The place is a perfect size and wonderfully decorated. We went on a Tuesday for their all u can eat tacos for 90 min for $20 and was blown away! Bae had the beef and fish for $30 but the deal is so great! The tacos are so delicious and flavorful! The kick is they come out four at a time and you have to eat everything in order to get the next four. They have chorizo, chicken, Al pastor, veggie and carnitas. I tried all except veggie and they were delish but my favs were chorizo and chicken! They come topped with onion and celantro and u gotta put the green sauce on top omg! Bae got their $3 beer and I had the $8.99 frozen guava margarita. Def recommend trying this place!
We did taco tuesday at Mama Coco and it was a great experience. For $20 there were 5 different sorts of tacos to choose from. You can eat as much as you can in 90 minutes. The tacos were served swiftly and were very good. The $3 beers helped wash down the tasty tacos. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. I will absolutely recommend this place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Karen’s the best! Always super friendly and on top of things behind the bar. She makes everyone feel welcome and the service is always great. I honestly come here just because she makes glow.
Mamá Coco Restaurant is a very beautiful place with folkloric décor that pays tribute to great Mexican personalities, creating a warm and cultural atmosphere. Although I didn’t try the food this time, the drinks were delicious, well-prepared, and nicely balanced in flavor. The waitress mentioned that they offer a buffet on Sundays for $20, which sounds like a great way to sample more of their cuisine. I will definitely come back to try the food and enjoy the experience even more.
Always a great time to come here, especially if you are sitting at the bar! Karen especially is always super attentive, chatty and has a great upbeat vibe in the bar making it the whole experience. Definitely must try if you are into Mexican food and great service
Love it and I’ve be came a regular kinda so the bartender and our waitress already knows us and every time we go I bring more people and put them on to the spot very affordable
Steak tacos with a side of bone marrow?! I can get down with that! This is the first time I’ve come across this combo and when I saw this on their menu, I knew I had to try it. Each order comes with three tacos and one beef bone marrow (cut in half). You are meant to spread the bone marrow onto the taco where it melts into the meat and creates a somewhat luxurious taco. You don’t need to put much but I do recommend adding salt and/or a squeeze of lime. I feel like the bone marrow adds a certain something to the tacos. The steak becomes more luscious and more buttery without being greasy. Highly recommend getting this dish. Other items we tried during other visits were the Fish Tacos, Guacamole with Chips and the Stuffed Churros. The house made guac is quite good. It had nice texture and flavor; just wished it came with more chips to scoop it up with. The Fish Tacos were very tasty. The pieces of fish were small but flavorful. And the Stuffed Churros were so yummy! They were stuffed with some kind of jam and came with a small chocolate dipping sauce. The combination of crunchy, hot churros coated with sugar and stuffed with tangy jam dipped in the dark chocolate sauce was amazing. Since they opened last week, I’ve been by twice and I plan on coming back for more. I’m sure there are more hidden gems on the menu that I haven’t tried yet.
First things first, the food is actually pretty great I was a little skeptical about it at first but the mole was on point and the birria tacos as well, I've had better orchata, missing a little more flavor for the price. Mariana our server was friendly, the paintings on the wall are stunning, the only thing that didn't feel like I was in a Mexican restaurant was the music, I'm sorry Reggaeton was playing nonstop, I know that's "In" right now but I would like to feel like I'm in Mexico when I eat at a Mexican restaurant. Other than that it was great, food wise and service 💯✅
My brother and I had the most wonderful time there! If you want amazing food this is the spot! We started with the michelada con camarones and it was FIRE!🔥the ceviche and the bone narrow tacos is a most! I’m Mexican and I completely recommend this spot is you want amazing drinks, delicious food and the best service ever!
This place is amazing. I stumbled in here on NYE and the server was very kind and attentive and the food was soo good! I will be back. Glad to see that they have numerous options for those who don’t eat meat that are delicious (the mushrooms were perfectly seasoned). I’ll be back!
My second time here. Last time was in the summer of 24. Ceviche was so good. This time, it was a late, cold night. Tacos de carnitas felt right. Got a beer then a michelada. Then some guacamole. Everything was good.
As a Latino myself, 1000000/10. This is a must try, a hidden gem. The Guacamole is amazing and the Horchata, sooooo good. Taco tuesdays from 12 PM to 9 PM. The tacos were amazing and the environment overall felt very welcoming!
This restaurant is really awesome. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, seasoned very well and the portions are generous. They have a fully stocked bar and have some of the best specials in the area. I went during the day for lunch but I would absolutely love to come here again and experience how it is at night. The entire restaurant is immaculate! Please look at my NY steak tacos.. they looked like they came out of a magazine! Everything was amazing! I would drive through 3 boroughs to get to this restaurant! Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 Seating type: there is an outdoor seating area and plenty of seating inside. There is also a bar area. This place would be great for all groups sizes! Vegetarian options: they have some good vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: the staff is very accommodating Parking space: there is no dedicated parking space Parking options: there is a lot of parking in the area
Wow! Great service for Taco Tuesday! The place was packed but the staff was ON TOP OF EVERYTHING! Drinks kept coming as soon as they were ordered as well as the tacos. I was really impressed by how quickly everything came out and everything consistently tasted great. Good bang for my buck. My favorites were the carnitas taco and tamarind margarita *chef’s kiss*!!!
