights ago and enjoyed a wonderful meal and fantastic, friendly service. Three of us had the delicious Caesar salad with skirt steak. The steak was plentiful and perfectly grilled - so flavorful! Others had the ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection - juicy and flavorful. It's fun to go somewhere with a long-standing history and the feeling of a cowboy bar. I highly recommend the 19th Hole!
I remember this place from years ago. It was a neighborhood dive. A rathole with some rustic old west charm. I'm happily giving it 5 stars because the new owners have done what I wouldn't have thought possible. It's thoroughly charming and rustic, yet clean and bright. I haven't had the pleasure of eating there but people who would know tell me the food is very good. It's a lovely old building (a historical landmark) that has been faithfully and lovingly restored. The tables outside are just right on a hot afternoon or evening.
Great steaks and great atmosphere. Lovely barmaids. Please don't go there, I like to be able to walk in anytime and sit at the bar. I do miss the old lady that ran it years ago as just a bar. It was delightfully divey in those days.
Sitting here at the 19th Hole as a first timer and waiting for my Rib eye steak dinner. ($29.95) I see other others being serviced n there meals look real good n smell good. The dinner salad I just had was a 5 out of 10 being the best. Just finished dinner n it was all good. Total dinner I rate at 8 and 10 being the best. Service I rate at a 9 or maybe 10. I'll be back.
Extremely good steak, got the ribeye and was not disappointed in the slightest. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Love the atmosphere, the waitress kept the waters full, and the sides were immaculate.
Staff was amazing! Came in for an early dinner and witnessed the staff handle some irrationally upset man with a lot of professionalism. He stormed off thankfully. Went on to have a WONDERFUL steak and the best drinks in Tres Pinos. My wife and I will be back as regulars! A+ to the manager and staff, and I’m so sorry I forgot my waitress name but you did GREAT!
The food here is incredible! I recently celebrated my birthday there with 15 people. The food came out fast and delicious. If you are lucky enough you will have Danielle as your server. She provides exceptional service!!!
Its such an incredible vibe there! The decor is amazing. I ordered the jalapeño poppers, and the hard rider burger,it's the best burger ive had in 3000 miles!
The just amazing skirt steak. Tender smoked delicious. Excellent service
Amazing food and atmosphere! Steaks, salads, burgers and sandwiches are all on point - never had a bad meal. Prices are very reasonable - they give you alot of food. Service is always excellent, as well. 1800s authentic saloon....what's cooler than that?
Worth the stop if you're in the area. Service, ambience, and food were great. We went for early dinner, anticipating that it would be popular on a Saturday night and am glad we did...there was a small crowd waiting when we left. The drinks and food all came out quickly with minimal wait time. Ordered the skirt steak and tri tip. Both were excellent, but the skirt steak is so tasty that it's hard to beat. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Will go back again next time.
We stopped in on a Friday evening with a party of five (plus a little one), and if there’s one takeaway for first-time visitors, it’s that timing matters. We arrived just before 5:00 PM and were seated within a couple of minutes—very likely grabbing one of the last available tables before the dinner rush kicked in. Within minutes the place was full. Our server greeted us in under five minutes, which was perfectly reasonable considering how quickly the dining room filled up. Service remained steady throughout the meal despite the crowd, and the kitchen did a solid job keeping orders moving. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time for a busy Friday night. The portions were generous, everything came out hot, and the flavors were satisfying across the table. The rustic atmosphere adds to the charm and makes it a comfortable place to settle in for a casual meal. Overall, it was a smooth experience with good food, solid service, and an inviting setting. Pro tip: arrive a little before the rush if you want to minimize your wait. Based on this visit, I’d gladly come back.
Such a great spot for grilled food. Everything was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and very reasonably priced. You can really taste the quality of the meat. On top of that, the staff is awesome: friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.
The BEST fries I’ve ever had without doubt. They were perfect. The atmosphere was super cool, a real and historic saloon. Big portion sizes and really good food.
This place is a must eat. We ate there the first time after hiking Pinnacles national park in July 2018 and thought the food just tasted better because we were hungry and burnt out. But we have returned every single time were near the Monterey/Pinnacles area and it's just as amazing. By far the best steaks, to the point my children and parents talk about it from the Eastern Coast and recommend it to friends visiting nearby. We are seasoned travelers and this by far was some of the beat steak we've had hands down. We're planning our next trip back east around whether we can return to 19th Hole or not. Try it, the beef won't disappoint
Food is 10 out of 10. Granted I only get the ribeye steak or skirt steak sandwich when I go but it is on point every time. Most definitely recommended this place.
