If you are reading, this spot is a must try. Menu is typical of a taco shop, great service, clean establishment, and the cali burrito was flavorful. Although I got a burrito it wasn't super huge compared to other taco shops that are the size of an arm, which is actually a positive thing. It's a healthy portion. Nuff said.

Absolutely the best Mexican food around! Don’t let the “non fanciness” of the venue deter you from eating at this delicious local gem. The owners are the most friendly people and care about your experience and enjoyment of their food that they cook from the heart. Try it and you won’t regret it 🤙

Love this place. We been coming to this location for years. Food is GREAT and they have multiple options for hot sauce. Clean place and great customer service. Food has a good flavor and many options to choose from.

The Cali Burrito was of good quality, decent size, it came with sour cream, and they have Three different salsas to choose from! Usually a Taco Shop will charge extra for sourcream! Friendly customer service was appreciated too!

Honestly the best taco shop in San Diego! I work in PB but I live in SDSU and if I’m hungry for Mexican food I will definitely drive the 20 minutes out here just to have their food dining and takeout is perfect everything is fresh. One of our favorites in San Diego and our go to place for tacos. Fish tacos are DELICIOUS 😋 and they have good pescatarian/veggie options. Everything is delicious and the prices are unbeatable without sacrificing quality. When friends visit SD we always take them here at least once

I had a great experience!! Their fish tacos are the best 👌 and most importantly, their customer service is amazing . In particular, Ashley, she was so helpful over the phone and in person when we went inside to pick up our food. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone that is around the area!!!!

It’s tough to tell one place from the next sometimes. Salsa’s normally guide my decisions between the standard Mexican go-to’s. This place is behind my house and I didn’t give it a fair chance for a while. Food quality is amazing and the family that owns it is awesome. Seems more like a place you’d find in chula instead of pb.

My search for the best California Breakfast Burrito is over. Ortiz's has always produced the best in this city and I'm so glad they're in PB. After a hard day at La Playa it's nice to find some serious grub.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. Tacos de pastor (street taco style) are amazing. If you want real, authentic Mexican food, this is the place. Family owned and they are so kind and friendly. Very welcoming.

Love the street tacos here. Cheap and delicious with the real taco-stand style options, not just carne and carnitas. I get a kick out of watching the food get prepared here -- the cook seems to really enjoy his work and he fixes it up real nice every time.

Went here for the first time tonight finally to mix it up from my usual spots. Cabeza, and Lengua tacos were delicious! Cali burrito was awesome. The salsa’s are some of my favorite i have had in San Diego! Quick, delicious, and super friendly. I’ll be a regular from now on 🤙🏼

Pretty good California burrito, made very quick!

Coming south from LA I expected better. Still good tacos but I feel the reviews are a little misleading. Maybe the reviews hyped it up too much for me and expected great tacos. But they are just good.

Very good customer service, clean enough location. Prices are okay, tacos were great, especially the fish tacos! Yummy!!! However, I can't say the same about their enchiladas, at least not the one that was served to me that day. Their Chile rellenos are amazing! (Stuff Chile poblano with cheese, fried in a egg white batter), totally worth the combination plate! 😁. Their beans and rice are to perfection! So overall it's worth it! And do recommend Ortiz's Taco Shop #2.

Arelis Taco Shop serves us authentic Mexican food. We tried the fish tacos and Pastor Tacos which we enjoyed. The others with us had the Pollo Asada Tortas and Chicken Enchilada plate which were also good. You can get Tacos ala carte for $4.99-$5.50.

This is our first time here and the food was pretty good. The reason we gave it four stars is because the price$ were kinda steep. If you come and check this place out you gotta try the green and red sauce because those are bomb. Cheers

We had a ceviche tostada, which was decent. It had way more tomato and onion than it did shrimp. It wasn't bad but our expectations were higher due to the 4.5 star rating. The other item we had was the fish burrito. The burrito was just not good. We've had fish burritos all over San Diego for the past 20 years. We know a good one from a bad one and this one was not good. The breading on the fish was very thick and not at all light and crispy. The fish itself seemed like it may have been previously frozen. It definitely wasn't fresh. There was a lot of tartar sauce or something similar inside. Not like the sauce you would normally taste. In addition to the filling not being great, there wasn't that much of it. The ends of the burrito were all tortilla. I would have loved to give this place a great review because we had high hopes. When you order a fish burrito in PB, you have a certain expectation. This one was disappointing.

The quesabirrias are good, the girl has bad customer service and on top of that, we ask to use the restroom and they told us that the restroom is only for them to use , so we were very disappointed because if you have a restaurant it’s logical you need bathroom for the customer, don’t go there unless you don’t need to use the restroom I can only say that they need to fix this problem they really need to have restroom for the customer period!

I love this place but the last dozen or so times I’ve come here, your cook puts almost no sour cream or guacamole on your Cali burritos despite the cashier always asking if you want it. I ask for extra, makes no difference. The shop has gotten lazy or cheap. Shame, place used to be my go to.

Horrible service. First, I ordered three rolled tacos and they gave me two which I found out after I got home. And they overcharged me by $4 to my credit card account which I also found out at home. Then, I checked the receipt, and they gave me the receipt for someone else for a different total from what I was charged. I called the store and was told there's nothing they can do. Now, I can't dispute the charge either with the credit card company because they want the receipt for what I was charged and the restaurant won't do anything to rectify this.

I've ordered from this place three times via doordash. I was looking at reviews and they were good and i saw someone ask for their fries well done and that was a game changer for me, i didn't realize that was an option haha. i usually don't order carne asada fries at taco shops because i don't like the fries being soggy. so i requested my fries to be well done and they did and it was super good. the second time they didn't and it wasn't a big deal the food was still good. i ordered today and requested the fries being well done and i also ordered some tacos on the side for dinner later as i'm constantly working and don't have time to cook for myself. the tacos didn't come which was no biggie i can get food elsewhere but the fries came with a note saying "how do you expect your fries to be done in five minutes? also give yourself time." i was and am genuinely confused because i ordered it on the standard delivery time. i never choose the express because i don't want my food to be rushed. I called to try and get this resolved and see what happened but the guy hung up on me after i explained. Honestly i'm assuming the doordasher arrived very early and they felt rushed but i'm not too sure. doesn't really matter because they shouldn't be treating customers that way especially when i wasn't rude with my request.
