Had an amazing experience at loud table. The service was stopped notch and the waiters and waitresses were really kind and always had a smile on their face coming to the food. It was phenomenal the fried rice, the fried platter. The lamp curry was so good and so fulfilling. I was also in love with the ice tea that they served, tasted amazing, and one of the best ice tea that I had in my entire life. Would love to go here again.
Delicious food! Get mild unless you're sure you can handle spice. Service was ok. Try the anchovy sundae! Tom yum, watermelon salad, papaya salad, and eggplant tofu were great. Portions are really good.
This place absolutely exceeded my expectations. The place is primarily Vietnamese but you would find Thai flavours. Such a wide variety of items in here - and everything is finger licking good. I absolutely had a feast here. I got Chicken Friend rice and it was good - not the best but above average. For the table fish platter was also exquisite. I can't recall which fish was that but it was really great..it also came up with so.many other item such as chicken wings. The seafood sizzling tom yum probably tasted the best. Thoughly enjoyed it. The Belgian beer they server was one of the best. In isolation probably every food I tried, I can find a better and slightly tastier version but a single place delivering and maintaining above average food quality over such a wide spectrum is rare. The ambience and environment was great. The place became super noisy later in the evening but it was so much fun dining out here.
The ambiance is beautiful and inviting. I love the decor and soft purple and pink lighting. The restaurant is great for groups as you can order large platters of the samples - trying a bit of everything whether meat or seafood. We ordered the Garden Fish - Crispy whole tilapia, Lao sausage, beef jerky, garlic chicken wings, peanut papaya salad paired with vermicelli, sticky rice, leafy greens and soft herbs. We also ordered the Original Lao Platter: fried chicken, larb duck Pakxe, “Tom Zaab” hot & spicy beef soup, Lao sausage, pad mee Lao paired with sticky rice and soft herbs. It was enough to feed six! Service was a little slow - you really have to get their attention because it's so busy. But they did a nice dessert presentation for my mom's birthday. Also try the Tom Yum Beer that was brewed in partnership with the restaurant!
Absolutely delicious Thai and Laotian food and beautiful presentation! They provided a variety of choices for authentic Thai and Lao food and desserts. Perfect location near public transit - my classmates and I went to celebrate a birthday after school. Very friendly and attentive service. Recommend to make a reservation for big groups.
Absolutely delightful! I came to Lao Table for my anniversary dinner, and it 100% did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the service was super friendly. We shared the vegetable crispy rolls, red curry with tofu, and khaw kai noodles, all of which were fantastic. We started with the vegetable crispy rolls, which, as the name implies, were packed with veggies (and flavor) and were perfectly crispy. The outer shell was fried to perfection, and the super thin, crispy, flaky shell beautifully contrasted vs. the well-spiced and soft filling. To add to the contrast, the rolls were also served with lettuce, rice noodles, and a variety of herbs that you can use to assemble a lettuce wrap. The crunchy, uber-fresh lettuce and fragrant herbs added a great new dimension to the rolls. It was served with a sweet, sour, and spicy chili sauce (typically also served with peanuts, but I'm allergic), which was a great pairing. For entrees, we split the red curry and khaw kai noodles. The curry was tasty and absolutely packed with veggies, although I think it was a little less flavorful and less packed with tofu than I had expected. The khaw kai noodles, however, were absolutely phenomenal; the noodles were a beautiful harmony of sweet, salty, and sour flavors, and I loved the added char from the wok. They were pretty generous with the prawns, and I loved the added accoutrements: crispy garlic, bean sprouts, and sliced egg. The space was also lovely -- not overly fancy (so maybe not most folks' cup of tea for a date or anniversary dinner, but it worked well for us) but still beautiful. I loved the giant lanterns and golden leaves hanging from the ceiling, and the space felt intimate but not overly crowded. The servers were super friendly and helpful, although they seemed to still be working through a few kinks in communication between the front and back-end of the house. I have a severe peanut allergy that our server (who was lovely) noted down, but the kitchen did not notice. Thankfully the peanuts in the first item (vegetable spring rolls) were extremely obvious, so we were able to catch it.
Having schooled on Laotian cuisine through close friends, this place certainly maintains its roots of authenticity while infusing modern flavors. Winners from the dishes ordered were the beef tartare (really good) and the grilled cuttlefish. The satay fell flat in spice and texture compared to those from other neighboring countries like Indonesia and Malaysia where satay originated . Then again, Lao style satay is an adaptation. The list of cocktails were creative and playful in color and Asian fruit flavors. Highly recommended. Staffs were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the dining experience in an authentic comfortable ambiance.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with Tasha, the General Manager, and the incredible team at Lao Table for a Lao Cooking class event last week, and I can't recommend them enough! As a Lifestyle and Events Manager at a nearby property, I work closely with many vendors, and this experience truly stood out. From start to finish, Tasha and her team were nothing short of professional, ensuring every detail of the event went smoothly. The team was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all our residents. The cooking instruction was top-notch, and the quality of ingredients used was exceptional. My residents were absolutely delighted with the experience—it was a definite highlight of our programming. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the incredible flavors and techniques of Lao cuisine. I received so much positive feedback from the residents, and many expressed how much they enjoyed learning something new while enjoying a meal together. I highly recommend Lao Table and their amazing team for anyone seeking fantastic food, exceptional service, and a memorable experience. They’ve definitely earned their spot as a neighborhood favorite in the East Cut, and I look forward to collaborating again in the future!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When in San Francisco, don’t miss out on visiting Lao Table, a renowned Thai-Lao restaurant in the city. Thank you for the warm hospitality! The flavors were absolutely delightful—each dish was rich, authentic, and beautifully presented. The perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients truly brought out the essence of Thai-Lao cuisine. From the savory curries to the perfectly grilled meats and fresh, zesty salads, every bite was a burst of flavor. The atmosphere was equally impressive—modern, stylish, and cozy, with a welcoming vibe that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. To top it off, their full bar offered an excellent selection of crafted cocktails, fine wines, and refreshing beverages that paired perfectly with the meal. It was not just a dinner, but an unforgettable experience where quality meets great value. Definitely a must-visit! ❤️
This gorgeous and very clean place is a lunchtime gem! The food was amazing – super flavorful, with options for everyone. My vegan friend was happy with their selections too. Service was on point too, with our meals arriving quickly. They even have a full bar for those interested. Just a heads up that gratuity is already included in the check, so factor that in when paying. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, especially for lunch, because they get quite busy.
Love Lao and this place did not disappoint. Mak Bah (fish) was just like grandma! Enjoyed the Thai style dishes as well, red curry, and fresh rolls. And the Mango rice dessert is a must!

