I got the nethi mamsam roast biryani and it was delicious! The meat is very tender and spiced well. The rice is delicious by itself. You can taste the cardamom, cloves, and star anise. There's just enough heat that you can feel it build up, but not enough to make your nose run. Very friendly staff. It's hard to find good Indian food in San Diego, so I'm happy to have found this place.
Mr. Biryani serves some of the most flavored biryani with unique taste I've ever had in San Diego. Check out their BOGO sale on biryani's which is limited offer. We tried Nethi mamsam roast biryani (Goat) and Chicken Fry Piece Biryani.
This is hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had in my life! I got the goat briyani and chicken briyani and I’m blown away. The portion sizes are huge, the goat and chicken are both so tender, the herbs and spices are incredibly fresh. The menu at Mr.Briyani is huge with plenty of snacks, desserts, and drinks to pair with your meal too. I got the sapota, and it was delicious and refreshing! I can’t wait to come back
Best for a to go. They have a lot of varieties of biriyani. We had Vijayawada biriyani and the most SPICY 🌶️ biriyani. Love it. As long as they keep the same price, it’s value for money. It beats all their competitors around Mira Mesa.
We tried chilli gobi biryani in their BOGO limited offer and it was pretty decent. They have a very elaborate menu including the bakery. We look forward to trying more of their delicacies.
We had punugulu, egg puff, pakodi, onion samosa. All the food was so fresh. We love the honey cake.
Accidentally come across this Biryani ( had boneless chicken) place! Am I glad… very interesting concept of this Franchise? Fast food & casual dining atmosphere But excellent tasting Biryani with a South Indian Twist I would say! And in a store that also has Indian Grocery and A Halal Mutton shop ! Strongly recommend…
If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors and a welcoming experience, Mr. Biryani is the spot! Nestled inside an Indian grocery store, this gem offers some of the best biryani and snacks I’ve ever had. Today, I met Sundeep, the owner, and he truly made my visit exceptional. He’s a great guy—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about his food. When I asked for recommendations, he immediately understood my cravings. I told him I was thinking about the chili fish biryani but was nervous because how often do you eat fish biryani. Being from Goa, where fish is close to my heart, I was thrilled to try it. And let me tell you—it was AMAZING! Packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice, it’s officially my new favorite biryani. I’ve also had their Chicken Fry Biryani before, which was equally fantastic, and I never leave without grabbing their Veg Puffs. The puffs remind me of tea time in Mumbai—so nostalgic and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re craving biryani, snacks, or just a taste of home, Mr. Biryani delivers every time. Highly recommend!
Mr Biryani is probably the best place in San Diego for biryani. We’ve had their chicken, gutti vankaya and neethi masam biryani but their neethi masam one is probably the best one I’ve had in the US. It’s goat meat and the meat is so juicy and tender. It was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.
One the places to get authentic South Indian Food. We tried a lot of things at this place are we loved Chai, Puffs, Mysore Bonda and a lot of other snacks. Curries are really nice as well. The quantity and quality for the price they offer is very nice. Vijayawada Chicken and Curry Leaf Chicken are my other favorites.
Excellent biryani, starters and desserts. They have awesome cakes with unique flavors as well. I did take out multiple times and it’s always delicious, we also did catering for our gender reveal function and ordered butterscotch cake and it was amazing. Recommended.
I went to this Pho place last week and overall it was a pretty decent experience. The broth had a good flavor—light but flavorful—and the noodles were cooked just right. The seating area is a bit small, but it felt cozy enough. The staff was friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help, even though it was a busy afternoon. I tried the beef pho and it hit the spot, though I might add a bit more chili next time. Prices were reasonable for the portion size. Nothing too fancy, but if you’re craving a solid bowl of Pho, this place does the job.
