We had our wedding reception there last year and it was amazing! The serving staff was excellent and the food was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable and space was perfect for our 55 guest wedding. Overall, we were so happy that we chose this restaurant for our dinner reception!
Did happy hour here. Best happy hour prices around. Great appetizers half price. Had a really good cabernet that was half price, too. Sat at the bar but there were lots of tables full and good energy in the place. Definitely recommend. Get the focaccia- pictured here. It's like an incredible light pizza.
We tried the focaccia (appetizer), linguini carbonara (entree), and osso bucco (entree). The focaccia kind of looked like a pizza, but it tasted good. The real stars were the entrees. Both dishes were so flavorful and savory. I wish I had ordered an entree with something acidic to balance the osso bucco, but the linguini carbonara was so good that I don't have regrets. The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy and classy. The server was friendly and came by frequently to check on us. The prices are very high, but we did not mind since we came here to celebrate and eat good food. I would not come here as a regular though (due to the price), but it is great place to treat yourself!
Very cute spot! We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here and had a great experience. The Brie and garlic bulb was to die for! I could eat that every day 🫠🤤 The gnocchi appetizer was also delightful. Ordered the pizza and Caesar to split and it was a LOT of food (great portions!) and so delicious. To top it off the key lime pie was a perfect birthday treat! We sat on the back patio and it was really enjoyable and perfect ambiance. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area! We can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town.
I've been going here since I was very young. My Dad worked on the Naval base and this was a go to place for him. We visit at least once a year while in town. Nobody trusts us when we say ONLY get cheese pizza. But everyone who tries it then agrees! We love the atmosphere, the weather, the bread, and a plate of antipasto before the incredible, bubbling hot cheese. Now a tradition that is passing thorough generations. Edit: Another visit. A perfect cheese pizza. Edit: Went again for Pre-New Years 2024. So glad this place, established 42+ years ago is still around. Had a wonderful time with the family with fantastic food. Antipasto + garlic bread + cheese pizza = pure joy. Ate on the outdoor patio. Also did a gluten free pizza for the first time (one wheat sensitive/allergic family member) and it was great!
What a spectacular find! Came in with no reservation on a Monday night. We were seated immediately. Walking in we saw the store front empty and didn’t know what to expect. To our surprise, the outdoor seating was the best way to dine here. It felt like having dinner in a private garden. The landscaping was well taken care of, fountains were spread out throughout the back garden, and the brick and white furniture help illuminate the natural aspects of the space. The covered patio area and outdoor patio area were both equipped with heaters to make for a comfortable dining experience. Our server Rene was great. She took our order and in literal seconds our dishes were served one after another. Fresh, flavorful, and with great presentation. My boyfriend and I didn’t even order any entrees as we were satiated with sharing a few appetizers from their happy hour menu. For desert they brought out a desert try to display most of their deserts for the night. We ended up sharing their in house tiramisu and molten lava cake with vanilla gelato. Lovely place to have a romantic date night or to just enjoy eating in a lovely outdoor space. Definitely recommend!
“Little Venice in San Diego is a fantastic spot for a delicious meal with quick, efficient service. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive experience. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with a great ambiance that makes you feel right at home. We had our meal in the back covered patio area, and it was absolutely lovely. They also have an open patio that looked just as beautiful, offering a great outdoor dining option. The combination of good food, friendly service, and a charming setting makes Little Venice a must-visit!”
A true Point Loma/Shelter Island treasure. We have been eating and drinking here for over 30 years and can honestly say that we never had a bad meal, poor service or were disappointed in any way. The management and staff are very attentive and I haven't even got to the good stuff, the food and wine. My personal favorites are the Wicked Caesar salad and the Linguini de Kathleen. My friends tell me that the meat dishes are superb. And, oh the deserts. The Tiramisu needs to be savored along with a glass of spirits from a large menu selection. Bon appetit!
Excellent Italian restaurant. Been here several times and ever meal was great. Nice selection of wines and menu options. There is an indoor bar area separate from the indoor restaurant area and also a large covered and heated patio in the back. There are many Italian restaurants in San Diego. You will not be disappointed giving this one a try.
