Happy Donuts is an above average donut shop. It is open 24 hours a day and can get quite busy late at night as it is the only place open for some distance. It is cash only but there is an ATM machine in the store incase you need it.
Very good donuts!! Fresh coffee. Fresh donuts. Service is very nice. Just a cute place to grab a dozen
No frills, but amazing classic glazed donut
Just realized this place sold sandwiches as well!! Just had my first egg salad sando and it was bomb! Will definitely be going again.
The donuts were so fresh, warm and pillowy soft even at 10pm! Probably the freshest donuts I've had at such a late hour. Also saw an older gentleman prepping the next batch by hand. It's open 24/7, and they're a hard working family. This is the type of establishment I wish good fortune and success to
Stopped in for some late night donuts the other day. Left with an assorted bag and all were fabulous. The reason I’m writing this review though is the glazed raised doughnut we had fresh from the fryer. Unbelievable.
I love this place! Saturday morning ritual with my little.
This is a really lovely neighborhood spot. Casual, tasty, with excellent service. Apple fritter or croissant sando with egg and cheese, you can't go wrong. One of the few 24-hour spots in the city, so it's great anytime!
I enjoy stopping in for a sour cream muffin and a coffee. The ladies are always pleasant and ready for my order. Good hot coffee, the best pastries, a great way to start the day.
These are the nicest people. Makes me miss home in Ohio where everyone is nice and welcoming. Anywho, you want a delicious donut or breakfast sandwich without breaking your bank, this is the place. For $10 you can get a croissant and coffee and their croissants are delicious. It's cash only but worth it.
24 hour joint in SF gets 5 stars because so free places in this city are open 24 hours. The donuts here are good, the sandwiches are quite good (and made fresh), the coffee is passable. But the most important thing for me is that this is a 24 hour shop. Staff is often quite pleasant (though I know they get some drink people in and can be feisty as a result).
This place is amazing I flew in from Utah and never had donuts like this in my life I can tell ingredients are amazing almost like made from duck eggs because of how soft they are like a perfectly toasted marshmallow soft on the inside and toasty in the outside delicious fresh prefect texture and quality everyone should come here
This is a very friendly place. Nice donuts and coffee. Love the iced mocha. One of the few remaining donut and coffee places They accept credit cards only for purchases above $10. So do keep this in mind
Rarely are you impressed with your second choice. The usual place I get donuts on Sunday mornings was closed for a remodel and I went here, damn!!! I'm had I did. Donuts were great and the staff was super chill. We all loved the donuts, seems like I may be switching it up.
Such delicious donuts! Saw them come out fresh as we were ordering at around midnight. Staff is friendly & atmosphere was great! Definitely coming back again.
Good pastries and breakfast sandwiches at reasonable prices with charming, timeless ambiance. They're open 24 hours, and they make a fresh batch of donuts around midnight as well as in the morning. Can't recommend highly enough -- every neighborhood should have a Happy Donut!
I love love love this place. Thier donuts are always fresh. The staff is so nice especially to the kids. They recently had a remodel and downsized. Place still looks nice. Donuts still delicious. They even have mango, guava and blueberry donuts. Can you say delicious. Best donuts in the mission. Me and my family have been coming here for years. Would have taken more pictures but I was too busy eating.
The smell of coffee and donuts caught my attention while I was driving by. This place by far has amazing donuts. Soft and fluffy with no aftertaste on the glaze( yes I have had donuts with an aftertaste) Prices are not bad, would highly recommend! Very friendly staff too.
I litterally have spent entire days and nights here. I highly reccomend their breakfast bagel sandwiches(bacon/egg/cheese), mango smoothies, hot chocolate, old fashioned donuts, and their French roast coffee is fine by me. I haven’t been anytime in the last year but the staff are generally nice, I was a regular middle school through high school I no longer live in the area, but I really do miss it. They have an atm as it is a cash only facility. They are open 24/7 I have only ever seen them closed when they remodeled and updated the space and I was not a happy camper. They’re bathroom is generally clean, you do have to ask for a key tho. I’m not sure if it’s open now tho due to Covid. But anytime your in Noe Valley deffinetly stop by and enjoy a donut and be happy.
24/7 place. I love the concept of can get a breakfast menu at any hour. Awesome pastries, and delicious bagels. I can live here.

I visit SF 1-2 times a year and this is the spot I remember most for their fluffy donuts and delicious breakfast sandwiches
Best donut shop! They're very simple but delicious! Soft and light.
Used to visit all the time years ago when my kids were little. Stopped by to grab donuts to bring to work. Still the best classic donuts. Can't go wrong, they all delicious, especially the donut holes. Yummy
Pastries are consistently fresh, generously sized, with some styles selling out of stock quickly due to popularity. The maple frosting they use is heavenly. For savory options, you can’t go wrong with any of the numerous sandwiches options; particularly anything on a croissant is sure to satisfy. Service is consistently pleasant, prompt, and accommodating. Of note - although happily accepting credit/debit cards, skip the plastic and pay with physical cash to save on your purchase. Don’t forget - tipping is good karma 💫
Wanted late-night donuts, and these were glorious! So fresh and soft and delicious! They were good for a couple days even. And the price was great too. I’ll definitely be back for more.
Our bus dropped us off right infront of this happy donuts and OMG. The best donut holes I have ever had. Truly. They were just made so they were so soft and melted in my mouth.
Best. Coffee. Ever. Always fresh because it's always sold so fast. 24/7 great donuts and breakfast sandwiches, a bit pricey but worth it for the fact I've never in ten years of being a patron, never stale, never day old, best in town.
I love 24-hour donut shops.. This is one of them and actually it's been here in Redwood City since I was a kid, which was a long time ago..lol