Delicious Vietnamese cuisine at Pho Cow Cali in Mira Mesa! We enjoyed the house special pho filet mignon and #3 Rare steak, flank, brisket, tendon & tripe pho. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. We went at 11am and did not have to wait but when we left there was a line outside. Recommend!
Food is solid, fresh veg, nice soup broths, we joke about how fast they are at delivering the food. Service in San Diego is sometimes sorely lacking but not at Pho Cow Cali, where they have sometimes delivered our whole relatively complicated order for four people within 2 minutes after ordering! This place is efficient and great value for the money. There’s often a wait but just write your name on waitlist and chill.
Exceptional pho restaurant hiding in Scripps Ranch area that of.course the locals know about. The food was very good and the service was very attentive. I had some real hesitation because the food arrived so fast which is usually not a good sign. I ordered Pho Ga and shrimp egg rolls and they were both fresh and very good. The service was extremely attentive and very pleasant.
filet mignon no soup noodle my fav. generous meat portion, no fat, slightly chewy, but its fine to me, ~$14 before tax. soup noodle was ok, similar to other viet restaurant. the viet coffee with condensated milk was very rich in flavor, be aware if u are sensitive to caffeine bc i stayed awake until 3am after that, still it was good coffee. i love coffee. ststaffwere very efficient and cooperated vy well, they drove the F1 cleansing cart to t table immediately after customers leaving. expect ~15 mins waiting time during weekend lunch hour
Pho Cow Cali is a favorite stop when I visit friends in Mira Mesa. You can tell they're popular from the line! When I popped in for take-out on a Tuesday night, the line went down the sidewalk. But take-out is fast ordering inside in person. It's almost impossible to get them over the phone during dinner rush. For spring rolls and a vermicelli bowl, we only paid about 26$ including a small tip! Their spring rolls are packed full, and the vermicelli bowls and pho are so flavorful. The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare, but staff are always super quick and helpful. Always looking forward to nights in with PCC!
Decent place with a sweet vibe. It can get packed, but it’s generally worth the wait since it’s one of the best pho spots in the area. The chicken pho and beef pho (Filet Mignon) really hit the spot, delicious balance of the meat and broth. Overall, great food, good service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
A waitlist on a Monday.. you know this place is amazing. The spring rolls incredible, sauce phenomenal, and the pho is unmatched. Great food all around. You won’t be disappointed coming here just be prepared to maybe wait 20 minutes or so. One thing I didn’t love is they 100% want you to eat and get out lol 😂 you can feel the pressure but otherwise great.
Pho Cow Cali is absolutely worth the hype. While they’re known for their pho (and the prices are amazing), I almost always go for the grilled rice plates—especially the chicken—and they never disappoint. The food is fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying without leaving you feeling heavy or gross afterward. I’ve waited in line for 25–35 minutes—even in the rain—and honestly, it’s always worth it. The service is incredibly fast once you’re seated, and the inside of the restaurant is surprisingly nice and clean for how busy it gets. One heads-up: they have a unique reservation system. You don’t just line up—you have to walk up, write your name on a waitlist, and then wait to be called. If you didn’t know that, you might be standing around for nothing. A small inconvenience, but worth mentioning so others don’t miss out. This spot has easily become one of my go-to places for comfort food that actually feels good to eat. Highly recommend.
The weather’s been chilly lately, so I took my mom for a comforting bowl of hot noodle soup to warm up. This Vietnamese spot is always packed, even mid-afternoon on a weekday. We had the beef noodle soup and shrimp-pork rice roll, and both were fantastic. The broth was perfectly balanced, the portions generous, and the flavors authentic. At just $12.50 for a hearty bowl, it’s a steal! Plus, the service is amazing—friendly and attentive. If you’re into Vietnamese pho, this place is a must-try!

