Ordered bean, broccoli, jalapeno, and squash pupusas. The taste was great, red sauce was tasty and not hot at all, and got pickled veggies on the side. $16 meal for a family of 3 with 6 pupusas is a good deal. The only thing we noticed is that these were not fried in oil like the ones we used to eat. So if you like them crunchy, an easy fix would be frying them in a pan at home. Having many vegetarian options is great.
The service was quick and friendly. I had the fruit salad punch and the combination #1, Loco Papusa, deep fried yucca with pork, slaw, and a chicken tamale. Everything was excellent! Deep fried is definitely the way to serve yucca and the Salvadoran tamale was awesomely different, the corn flour is much smoother and it is wrapped in banana leaf - yum!
I have been to this restaurant for many years. They treat customers with kindness and provide you with recommendations. Our server was very helpful and the foo was delicious! The environment was clean and had music. The service was very fast as well!
Amazing food! Awesome sweet ladies cooking up delicious food. Idk what they do with refried black beans but they are so good!
The atmosphere was comforting it is kinda like 90's taco shop feel.In a great way.The parking does have alot of people but I always get a spot. The customer service is good if you have a question they'll answer it no problem. So now for the consumables the El Salvadorian horchata I mean 🤤🤤 its different from the mexican kind which is nice to have a variety.I only have gotten papusa's so far Shrimp, chicharon, pollo, asada.(I have been there over 10 times) The toppings are the best shredded carrots, cabbage, onions again 🤤.So i pile that on then comes the orange colored juice oh man the flavor is outstanding you'll want to put so much that you will be drinking it with a straw 😀. I go in with the plan of trying something new but so far I've gotten the papusa's.The menu all looks tasty.
Had a major craving for a pupusa and michelada. This place delivered in best way. Servers were friendly. Food was good. I need to come more often
This is the most authentic tasting food around San Diego. Best pupusas and combination plates. Not to say fried plantain with sour cream. Lots of delicious options. Service is always good as well. The chairs & tables appear to be getting a little bit old but they aren’t bad. We come here when we are in the area. All the way from Escondido.
Hidden Star 🌟 🌟 🌟 El Salvador 🇸🇻 Cuisine Delicious! So Fresh! New ! Strange and Interesting Flavor . The taste flow me be surprise to surprise . Employee make me feel like my kitchen . So warming and welcome. Recommended : Entre -> Drink -> Dessert. Parking usually available. Price : Deserve to the last Dime . Right here you NEVER Waste money ,..... You SPEND Money💲💲
We were in California for vacation and just happened to stumble upon this gem. They were very busy but the waitress was very attentive while we waited. As a disclosure for anyone with a desire to eat authentic pupusas, they take time to make. Please plan on being there for a bit and don’t get upset while you’re waiting. They’re made to order!
Except for El Salvador, this is probably one of the best places to eat pupusas. If you are looking for authentic pupusas, come here. You won't be disappointed. The only strange thing is they served chips with the salsa you put on your pupusas. I don't think the pupusas salsa goes very well with chips.
Taking time to recognize both El Salvador Pupuseria Y Restaurante! and the national dish of El Salvador that is known as "pupusas". From what I understand Pupusas are a staple in El Salvador. Yep, I'…
food is GREAT here best pupusas I've ever had. It is busy so you know people love this place.
My review is solely for the pupusas. I live nearby and one of my go-to quick and cheap meals are 3 pupusas from this place. They're big, filling and DELICIOUS...and for only 12 bucks. \nGet the mix…
So delish and authentic . Quick friendly service and the tamarindo water is soooooo delish
Amazing pupusas ! And great customer services . Nice portions and authentic, especially with reasonable prices.

Honestly solid food here and solid prices. I only have had their salvadorian food so I can't speak for their Mexican food but their pupusas are good. The pupusa loca is huge and reasonably priced…
All the pupusas are delicious, and you have to try the Yucca y chicharrón appetizer. It does take a while to make your order but they are worth the wait.
The pupusas are what brought me to this place, and they are really good. They had 1 server/cashier so the service is a bit slow but the fresh made pupusas made up for the service.
Solid Central American cuisine. The staff is direct, easy to talk to and they get your order just right. The price is always solid too. We enjoy the pupusas and fried yuca with chicharon often. The deserts are nice too. You can’t miss with this place. The place could use some better lighting as it’s sometimes very dank and dark inside which would benefit the food because it always looks good.
This place could use a remodel and a bit of upkeep on the interior but nonetheless it is great food. It has been great every time I've been here; I've been coming here for a few years but maybe 2 or 3 times a year as it is out of my way to go eat here. I'm not from El Salvador but I know this is authentic as it gets. Also, if you need a spicier salsa you do need to ask for it as it's not common in El Salvador to eat with spicy hot sauce so they will bring out the mild one.

Heard wonderful things about the pupusas from here, finally made a trip on a Saturday afternoon. Small lot for parking, ended up circling the block several times. Entrance to the restaurant is from…
Authentic Salvadoran food experience. We had 4 pupusas, including the classic revuelta with chicharrón beans and cheese. They're served with a large bowl of curtido, pickled veg to top the pupusas …
Pupusas are really good and not too pricey. The tamales de elote con crema are 🔥. We sat outside and they need to do some cleaning because there are spiderwebs all over the top of the building and outer walls and on the balcony. We waited about 40 minutes to get our food. I know they are busy with take out but 40 mins seems like a long time. Overall the staff seem pretty rushed but the food is worth it.
They have great pupusas, but the service and dusty building can make it an underwhelming experience.
Was craving pupusas but it was Sunday and my go-to Salvadoran restaurant (Cuscatlan) is closed on Sundays. I avoid coming here due to their limited parking, slow service, and mid Salvadoran food. T…
El Salvador Pupuseria y Restaurante was a letdown. The food was okay, but the service was slow as hell — waited way too long just to order and get the food. Pupusas were a bit greasy, and the vibe felt off. Not the best experience, honestly. ⭐⭐
La comida estaba bien en general, aunque el servicio al cliente fue pésimo. Entré para pedir dos pupusas: una de frijoles con queso y la otra de pollo. Mi hermana y yo pedimos a las 2:46 y nos dijero…

The worst service, I went to that place with my wife and they made us wait 15 minutes to clean a table, and the place was not full, we waited 20 minutes and no one came to serve us or bring the m…
The people were nice and friendly. The place is older which is fine but the restrooms smelled. The pupusas weren't for us. The masa was bland and the filling had a weird flavor I cant describe.
I’ve been coming here for year. Came in today after a couple years anx got 3 asada and 1 chicken pupusa. Unfortunately this place isn’t what it used to be. I could have sworn the pupusas weren’t so yellow and they had more cheese in them. On top of it the asada where super salty. I would find another place
This is supposed to a salvadorean restaurant? Well, I ordered plantain with salvadorean cream and beans. First of all beans are not salvadorean...they don't have the taste. The salvadorean cream...nope..not salvadorean. The plantains...they are young. Not sweet and tasty as they are supposed to be. The corn tamale. Plain. No flavor. The loroco pupusa....not enough cheese neither enough loroco to enjoy the pupusa. As it is supposed to be. I do not recommend this place.
