BEST BURGER IN SF! If I didn't live in Oakland I would probably eat here every week! Came here because they use CreamCo meat, will stay here because it's out of this world delicious. I ate a calibur style burger with cheddar & bacon with some calibur fries & a milkshake. Everything here is A+!
At first glance this place looks like a fast food restaurant with over priced prices, boy how looks can deceive. I ordered the veggie burger and veggie fries, (yes they are kind enough to tell you they make their fries with beef tallow and non GMO rice bran oil.) Which roughly took 15 minutes to make, but here's why. First of all, I ordered my food during peak hours which slows down every business. Secondly, everything is made from scratch, from the veggie patty all the way to the ketchup. It was honestly the best ketchup I've ever had. The best part about it, it was real homemade ketchup. This burger joint is worthwhile and delicious. Also the employees are awesome and kind.
Amazing little place in west portal for burgers. The veggie patty is really good made with their home style prep with caramelized onions and Home made sauce. I would def come here again when I crave for burgers. They have the home made tomato sauce which is tasty as well and a varied selection of milkshakes :)
SF has a lot of over priced $15 burger that aren’t worth $8. This is not one of them!! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone that wants a very great burger At a very good price. The beef was so juicy, tasty, everything you want from a burger. I the fried portion is also very good! Good enough to share between two people. I mean, I have had so much mediocre food that is so expensive lately.. I’m so happy to have eaten here and I really hope this review convinces you to come and try this place out!!
This was my first time here. First, the lady at the register was super friendly. I ordered the veggie burger with everything and jalapeños, but they didn't have the ones in vinegar, so I got the fresh ones. It's a good idea, by the way. I also got an order of fries. These fries were so good. I mean, they are made to order, they are crispy, and they are seasoned just perfect, and they also give you more than a good amount. You will have to sit outside, but if it's a nice da, it's perfect.
Was here on Halloween afternoon. The kids were having a blast. Host was able to handle the kids n guest. Had a solid burger n fries. Ate it in the parklet outside. Don't think they have any inside seating. Parklet had bar stools.
The Burger was AMAZING and if you go there GET THEIR SECRET SAUCE. I love their fries and you get so many of them too. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!
Have you ever just wanted a big fat juicy cheesy burger with all the stuff on a big ole bun and crispy fries? This is the place. You take that burger and fries, sit your butt down and chomp. People hustling about, could be foggy, could be sunny, that burger and fries, and you're thinking would 2 burger be too much? If you're having a mediocre, bad day this place will just set things right. If you're having an awesome day, you know when you get home, everyone is goin' to get something something good. Life can't be better. I love this place. Get napkins. Yes.
Delicious burger! Love the amount of customizations they offer. Only complaint is I wish they had indoor seating
Tried this place out on Door dash during the happy hour special. These burgers are great. Joins the ranks of other great burgers in the city. The chili cheese fries were phenomenal as well. Will have to check this place out in person sometime, but for the meantime, I'll be ordering from Door dash!
French fries fried in healthy beef tallow (fat) are sold here and they are dark golden long, slightly crisp on the outside and soft inner texture and in great amounts (1 box feeds 2) as they should be in the America of 2025. Free from modern seed oil of course. When ordering their burgers you can get them as low carb variant in lettuce wrap.
They have pretty juicy, tasty burgers at such a reasonable price. The ingredients seem fresh and the meat is always perfectly cooked.
We needed a quick bite before taking the muni up to Civic Center for a broadway play. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices and the quality of the food we received. We ordered one single burger with cheddar, one double with american cheese, tallow fries, and root beer. Good food for great prices. Would love to try out their other stuff. Maybe the milkshakes next time. Their calibur sauce is yum.
This place was pretty sweet. Very friendly service and great seating atmosphere, fits approximately 30. Burgers were delicious with the recommended “Calibur” style, and so were the fries. Definitely a solid place to visit for a tasty and satisfying burger. Thank you for the awesome experience!