Holy crap, this is the best place to go for Mexican food in all of NYC. Thanks to "Pandita" for recommending this place. I loved it. I ordered some "agua chiles" and wow, they were delicious. Big shout-out to Mayra; her service is incredible, she's quick, she has a big smile, and she's attentive.
They truly deserve 5 stars . Amazing customer service, great drinks and food . Would recommend and come back, specially for their bottomless brunch . Portions are good!
This place is really good , taco Tuesday is worth it, I drove here for two hours. all the way from Long Island and it was worth it. Delicious, small place but great food and service.
It's beautiful. I truly enjoyed my food. It was tasty and cheap. The staff bought a piece of 3 leches cake to celebrate my daughters birthday. The staff is great. I will definitely come back.
unforgettable experience! The place was a charming family-run business with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We started with some refreshing Coronas and margaritas, which paired perfectly with the seafood appetizers. The octopus and calamari were crispy, fresh, and seasoned to perfection. The highlight of the night was the NY The steak tacos. These tacos were nothing short of mind-blowing—easily the best I’ve ever had in my life! The flavors were rich, the meat tender, and the presentation was simply beautiful. Every bite was a flavor explosion. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with exceptional food, friendly vibes, and amazing drinks, this is the place. Can’t wait to go back
The place is amazing and welcoming, the food was so delicious, the service was very attentive, recommended 👌
I love Mexican food and it’s hard to find a good place that’s authentic and fresh so today Sunday, February 11 I was in the area of Steinway and I came across the little place cozy spot .That decor was very nice the ambience, service, the food, everything was excellent. I want to thank Mariana and Ariana the servers they were excellent and very professional and friendly. Of course I will return and recommend.
The atmosphere is very lively and the service was friendly. The food was beautiful and delicious. Would recommend to anyone in the area! They have especially good seafood.
Steak Tacos were absolutely incredible accompanied by a LARGE Bone Marrow. Grilled Octopus was cooked well and seasoned even better. Carnita Tacos were delicious and well seasoned. Queso Fundido Slapped. Reasonable prices from the drinks to the excellent food. Margaritas were tasty and well poured! Seating is tight, but we’ll definitely be back for that great food!

We went here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was quiet. So many taquerias popping up in Astoria they all look the same. The food was only okay. Not spicy, not salty, nothing memorable. The fish tacos were tilapia, what else should I say. The drinks were good but not too strong. Nachos are always my go to but it was Bland. The place is small. The service was good. Im just saying it was good for a snack. The food was $20 the drinks were $20. I’m just saying so many of the same taquerias so many of the same girls so much of the same foods.
Decent mexican restaurant, havent had their AYCE which is probably their main selling point. The tacos were solid, nothing extraordinary but a good meal paired along side an aguas frescas. Went here with with some friends and we got some complimentary chips which is always a plus. The real prize though is the atmosphere and decor. Food could be a bit better but not bad. I would say I wish they added more pineapple on their al pastor tacos.
This is a very cute little place. They have a small bar and tables to sit at. We came on Wednesday when they have a 2 for 1 drink special. We also got a platter to share which was more than enough for 2 people.
Amazing scenery and decoration. Food is a bit bland and unseasoned but the prices/deals are great and the atmosphere is nice. Drinks were strong !!

I walked in at 5:10 and the buffet ended at 5pm, the staff told me that they only had buffet available so we decided to try it, once seated we got up to get our food and there was absolutely nothing, there was barley any food, we got our first plate and they were already picking up everything due to the fact that there was no food left! The food wasn’t bad, it was pretty good, i just wished she would’ve communicated that there was no food, it was $20 each and with the little food we ate we ended up paying $140 mind you they charged us for a refill! As said the food wasn’t bad it was good but wasn’t worth spending $140 and barely eating.
The drinks were delicious, but the food lacked flavor. The service was very slow.
Food is fantastic and they have a lot of deals (all you can eat tacos on Tuesdays, buffet on Sundays, etc). Unfortunately the shrimp in the ceviche hasn’t been sitting in the juice for long enough so it was still pretty grey. But otherwise 10/10. Service is alright, I went in on a Saturday for lunch and they were still doing some construction in the back so it was hard to hear the waitress.
I was really excited for the $20 unlimited tacos special but was left kinda disappointed ngl. Food (specifically for the unlimited taco tuesday): The options are limited to Carnitas, Pollo, al Pastor, Chorizo, and veggie. We tried everything but the veggie taco. The tacos were smaller than I expected but I wasn’t bothered by this. They were accompanied by limes and radish as well as two choices of hot sauce. The chorizo and pollo were dry while the carnitas and al pastor were extremely oily, specially the carnitas. My boyfriend had to douse his chicken tacos in hot sauce even though he doesn’t have the highest spice tolerance because they were just THAT dry. I doused my carnitas tacos in lime because I needed something to cut through the grease. Vibe/service/atmosphere: I did really enjoy the overall vibe/atmosphere. And my tamarind margarita was also really good. I see myself coming back here for drinks with my friends during happy hour. I enjoyed the music and everyone around me seemed to be having a good time. I appreciated that all of our servers were bilingual and seemed overall kind. Our tacos were out pretty fast which was great! Conclusion: Honestly, there are better deals out there. But if you happen to be in the area, then come check it out and form your own opinion about the place.