Delicious food AND INCREDIBLE SERVICE! While we do dine out often, this was a special occasion. Our server accompanied by the manager ensured we had a memorable experience. Highly recommended
Service was incredible, food over the top! Have been there several times and it never disappoints. Had the brussel sprouts and the artichoke dishes for starters. I had the filet with a mushroom and sherry sauce. Not sitting in it, just enough. The meat was cooked to perfection. Go early to avoid loud people around 7:00. Only had four others dining in same room until later. Lovely restaurant, wonderful staff.
The service is impeccable and cuisine is beyond delicious and pre paired with love . . The wait staff is kind and classy yet unpretentious . The decor is breathtaking inside elegant in all white with candles and outside breathtaking white roses and topeira garden . The bar feels like your in Manhattan or Beverly Hills it is very sophisticated with gorgeous stone fireplace .huge white couch’s. You can dine in the bar as well its elegant .The entire experience is inviting a delightful and magical place with great energy. My all time favorite place to dine and be surrounded by beauty . The owner has thought of every detail and she has impeccable taste is very gracious. 5 star plus
For years I have been a patron here and they never fail to impress me. Even after the pandemic, the quality is consistent. It’s a great spot for a romantic date. I recommend the baked artichoke dip appetizer for sure!
This place is beautiful and nostalgic! I went on Tuesday for the special and the food was really wonderful. Lots of flavors and fresh. Our waitress came to the table right away! Our waitress had an assistant that brought our drinks and also boxed our leftovers. We had a plane to catch and told the waitress, she had our food out quickly and checked on us often. I am excited to bring my friends here!
Big portion sized pasta, enough to share between two people imo. The Caesar salad is delishhhh. Beautiful place and super sweet staff.
My absolute favorite place to eat in San Diego! The La Regina is incredibly good. Everything on the menu is good! You also have to do the Brie and Garlic appetizer!! Last but not least, Mike who has been our server a number of times and he is absolutely amazing!! Best service around. Call and make reservations as they do get busy.
Andrew was our server and he was amazing! The wine he recommended was superb and was perfect with my dinner! The lasagna was delicious and the atmosphere was quant and nice. Make sure you sit in the patio area so you can truly enjoy your experience here!
We ordered muscles, shrimps and bread with garlic and cheese. I'm Spaniard, so I loved the garlic and cheese. My husband is British, so it was a surprise for him. Overall, great food, gorgeous restaurant, and exceptional service. We will come back soon!
Great food good prices, alittle loud in bar area
A local watering hole for Point Loma residents! Years of good food, great bartenders and meeting neighbors old and new! In particular, the bar staff, Omar and Josh!! Local owners take excellent care of neighbors and tourists too! There is not a bad item on the menu! One of the best happy hours too!! The pizza is amazing!! We had a cheese pie that was outstanding!
Went on a lovely date here! Food was really good, we split the focaccia and the carbonara! Our servers name was Aslyn and she greeted us with a smile and checked on us throughout our meal. She was one of the best servers I’ve ever had :) thank you old Venice for great food, atmosphere, and service, you do it right!
I went to Old Venice for my 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. M friend and I both had the sea bass special and my son had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. We also had the brie and garlic appetizer which was amazing. Julian our server checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved the beautiful patio and was able to bring our dog with us. I highly recommend 🙂 and will be back.
Used to frequent here as a kid, recently returned with all my family visiting. They were able to accommodate all 15 of us which was very nice. Pizza was excellent, just how I remember it always being. Drinks were great too, especially their old fashioned.
Had drinks and a pizza on the bar side of the restaurant. Pizza was great (the pesto sauce was phenomenal). Cocktail was solid and white wine was very good. The atmosphere is swanky but not pretentious, crowd was casual (it's the Marina crowd so skews older, affluent but casual). Definitely going to come by for the happy hour in the future (I think it's 4 to 6p everyday).
The food was excellent. We shared several appetizers, had 3 entrees and shared two desserts and it was all wonderful!! Service could not have been better. Ambiance was perfect, we had our dinner on the patio which was really nice. Highly recommended!