I've been coming here since 2017 (once every few months) so I don't know how I haven't reviewed this awesome place yet. The burgers and fries are perfect every time and always made to order. They use fresh ingredients and that's reflected in taste and price. The shakes are nice and thick and refreshing on a hot day. Service is always good in my experience. If you can only try one thing from Calibur, I highly recommend the Calibur fries. Imagine In-N-Out's animal-style fries but the fries are actually good by themselves. It's sad to see that they're staying with parklet seating as the pandemic comes to a close, but I'm glad they're still around, and with a loyal customer base.
Delish! They had great outdoor, covered seating. The house veggie burgers were flavorful. But the fries...there was something amazing about them! They tasted SO good. Usually I will not eat all of my fries when I go out to eat and focus on the main meal, but these fries were unique. Go try them!!!! The staff was SUPER friendly and the gal that took our order was very thorough and wasn't annoyed with our substitutions. This was a great stop while traveling through San Fran. Parking was difficult, so give yourself some time to find/wait for a spot if you are driving.
Small burger shop, outdoor seating only. Fast and friendly staff. They go above and beyond to provide allergy free offerings. Worth a visit.
Super cute no frills burger joint. Their black and white milkshake was bombdiggity....thick like icecream. The double burger was juicy and filling. The calibur fries were crispy even with a good amount of caramelized onion and calibur sauce on it. Price was reasonable. We will be back again.

Been a regular for 3 years, love the burgers and love the service. Always so fresh tasting and hearty. Spencer and Eileen helped me out and were kind and hospitable. I always reccomended this place to anyone.
We were tired after a long day and just wanted a quick bite, and this place did not disappoint! Their burgers and sandwiches were full of flavor and sauce, and I finished my loaded grilled cheese off with a tasty chocolate malt. This is definitely on our list for a repeat visit!
New to the area and was craving a burger and Calibur inc did not disappoint! I already tried super duper burgers so wanted to give something else a go. When I got home I had an unexpected phone call to my dismay so the burger had been sitting another 15 mins or so. That wait had nothing on this burger. It was cooked to perfection and you can taste the quality ingredients and freshness. The fries are cooked in tallow which is so rad. The only thing I didn’t care for was the house red sauce which is like a marinara sauce. But that’s just a matter of taste and didn’t bother me too much I will simply get regular ketchup for my fries next time. The price is super reasonable especially for the area and The young lady that gave me my burger gave me a welcoming smile that was the cherry on top. This will be my new burger spot moving forward. Thanks guys. 🤙🏼

The burgers at this place are cheaper than most places around and the service was good. Overall I really wanted to rate them 5 stars but the one of the burgers was more on the medium rare side and we were never asked how we wanted the burgers prepared. The receipt says "well done", but I can promise the burger was not well done and we wouldn't have wanted it well done, so it's not awful but it was a surprise to see how rare the burger was with what we were used to and expected. Everything still tasted good and such, but just be aware that the burgers will be closer to medium rare and you might need to ask if you want the burger cooked a bit more. Still definitely try this place out because the food was good and you can't be the price!
This is a cheap yet charming place with tasty burgers and delicious tallow fries. The prices are very good for this city, and the serving sizes quite fair as well. I like the seating outside a good bit, and the restaurant, though small, is very recognizable.
This is the neighborhood burger joint that you are glad to have. Every time we stay in the West Portal area, we will eat here at least once. Their burgers are good patties at good prices. You could taste that it was a beef burger and not just full of fillers. It was juicy, sizable and value-for-money, especially for San Francisco. We added lettuce, tomatoes and cheese for the toppings. I would have had the grilled onions but my hubby doesn't really like the sweetened onions. All the ingredients were fresh, which we appreciated. Atmosphere-wise it is more of a takeaway joint but we stopped to eat it at their patio seating because, in my opinion, it's best taken fresh out of the oven + fries are always better fresh.
