Best Mexican I ever had. It's not fancy, but it has heart. Closes early in the evening :-/
Came here for breakfast. Food was fresh, service was good.
Great lunch with alambres and fresh made tortillas. The price super cheap.
Great food, service, and very healthy orchards in the restaurant- which I believe is the sign of people who care!
Delish food! Have had a burrito and tacos! Busy, delish and friendly vibes!
Wonderful, authentic food. Great people. Worth a trip.

The carne asada tortas are simple but perfect! Great value as well.
It's an awesome little place. Good service, and amazing food, do get here early it does get busy, I highly recommend the tortas they are to die for. But like I said before get here early and btw doña mago it's on the kitchen making sure the food gets done right.
Egg tacos and burritos are delish!
Have only gotten their Chile Relleno burrito, but liked it so much I've been here three times since to eat exactly that!
Great food and friendly service in a fun authentic atmosphere. Great value!
I love their Super carnitas burrito!! Their carnitas is good... I always taste good meat & not pieces of fat like at other places... This place has very yummy burritos...

I absolutely love this place. The food is great and prices are reasonable...
Unassuming neighborhood Mexican eatery. I like coming here for lunch. Personal favorite is caldo de res. Always hits the spot on a chilly day.

Great food, good service, simple interior. Enchilades verdes were the best I've had in a while. Quesadillas are a step above the rest. Prices are reasonable. This may become our go-to Mexican restaurant.

Amazing food - super fresh and had seriously the best customer service. Would super recommend — watched someone at a table next to me literally say the same thing
Wow...I had tacos de carne asada with water melon juice and it was really good. Hot chocolate was perfect. I was with other friends and they were impressed with Alambres. The portions were very generous. The staff was very polite and friendly. The environment was very welcoming.
Local Mexican restaurant @ the corner of 14th and So Van Ness. Mexican favorites in a simple comfortable friendly setting at the edge of the Mission, near Soma. Foods was good n fresh. Prices reasonable service was good as well be in this quaint cute spot. Give them a try.
My family and I are from Sacramento and we come to San Francisco once or twice a year and always try new restaurants, because of covid so many restaurants were closed but we found Dona Mago and decided to give it a try. It did NOT disappoint!! We got 4 carnita tacos and a Chile relleno and OMG hands down best tacos but most importantly the best Chile relleno I've ever eaten!!!! We will be back! Thanks for the delicious food. I wish I could hug the woman in the back that made our food. Yum!!
Dona Mago is Home made Mexican food at it's tastiest Best. I go there every week, sometimes every other day! Go there. Treat yourself to a fine feast, say hello to El Campion, and La Campoina.
Amazing food! They are really kind too. Their customer service is great. They talk to you if they are not busy too! They deserve more customers!
My burrito spot on my block which I love dearly. Inside there is a sweet man who looks like Mark Ruffalo and treats everyone so kindly.
Amazing food and amazing customer service! 10/10 recommend. It is a nice little spot, and the food is made so well. Thank you!
Myyy goodness that was a good burrito. Nice team and nice place. Affordable
I stopped in for lunch last weekend after running some mid-day errands. It's a very modest restaurant, but I was very impressed with the quality of my meal, from the salsa with my chips as the appetizer to my enchilada plate to the watermelon cooler (I can't recall exactly what it was called). Coming from AZ, I haven't been impressed with the quality of Mexican food in the bay area in general, but this is an exception. It was very good imo, and a good value. The staff was also friendly. It was a nice surprise on my Saturday, and I'll come here again if I'm nearby.

Nice traditional food. As a Latin American I feel like home when I get food from this restaurant
Really good Mexican food. But almost everything is spicy hot 🥵🥵
Got there just in time for a burrito before closing
I went in because I was curious I've seen the place every time I walk by. I liked it a lot a nice humble place to eat good Mexican food. I come from a Mexican background and honestly I loved it. I would definitely go back.
Popular for lunch! Great prawn burrito, good seating inside, but only one table outside. Reasonable prices.
Really great food and salsa, the tortillas are the best Today i had the Friday fried Tilapia 👍👍👍👍👍 fantastic

Small eatery and small tables/chairs, but the food was great. I ordered a carnitas burrito and a single taco. Some of the meat in burrito was pretty fatty which I had to put aside. Prices did raise, as the burrito costed 11$ and the taco 4$. Overall a good place for some quick food. Was only place in the lower price range that looked good nearby at the time. Another Mexican eatery across the street costed nearly triple in price on their food.
I love the homestyle cooking. Prices are lower than most other similar Mexican restaurants in its category iin the area. They offer daily specials featuring at least 2 different meals. The staff is friendly and helpful and will fix and adjust your plate just how you like it (unlike other restaurants). Service is fast whether busy or not but faster when it's slow. There is no music but there are 3 large screen TVs (with no sound). I've seen street musicians come in and sing and play their guitars which is great. You can pay by phone too and there is tip jar at the register too. Take-out menus are available. This is a family-owned restaurant that's been around for decades. Give it a try and support local, small, family-owned businesses.

This was lunch time downtown San Francisco about six tables in the restaurant only two were being used me and my friend ordered to eat there I ordered a burrito with no beans and a Coke. And the person behind the counter offered chips and salsa, we sat at our table we a small bowl of chips and no salsa at first and then he brought out our drinks and he brought me a Diet Pepsi then minutes later he brought out the salsa, then when our two burritos were delivered guess what ingredient was in my chicken burrito.. beans of which I am allergic. That is my experience I hope yours is better.
I came into this corner Mexican restaurant with my uncle that I never been too closer to Soma. Ordered in Spanish for a burrito majado. My uncle had a super and we got our food. The presentation was on point, yet I wish I knew there consistency with avocado through the burrito. If I did I would of said none it was too much. The steak in the burrito was bland, like the seasoning didn't go through and the majado sauce was green instead of my accustomed red. Next time here will be different and I will see about the chicken I have read about. 3 stars.

Got a carnitas burrito that was burnt to a crisp. The meat was unchewable, it was SO rock hard, and made the whole thing taste like burnt gravy even tho I tried picking it out.
The food have no taste. . .even "the carne asada plate" no salt or any flavor on the meat 👎, also "the caldo de res" is not hot enough and not a good flavor...👎
Pozole was too greasy and too spicy.. Shrimp were over fried and tortillas were kind of hard around edges...
I hate having to write this, definitely miss the previous owners. I placed a phone order and got to the place 10 minutes after. Ordered a menudo, it was basically room temperature and a carne asada torta, it was the smallest steak portion I've gotten compared to any other place here in the city. I am very heartbroken 💔 😞
I was physically attacked in the evening and needed EMS. My clothes were even ripped from barely escaping this homeless mans violent clutches.i was scared and the only place that was open and close by was this Dona Mago place. It was a half a block away from where I was attacked. When I walked into Dona Mago and asked if they could call for me they looked at me, told me "No" and told me to leave. I was shocked at the humanity of it all. The only way I managed to get help was a customer called for me. Thank you Dona Magos !