We went to Old Venice for my husband’s birthday with a large group of 13 and had such a great time. The staff was super friendly and made us feel really welcome. They were happy to accommodate our big party, and the service was spot-on the whole night. The food was delicious—everything came out fresh and full of flavor. It ended up being the perfect place to celebrate, and we’ll definitely be back
Had dinner there last night and had a wedding rehearsal. Let me tell you it was awesome. Best food in a long long time. Go there they do not disappoint at all...
My go-to spot in Point Loma for Italian. It's my favorite ambiance + the food is always consistent and hot!
My parents were eating here in the 1970s before I was born, and it's been a go-to for my entire life including having my wedding rehearsal dinner on the back patio. The pizza is excellent, the cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is warm with a romantic ambience. Old school Point Loma establishment that is a local neighborhood staple. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a great restaurant. Food is perfect. All the classic Italian dishes. Plus they have gluten free. Wines are all amazing. Service is incredible, friendly, and efficient. 10/10
We celebrated a birthday surprise party, the food, the staff was really nice.
We went there for our anniversary.Very romantic and nice atmosphere. Our risotto was delicious. Very good attentive service. Would definitely recommend friends and plan to come back for pizza.
We had a wonderful meal for my Mother-in-laws birthday. The food came out in a reasonable time and was delicious. The serving sizes were more than adequate, with most people taking home leftovers. Our drinks and waters were always topped off. The atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too noisy so we were able to have normal conversations with out yelling. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion. If you have a larger party, call ahead for reservations.
OVR hosted our 20 person party at a last minute request. The food was amazing and service superb. Every single order was correct, the wait staff attentive, and did I mention the awesome food! I can’t recommend them enough.
Excelente
This restaurant is a hidden gem. They have indoor, partially outdoor and outdoor seating. They have a nice wine list. The waiters, especially Andrew who was our waiter, are attentive, but not hovering. You don’t even feel hurried. Andrew helped me decide what to eat and he was spot on with the filet and shrimp. My friend got the chicken picatta and liked that too. I’ll definitely go back.
I was fortunate enough to become friends with one of the partners, Brett. He just visited me in Fla and stashed a sausage pizza in his luggage. This was the best pizza I have ever had! Now I'm ruined or I'll have a rather large Fed Ex bill to pay monthly so I can get my Old Venice pizza fix. Well done!
The food is always delicious, we especially enjoy the lasagna and their salads! The patio is charming with little lights in the plants surrounding the outside patio and all the tables have white table cloths and a candle. The service is always attentive and great. We've never been disappointed!!!
First visit. We had the gnocchi and burata appetizers, also a lovely house salad and linguine di Katherine. We had two different martinis, the side car and limoncello, both were delicious! We recommend the appetizers over the pasta but everything was very flavorful. The house garlic bread is also delicious. When we informed the server that pasta dinner was not hot we were offered a tiramisu on the house for dessert. We declined. As I said before, the flavor of the pasta was delicious so he did it up tomorrow for lunch we'll be just fine.
This is a great little restaurant with a bar area that has a fireplace. The food and the service here is always good. Make reservations through Yelp. They seem to run on schedule even during busy events, so be in time. The restaurant is very small, so be prepared to share the space with a neighboring table. Drinks are good, good wine selection, beer selection is very limited. All said, we love this place for date night. Not much parking so be patient and a space will open up usually within a block or two.
Just a old school vibe with a new school layout on what it must of felt like to cruise Point Loma and the greater San Diego area and stop in here and have a been and a burger and Fry's and catch up on old times. Here at Harbor PUB and the local art work being done on the building is Museum quality...
Went to Old Venice Restaurant for an anniversary around the holidays. The place is beautiful with lots of unique seating options. We got the chicken with pesto and the Italian special pizza. The chicken was devious but the portion of meat was disappointing for the price. The pizza was also good but I didnt love the texture of the crust. We ordered the tirimisu for dessert and it was by far the best part. Very very good and would highly recomend. Service was pretty good with relatively quick times but it felt like the staff were pressuring us to hurry up and leave with how often they were approaching us. The atmosphere might have been the best part. They had a cover patio area with heaters and lit with real candles. Overall would recommend!