So the food is great service is lovely but it’s mainly outdoor seating so I can’t give them any credit but great eating spot
Burger and fries were pretty good. The burger was tasty and fresh. Fries were a little soggy. Not as amazing as my first time trying it. Still a pretty decent meal though. Recommend Nice little outdoor eating area , that only took up one parking spot. Nice place to sit when the weather cooperates.
Sometimes you just have a craving for a juicy cheeseburger: tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo, mustard, ketchup and slice of American cheese. Also a little bit of Calibur sauce ( thousand island dressing similar to In&Out). Love the taste of the Organic burger! Add a side of garlic fries on the side and a Black&White milkshake to make it a classic meal. Close to 8 dollars before tax, it satisfies the craving!
Finally got around to trying Calibur and was not disappointed! Looking over the menu board, the offering is simple and classic. But fair warning, watch the price of additions or your burger will get real expensive, real fast with some toppings going for $1.50 (bacon and avocado, I understand...but it's a tad steep for an egg and extremely steep for mushrooms, in my opinion). I ended up ordering a single patty burger with blue cheese. For toppings, I opted for lettuce, tomato, pickles, and carmelized onions. I also chose calibur sauce as spread. My brother opted for a double patty with american cheese with the same toppings and sauce as me. We also added some calibur fries and a fountain drink. Total with tip was just over $27. Upon delivery, my burger was stacked perfectly - instaworthy for sure, if that's your thing. And on first bite, you'll be certain its no fast food burger. You can clearly taste each ingredient from the calibur sauce (Calibur's secret sauce is like thousand island with a mustardy undertone) through to the housemade ketchup (very tomato-y - like a pizza sauce). The burger itself was very juicy so make sure you keep your fingers tucked around the wrapping and keep it over the table/tray. My addition of blue cheese was pretty good, but did not come close to meeting my black and blue expectations - I think the blue cheese just wasn't funky enough. The calibur fries can be compared to In-n-Out's animal fries without the cheese. Just like the burger, the quality of ingredients is very evident. The sauce coated the fries nicely and was topped generously with perfectly carmelized onions. To wash it all down, we opted for cream soda from the fountain. Calibur sources their soda from Alameda Point Craft Soda Co - awesome! If you haven't had their soda before, you definitely should! They have some really awesome flavors (but it won't be until 2019 when you can find them bottled).
Decent burgers for the price. Well portioned fries; garlic fries come with a side so you can dip or pour over. Friendly staff, no seating indoors

I understand that things happen, but finding a hair this long in my french fries turned my stomach enough that I threw $30 worth of food in the trash. When you call the restaurant you get an automated message that asks you to leave a voicemail. You have to listen all the way through past that message in order to be able to speak to a live person and most people will not do that. When you finally do get a person, they apologize and tell you to contact the food delivery service for a refund and that’s about the extent of it.
Edited response: The pictures are cheeseburgers when their actually hamburgers. Ordered three of them on uber only to ask myself why is it so freaking dry, then it dawned on me. (No cheese) I don't think its too hard to add the correct picture right? Your clap back earned you 2 stars, made my day but Hold up, Step 1: I see a cheeseburger Step 2: (looks like a cheeseburger🤔) Step 3: I asked my bro and he said its a cheeseburger. Glad I got a 2nd opinion. Step 4: im looking hard 👀 Step 5: Why would I add extra cheese on a cheeseburger? 🤯
The food really doesn't taste unique it taste like any other frozen burger patty like from Dennys. They charge a bag Fee even if you eat there. Just give me the box the burger comes in I don't need a bag. I honestly would've been just as happy at McDonald's
I ordered a double cheese burger. Too much bun or too little meat. It was more the bun though. Removing one of the buns helped.
