Great divey bar with cheap beer. What more do you need?
great neighborhood bar. stop by and have a pint or two
Recommend by a friend, this place doesn't disappoint. People are amazing and the staff is legendary.
ILLMATIC was the best 39m51s of hip hop ever recorded consecutively. Prove me wrong.
Fantastic, friendly little bar. Great service and atmosphere
We visited on a Saturday and had some killer bloody marys. Jeff behind the bar was a funny guy.
One of the oldest bars in San Francisco nice crowd and atmosphere great music eclectic mix of people young old black white and everything else in between
A classic bar with low key seating and an interesting crowd. Great place to get some beers and meet people.
Great dive bar! Somehow it's never too crowded or too empty ✨
amazing dive bar - so many stories. You can't go there without walking away with a story.
Best local bar on service and great beer selection. Friendly people.
My best friend parents owned it when I was a small child, about 13, I loved going there to shoot pool
The is the best kinda place. Bring a mouth guand and get with the moment or get punched in the mouth. We out here. Come correct it don't come at all putos!
Great bar
Best bartenders In The City. Great sandwich shop next door.. working fireplace..
Fantastic low key bar, good bartenders, cheap drinks, laid back atmosphere.
Been here forever, dive-bar-ish, not quite as divey as it used to be, still super local and great.
Went there w/ coworkers. I talked to a few ladies, they were cool but forgot to get the digits. Lol
A sweet spot to hang out with hotties from the neighborhood and catch some local sportsball! Still not open at 6am.
This is a great local bar. Good times had by all!!
Very cozy "American" vibe, from the perspective of an Aussie. Good selection of drinks available.
Classic dive bar with new management, fresh paint, and stuff drinks. Keep up the good work.
Favorite bar in the city. A cozy place to get away from the noise and enjoy ya self.
I love this bar. You feel like in your home 💕 the service is excellent. They are always aware of what you need. Very good beers and not so expensive👌🏻
Good drink specials, great cocktails. Classic dive bar with comfy seating to hang with friends. Fresh squeezed greyhound cocktail was a hit.
One of my favorite spots in the city. Moody lighting, local crowd, divey but still hip. An excellent Manhattan and other sips.
I think this place is right up my alley. Karaoke on a sunday. Awesome jukebox (lots of mix cds in it, the true testament of an awesome jukebox). Dark. Roomy. Waitstaiff was awesome. Cheap Fernet specials. Decent beers. Awesome decor. Everyone seemed friendly. I felt at home. It was nice. I will go back. I will probably get sauced.
One of the few true neighborhood bars left in the mission. The regulars are friendly, and so are the dogs.
Dive-bar, Dive-bar, Dive-bar!! This is one of the best dive-bars that i like going to. It's not for everyone; it's a little punk-rock and dingy. I love the bartenders though and the cheap drinks! Everyone seems to be having a good ol rock and roll time and it's off the beaten path in the mission. I love the bloody mary's ther! Yumm!!
Great bar loved the atmosphere and the bartender was nice!
Place an order at Claire's Deli around the corner, and they'll bring it to you at the bar. Order a Bloody Mary to go with that French Dip that just arrived! Seating at one of the tiny booths is recommend!
Great drinks, cool staff. Open at 6am on Sat/Sunday. Still a great SF place. Get a sub at Turners next door as well.
Apparently ownership regime change has left some of the longstanding bar staffers without jobs. Last time I was there it was much the same as it has been for decades, just a deep dark hole in the wall to have a drink in, but not so sure what the next ownnership phase will bring.
New ownership. Now a modern hipster dive. The locals, well ya can imagine how they've taken it. Good luck to the new breed and bless the dying breed. This is SF, Roger out.
Great bartenders, cozy atmosphere, decent prices for happy hour. Over-all a nice relaxed neighborhood bar with a fire place!
One of the best bartender i met in north america. Cheers from Prague ;)
It’s a quintessential SF dive bar. There are a lot of regulars and mostly locals.
