If you're looking for a maple bar with an entire stick of bacon glued to it, keep walking. If you're looking for a glazed donut with captain crunch on top, find jesus. PQ Donuts is the type of donut shop you hope will set up shop in your neighborhood. The selection is perfection - giving you every option a reasonable donut connoisseur would desire, so stop complaining that they don't have a donut that comes with a side of bacon thrown on top. This isn't brunch - It's a god damn donut shop. And the prices? The saints that run this place price their donuts for the working man. I paid $2.20 for two glazed old fashioned. Incredible. I might go back for dinner. Five stars.

One of my favorite doughnuts shops. The staff are friendly and I don't know of another shop where you can get two doughnuts and a drink for under five bucks. My recommendations are the plain cake and the chocolate covered old fashion.

Best donuts I've had in San Diego or anywhere else. Always fresh and tasty! Prices here are also dirt cheap and the guy who runs the store is always super nice. Only caveat is cash only but that its a small inconvenience when you look at the quality you get for the price.

Great donut shop with low prices for high quality. Cash only but that's the norm for good donut shops. Easy parking just opposite the door, which is just before the drive thru for the Mexican restaurant that shares the building. The donuts and cinnamon rolls are fantastic. I've not had better dough in San Diego County, and there is good competition out there. The staff are friendly and the service is as you would expect. It's the local donut shop.

I've been going to Pq Donuts for decades, literally at least since the early 90's when I was 12yo...this place is and has always been delish. Just like another reviewer said, if you want off the wall donuts with a twist then keep on walking. For those who complain that they only take cash and find it sketchy/inconvenient because they don't have an atm inside, then really keep on walking to the 3 other banks in the same dang shopping center and get cash, it's not that serious. More complaints because they only take cash, it's not new and they've always only taken cash for. Decades and apparently being archaic has been working for them and doesn't bother majority of this community. These donuts are absolutely worth it and you can't beat the price. If you happened to get "bad customer service", realize that because the donuts are awesome they do get busy and with like other businesses it can get hectic. If all that seriously bothers you, walk to Vons. -Snooches

This donut shop has been around since I was a child. I am now 32 years old. I am not surprised that this is one of the longest standing shops in this mall because the donuts are the best. You really can't beat them. The owners are very kind as well. This is a business I would love to stay in business and will buy them over mainstream donuts anyday!

There no place that gives you a better donut at a competitive price point. I vividly remembering running to get PQ donuts after 5th grade class. I’m 32 now and have lived in different countries and cities where I’ve sampled countless donuts/fried pastries. PQ Donuts is a humble business with an incredible, consistent product. Not campy or over-the-top, just the humble classics executed perfectly and deliciously. A must try when you’re in the area.

Amazing donuts. I always am excited to take the kids in the morning on a Saturday. Always the most authentic flavor as well and always taste fresh. Customer service is always top notch and very fast service even while waiting for a hot cup of coffee. You can tell the recipes are generations old and inherited to the son and daughter of the owner. Never unsatisfied with any purchase I make there. Very happy they are still in business and only 10 min walk from my house. ;)

Bought 2 dozen donut holes for $5 and half of them were wet. It’s 74 degrees outside sunny and dry. Standard tasting donuts. Friendly service though.

A good standard donut place. The donuts look fresh, at least in the morning they do, and the prices are fair. I got an apple fritter for $1.50, which is a good price being the larger size one. It was made well, the outside slightly crispy and the inside fairly soft. It did have an oily aftertaste though.

I understand transaction fees but then have a minimum purchase or charge a fee for using a card - both are commonplace even though I consider it a cost of doing business. Or at least offer Venmo. Strictly cash only feels like tax evasion to me. I was in a huge rush, had my dogs in the car, and wanted to get something nice for the vet's office. Having to dash to an ATM is unreasonable and makes me want to avoid local businesses. The donuts were good and my vet's office loved them but I'll not return here.