Pizza was good, pasta was ok, drinks were good. Service was ok, a little slow and she didn’t specify sizing or anything. Wife got pasta, waitress didn’t ask if she wanted protein or anything, my wife assumed it had something… but it didn’t. My food was good but they double charge if you customize anything. Substituting is not allowed, you can remove and add stuff for a charge. No subs.
Don't expect a quick dinner, it's a European dining experience that is relaxed.... we were there for 2.5 hours. Kinda loud, not easy to hold a conversation. Food was fantastic!
Excellent restaurant. Food is very good - Italian meets California Eclectic. Service tonight was a bit spotty but they were pretty busy. We have not been in many years but we used to take our young son there often many years ago because they have paper tablecloths and crayons for the young and old. Fun place!
My wife and I went here for dinner since our friend recommended it. We got the pesto burrata salad which was fantastic. The garlic bread was good, but they only cut it 1/4 of the way through which is kinda weird. My wife got the lamb, and I got the linguini di Kathleen and added scallops to it. The lamb was great, but the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts didn’t have much flavor. We ordered the lamb medium well- it came medium rare (at least it wasn’t completely rare and cold like when we had lamb at The Marine Room). The pasta was flavorful and good - I shouldn’t have added scallops- since it was $12 additional for four small scallops. Overall, tasty but overpriced for the service and what you get. Would recommend sitting on the covered patio rather than inside, it appeared to have better ambiance.
Came here for dinner with a big group. Got seated in the back patio. They had several heaters so it was nice and warm. Nice selection of wine. Ordered artichoke and garlic bread to start. Had to order a couple more garlic bread because that went quickly. I ordered ossobuco on risotto. The portions were massive that I had to take it home.
What a cute place this is. Staff was so kind, and the food was delicious. It was a little overpriced, imo, and for whatever reason, they didn't cut their garlic bread. It is literally a loaf that you have to cut up and crumbs go everywhere, still delicious, but not my favorite part of the experience. I will return because those meatballs were so tasty!
Buen menú,atención de los trabajadores amables y cordial, tiempo de espera acordé a lo relacionado al menú
I love this place for ambience and the outdoor patio. The bar is a blast and people often get up and dance. I’ve been many time however this was the first time I had dinner. I hate to give less than stellar reviews but this was an awful experience. The wine was forgotten, the entrees were forgotten and the dessert was not the one ordered. When the entrees were order again, one was dry and lukewarm. Quite the disappoint as it was a special birthday dinner that I flew in for. Might repeat simply because I love the bar but I’ll probably skip dinner. #romantic #patio #italian #wine #lasagna #garlicbread #pointloma
Chicken Piccata was drowning in capers and greasy sauce, and the meat was tough - not a repeat. Halibut Piccata appeared to be prepared with care and was tasty - the special of the day purportedly prepped by the Master Chef. The vegetables were good. The service and atmosphere were excellent.
Beautiful restaurant, decent menu. Servers are young and inexperienced. Prices have gone up, even charge for bread now. Alcohol price is going through the roof, seems like a short pour on wine. I called the reservation desk for a birthday for six people. They never acknowledged it. Service is just mediocre
We went here on a Monday evening at 7 as I had hear how good it was. The inside area wasn't busy at all where we sat. The server was running around in a chaotic state so we assumed they were short staffed. Our drink and food order was taken about 20 minutes after we were seated. Some of the drinks were forgotten and we had to remind the server what had been ordered. The food took over an hour to arrive from the time we ordered. The excuss we were given is that pizza takes longer then the other food to cook. Not sure I agree as a simple pasta plate was the last to be brought to the table and if that was the case we should have been notified when we ordered. As we waited for our food we watched as servers stood in the food prep area taking selfies and video's with their cell phones so staffing shortage didn't seem to be an issue after all. Food was good, but I can't recommend coming here in its current state of service.
Honestly the place is very nice, quite great for a date. Service staff is 10/10. The bread is good the wine is good. Pasta is good but nothing exceptional. And I would say skip the seafood dishes. We did not care for the crab stuffed mushrooms (normally something I love) The staff was nice enough to take that off our bill without us asking which we appreciated. The lava cake was not my favorite but the ice cream with it was good. I’d probably try one of the homemade deserts instead. Supposedly their lime cheesecake is award winning. There’s no dessert menu because they bring a display board out for you of each. The house salad was huge and very good.