Best dive bar in the city. Best Bartenders in town. Don't forget the best locals in town. No questions asked.
Loved the vibe here and the drinks were affordable. Would def return!
Great Bar. Open at 6am on Sat/Sunday. Fabulous sandwiches next door at Turner's Kitchen as well.
The most awesome dive bar in SF. Cheap beer and if you're lucky free food :). Staff is awesome too!
Best dive bar in SF delicious fresh grapefruit juice
Corey is amazing. Vibe is mild but it's such a great place to unwind after a long day!
I always have a good time there. Great clientele. Nice dive bar atmosphere. Reasonably priced drinks. Two thumbs up.
Cool little joint with an awesome vibe. Drinks are moderately priced at $7 for a call cocktail. The bartender, Corey, has an easy going demeanor and knows the area. Great recommendations. He also makes one badass mojito ($6 by the way).
My go to bar anytime I'm up in the city. Bartenders are super friendly and make you feel welcomed. Strong pours. Decently priced in comparison to other bars in the city. Neighborhood dive bar atmosphere.
Deliciously divey, a chill place to relax with friends and hear yourself talk. Small crowd on a Sunday night, closing on the earlier end, but I respect that. I enjoyed a couple Sculpin IPAs, but I cannot comment on the mixed drink options. I would definitely go back if my pals suggested it.
This is the best bar in my neighborhood. Gabriel, who works the door (and is often cleaning tables inside when the door is slow aka does he ever stop being awesome?) is a king among men. I have never met a nicer door-person who helps keep the underage kids out and also the rif raf (random annoying frat boys). And as your queer patrons: Gabriel is eye candy! And when we creepy SF queers take up too much space, he still respects us. Amidst drag queens being attacked for being present: it’s wonderful to know I can walk into my local bar covered in glitter and will be welcomed with open arms. Oof now this is hitting my heart in a big way. GABRIEL IS WHAT WE NEED IN THIS WORLD. Give them a raise! Or I will.
Nice little bar. Has a local dive bar feel, but is actually very nicely remodeled. Good beer selection- got pliny the elder on tap!
If there's any place in San Francisco I would have to pick as my favorite watering hole, night club, dive bar it's the 500 club at 500 Guerrero St and 17th St. The 500 Club is a haven for some of the most talented musicians and artist that there is in all of San Francisco bar none. The coolest bartenders like Jeff and Bone during the day and the best bartender in all of San Francisco, bar manager Donny is Awesome!!! The 500 is a funky little place with the best drink prices in S.F.. Day time domestic beers are only $2.00 bucks!! wow! Along with a great selection of distilled liquors. Day time is my favorite with locals kicking it,talking music and art.Night time is more lively with a totally hip crowd of the beautiful and freakiest people. Free WIFI is available including several big screen TVs for all you sporting events and music videos. No matter were your from you have to check out the 500 club it's only a short walk from 16th St. BART.
One of the OGs of original dive bars. Much respect is owed to this place and the grit and straight up solid bar scene for which it stands (and, sadly, stands more and more alone in SF). No fancy pants here, please. Keep it real.
Very cool dive bar. Friendly bartender. Dog friendly. Easy access from the BART
The drinks were really good. Our bartender was friendly and welcoming. Great music and ambience. Would definitely come back
Unprentious, dark and away from the busy strip of Valencia St. in the Mission. If you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of life, I'd recommend this place. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are friendly.

Great drinks, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. Went here yesterday after a another bar that was being discriminatory. Love the vibes and staff here A+.
This is a long time favorite dive bar for me. It's new owners have not it's integrity from what I can tell. Please do stop in and support it, but do your best to honor it as a long time neighborhood spot. If nothing else say hi to a stranger and see if they knew about this bar in an earlier decade. Try to find some stores of an older San Francisco.
You know what you want: booze. This is one of the best places on earth to drink booze. Pliny, Racer, "rosé all day", fresh squeezed greyhounds on the weekends. Be respectful. This place is a gem and not to be messed with. Seriously, tip, and be polite.