Sometime back in 2008-ish before they opened (new owners/renovations) we stopped in but they were closed. However…they invited us in anyway. There’s a 19th hole shirt over the front window with Eric, Billy, Don, Bobby, Teet and maybe Cindy’s names on it. I still see it in some of the recent pictures posted. Thanks for letting us in and keeping our shirt displayed!!! Best food and drink in town!!! Love the place! Sorry to have had to move to the east coast…
Amazing authentic Western saloon thats been around since 1883. Bartender was super friendly and the local IPA (Highway 25 Brewing) was excellent! We'll be back to try the amazing looking steaks. Update: Went back for dinner. Got there about 7:45 and the place was packed. Waited at the bar for about 15 minutes and then was seated. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us regularly. Started with the beer battered onion rings that were very good. Steaks were fantastic although mine (ribeye) was a little bit overdone. The sides were delicious and the garlic bread melted in my mouth. Overall a delightful experience and we'll definitely be coming back soon!
Very lovely place. We enjoyed the steak sandwich and chiken sandwich around 2:30 pm on a Monday. It was quiet, aside from some tween girls I think we're one of the employees kids or they new the kids personally. They weren't much of a bother but you expect no children to be allowed in a bar. And this is definitly a full bar with minimal seating aside from the bar, a small menu of steaks, hamburgers, salads and a few starters. The food was simple yet delicious and I just loved the way they decorated with old time photos of cowboys and doller bills pinned to the ceiling. The gal who served us was very nice and checked on us an appropriate amount of times. Will definitly come back again.
What a great find in what seems like the middle of nowhere! As we pulled up and got out of the car the delicious succulent smells were wafting around us causing our mouths to water! It was a busy Friday night with a wait list for the restaurant, but we were able to slide into the bar area and eat at the bar. Service was absolutely stellar and frankly a joy to watch (I believe Nicole) manage her bar area quickly, with friendliness, and with complete confidence. She is extremely efficient and even- keeled, knows her regulars by name and has an eye on everything, even mid sentence with another guest she is able to get out a polite thank you and farewell without skipping a beat with her conversation. The food..well it just melts in your mouth! Don't ask for steak sauce, it's not needed, and they don't have it :-) We will certainly try and return whenever we are in the area. (And beware of the funny bathroom signs in the bar..I read the sign and followed the arrow..I lucked out, lol! The bathroom was the only thing observed needing attention, but..its a bar)
40th Birthday dinner with family. Tri tip medium (the pink didn't show until it was cut into) loaded baked potato, broccoli & garlic bread. A little salty but I was happy with my food. Unfortunately my entire group didn't feel that way.. It was a 45-minute wait to get a table for 6 but it is a Saturday night. Our server was very nice but she could have checked in more. My group was ready to go at least 20 minutes before I was able to flag her down. The pricing was reasonable considering the cost of beef and that most of us ordered "market."
Whenever I'm heading back from the Ranch, it's great to stop by and get a quick bite that's above average for the area. Good food, but the drinks are a bit underwhelming. Still an overall good experience.
Had a great steak, unfortunately, they were out of a lot of things. No mushrooms, so no mushrooms in red wine sauce with garlic for my steak. No chicken breast, which is what my daughter-in-law wanted. Ran out of the hazy IPA. I'll be back.
The best steak and whisky joint south of Henry's Hi-life. You go you eat you drink you like - guaranteed simple. Friendly staff in a hurry to take care of yer thirst and hunger.
Was passing by and hit the brakes to check out this unique looking restaurant. The bar is rich with character, but the restaurant not so much. Food was OK (buffalo salad...greens were limp, presentation spread out a large platter; good burger); beer selection was limited and pricey; service was very good. My curiosity and palate would have been satiated in just having stayed in the bar.
I won't share the details of why the service was lacking here but I felt if I were local we would have been treated better. That said, one of the best steaks I've had, ever! These guys know how to cook meat and I left mostly happy and full. I'm rarely in Tres Pinos but the hole is on my list of favorite restaurants!
Was very nice and also very busy. The hostess seemed more annoyed then helpful. That being said, the food was good and after a long wait we had a great meal. It was interuppted by a very drunk and obnoxious patron who had to be escorted out (with is crying wife and daughter in tow). Clearly not the fault of the establishment but it did leave a dark mood over the evening. I hope the lady and little girl are ok....
Best steak in town, aged meat not like a grocery store. BIG order of onion rings. Everything wad great AND a well made cocktail. Good margarita. Their blender wasn't "broke".