Found a hair in my breakfast croissant twice and once in a apple fritter all within a month, these gals should start wearing hairnets to solve this problem, hair in food for me is a gagger 🤢
1.95 for a donut is pretty steep but hey I haven't purchased 1 in a long time but from feedback it was good so it worked out.
Really nice lady working the front. The donuts were good and tasted fresh, even tho we stopped by at like 7pm. Probably not the best donuts I've ever had, but they were still good and satisfied the craving. Donuts are kinda a personal preference thing so certainly YMMV. I'd go back again.
Happy Donuts is your average Asian owned donut spot they have a good selection of donuts baked goods and make sandwiches and bagels. Coffee is always hot and ready and a pretty good sized selection of cold drinks is available. The shop is Open 24 hours in a otherwise dead after 10pm neighborhood has booths at the windows which is nice for talking with friends or with your partner in between dispatches. I'd give them 5 stars but while no means bad they are not in my top 3 as far as these joints go. I'm happy to eat there donuts but wouldn't want 3 or 4 as some places make me.
One of the few 24 hour places in the city. Their donuts are really best when they are super fresh. They have made my night more then once at 1am. Particularly the glazed old fashioned. 4 starts cus the one time I had donuts during the day they were okay.
Still delicious after all these years, everything is freshly made. The lady is still friendly, not sure she recognized me after 7 years but it was still the same only the menu is new (same food though). Will definitely try to get over there more, we moved out of the area 9 years ago.
First stop on our Saturday afternoon donut crawl: - jelly donut: gooey raspberry filling, very fluffy, good fluff to jelly ratio -apple fritter: large and very fried. Some parts more fried than others, to the point of being quite crunchy. Occasionally felt like the fry oil came out in my mouth when I crunched down (though not super unpleasant tbh). not much apple flavor, few apple bits but barely detectable -chocolate glazed: good, though not the fluffiest ever. Chocolate flavor almost undetectable. So, don't expect a chocolate experience. Points for oily indulgence, sweet friendly service, adorable children building forts in the store, and the $5 masks made by one of the worker's aunty. Love it

Food was good I had a pastrami sandwich it was small but a good snack I guess

One should not complain about a place open 24 hours a day in SF, so I won't... It's a great place to go if you don't mind a stoic and less than friendly staff, but they do have a restroom (if you purchase something) and the donuts are reasonably good. The coffee needs a lot of help... And like I said, they are open 24/-.
Although I am all for supporting small businesses, I don’t like being conned. After buying donut holes from this place for my friends many times, they randomly imposed a rule that they cannot give their pink boxes for under $20 donut orders without an additional charge. I have never been charged for a box until today and the random rule/charge was not listed anywhere. They claimed they had no small boxes and even after showing photo proof of my previous purchases with the small box, the owners were adamant about this rule existing previously.
Went a couple weeks ago and the donuts were ok. Went back this morning and will not return. First the lady couldn't understand when I was asking if they had bottle orange juice because the cooler was only half full. Then I ordered a chocolate old fashioned and a maple bar. Old fashioned are supposed to be crunchy on the edges and bottom. Mine was soft and doughy, not done right. Oh well, I still have a maple bar. When I pulled the maple bar out of the bag, I was thinking "geez this thing is heavy" only to find out on my first bite that it was filled with custard. Who fills a traditional maple bar with custard! Will never go back here again.
Never coming back!!! All I ordered was a donut. When paying the screen told me to tip. Yup? For what?!? For doing her job? All she did was put a donut in a bag; it took less than 20 seconds! When I hit no tip. She made a grunting noise and gave me the stink eye, like I’m the bad guy that didn’t pay her fair working wages. What did forcing people to tip became the norm?
If you're going to put on clean latex gloves to prepare my sandwich, then please refrain from taking cash from customer using the same gloves while you're preparing my meal. The idea with gloves is that you prepare my food and AVOID touching anything full of germs, especially filthy paper money. I also dislike the dozens of flies that call this place home. Close the door and spend some money on a proper ventilation system or equipment. Food is fine, not great but not bad.
I was just informed that they have raised their price for hot water to $1.00 from $0.50, even if you bring your own cup. For the last two mornings I was given water that turned out to be lukewarm and ruined my entire beverage and therefore my entire morning. Hot water is still free at Starbucks, and it is always scalding hot... They're supposed to charge you $0.50 for a cup, but they almost never do when I don't have one. Charging $1 for some lukewarm water is absolutely and utterly ridiculous. Sure, it doesn't sound like much, but they have literally doubled the price. I get one in the morning and one in the evening and that would be $60 a month. 🙄
Food is always good never disappoints but after today never again I opened my bag of pastries and noticed a hair on the food which is very off puting and disgusting. No hair nets were worn so this is bound to happen again unfortunately
Very disappointed with the service. I really needed to use the restroom and the two ladies refused even though I purchased 2 items and coffee. Why are they not taking credit cards in 2022? Donuts were fine but the service just isn’t there.