Yummy, though not very homey, Laotian food in glass-and-steel surroundings typical of downtown. An elevated take on Southeast Asian. Tour the menu with the all-around crowd-pleasing Original Lao Platter. Easily shareable amongst 3, a very filling meal for just 2. Highlights include Fried Chicken (topped with fried shallots) accompanied with a sweet-savory, lemongrass-fragrant curry dipping sauce. Duck Larb, a delicate protein-rich salad mixed with handfuls of fresh herbs (mint, dill, cilantro, Thai basil) and served with lettuce wraps. A good ethnic option when downtown.
Have been here before ordering other things but this time I got the duck pho and the emperor cocktail. The pho wasn’t really pho, there was only a small bowl of soup provided, but it was still good. I would order something else though. The emperor cocktail was unlocked in a smoked enclosure and was really a nice experience to get. Drink was good and I’d be interested to try something else. I remembered their cocktails being good so I enjoyed going back. On the pricier side, but what isnt in SF!
Really great flavors, good service and elevated atmosphere. The eggplant dish was our favorite. Slightly salty but so delicious and perfect with rice. The wings were excellent though the garlic was probably slightly burnt. The Khaw Kai noodles were cooked perfectly though slight under seasoned, it was a nice complement to the eggplant. Highly recommend.

me and my friend decided to hit up lao table after hearing about their dessert combo online, but then we also decided to get their happy hour deal b/c we thought it was a deal ($40 for 10pcs ousters, chicken wings, sausage) but we were sadly disappointed the presentation was definitely nice but the platter was much smaller than we expected 😕 the oysters are understandable but ~8pcs of calamari rings, ~4pcs chicken wings, and a small cut of saysages for $25 (given that they have a $1.5 oyster happy hour) is not worth the price their dessert combo for the mango ice and mango sticky rice was good but also smaller than seen in pictures. the rice was a bit hard, but that was alright. the waiter that came out did help us with the dessert and pouring it, but did not ask us if we would like it poured, which was a bit unfortunately since we wanted to do it ourselves, but that’s fine their service was inattentive and slow. no waiters checked on us and since we had ordered the dessert same time as we ordered the platter and asked to get it after we had eaten, i had expected them to check in on us to see when we were done. however they didn’t so i had raised my hand to get attention and had also tried calling out to get attention, where the waiter, who had seated us and taken our orders, saw me raising my hand, and simply just walked away. it was only i had spoke to another waiter walking pass til we could clear our plates and get dessert, but the wait time on the dessert was long. i wouldn’t come here again, but hopefully others have better experiences, given that i did not try their entrees.
We went in for lunch and were really looking forward to finding out what Laotian cuisine was but ended up being mildly disappointed. We ordered a shareable platter, lamb curry, crispy tilapia and veggie spring rolls. The Tilapia was very bland and the sauce didn't pack enough of a punch to make up for it. The papaya salad was solid, the curry a little too rich for our taste and the rest of the food was unremarkable. Still couldn't pin point the signature flavors of Laos food (maybe need to try more dishes) and wished we had went to a mom and pop Vietnamese or Thai restaurant for 2/3 the price. Overall great atmosphere, very nice service but not worth the price.
Pricey and kind of a hit or miss for some of the food. Ordered several appetizers (calamari and chicken skewers were lowkey not worth it in my opinion), the moo ping, (it was good but again nothing too special) and tom yum soup which lacked the authentic flavor and tasted like basic chicken soup. For our main we ordered the green curry with beef short rib which was a stand out! Very rich and creamy and the beef was super tender. However it’s a quality u would expect if you pay $40 for it. Would only come for fancy dinners!!
PROS Quality of food is fine, position is good, great bar and price is aligned CONS Service a but to speed up, maybe enforced bags in the delivery. The bag we had crashed and we were lucky to have…

Lao Table The space is beautifully decorated and definitely gives off an upscale vibe that complements the menu. The food was good, but the prices felt high for the overall experience. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing during my visit—servers were standing around chatting, and when it came time to pay, the check was placed on the table in a rushed, careless manner. For a place with premium pricing, I expected much better service. I’m not likely to return, and would recommend checking out hed verythai as a solid alternative.