I've always loved coming here. Steak is my favorite here. But I went here last week for a birthday dinner and the steak did not taste like how It normally does. It was good, but definitely not the best. It wasn't seasoned at all. Seemed like it was made in a rush. It seems like they probably got a new kitchen crew , not sure. I'll be coming back. But I miss the way they used to cook the steaks 😭
Great food and wonderful atmosphere! We would have definitely given this restaurant 5 stars except it took SO incredibly long to get our food after we ordered. We had to wait for a table, about 40 minutes, which was fine, they warned us. However, once we got our table and ordered, it took about an hour to get our food. Once the food arrived, it was excellent, but the wait was too long. The waitress was very good- but I think she was at the mercy of the kitchen for the wait.
We came to The 19th Hole for dinner after hiking at Pinnacles National Park. The place was busy, and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seated. Once we finally got a table, the service was slow, and the food took quite a while to come out. We tried the fried shrimp, Caesar salad, and a steak. The food was fine overall — nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. Portions were decent, and the price was reasonable for what we got. Still, after a long day on the trail, we were hoping for a quicker and more satisfying meal. It’s an okay option if you’re already in the area and don’t mind waiting, but it’s not a place we’d go out of our way to visit again.
Fun atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Busy place so wait a bit for food. We had tritip steak and it was cooked perfectly but the edges were gristle and tough to chew. Side salad and meal sides were nothing special.
For me, I laughed for a long time at the name of meaning with a very interesting story and sat at the bar and ate local IPA beer and wing &chips. The interior of the restaurant was interesting and the staff was friendly. It always seems like a crowded time. If you want to eat quietly, it's better to avoid the peak time. There's a restaurant on the other side, so take the seat there !
I hate leaving bad reviews but I had to share... We waited for 45 minutes(which is fine, there were tons of people on a Friday night) I had the skirt steak and it was SUPER fatty... It tasted yummy at first but after a little i realized it was too much and couldn't get rid of the heavy, fatty taste. The plate was MP.... Came out to $38 for a fatty 10oz steak...(total bill was $113 with tip) Try somewhere else for a good dinner. The service was good though and ambiance was as expected.
I went to this place given the recommendations of neighbors. I also saw that Google had almost 5 star reviews. I liked that we were seated right away (especially for a crowded Friday night) the ambiance of a old school saloon. The staff were kind and the place appeared clean and in order. There was no drink menu just but the server said we've got alcohol. The food menu had a small selection of tri tips, salads and burgers. I got the wings, spicy blue burger. Unfortunately my food was nasty. The burger was not seasoned and was drenched in grease. There were barely any fries on my plate and the chicken wings were dry. I think this place only got 4 stars given its location with limited options for patrons in that area to visit. All on all great ambiance but definitely needs a new menu and chef.
The food is good! The service on the other hand... Well... Let's just say they could REALLY use an improvement. Service was slow. After dinner, our party ordered some desserts to share... Let's just say that the utensils were inadequate. I don't recall the server asking if we need refills on our drink either. The bar area is nice. Or should I say salon. Feels like you've traveled back in the old cowboy days!
Well a truly great place keeps it's standards up! The normally great Rib Eye Steaks was only good ( over cooked not prime ),the salad didn't taste fresh .. side dishes okay ,not as friendly service and they didnt pour the wine ! I've dropped it 2 stars since the best steak in Hollister. had an off night....25 yr resident
Well, I'm somewhere between 3 & 4 stars. The skirt steak was great but I asked for extra vegetables substituting a baked potato and I got half a plate of just broccoli. That was disappointing as I was expecting sauteed veg mix. Also the house salad was a small bowl of iceberg. The steak was tasty but I would never pay the price for the meal again because the rest of it lacked severely. The atmosphere is cozy as one would expect in an old building, but the placement of the tables could have been more strategiclly to allow for more intimacy rather than sitting right next to another dining side by side. If I went back I would most likely sit at the bar and order a burger.
We stopped in after a long hike, ordered 2 16oz bone-in steaks, a tri-tip dinner, jalepeno poppers, and a few IPA's. The staff was polite, yet clearly pursuing efficiency. No words were wasted, and the wait time was insignificant. Drinks were prompt, and they got us started on our salads right away. The beer was amazing, and I liked that they use mason jars to serve them. The Jalepeno poppers were really good, just wish there were a few more for the price. Our dinners came, and the 16oz steaks were PHENOMENAL. There were tender, juicy, cooked exactly as requested, but the tri tip was overcooked. I thought we'd found a killer deal, since there was one price on the menu that appeared to correspond to the entrees. $22 for a PREMIUM piece of meat, and the header said the price included a baked potato... thats where it really went awry. I'm told after the fact, prices on the dinners is "market value"... now, I would have been glad to pay $43 for that steak... but I'd have liked to know that when ordering. The tritip just wasn't worth $28. Also, when they asked you if you want a loaded baked potato, they mean to charge you $5 for a little cheese, a couple chunks of bacon, and green onions. The menu needs actual prices, and settling the bill is the last interaction that defines our experience, and the pricing policy left a bad taste in our mouth, despite our rib eyes being soooo good. I don't think we'll be back.