Unimpressive "Italian" food with amateurish service at prices much higher than they should be.
We went to Old Venice last evening to celebrate my daughters birthday. She has gone to Old Venice at some point during her birthday week for the past 36 years. She always orders the same thing...a white pizza (no sauce) with mushrooms and green peppers. The waitress had never heard of a white pizza so we described it to her and the waitress wrote "no sauce" on the slip. The dinners arrived and the pizza had sauce but no cheese. The replacement pizza arrived after the remainder of us were done eating The waitress gave us the wrong pizza to take home and comped her a glass of wine. The waitress was irritated, we were irritated. Not the best year....but the past 35 years were perfect
We went to dinner last night. The service was marginal. The did not offer fresh crack pepper or grated cheese with our meals and it was super loud.
The 1st time I ordered this meal it was great. The 2nd time it wasn't good. I've been going to this restaurant for 30 years. The last 3 trips were disappointing. The Mahi Mahi special, it came with Angel Hair pasta and a medly of vegetables. The first time I had this meal it was the best meal I've had in a really long time.
We came here for Valentine’s Day with a reservation for 5:00 PM. We were immediately frustrated being sat directly next to another (loud) couple when the dining room was mostly empty. We were also sat in the front dining room, when we wanted to be in the back. With this, the food was extremely mediocre for the cost and we ended up getting takeout from somewhere else after spending $180 on dinner that was not tasty. Super bummed about this experience as we were looking forward to coming here for a while now!
They used to to have great female Bartenders here , used to come there at lease 3 times a month . Service went down hill , make bartenders seen to ignore us . Food ? Must have gotten new chef . Not as good as it was . It’s a really nice Atmosphere . Bring back the woman bartenders . Ps . I think it’s time to re do the bar stools it’s like you’re sitting on a piece of plywood .
We were expecting a fancy dinner but it didn't meet our expectations. We are people who typically don't write reviews but feel that feedback for this restaurant is needed. We are from out of town and realized after we were seated, the restaurant had outdoor seating in the back that we weren't offered. The bread we received was good but slightly burnt, the stuffed shrimp was the best part of our meal. We ordered the sweetest white wine and it was dry and bitter so we ordered another drink. The waiter gladly took away the wine to offer another"sweet" drink and we were charged $10 per drink. We asked for chicken Alfredo and no chicken came in the entree. Overall the quality of the food was okay but very over priced. We paid roughly $65 for two with no dessert.
We have not been to this restaurant for over a year and we were really looking forward to it. Let me just say the food was mostly great. My seafood linguine was delicious and husband’s dish was delicious. The Caesar salad was very tasty and crispy cold, but it was very pale green lettuce. The look was not pleasing to one’s eyes. It was the waiter who never came back to our table to see if we were OK with our meal. Our dinner got dropped off by a bus girl and no fresh pepper or fresh parmesan was asked. I flagged down another waiter, and he just glared at me and went to the kitchen. He was not pleased that I asked him for fresh pepper. Then the same bus girl came by our table and literally slammed down the pepper on the table. When the waiter finally came to the table to take our plates he asked us if we want a dessert. All he said was “ So, do you want some dessert?” The whole experience was not nice or relaxing. I hardly eat out and when I do I expect to be served like I am not bothering them. We won’t be back.
I had dinner today for my mother's birthday. We had reserved a table in advanced and had no problems getting seated. We quickly ordered some appetizers and a entree. I had gotten a margarita pizza. Im not sure what happened but my slice of pizza slipped and I attempted to catch it and the pizza was so scorching hot that it left me with a bad burn. I practically had my finger in a glass of water the whole time. The pizza ended up being way too hard and not even close to what margarita pizza should be like. Overall the staff and atmosphere was nice but the food was mid my dinner of 4 ended up being $240. I would not recommend.
