Some of the best pizza in SD! We love the pepperoni and usually pick up at Valley Farm but recently just went to pick up at KBC and tried the ravioli one and that was amazing! Love that they're always trying new recipes! If you haven't yet, then do yourself a favor and try them! 🤤

This pizza is DELICIOUS!!! Exactly like it is in Detroit!! They have a delicious double pepperoni pizza, as well as a 4-cheese....however, they usually offer another specialty pizza and they are also SO GOOOOOOD!! (I’ve tried the Bavarian toppings, as well as the tomato, onion and bacon) If you’re not familiar with Detroit-style pizza, then wait no longer!!! GIVE IT A TRY, you won’t be sorry. Top notch!! Terrific, very casual place for Detroit style pizza. We ordered by the slice on our first visit and a whole pie, to go on the second. The crust on the whole pizza was a little better, probably from being freshly prepared. This place is a former Taco Bell so don’t expect a to of bells and whistles inside, but the service was friendly and fast and the pizza was fantastic

Excellent pizza! Love the Detroit style! Even if you don't like thick crust or deep dish you need to try this. The crust is lighter than you would think with great texture from the baking process. Honestly, can't get enough. If they're making the pizza burger, it's also a must.

Not only is the pizza absolutely delicious, but Angry Pete uses quality ingredients—including ingredients local to San Diego and to Michigan when he can get them. The pizza toppings are always extremely creative, and they always exceed expectations. This is pizza you will crave constantly, and it will always satisfy. You won’t find a better Detroit style pizza (even in Detroit), and you won’t find a better pizza, period. The crust is crunchy and cheesey on the outside, but soft and flavorful on the inside. The sauce is rich and herb-y with a touch of sweetness, and the cheese he used is gooey and just so tasty. I could write novels of love letters about this pizza, but you should check it out for yourself.

It sounds like they mix the menu up a bit so you might not be able to order all the toppings you want, but I'm looking forward to what they have coming in the future. I had the double pepperoni and it was perfection. I'll be a regular.

Angry Pete's is pretty much the only place in SD to get authentic Detroit style pizza so thank goodness their pizzas are ridiculously delicious. Detroit style pizzas have a thick crust that is crispy on the outside and chewy (but not doughy!) on the inside. I always fight for the corner piece. The special flavors at Angry Petes are pretty good but nothing beats a classic pepperoni for me.

The best Detroit Style Pizza in Southern California!! (And I’m from Detroit, so . . . ). First of all, the dough is thick, but some how still light and airy. And of course it’s square, so there’s the crispy, burnt cheese edges on every piece. I’ve only purchased the half baked double pepperoni and cheese to take home and bake, and they are both bomb. I can only imagine the other flavors at locations are also bomb. Can’t wait to check those out too. Seriously, eat this pizza!! You will not be disappointed!!

I wasn’t disappointed it was good but that’s it. It wasn’t like I have to keep coming back everyday or I will die like some Detroit style pizzas I’ve had! Also didn’t realize it’s in a bar and the bar is Desi’s and it’s really lovely :) definitely recommend staying for a drink or two!

First time trying Angry Petes, the pizza is legit! The size is deceptive - they look like an average size to small-ish, but I was HUNGRY and could only finish two slices. The toppings were abundant. I wish there was a little more sauce, but admittedly despite being from the Midwest I’m not sure if that’s just normal for Detroit style.

I'm sorry to post this, because the bar itself was a great joint, but this was maybe the worst Detroit style pizza I've ever had in my life. The toppings were low key gross (didn't have the right amount of crisp), the sauce was disgustingly sweet (I'm almost positive they added sugar to the sauce, because Bianco di Napoli tomatoes don't taste like that), and the dough itself was mid. Despite the dough, the crust was the only decent thing about the pie. Good level of maillard on the cheese.

They may import Koegel coney dogs and sauce, but the stale bun ruins it. Detroit deserves better representation than this. Good food comes from love, not anger.

Worst service I had ever experienced. The beef tacos were gross and the pizza was so salty that I cannot even eat it so I have to throw it away. The manager was rude and overcharged me so I asked for a credit but he gave me a hard time. He also asked me to give their cook some cash tips.