Hands down the best vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. And I don't say that lightly.\n\nYes, there's almost always a line during dinner. And yes, it moves fast. Once you're seated, the service is …

Kept it simple - vegetarian Pho and Shrimp spring rolls. Others had chicken Pho. Very tasty and food quality was very good. Will definitely revisit next time in San Diego.

restaurant in a grocery store..delicious chicken 65 biryani and chicken curry - made to order so about a 10-15 minute wait for the dishes. perfect time to pick up some groceries. will come back to try other dishes.
The food was great. The wait time was a bit long but you can easily shop after ordering food. I liked this Indian store and restaurant. You shoukd try this place if your looking to try something new.
This place is super popular. There are long waits. You have to write your name down and party number. I think the popularity is more to due with good prices than food. The food is good/very good, but it’s not outstanding or extraordinary. I would definitely come back but I wouldn’t wait an hour that’s for sure.
Flavorful noodle soups, fairly good alternatives. I probably started going here around age 10-12 and I am in my 30s now. I love this place and I've had most of the menu at this point. You can go for the wide varieties of Pho that they offer or you can try out my personal favorite: Bun Bo Hue. It ain't spicy Pho, it's a beef and pork based broth with stuff like lemon grass, shrimp paste etc. It packs much more of a punch but if you enjoy depth of flavor, this is the way to go. Service wise, for the longest time one of the servers knew my order without me even opening my menu. He still works there and he's awesome. This place gets pretty packed and it's great for a group or family but for that same reason it gets pretty loud there. Flavor wise the only down side is that I've gone to this restaurant for so long that the chefs have obviously changed. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I think some of the past cooks were better but honestly I'm still happy to see them roll up with that bowl of Bun Bo Hue everyime. I don't think my review is saying anything most residents of the area don't already know but if you are new and questioning where to go. Give it a shot, it's fairly affordable and it's satisfying.
Very good pho! The broth is cloudy from the bones used to make it. There is a huge difference in taste compared to the other nearby pho restaurants that cut corners and use bullion cubes to make their broth. The pho was very tasty and not too salty, with high quality meats. We got the large #1 Combo Pho and the large #18 Pho Tai. If they added extra meat, they would be able to compete better with the pho restaurants on El Cajon Blvd. There is a waiting list, however the long line moves very fast. We arrived at 5 pm and only had to wait 20 minutes. It was well worth it. Update: Got the large #18 Pho Tai and a large #1 Combo Pho. Both were delicious. The Combo Pho had an acceptable amount of meat. The Pho Tai had very little meat this time and was definitely not worth the price.

This is our family go to place for Vietnamese food. We usually do take out. Their phở, bún bò Huế are very good. It is a standout in Mira Mesa restaurants.

While I was very excited to try this place , I was disappointed with the taste of special boneless biryani . It seems as if they just spread chicken 65 over rice . It was really dry and there is no gravy at all. I hope they will improve as this restaurant is all about biryani and this has to be fixed for them to nourish in future.
I was pretty excited to have Ulvacharu biryani, but I don’t think they make it how it’s supposed to. They have the rice separate and the gravy separate. We got a few of their paneer dishes, and the paneer was pretty bad quality.
Food is good as usual but I’m going to have to start making this at home. It’s insane that the price is the same and still high but they’re skimping so much on the portions. The meat used to be a lot more and then it got less and less. Now I end up with more rice than meat. Shame. The egg meatloaf also used to be a square and now it’s half the size of what it used to be.
I am originally from Northern California where in my opinion vietnamese food is MUCH better. The pho here was very mid. There was no flavor in the broth and they barely give you any meat.
I don't understand the hype, came here twice and both times the broth was bland, giant bowl with barely any meat and noodles in it. Patreon at another table said the same thing. In search of a good…
I ordered online for a paneer biryani and got a non veg biryani. I called to report it and extremely disappointed with their response. Requested them to deliver a veg biryani for their mistake but they refused to deliver it. The order didnt come with a reciept. At this level it is not difficult to say that there is something fundamentally wrong in their practise and process they following with food delivery. I doubt if they are taking required measures to keep veg and non veg items seperate. If you are a vegetarian dont order from this place.
Yesterday i have order chilly gobi biryani but taste is not good and it's not look as biryani and the red gravy is not there its look like only rice and gobi and i ask for raita and they not give extra raita as a we give 13$ and it's not worth waste of money.
This is Indian restaurant inside Indian grocery store Namaste Plaza. While the grocery store is good, the restaurant is a disappointment, with not a single vegan option. I understand about biryanis as a lot add ghee, but not even the curries. If you are vegan, stay away from this place
15 min for this! smh. They won't refund if they run out of items. Check attached image for quality of food.
I had ordered a special boneless chicken biryani, the order was a disaster, I have never been more disappointed with food in the recent times as today, Tl;dr - better to try other Indian food places than this. So bad Problem 1 - Cold food, biryani was cold, eating cold biryani is like the worst thing ever, they did not cook it fresh and just tried to heat it up in microwave before sending it out and even that they could not do properly. Problem 2 - The taste, taste was non existent, the chicken was heavy with food color, no salt no chilli, nothing literally nothing, special chicken biryani should have masala in it, but it did not Problem 3 - Rice, the most unflavored rice ever, if food can have feelings, the dish represents indifference, it feels as if life has been sucked out of the dish Problem 4 - Hair in dish Problem 5 - Raita is spoilt, they did not refrigerate the rita well, the yogurt/curd broke