I stopped in to see a friend. Quaint location with fresh hand made drinks to order. Corey was a great bartender. Made bloody Mary's, with fresh ingredients. If u live in the area this place is a total recommend. I'll go back again when in the area. I don't think they have food. But I saw there is a pizza place coming in next door, NY style pizza can't wait to try it. This is a nice spot to have a great drink.
I wouldn’t call it a full blown dive bar but it’s close. Chill atmosphere. Drinks are strong in a good way. Everyone is super friendly. Price are solid too. Would recommend.
Super old sf saloon. Amazing bartenders. Cool vibes. Filled with locals. No food. Photo booth!
I came here today during a layover because it's within walking distance to a BART station. It turned out to be a fantastic pub with a friendly bartender and fellow patrons. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. I meant to leave a tip but only realized the bartender gave me the full change when I had left. Sorry about this!
Been my favorite bar for nearly 20 years. Authentic San Francisco vibe with all the friendly swagger, great drinks, nice bartenders, good music, lots of dogs, good lighting and decent prices... Stay awesome please. 😍
500 club was a highlight of our trip. Low key, vibey casual bar. The bartender was friendly and welcoming (haven’t been able to say that about several places in sf). Brunette female bartender working on Tuesday night - thank you! We drank scotch and sour - she offered to shake them which was nice and always included a few delicious cherries. Extra bonus, the sour is homemade. I wish I’d known there was food, i would bet it’s good. The lights are dim and red and sexy and the playlist was so random but in a good way.
I used to live right next to it, had great time with friends there. It is surprisingly clean and well- decorated as a dive bar. Prep cash if you wanna use the Photo Booth.
Went with a friend who hasn't been to this bar since the 90's. She says it hasn't changed much, just not as many musicians as patrons. Almost felt like a NY local bar. Good drinks.
This is off on Guerrero St in the Mission. Pretty chill place to watch the game
Best bar in the Mission, hands down. Honestly, it's probably the best bar in the city. It's just been too long since I've explored bars outside the Mission to say.
This spot is divey perfection. The drinks are delicious, strong, and cheap. They fresh squeeze limes to make your margarita. Super clean bathrooms. Service is good, no nonsense, sometimes humorous and always efficient. I live nearby and have to stop myself from going too often cus I don't wanna be a lush. They're also dog friendly and I love getting some free pets from the puppers. I'm always proud to take friends to my local spot.

Great drinks. The people at the bar are amazing.
Dive bar with all the things you’d expect from a dive bar. Cheap drinks, divey vibe, friendly staff, and sports on the TV. Solid.
Always a great dive bar to go to... Just... Maybe stick to beer there. #localspot
Nice little bar with a reputation and great staff. Decent prices as well
Great dive-bar. Some good beer on tap. Too many TVs
Good drinks and competent bartenders. The food also looks good and complements the drinks nicely
Good neighborhood dive barn with loads of character and a chill ambience. I don't recommend their cocktails, but you can't go wrong with beer.
This is a seedy dive neighborhood bar just the kind of place to go if you want to get lucky. Have gotten lucky there several times and always have a good time drinks are reasonable spirits are good
Good service, cheap margaritas, nice seating arrangements. If you're looking for a great dive bar, you've found it.
Good drinks with lots of regulars. Please do not ask for a drinks menu here. The bartender might give you the stink eye :)
Classic SF mission dive bar. Been around forever. You can still get a good $5 beer in this town here. They don't really open at 6am even though the sign says so, but they used to back in the day. Always colorful clientele.
Nice little Mission dive bar around the corner from Dolores park. Pretty friendly people inside and good drinks. This place is semi roomy so you could snag a place to sit and be comfy while you suck down some beers.
If you want a chill night with some friends at a divey bar, this is your spot. They don't serve food here but you can get a whiskey or beer real easily. The place is pretty small when it's crowded but it's a neighborhood drinking spot.