Cheap, cheap, cheap. And yet they'll still charge you 30/plate. This place epitomizes the bastardization of Italian food that happened in the US in the 80s. Cream in Carbonara and Alfredo, mushrooms in Bolognese, and ricotta in Lasagna. While I had my fears after reading the menu, I pressed on. I ordered burrata and a pizza. Safe enough, right? The burrata arrived, a sad lumpy pancake sitting a top a bed of pesto that was spooned out of a jar, and it wasn't even the Kirkland stuff. A couple cherry tomatoes rolled around the plate, swimming in a shallow pool of uninspiring olive oil. There was a balsamic drizzle but it's not balsamico. Nor is it a reduction. It is what's called "balsamic condiment", a synthesized balsamic glaze loaded with sugar.. some versions don't even have balsamic vinegar in the ingredient list. This one may fall under that category. Served with a loaf of garlic bread, unsliced. The bread was actually decent. The burrata? Fuhget aboudit. On to the pizza. Comes out hot, good sign. I asked for a plain cheese with tomato and basil, "drizzle a little pesto on top" I said, before I realized they were using jarred mash. The crust is so-so, at least someone's throwing dough back there. Not really my favorite style but I've seen it before, so no real judgement passed on the cornicione or lack thereof, at least the bottom was crispy all the way to the center. The cheese is acceptable, the sauce is too. Nothing overly offensive in the base, but nothing special. Now on to the toppings. Tomato and basil is tough to screw up, and luckily they navigated that fine. But the pesto "drizzle". Dear Lord. I think they used an ice cream scoop to dump globs of pesto into the pizza. Word to the chef: if you're too lazy to stick some basil in a food processor and decide instead to dump something reminiscent of mezzetta on your dishes, at least use it sparingly. Service was fine. Atmosphere fine. I will say the pasta dishes at the neighboring tables were nicely portioned. Although I think the ingredients are really low class, the execution by the kitchen staff is actually quite good. I think there may be a dish or two on the menu worth returning for, but anything with pesto in it steer clear. tldr; if you consider Olive Garden to be good and bucca di beppo to be authentic, you may love this place. If you love Italian food, skip Point Loma downtown altogether and head up to Cesarina.
My friends and I loved old Venice and have been coming here regularly over the years. Unfortunately we will have to find a new spot. On Friday we came in only to see multiple roaches close to when we were finishing our food. As we checked out a large roach came up the wall near us. We got rushed to pay up front. I reached out via email to express my concern about this and never heard back. We never even got an apology for the experience. We’re disappointed and hope there’s some serious internal changes. We saw a worker come and simply swat the roach off the wall. It was the first time we also were not happy with the food quality itself either unfortunately and our reservation wasn’t honored due to “overbooking” so we had to wait outside for a bit. We honestly didn’t even mind that and didn’t send food back at all, just made a mental note of it but the roaches really were the final straw for us. This place was a huge gem so I hope they learn and move past this.
I took my wife there for her birthday yesterday. The hostess seem like she didn’t want to be there. She sat us at a table we didn’t like so I ask her if she could move to the other table. Mind you there were a lot of empty tables so there shouldn’t have been a problem. She says no so we ask what about the patio she again said no there was no room. As we saw group after group going to the patio. We use to lived in Point Loma and use to go there all the time.I don’t know what was going on but the whole experience sucked. I know Karl the owner and I remember when he opened the place up. Pretty much ruined my wife’s birthday.
Where to begin? My family and I ate at Old Venice last weekend. I had family in from out of town and we planned one nice dinner out all together. Well, things did not go as planned. The arrival was smooth, we were seated and our drink order was taken right away. Four of us ordered the Cucumberita and all four agreed that the drink was so spicy it was undrinkable. I mean my mouth was literally going numb and I felt like my lips were blowing up a là a Kylie Jenner lip challenge. We sent the drinks back, something I haven’t ever done before and awaited our dinner. We waited, and waited, and waited. It probably took over an hour maybe an hour and a half for our meals to come. It seemed like something was happening because all the wait staff were congregating together near the kitchen. At one point our server told us we had been forgotten and that he was very sorry for the inconvenience. Once the food came it wasn’t good. My risotto was hard rice, I’m assuming because they were trying to get it out quickly. The meat of the Osso Bucco was good but the pizza was cold. Our server gave us two free desserts for the inconvenience and we called it a night. Was this dinner worth over $300 for 6 people? No, definitely not. Neither the food nor the service was good. I actually felt gaslight when I looked back at the reviews for this place. I’m a Point Loma local and really wanted to like Old Venice but it is not a place I would recommend to anyone.
