Wanted to try a new boba place and didn't regret it, lots of fresh flavors We got brown sugar boba latter, strawberry beauty and strawberry macchiato. All were good and fresh . Will be coming back. Also cool that they have happy hour deal :)
Beautiful drinks and great flavor. I was recently recommended this place and am glad I tried it out. They're known for their fruit teas, but I was blown away by the taro milk - tasted small taro bites in my drink which was pleasantly unexpected. Friend got the pink beauty which I originally thought was kinda cheesy but then after seeing the drink realized the name was apt. So happy they have these two locations (Convoy and Mira Mesa). Will be frequently both locations for sure.
Heard that this place has great options of fruity tea and that’s true. We ordered the Dragonfruit Beauty drink and it’s so refreshing!! It’s not overly sweet, smells very floral, and tastes slightly grassy from the jelly (which I don’t mind). The cashier/staff was really sweet too. We will come back again ❤️
Grapefruit drink & lemon one 😍🔥 sooo refreshing I love that they make them with fresh fruit and you can customize them and the sweetness! I’ve been craving this weekly since it’s been sunny out! So yum
First time there and asked the employee what she recommended, and she did not disappoint! I got the watermelon fresh with boba, which included fresh watermelon blended into the drink, and my bf got the jade lemon with boba, both super refreshing and tasty! The service was quick and everyone was super friendly, can't wait to come back and try their other fresh fruit tea options!!
We ran into some issues ordering around 5:00 p.m. but staff took good care of us and we will certainly be returning. Thank you so much!!!!
I love this place! The fruit teas are always refreshing and packed with flavor.
The baristas at DaYung’s is so sweet and nice! Annie usually makes my drinks- I usually get Green Milk Tea w/ milk foam - it’s super delicious 😋
The boba’s flavor is the closest one to Taiwan’s. If you want to try some good boba or smoothies in SD. You must go here

Not sure what’s taking me so long to write a review for this place, but I’m a regular. This is the place i go a few times a week to get my boba fix. Their boba texture is just about right. You can customize your drink - no ice, less sugar, etc at no extra charge. It’s dangerous for my waistline but worth it. It’s a small shop and there’s not really an area to sit down to hang out. It’s more like an order and go kind place.
Tried a few drinks from here and my favorites are definitely their citrus drinks! The Grapefruit Green Tea and Orange Green Tea were wonderful. Not too sour, not too sweet. A good balance. I wish there were more of a green tea flavor though. My family also really loved the Taro Fresh Milk! They are fanatics for drinks with real taro and this place has just that. I was also eyeing the Pink Beauty... I will definitely order that next time after reading so many good reviews about it.
First I'll say that their tea is great. All the drinks I've had here are great. However, after hundreds of milk teas I've never seen the bottom of the cup literally fall off soaking my feet in boba and tea. I just pushed the straw in with normal pressure and the bottom popped off completely in one shot all the way. So either the cups are weak or this cup got slammed on something prior to filling it up. On the other hand, it could be just my luck today. Sometimes, you have those "solar flare" days where things just don't go as they should. Bottom line though is, I love DaYung tea, it's THE best, but I don't like the cups today. Five stars coming if my next order has a cup with a bottom on it.
The flavor is very similar to the one I had in Taiwan. I recommend their strawberry milk. It is very tasty and I love it. I would like to try some more next time.

DaYung is in the corner of a strip mall, and the parking is really tight. If you can't find any in the lot, you can try for free street parking. The inside is also tight, not much space to wait. There are a couple benches only, no tables. I made a trip to five different boba shops on Convoy to rank their "boba milk tea". I tried to get the closest to black tea if they had more than one option. I chose 100% sweetness and no ice (to eliminate dilution). Here are my ratings: 1 Camellia: boba milk tea, regular milk $6.38 2 Chakaa: ruby milk tea w brown sugar boba, regular milk $5.75 3 Tan-Cha: celon milk tea w caramel boba, non-dairy milk $7.25 4 Yun Tea House: Monkey King w boba, lactose-free house milk $7.28 5 DaYung: boba milk tea, non-dairy creamer $5.88 [Caveat: I think DaYung made a mistake on the order because it had some ice in the drink when I picked it up. When I tasted it at home, it tasted watered down and completely bland, like there was no sugar. So I think instead of 100% sugar and 0% ice, they gave me 0% sugar and 100% ice.] My friend called them to let them know of the mistake, and the manager offered to refund the money. That was incredibly nice of them to do so. In terms of the actual boba balls, DaYung's ranked #4. It was too mushy. There was no chewiness. That's too bad because I remember liking their boba. They still have week day promos. The current one for every day is anything strawberry. (also posted on Yelp)

The fruit tea was not bad but I don’t feel this is worth $8+. This is a small corner store with walk-in only. Parking is also a challenge. I much prefer the super fruit tea across the street at Chakka - better parking with nice dining area to sit and hangout with friends.

I visited this store on Dec 6, 2025 around 12:30 PM and ordered an orange green tea. The staff member told me there was no physical receipt, which I accepted, but then she made the wrong drink. When I told her it wasn’t what I ordered, she became very rude and insisted she heard differently. She remade the drink while visibly angry and even said unpleasant words to me. I still did not receive a receipt or the correct drink. I hope the manager can address this employee’s attitude and service. Finally the drink is not in a similar taste as I use to order. I doubt she did not use a correct recipe for my order. I am going to complain this to government regulatory authority.
Picture: DaYung's Tea "taro" on the left, boba time taro on the right. You can see the grainy "taro" between the boba bubbles. The taro at this place is different than every other tea place I've been too. It doesn't taste good and has an awful grainy texture. When I asked nicely for a refund or a different drink because I found the drink gross, they refused because they didn't make it wrong and it was "against policy". Ended up going to boba time across the street to actually get taro. My bf also ordered the tiger milk tea from DaYung which was mid.
Super poor customer service. I ordered Jade lemon Aiyu but they gave me just lemonade, when I told the staff, she said cannot do anything unless we pay extra for new drink, very bad. I come here more than once a week, now no more, good bye DaYung forever.
RUDE. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I would gave 0 star if I could. We went here almost everyday. This time is very disappointing. Poor customer service ever. We ordered Jade lemon but she gave us lemonade. And they don’t make a new one for us. Just insisting the she did the right order. Very very disappointing and very very rude. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! NO MORE BUSINESS WITH YOU! Service time September 5, 2021. 3:38PM