The 500 Club bar is a delightful neighborhood spot that effortlessly combines old-school charm with a welcoming, modern atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’ll notice its classic neon sign and vintage décor, which give it an inviting, retro vibe. The bartenders are friendly, approachable, and highly skilled, crafting cocktails that range from time-honored favorites to creative twists. Meanwhile, the reasonably priced beer selection caters to those who prefer a no-frills, laid-back experience. Regular patrons will tell you that the 500 Club is a place where strangers soon become friends, thanks to the bar’s relaxed ambiance and lively conversation. Whether you’re grabbing a quick after-work drink or settling in for a long night of socializing, the space offers comfortable seating and enough room to breathe. On most nights, the jukebox plays an eclectic selection of tunes that appeal to a wide variety of tastes. Throughout the week, you can find local artists and the occasional event, adding an extra layer of entertainment. All in all, the 500 Club delivers a charming slice of neighborhood nightlife that feels refreshingly unpretentious. It’s an ideal destination for anyone looking to unwind, enjoy good company, and savor authentic bar culture.

Decent for a dark, some what divie bar. Good costumer service and clean bar space.
Little dive bar, somewhat a thing among the locals in mission, a quick stop over on a Friday night
I was really excited to try this dive but was disappointed by the drink prices and quality. Whatever their house gin and whisky is, don't order it!
Decent dive bar. A bit on the small side and some of the drink specials could be more... Special.
One of my favorites in San Francisco. But the service is not that great and be prepared to be threatened by a swarm of flies/bugs. Still, a SF staple.
It's a hipster dive bar. I remember when it was an alcoholic's bar for day-drinking, but not so much anymore. Drinks are ok. Straight bar but they are sufficiently gay-friendly as to put up a rainbow flag outside...but this is SF and you wouldn't expect to get hassled almost anywhere.
An SF stalwart that natives remember, but it's not as enjoyable these days because of the OK crowd of Mission whatevers and the fact that last time I was there my beer was served warm (how does that happen?). At least the prices are right and there is ample seating.
This is a really interesting dive bar int he mission. A lot of the time it completely empty but every once and a while I'll walk by and it will be absolutely booming. I think they do a lot of events surrounding sports games.
Get a beer, not a cocktail. I don't think there was gin or really tonic, for that matter, in my ice water.
You would think it's a pool dive bar from the outside, buuuut then you go in and realize the drinks are over priced the music is played so low it can't be heard and it ends up just being another krapy hipster bar.
Sounded cool, wish I had spent my $$$ elsewhere. Rude female bartender, smelled dank and gross. Overpriced mini cocktails....find out for yourself if you don't like what Im saying. $20 card minimum. Lol
The establishment right away judges people. I'm visiting San Francisco from Los Angeles and I'm a writer. I have a noticeable physical disability and as soon as I stepped 10 feet into the bar, patrons were telling me no, and that led to staff refusing me.
Don’t bother. Terrible service, mediocre drinks and basically a waste of time. Staff was rude and didn’t have the time of day
gave off transphobic vibes. asked me to leave because someone offered to buy me a drink and they told them i’m trans as if that would deter them from me? this place is not welcoming for everyone. also, doesn’t have a pool table tho they advertise that they do.
I will never return to this bar again. On 9/20/2022 my coworkers and I decided to visit this venue for some drinks after work. We started the night with shots of tequila, we were given three shots of tequila served to us without lime. I politely asked the bartender if we could have limes with our shots, when asking this the bartender was directly in front of me and chose to ignore me. I continued to politely ask “miss can we please get some limes” the bartender chooses to continue to ignore our requests and engages in conversation w other guests. For relevancy the bartender was a white female, brunette hair, slim built, with tattoos on her arms. Eventually we did get the limes we requested.. minutes later we had asked for 3 IPA’s the bartender acknowledged our order and proceeded to serve the entire bar, make their drink orders, engage in conversation and even take a shot with another patron before responding to our request. At this point, I voiced my frustration to the bartender and my coworkers and I left. Whoever owns this establishment please look into this concern and do a better job training your bartenders. The level of open, blatant, disrespect my friends and I experienced is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone.
