The donuts here are amazing. The batch are super fresh, soft, and not overly sweet. The variety is great, and the coffee pairs perfectly. The staff is friendly and the shop feels cozy. Definitely my new favorite donut spot!

I have recently diagnosed Celiac disease, so finding delicious gluten-free replacements for the foods I once loved is a mission I take very seriously. When I tried the Butter and salt gluten-friendly doughnut from Sidecar this weekend I nearly cried. It was warm, soft on the inside, but had crispy edges like a fresh doughnut should- and the texture was like any glutenous old fashioned doughnut I've eaten in my past life. The flavor was simple, but melt in your mouth sweet and salty. I HAVE to come back for the other flavors and I BEG Sidecar to make MORE gluten-friendly options, please?! My family got the jalapeño corncake, passionfruit Pavlov, celebration cake, Saigon Cinnamon crunch and vanilla bean glaze. They all said they were equally as yummy. We will be returning (at least enough times for me to try all the GF flavors).

Everything is so good here. Well worth coming for these donuts in the morning. You get to see them make them and there is so many choices to choose from that you can’t go wrong. I really like the cake style donuts the texture is great. Our favorites were the strawberry buttermilk and vanilla glaze. Butter and salt is a classic treat too we enjoyed. Will come back often!

Absolutely worth the stop if you’re anywhere near Solana Beach! We came down specifically for the donuts at Sidecar, and they did not disappoint. We tried the Huckleberry (a must-try and highly recommended), the Celebration Cake, the Strawberry, and the Vanilla Bean, each one packed with flavor and incredibly fresh. I also had a Vanilla Latte that paired perfectly with the donuts, smooth, rich, and full of flavor. One of the best parts? You can watch them make the donuts fresh in-house, right behind the glass. Everything feels intentional and crafted with care. The space is clean, modern, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend if you’re a donut lover or just looking for a sweet treat and great coffee while visiting the area. We hope to stop by before heading back to Phoenix.

Not only delicious, but they also had free samples to try. Doughnut was fluffy and flavorful. It was a sugarbomb like some other donuts. Very worth going and offer a wide variety of flavors to choose from Store was also very gorgeous

Delicious donuts with fluffy cake and glazes. I ordered 2 Huckleberry donuts 🍩, 1 Saigon Cinnamon Crumb donut, 1 Vanilla Bean Glazed donut, and a 1 Lemon Pound Cake donuts and they were all delicious. The Huckleberry 🍩 had Huckleberries inside the cake and the glaze was delicious. I think it was topped with dried Huckleberries. I recommend getting there early so you can get all your picks and I can tell you that they have more variety at the store than they do online. If you order online though your donuts will be sitting on a shelf ready to go.

Best old fashion donut I’ve ever had. The majority of their donuts are top notch- although being a chocolate cake donut fan, I was a bit disappointed with theirs. Definitely not enough to take away any stars- they really do have an amazing product

Always fresh donuts with high quality ingredients that don't make you feel sick after eating them. I'm happy this location was opened in the San Diego area so that I don't have to go all the way to Orange County or LA for these donuts. I only wish this location was more consistent about having the cold brew coffee available. I feel like it's only available 25% of the time which is unfortunate. I just end up getting coffee elsewhere since I can't rely on it being available here.

This has been on my bucket list for a long time. We got here late afternoon. Seem to be after the rush but saw another wave of people coming in. The crew working yesterday was awesome! Very friendly and great service! We are from out of town and we saw the special for free donut and coffee. Miss was patient with me and was nice especially during the busy time to help me with the app. The doughnuts are truly amazing! Fresh, light and so so good! It was worth coming here.

Photos and social media make this place seem worthy of a visit. Doughnuts we had sadly did not taste like they cost $5. Conversely, the coffee drinks and surprisingly, the matcha, are nothing short of amazing! Also, the staff are so friendly and sweet 💜 It's a bit of a gamble to get fresh doughnuts, as we were told new batches come out hourly. So in that sense, I suppose you would feel special and lucky if you get fresh ones. If it's not fresh, I would say it's fairly mediocre for the pricing, as mentioned. This is definitely not a place to camp out like some cafes are set up for. But it is a cute spot! There's a boba place nearby that gets quite rowdy/crowded at times which can make sitting here less peaceful and pleasant.

I do not blame any worker here, but whoever created the carrot cake latte dropped the ball it was just like a plain latte. You have to order the cold foam separately but in the add it already has it and a cinnamon topping. Mine just came out like a regular latte, why did a I pay extra for nothing?!?

We always buy the maple bacon flavor because we love it, but on January 25th, we found what looked like cream inside, only to realize it was actually unbaked dough. We reported this to the store at the time. However, we decided to give it another try today (January 31st), and unfortunately, we ran into the same problem. Out of the four donuts we purchased, one was undercooked. I really hope you can look into this issue seriously—my kids are quite disappointed with the quality lately. As a result, we have decided to change our rating from 3 stars to 1 star.
