This has been the best food ever We never have trouble getting a table here if there's a wait it's normally around 20mins max Every thing on the menu is delicious Priced right for this economy and the serving is great We come here about every few months or so. The wait staff is so very friendly and helpful Eating outside is great especially on the sunny days
I’ll be back! They serve food with fresh homemade tortillas, fresh salsa, limes, cilantro, and onion. The quesabirria is the best I’ve had by far in the bay. The cucumber pineapple agua Fresca was a delight. Don’t skip this spot!!
Stopped by this place on a Saturday afternoon. They have a nice streetside patio, calm but lively, perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were all friendly and attentive, and the manager or maybe the owner was personally checking in with every table, which you don’t see often. Really solid customer service all around. I went with the spinach omelette, a great option if you’re skipping meat. The portion was generous, and the warm tortillas on the side were easily some of the best I’ve had. You could tell they were freshly made. It’s tucked away on a quiet, safe street with bike parking nearby, which worked out well since I rode over. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality and service. Overall, great food, good energy, and people who genuinely care about what they do. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent breakfast burritos and chilaquiles for Sunday brunch! We really liked the cozy outdoor seating with lots of tables available. The omelets were solid but a bit over-fried. Pricing is excellent with most dishes under $12. Cash only.
I am sitting in this restaurant and am completely awestruck. This food is breathtaking, I am from San Antonio, Texas. I grew up around this style of food. “But” they are hands down the best I have tasted. Every bite is a blessing from these men. They are very kind and welcoming. Me and my wife came early when they were nearly setting up, but still welcomed us in. It was very fast service but not rushed as in quality. The quality of service and food is very good. I know they will be around for a very long time, due to the quality all the way around. If you are reading this and have not came in then you should. And if you have, you need to come again.
I love Chilaquiles! I had mine for breakfast, but they're great for lunch and dinner too. I ordered them with chicken at Gallardos, and they were delicious!!! Their portions are very generous and less expensive than most places. I couldn't finish it in one sitting, so i ended up having three meals out of it. The tortilla was moist but crunchy just the way I like it. Every bite was so flavourful. They also give 3 or 4 tortillas on the side. And what I liked about the side tortillas was they cooked them longer than most places that end up leaving them tasting raw and dry. I will be going back to see what other tasty dishes I can try.
Found out about this place from a friend recommendation and writing this review to inspire you to check it out! Just be aware that it is cash only. The ambiance feels like you’re in a cozy restaurant in Mexico. Ordered the chilaquiles and was thoroughly impressed. The right amount of spice and flavor, the chips were perfectly covered in sauce, and not soggy. It came with rice and beans, which were also fantastic. It can definitely get busy, but the service is still friendly and caring. Will definitely be coming back again (and again)!
The service was excellent and quick! I would return just for their pozole—it's the best in town, in my opinion. We also tried the carnitas plate, which tasted incredibly authentic. The dishes aren't fancy, but the flavors and authenticity truly stand out. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu!
Authentic Mexican food and great brunch on weekends. Birria is only available on weekends and delicious, though on the greaser side. Did not like the steak taco as much but I'll come back for more Quessabirria for sure. Inside has a lot of character with vintage movie pictures. Outside seating is cute too.
The food is consistently very good. The Pozole was excellent. This restaurant has been here a long time. I often go here when I am in the City, which is not often, Their portions are generous, and the service is fast. Si, if you are very hungry Or have hangry people in your group this place will has got you covered. This pace is very typical for the Mission district. The walls are decorated with large pictures of all the stars alfrom the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema.
We had the Menudo and it did need some more chillis to add more flavor to the food. It is very good other wise , good size portion. They serve with hand made tortillas and plenty of sides. The salsa does have some kick. Overall very good. Only complaint it was cold and rainy day a day they left a back door open that created a cold draft throughout. Had to wear my coat inside.
A decent and cheap Mexican place - the food is really simple but also I wasn't that pleased with my dish. Good: - The prices are great - about $11 for an entree and it feels like you get a really good deal - Portion sizes are huge Bad: - There were flies around and it felt a little more messy - Hard to get the attention of servers and the service was slow - The enchiladas were a little bland Overall wouldn't come back but this place felt authentic and that it was a local business.
No disrespect to anyone I gave this place a couple tries before I decided to write a review. i come from a traditional mexican background. I'm very familiar with traditional recipes. When it comes to mexican food. I understand some of these dishes may be altered to taylor more, to the American palate. With that said the only thing I can honestly recommend from this place. Are there soups. I tried their enchiladas.I try their fajitas and the dishes overwhelming plates full of glop. Overbearing sauce with tons of cheese and sour cream, and i'm not sure if the sauces are actually made from scratch or our ofna can for the enchiladas. I had the same waitress twice. It looked like she was upset, not very friendly at all. but it is what it is. My review is based on the food, but service should matter as well. I can see this place is very well established, and I'm sure the local people enjoy it for what it is. So to summarize for someone who doesn't live in San francisco would not recommend for anybody to drive out here and I am not coming back.
Disgusting, I will never be back. Service is extremely slow, once you wait 30 minutes for the bill to come they let you know they do not accept credit cards. Air conditioning not working! We ordered menudo because of a review that stated it was the best I town and what do you know, IT WAS DISGUSTING, not washed properly and smelly tripe, abnormally greasy when served in the bowl, to the point of upsetting your palate and stomach. We then proceeded to give a second chance on the same day and put the menudo to the side and ordered chilaquiles that were plated nasty looked like vomit, also ordered ham and eggs and they mixed bell pepper ( what Mexican place uses bell pepper as a mix of veggies?) It's supposed to be jalapeño or Serrano. Again greasy did not eat anything and will never be back! Icing on the cake for 4 non-edible plates the bill was almost $90 dollars. 🤮!!!!! I will post pictures, but do not let them deceive you!!!!!
I rarely leave bad reviews, but this one needs to be a warning for future customers. I came here with my family on a Saturday night. It wasn’t busy at all—only two groups were dining—yet our waitress was rude from the start. It was freezing outside, and she insisted on seating us at the table right next to the open door. When I asked to move to one of the many empty tables inside, she refused and said she would “keep the door closed,” which didn’t happen. After about 10 minutes, another waitress finally let us move. Service was terrible. She took our order, dropped the food, and disappeared until I finally had to flag her down for the check. Then she told us it was cash only, even though none of us had cash or debit cards. A customer before us was allowed to pay via Zelle, but she initially refused when I asked. Only after I questioned it did she say, “Fine, just this once,” and then oddly asked me to show proof of payment when we left—even though she never asked the previous customer to do the same. The Zelle payment went directly to the owner, who was seated next to us, and he had to confirm that I paid. He was polite to us. I’ve never felt so unwanted at a restaurant. I was in town visiting home for the holidays, and this experience was super disappointing for me and my family. Customer service: 0/5 Food: 3/5 pozole was good. Everything else is just decent, there are far better Mexican restaurants in SF)
One star off immediately for keeping both the front/back doors wide open on a day with temperatures down in the 40s, not a fan of dining indoors with icy cold temperatures. This shows they care more about their own comfort than that of their customers. Service is very spotty. Practically choking on my chips/salsa waiting for the server to bring a glass of water. Super carnitas burrito meat was old, dry and tough. The meat was not fresh at all, ruined the entire burrito. The chips and salsa tasted good. The prices are reasonable, but the quality is really lacking. Would I eat here again? Definitely not