Everyone who use to frequent this place should be aware they no longer do the wine Wednesday 50% off bottle of wine deal. Which is like…not ideal. But what really gets me is how subpar the food quality is these days. This establishment is a classic example of post-covid “inflation” prices with food that is nowhere near worth the price of the entree. Cool vibes though, especially the bar and outdoor area. Such a shame….hope they decide to invest in their food quality because I use to love coming here.
Food is good. However, do not book a private event here! Don’t do it! We booked a wedding reception here, everything sounded great and we spent weeks choosing a menu, custom decorations, invitations etc. Fast forward 4 months after booking and three months before the wedding date and the “event manager “ on staff tells us the “other manager “ promised our date to a larger party and nothing like this has happened before. So our party of 35 got kicked to the curb. Unprofessional behavior and a warning to anyone planning a private event here.
I made a reservation on a Monday via the restaurant's website for patio seating on Saturday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I immediately received confirmation for the patio seating and a text confirmation on Saturday morning confirming the patio seating. We show up at the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation to be told we were bumped from our patio seating because of a bridal shower. We were offered a table inside where the acoustics were terrible and we specifically wanted to have a special dinner outside on a beautiful summer evening. This was our first experience...and last experince...with Old Venice. There is no excuse for the incompetence. Old Venice had my cell phone number and could have contacted me during the week or on Saturday morning to cancel our reservation so could make other birthday arrangements. We were extremely disappointed and took our business to The Venetian where the service and food was exceptional.
Worst Experience Ever I went to this restaurant for my friend’s birthday, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. We arrived at 7 PM and informed the server that it was a birthday celebration. They assured us there would be a little surprise for our friend. First, the food service was painfully slow. It took nearly an hour for the first entrées to arrive. To make things worse, two entrées were missing. When we asked the server, he took 10 minutes to check and then told us the food had been mistakenly taken to another table. He assured us it would be out shortly, but it took an additional 30 minutes. In total, we waited 90 minutes just to get all our food on the table. When it came time for the check, the restaurant had not accounted for the delays or the missing entrées. We had to request compensation, and they offered only 50% off the two entrées, arguing that we had already eaten the food. Really? That’s how you apologize for ruining an evening? It didn’t end there. The server then said he’d check with the manager, but it took forever for anyone to return. When the manager finally showed up, he seemed completely out of the loop, asking, “What’s the situation?” There was zero communication or coordination between the staff. We explained everything to him, but he came across as robotic and insincere. When we requested that the two entrées be comped as an apology for the awful service, he reluctantly agreed with no genuine remorse. After waiting another 10-20 minutes, the server returned, asking, “What do you want to do now?” The lack of courtesy, professionalism, and accountability was appalling. This was hands-down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Not only was the service unacceptably slow and disorganized, but there was also no effort to sincerely apologize or make things right. I will never return and cannot recommend this place to anyone. A funny thing happened during our struggle —both tables next to us were also visibly unhappy with the food and service. They were so dissatisfied that they got up and left the restaurant in frustration without waiting for check to come..I’m not sure if they ended up paying their bill, but they left with very upset attitudes …
Well, the entire dining room look very old and dirty.(need a lot attention ) Server was nice, but that doesn't help when the food is not the best. Focaccia overcooked with not flavors Pasta the same caprese with basil and oregano.. Chef, if you guy have one. Please learn how to make Italian food. Little caesar do better.
Appalled to hear that our booking was deleted by the owners who decided they wanted our table for themselves. We booked a table for 8:15pm for 2 people through THEIR website, we showed up at 8:05pm to first be told the kitchen was closing at 8:30pm which we were confused because why we could book a table at 8:15pm if the kitchen closing 15 minutes later? We were then told the owners had deleted our booking and taken the table. Absolutely DO NOT recommend giving this establishment your custom.