The drinks are not served as they show it on their menu. The food is okay. The cemitas, they barely put quesillo and they add too much Chipotle like a whole can in there. (I don't recommend it) The waitress was just distracted or too busy since there was like 3 mistakes on out order. And she never came back to check on us. Very disappointed. Waste of money 💰 🥴😟
I just had dinner at this Mexican restaurant with a friend, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the start, the service was terrible — it felt like being at a very low-end bar. We ordered melted cheese to share (which was actually good), but the menu said it came with corn tortillas, and instead, we were served flour tortillas without any explanation. I ordered vegetarian tacos and chorizo tacos, but my tacos never arrived, and no one apologized or tried to fix the mistake. My friend ordered octopus and chorizo tacos, but they were completely unbalanced: way too much chorizo and almost no octopus — he couldn’t even eat one. I understand it’s meant to be a casual, almost fast-food-type place, but good service and customer care should always be a priority. The waitresses were constantly on their phones, completely inattentive and unprofessional. I wouldn’t come back and definitely do not recommend this place.
Walking into the restaurant, the bartender didn’t acknowledge us or even to let us know that the hostess/ server would come seat us. Had to just walk in and pick a table. The hostess/ server seem chill, she would come and ask if we needed anything from time to time. Food wasn’t good at all. Ordered some tacos and in the description of the order didn’t say it came with habanero slices. After a brutal wake up call from the first bite I checked the rest and found them hidden under the cilantro and onions. Also tried the horchata and it was trash, Felt like I had drank dirty water. We came to the realization that it wasn’t made fresh like other Mexican restaurants. If you’re looking to taste overpriced bland food with a decent theme then you found it. I’m sure mama coco would want you to forget about this place and that being said I won’t be back anytime soon.
I came here with my parents because we thought the food was going to be amazing because of the advertising in social media saying the food is good here. We traveled all the way from New Jersey to see how good the food was without checking the reviews through google first… My dad ordered the Pineapple Juice Jalapeño Mezcal and it looks nothing like the presentation from the menu. When my dad tasted it he described the flavor as too acid like if it was vinegar with ice and had no flavor. Once the food came in my dads tacos you can see in the picture the cilantro looks spoiled and not fresh. He said the meat of the taco tasted old and was flavorless. In my order of Birria tacos for some reason it included that specific onion in which I’ve eaten in Dominican dishes and not Mexican dishes (you can also see in the consome the cilatro was bad too). In my moms tacos her tortilla was soggy because of the amount of water from the meat. Also aside from that this restaurant needs to fix the presentation on the server. The server looks very unprofessional and looked like she was going to the gym with a crop top and shorts that were nearly revealing her butt and looked vulgar… This atmosphere from the server did not feel family friendly and more like hooters because in my opinion as a restaurant that would want to professionally represent themselves they would not have someone wearing revealing clothes serving the clients. There is so much space for improvement in this restaurant. Including the music did not really have any Mexican representation in it but more of Dominican representation. Also we aren’t sure if they included the tip in the food we ordered and according to the reviews they do charge tip but we did not see anything about the tip. And if they did include the tip then this place scammed us because we did not want to leave extra money. As always this isn’t to point out the bad or negative but to demonstrate what IMPROVEMENT there needs to be!! Every small thing counts to make clients happy to come back to eat at this place. The decorations of the restaurant is very nice. ps: Although my dad ordered that drink the waitress noticed he didn’t like it (because he didn’t finish it) and she said she can’t take it off the check bill but she can switch it for something else and my dad rejected the offer from the disappointment of the flavor.
Be aware: if you’re planning to dine in, prepare for a long wait. Our server seemed more focused on hanging out at the bar than attending to the tables. It took forever to get her attention, and when she finally came around, our table still hadn’t been properly cleaned—we had to stack our own dirty dishes just to make space. The worst part? We ordered ceviche and guacamole, and the corn chips that came with them were covered in green mold. What’s truly upsetting is that our 6-year-old had already eaten some before we noticed. That’s not just poor service—that’s a serious health risk. We left extremely disappointed and deeply concerned
We were greeted immediately upon entry but ended up waiting at the bar for our table. At the bar we waited patient but not once get offered any drinks. Upon being seated at our table. We soon realized that the table was not cleaned and still had crumbs and food from the last party. The drinks are extremely pricey and are advertised being served in beautiful glassware. Unfortunately we were served watered down drinks in plastic cups. Half of our appetizer order was missing and was only brought out after a few attempts of asking for it. What they advertise on Instagram is not what they offer in person. Save your money. Eat at Taco Bell.