Burger is tasty. Fries were bit soft but would be anyway with wonderful garlic sauce you pour on it to make garlic fries. Shake was good but the lid was so tight and the straw flimsy that the straw flattened and you can’t sip the shake. Pointing this out to staff to let manager know, they just stared at me, maybe out of embarrassment or not knowing what to say. Also, in person take out orders are mixed with online orders such that they didn’t realize my order on the shelf was sitting there as I waited for my order. They should distinguish in person orders from pickup orders so the food doesn’t sit there. Prices are reasonable and food good. Would go back but they should work out the kinks in their eight month old business.
I got the veggie burger and Calibur fries. Both were aggressively mid. I ordered and told them I wanted it for here so I went to the seating outside. They ended up shouting my number from the counter after another patron walked out and abandoned my things outside to grab my food. I wish I had known to just wait inside and grab my food first. I came because I had heard their fries were excellent but they’re just slightly better than frozen. Overall disappointed by the experience but it’s probably better for those eating a meat burger.
So the pictures may be pretty but there's more to once you peel the onion back. They kinda nickel and dime for everything and the food is just aight. Overall I like the burger but it is kinda bready. You know what I'm talking about when there is too much bread for the amount of meat to veggies. The chili cheese fries were pretty good but we really went there for the burger. I've had this place a few times and it is what it is, maybe that's why they are in the West Portal.

I wouldn’t go back for the burger, it had a really odd aftertaste of sour/dirt, kind of tasted gamey or like lamb. I don’t see any other reviews mentioning this so I’m worried I had meat that was old and starting to go rancid. It just wasn’t good, the flavor was overpowering and I couldn’t even finish it. The garlic fries were amazing though and I would go back just for that! I do wish that the menu specified whether the garlic fries are the beef tallow ones or the vegetarian ones; I tried calling to ask several times but nobody ever picked up the phone. This is really important information to know for vegetarians.
Food was delicious but pricing makes no sense!! Went in person in West Portal and got myself a double cheeseburger for $13.49. I also ordered 2 puppy patties for my elderly dog on her final days and each patty was $6.99- 2 puppy patties for $13.98!! Which is more expensive than my double cheeseburger with bun, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion, and $2 more than a double burger! Make it make sense- there is less product, but more expensive! Why??

I'm sorry but the flavor of the buns is absolutely disgusting. They taste like someone accidentally put 10x the amount of sugar that was required plus some other weird ingredients that didn't belong in the recipe. They taste like a certain brand of buns that I got from Andronico's once, can't remember the brand. The staff was really polite though, and friendly. However it is weird that they don't run your food out to you when you're on the patio. They make you go inside to get it.
I really love the food at this place. Only reason for 2 stars is because of the WORST STRAWS EVER!! that come with the milkshakes. Seriously the flimsiest things. I tore off the paper and the straw ripped! They are almost completely unusable unless the milkshake is melted. IT collapses in on itself and you can't get anything through. Happy to give more stars upon fixing this issue. WORST. STRAWS. EVER!!
I don’t know what I expected, but this burger was an absolute disaster from the first bite. The bun was so soggy it disintegrated in my hands, turning into a weird paste that stuck to my fingers. The patty? A hockey puck of questionable origin—overcooked on the outside, yet somehow raw in the middle. Impressive, but not in a good way. The lettuce looked like it had been sitting out since last week, wilted and sad, and the single slice of tomato was a mushy, flavorless insult. As for the “cheese,” I’m pretty sure it was melted plastic. But the worst part? The sauce. I think they mistook ketchup for sweet chili sauce and then dumped an entire bottle on. Every bite was a fight for survival. I left the restaurant with grease dripping down my arms and a sense of existential despair. Would not recommend unless you’re trying to punish yourself.
Burger and fry taste was mediocre and it gave me a terrible headache after eating. I ended up throwing it all up about 2 hours later.
Ordered some lettuce wrapped burgers lettuce tasted and smelled like it had been sitting in an unplugged fridge for a month. Burger was super medium over cooked and it just felt like something I could make at home