If any item says, "market", ask the price. I didn't, my fault. Paid $23.00 for a skirt steak sandwich that was mostly fat and fries. $3.00 for iced tea, plus tip = $31.00. My guest had the tri tip sandwich that was supposed to be medium rare, but came well done. $16.00. Service was good.
Ordered the ribeye which was about 50 bucks. The taste was good, but it was more than half fat. I told the waitress and she basically said there was nothing she could do. I would have appreciated at least maybe a small discount or her asking the manager. The rest of the meal was just ok but not for the price. The service was slow and our waitress frequently disappeared. The only thing I liked was the authentic cowboy saloon ambience and the saloon doors. The bathroom only had 1 tiny stall! I was impressed by the historic building, but not the staff or the food.
I was thoroughly disgusted. I ordered the 16 oz rib eye dinner-medium rare, condiments on the side. I got a steak that was way more fat than meat, and completely rare. There weren't enough condiments for even half of the potato and my salad was completely wilted and gross. I paid way to much for garbage.
9.00 for a small super flat modelo with angry bartenders lol never again!!
Tri-tip sandwich was terrible was cut to thick and was way over cook. Worst tri tip meat I have had in 27 yrs in Hollister. Onion rings were not fried long enough and were dripping in oil. Service was ok but not up to tip consideration. Waste of money and we wont be back. To sad
So I'm a 57yo veteran. Have been going to the hole for almost 40 years. There was a rowdy time in my 20s and a fight or 3 I was kicked out. Years later im having dinner with a old friend. I'm asked to leave by the winny little manager. We where sitting way way in the back and I needed to use the rest room. We had not seen the server in a VERY long time. I stopped at the check in stand on my way to the RR and made the statement we had been forgotten about being way in the back. As the 12 year old kid of a manager told me they where bust and I needed to be patient I walked away to the RR as he has try to tell me what to do. On my way back I was told by the kid. No body walks away while I'm talk you can leave now we will not serve you . I ignored him and went back to my seat WAY in the back and my waitress came and took our order. After about 15 minutes the manager showed up and told me I must not understand directions and I was told to leave again. So first of all I spent more time in the military then this punk has been alive so ya I understand stuff when treated with respect. I will NEVER again go there and that is sad as I have life long memories from that place.
Both my boyfriend and I ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich, and it was the worst. The bread was so saturated that I couldn't even pick it up because it just fell apart, the Tri-Tip was so damn thick that you couldn't even enjoy your meal. For sandwiches,Tri-Tip should be cut thin and piled on, for anything other than a sandwich, it should be served thick sliced. I did however enjoy the beer and the fries because I was hungry.
I’m only in town for 3 weeks and a local friend suggested we go here. It’s a cozy bar and the place was busy. I stood at the bar behind my friend as we waited on a bartender. Friend was ordering for her and her husband. The bartender on the side where we were ignored us. Yes, she seen us. Tall dark hair bartender working on 6/11 waited on everyone except us. Her behavior caught the eyes of some other patrons sitting at the bar whom commented on it. My friend was finely able to order after saying something to the bartender. Bartender takes her order and then goes and makes other drink orders. She eventually makes the two drinks my friend ordered and takes her credit card. Then sits the card down and makes MORE drinks for other patrons. At this point I was just done with the whole situation. I hadn’t even ordered my drink yet and walked out. A patron that was witnessing the ordeal at the bar said something to me about it outside. I’m a very patient person and give people the benefit of the doubt but this bartender knew exactly what she was doing. I don’t know what her problem was but if you can’t do your job then let someone else do it. I won’t be back. I don’t spend money at places with crap service and bad attitudes. After my friend and her husband finished their drinks outside, we went across the parking lot to a much nicer bar where we ordered dinner and drinks. Service was great there and appreciated.
I am just sitting here still no food on the table after 2 hours waiting. When we arrived they said 40 min wait time which was ok for us first - but after an hours we asked what happened… only 2 cooks but they weren’t able to tell us earlier?! Totally miss management. They sad they run out of the potatoes don’t have straws and one kind of steak, probably only for us everyone else even those who came later seems to get those stuff. … I hope it taste good… Oh the wine didn’t show up as well. See how full the restaurant is…
