First time visiting this restaurant. Ordered one of the combo assortments fir the table to share. The combos are discounted from ordering the entrees individually, you get unlimited rice and it comes with theee fountain drinks. I massively over ate, big time, had to take a nap. My stomach hurt. I was happy. My Filipino food "experts" say it is authentic and brings them back to their childhood. Wow ... that's quite an endorsement! (hey, didn't i hear that in a Disney film?) Anyway, its a great place. Highly recommend it. Go early, its packed by 11:30 am on a Saturday.
LOVED everything about Isla and the food (Filipino) was AWESOME! Also, the service was AWESOME along wthe atmosphere. Recommend & can't wait to stop by again!
Going here is a tradition my lady has been doing for years & a tradition we have passed to our son. The food is excellent, good atmosphere, & friendly service. The place is usually busy but always worth the wait.
My first experience with Filipino food. I'd recommend this place. The restaurant was clean and inviting. My waiter was friendly and very helpful in picking dishes. The food came out quickly, was hot and delicious. It was very rich so I recommend coming here with a group to experience many different dishes. Would come back for sure.
The food was amazing. The service is really great as well. Everyone was so nice. We came with a big group of seven and we ordered a lot of food and they definitely took care of us. And of course we ended with Halo Halo and ice cream - my friends have never tried the Philipino food before - recommend by Philipina Wife the foodie
Filipino cuisine was not on the top of my list of go-to cuisine because it tends to be one-dimensional, especially on the sweet side, even for the savory dish. Isla changed my mind. The food here is diverse, flavorful, fresh, and not sweet. The ground pork dish deserved to be called the must. The black rice with squid is amazing. The pumpkin stirred fry required some adventurous take on various flavors including bitterness from bitter melon but I like it a lot! All of these come with big portion and reasonable price. I definitely will come back for more.
My first night in San Bruno and first time dining at a Filipino restaurant was made special by Isla’s delicious food and Jun’s spectacular service. I wandered in by myself and quickly realized the huge portions called for bigger parties, but Jun came to the rescue by allowing me to order the silog rice plate which isn’t served after 2pm on the weekends. 100% recommend for the great food and service.
Hands down one of the best spots in town! The food at Isla Restaurant is consistently delicious with huge portions that never disappoint. The staff are fast, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Huge shoutout to Jun — he’s incredibly kind and attentive. Even my non-Filipino friends are hooked on this place! If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out — you won’t regret it.
Kampangpangan style Filipino restaurant and great for large parties and groups. Came here on a late afternoon on a Saturday and we all got silogs- I got longsilog, my friends got bangus and Sisig. If it’s someone’s birthday you get a choice of a free pancit or dessert! My friend chose pancit palabok and we got lumpia and lechon kawali all to share. They have unlimited rice and the silogs come with a fountain drink. Service was very quick and all of the workers for friendly and were checking in on our table.
We felt like having Filipino food and we wanted a location where it’s easy to look for parking. (Parking lot in the back and side of the restaurant) We ordered: set menu #2 and added lechon kawali and beef brisket kare kare. My favorite was the fried chicken and the lechon kawali. We also ordered their San Miguel beer. It’s was very good. And for dessert: Halo Halo and leche flan. It was ok. The leche flan is very dense but good. I like it lighter but it was ok. I would definitely come back especially when the service was very good. I wouldn’t order the set menu but perhaps something that is not part of a set menu. But the best part was ringing the bell on the way out if you were satisfied with their food.
We didn't have reservations, but thankfully, it wasn't too crowded on a weekday. The 7 of us were seated right away and were given water. They have so many choices, and everything looked delicious. We ordered lumpia, calamari, sisig, chop suey, lechon kawali (just to name a few). We visited within the 15 days of the celebrant's birthday (need to show your ID) and chose the get free dessert: halo halo, of course!
The place was very accomodating and spacious. The quality of food matches the price, although it can be slightly high compared to some restaurants, but having said that, it well worth it when you have a group of friends to eat with. As shown in the pictures, there are a huge variety of selection of main dishes and the what's more, they serve unlimited rice! The average time you would have to wait is roughly 5 minutes as the speed of the service even out classes fast food restaurants. All in all, if you want speedy service with top notch quality filipino food along with courteous member of staff with a relax environment, head over to Isla Restaurant 😁👍
We visited this spot eager for a Filipino feast, and while the food delivered on many fronts, the overall experience had some room for improvement. The crispy pata was a standout—golden and crunchy on the outside, with juicy, flavorful meat inside. The sinigang had a nice tangy broth with fresh vegetables, though a bit more depth in flavor would have made it even better. The kare-kare had that signature rich, nutty taste, though the peanut sauce was slightly thinner than expected. The pancit palabok was well-balanced, generously topped, and packed with comforting flavors. The sisig arrived sizzling hot, though it was on the milder side compared to others we've had. The lumpia were delightfully crispy, and the calamares were well-fried, though a crunchier batter would have taken them to the next level. Service, unfortunately, fell a bit short. We had difficulty finding a server twice—once to order drinks and again when we needed takeout boxes and the check. Given that it wasn’t particularly busy, this stood out. On the bright side, the decor had a rustic, homey charm with wooden tables and traditional-style serving pans, adding an authentic touch. However, the ambiance felt somewhat neutral rather than warm and inviting. Overall, we'd rate our experience 4 out of 5 stars. The food was satisfying and well-executed, making it a solid choice for Filipino comfort food. While the service could use improvement, if you’re in the area and craving classic Filipino flavors, it’s definitely worth a visit!
In terms of authentic Filipino food, it’s not bad. We got a plate combo each, my friend getting the grilled chicken and me getting the Tocilog. The price was decent and you get your moneys worth here. The combo plates came out quick with soup, rice, egg, tomato, and the meat. They could’ve had a better veggie side included with this meal than just just tomato. Even on the menu, there’s no small veggie side dish you can add; only huge plates. I was not a fan of the tocilog since it was doused with sauce and the flavor was too sweet and overwhelming for the pork. Would prefer it just right. The ube ice cream at the end was delicious and a nice way to end the meal
Customer service is great, personnel s friendly and helpful, they were very knowledgeable of the menu and the plates so you can't go wrong if you ask them. My first choice was great BUT a piece of plastic showed up in my plate so that was unfortunate, then they changed my plate and the second dish was good as well but too much black pepper balls that you need to take apart. Overall this was a great experience just be careful when eating there that no other objects are included on your food haha. I'm a nice person and won't be so mad about this incident but you guys need to be careful about this kind of issues and make sure you food quality control is improved.
Ordered to go Dec 6, 2025, dinner. I had a craving for kaldereta. Somebody suggested their kaldereta is good. So, I ordered kare Kare & Sitaw Kalabasa & paid $60.00. We got home to eat our dinner & much to our disappointment, it wasn’t the kaldereta we expected & crave. There was no oxtail, beef tripe & few vegetables & worst no sitaw & the same with sitao & kalabasa. Where’s the sitao for both of them. I paid $60.00 for both & it wasn’t the dinner we wanted. Very dissatisfied.
Ordered the pork sisig for 19 dollars to go. They charged 7 dollars for a side of rice even though if you dine in rice is unlimited and it isn’t an extra charge. Opened the container of sisig and i practically got nothing. They didn’t put any sisig at all. It looked like they gave me scraps/leftovers. I paid 19 dollars for this !!!!! THIS IS NOTHING.
Delicious food. Customer service is bad mostly. Hit or miss is crediting them. If you can overlook being snubbed, going extra effort to get what you deserve / need., Then try it. They’ve mixed our credit card for a larger parties bill numerous times. Just be mindful what you tip because they really do suck at times.
