I have been wanting to eat here for a while. Today, I finally ate lunch with my family and it exceeded my expectations. The parking is somewhat limited, but was easy to find street parking less than a block away. The restaurant had a very welcoming and cool vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Let's not forget to mention the food. There was a great variety on the menu, including multiple gluten free and vegetarian options. The portions were good sized and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place and am already looking forward to dining here again soon.
Ordered for delivery for my company holiday party and it was such a hit. We did a taco bar with meat and veggies to have a variety and quesadillas since we had a few vegetarians and a couple vegans and they were able to assist me with ordering enough for our party to fit everyone. Ponce's is now our go to for our group luncheons .

My boyfriend and I met some friends for lunch. I ordered the surf and turf burrito, but with the impossible ground. The first one was cold in the middle, and within five minutes they had a second one made that was steaming hot. The service was impeccable. The food was really good. I’m glad that we went.

Had dinner here last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is cozy, with colorful decor that feels really welcoming. I tried the chicken enchiladas and they were seasoned really well—just the right balance of spice without being overpowering. The margarita was refreshing too, though a bit on the sweeter side. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience enjoyable. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, and I’d definitely consider coming back to try some of their other dishes. Ponce's is family owned and operated. They provided food for my aunt's funeral service repast. Amazing customer service and they were so thoughtful during our difficult time. The amazing food was delivered on time and they provided all the necessary items to heat and serve the food. Attendees gave compliments about the delicious food. We highly recommend Ponce's to cater any event.
We had Ponce's cater a nacho bar for an anniversary party and they absolutely hit it out of the park! From coming up with the ideas of what would be perfect for our group, to keeping us informed of when everything would be ready for pick up, and giving us everything we would need (especially the things we didn't think of) to make the food portion of our event sun smoothly, Ponce's was on top of it all. Of course the food was amazing! Their service was outstanding, and we can't wait to order from them again. Until we have another big event, we'll be stopping in for their great food just to keep ourselves happy. Don't sleep on their catering services! They are outstanding!

Overall, this was a great experience. The guacamole was the best I ever had. They make it very smooth. I usually like it spicy but they have a twist to it. I loved everything about this place. Parking can be challenging. I can’t wait to go again.

A staple in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego, Ponce’s is good old home cooking Mexican at its finest! Friendly staff, great food, full bar and just a very comfortable homey vibe. Parking lot seems to be usually full, but I have never had trouble finding street parking (metered or non-metered)
Great sit down Mexican restaurant, good tequila bar vibe but also family friendly. Food is a bit more pricey than other smaller Mexican shops, but for a sit down, prices were good. Food was great, had to wait a bit but normal for a popular restaurant. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and they cleaned the high chairs after each use.
5 stars for great service and of course their killer cheese enchiladas! Also this place exudes happiness vibes! All the folks that work at Ponce's seemed genuinely happy to be there. We started out with Large Guacamole and a Large Salsa Fresca (pico de gallo). When they say large they mean it! Mind you, they serve chips and salsa (on the spicy side) once you're seated, so we gilded the lily. Next time we get smalls, was too much, even for us (I know right?!) Both of is ordered lunch specials plus I added an extra cheese enchilada, also not necessary. I have to say that this is by far one the best cheese enchiladas I've had in a very long time. You know the kind, smokey chili, cumin spiked. super-saucy and covered with more cheese. So comforting and so delicious! Can we also talk about their refried beans? Wow. If you come to Ponce's for anything it has to be the cheese enchilada , refried beans and those beautiful smiles.
Came back to my beautiful little neighborhood and it's best restaurant, Ponce's. Been eating there since I can remember. It's as good now as it was then. The staff is professional and friendly. The food is FANTASTIC. This is the place I dream of when I want delicious Mexican food. Thank you to the hardworking family and staff that keep this the best restaurant in my heart and soul!
Good food, good service! Was served chips and salsa. The salsa had a little bit of heat in it! My lips were tingling from it. Lol. It was great! Ordered the beef burrito with sides of hefty portions of rice and beans! Had enough leftovers for another meal. That's what I'm talking about! I cannot say enough about the service. My server frequently came by to check on me to see if everything was ok. I really like that about a server. Gave the server a good tip.
Portions were great for the value. Waitresses were very friendly and staff was very quick and efficient on getting orders out, despite being busy. Flavors were great, their salsas taste were spot on. A little more citrus and it would all be perfect. I'd definitely come back for more.

Been going here for well over 20 years. The foods declined significantly. No longer serving pozole and forgot which other dish however the drinks remain strong. Service has also declined as they continue to be busy. Had to get up to ask for napkins and water.
Luckily our server was attentive and we had a quick refill on chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the shrimp was grey and cold, the salsas completely raw and abrasive, the tortillas clearly from a package, and the margs somehow the worst of it all. How hard is it to have decent chips and salsa and margs at a Mexican place in San Diego?? Apparently pretty damn hard. The Mexican ( Spanish ) rice was Crazy delicious , But, I didn't go there For that, I had read on Yelp , that this place was a 5 star place for Ground beef Tacos. And That is where I got " derailed " the shells were Very Very tough and NOT Fried , at Least Not in any meaningful amount of Oil, they were VERY very dry and Bland , and Very Very TOUGH!! I don't think a Starving Dog could have easily made their way through them , TOUGH !!! The meat , WOW , it was like eating boiled Alpo, NO difference, of course with added taco seasoning, Utterly disgusting. And , they come with NO Tomatoes, and No Onion , ( unless you request them , again , Ridiculous ) And we received TWO batches of fried tortilla chips , the first one was Most excellent , Home made , no doubt , oily ( completely UN LIKE the taco shells , COMPLETELY) AND VERY Tasty , the second batch served moments later were Obviously ( as Most Mexican food places do ) served out of a Giant bag made in L.A. And then Lastly , the " Saulsa, was Almost Pure tomatoe sauce with absolutely ZERO flavour , and NO heat index You call it Your way

Bad service! Were never checked on during the mea not even for our empty drinks. Added large party gratuity for 2 of us. Been going here for 10 years and the service and food has declined to the point that we will not return. We did not feel welcome. Don’t wast your time and money.
Ordered to go the enchiladas suizas and came home with watery and unseasoned chicken, plastic cheese, and a hair in my rice. Disappointed in my meal, the quality is inconsistent each visit. I would recommend avoiding this place towards the end of the evening or at all at this rate. Waste of $.
