Food is delicious, quick, and plentiful. The staff are super friendly and quick. They recently remodeled the whole place and it looks great. Best place to grab a quick lunch or take out. Absolutely love their salsa bar.
Best Burrito Of My Life!!! Loved this place! Loved the art and all the history on the walls, loved the staff, and most importantly, LOVED THE FOOD! Some of the best Chorizo I've ever had in my entire life! Was just eating it out of my open Burrito in a food high at some points!
This place has been here for as long as I've known. Friendly staff, decor is great, food is great and well priced and it's situated in the heart of the Richmond and a bit near Laurel Village just north of the restaurant. Also near it is Roosevelt Middle School and BevMo. But seriously the food is fantastic. Get the Fajita Burrito. Every time I'm there I get that and it's amazingly great. The meat is marinated and they give you a handful of tortilla chips and the sauces ranges from mild to hot and they're really hot. If you're near the Richmond district and don't want to drive to the mission for Mexican food, go here.
Hopeful this place opens again. It’s simple and was welcoming enough that I’d frequent over my fav burrito spot. The weather and location made it so comforting. They stand out and can guarantee this food is tasty.
This was such a happening place with really cute attendants. I ate veggie taco and honestly to the points of licking my plate. It was fresh, home cooked and hell of delicious. I loved that they were playing Mexican music and the interior of the place would transport you to Mexico itself. They had variety of home cooked Salsa and peco de galo. I would come back to this place again and again. The pricing was not bad at all and they had good variety of meat and veggies dishes. Some of the dishes on there menu were those that I have rarely found on other Mexican restaurants. They have ample space inside with a few tables for outside sitting on a nice day out. Other than the food, the local and international variety of drinks was also plenty.
Awesome awesome fresh Mexican food... handmade guac with real avocados can be eaten here! Add to that a good selection of imported beers and homemade flan! I recommend the Carnitas...good homemade Mexican food! Will return!
One of the best Mexican foods I have ever had since 2013 in SF Bay Area . Only downside is that it is a bit pricey.
Pancho's is a standard restaurant for San Francisco Mexican cuisine. You will find good portions and service, and most of the menu items are tasty. I wouldn't classify this particular place as super unique in the particular area of food taste, but the restaurant stands out in the friendliness of the servers and the chefs.
Such great place! The carnitas are so tender and full of flavors!! Salsas are all so good!
The Birria Taco is amazing. Draws me here too often. Lots of tender meat with condiments and a yummy dipping sauce. You need lots of napkins.
My boyfriend (an SF native) and his family have raved about this place and I finally got to try it and it definitely lived up to the expectations! The place was overall clean and well-kept, with an easy to read menu that has plenty of options! I got a chicken quesadilla, which was hot and the perfect level of firmness (not soggy and not too crispy)! Their salsa and guacamole with chips was also tasty! They have a bit of variety for salsa which was nice! My boyfriend got the rice, which was yummy as well! I’d definitely come back! This is as authentic as it gets people!
Standard family taco place. Carnitas is delicious and their birria looks great. Decent pricing for how yummy it is. They clearly don’t cut corners and handmake their tortillas in-house, and the carnitas is clearly braised with all the right aromatics for a long time to be so tender. Yummy. And the medium salsa (green) actually has a little kick to it thankfully, I know places have to dim the spice for Americans but as someone who loves eating a straight up jalapeño, their salsas are authentic to salsas I have had in Mexico. And had lunch for under $15 which can’t complain.
Just a great overall experience. Great succulent and scrumptious meat when I order the burrito. I thought the decor was really great, with all of the authentic poster and vibrant paint color. 10/10 would recommend eating here, no matter your food preferences, there is something for everyone.
Steak and shrimp burrito is fire! Don't forget the sour cream and guacamole! The workers are always friendly. Made it a min late After closing and they didn't send me away!! Made my night as I didn't eat all day and been craving it!
The service and food is absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere is like a beautiful authentic Mexican Restaurant. I usually get a small order of tacos, and they even put the max effort into a small order like mine. The people serving are extremely kind, and they even have cool small Mexican paintings on a pillar. Great experience overall!! Five stars easily, if I could give more stars, I would!
One of the best places in SF for authentic Mexican food. Everything was fresh and full of flavor! Ask for extra Guacamole 😉
This is our favorite Taqueria. Wonderfully down home and authentic. Very high-quality food.

Got takeout, glad I didn’t miss the salsa bar. Food was delicious and have great memories sitting in their nook. service is casual for the busy hardworking kitchen. Get the Churros.
Past by it over the last few years because there was always a line. Finally went during an off hour day. My discoveries were: Moderately priced. Huge portions. Decently quick when there’s no line. Fresh Friendly people working there. Now that I’ve been, I can see why there’s usually a line.
We have a lot of burrito places in the SF and the Borracho burrito was one of the best I’ve had all year. It has a little bit of a mole, sweet, spicy flavor. Will be back for more.
Their food is authentic, fresh and excellent. I have eaten their food for years at this and their other place they had on Polk Street. Homemade tortilla for their fresh tacos are delicious with every other item. Thanks so much
We enjoyed our experience: friendly service, good food at reasonable prices, and eye catching decor. Steak tacos were good, my daughter really liked her veggie burrito 🌯
Amazing service and super nice people! I have been coming here for as long as I remember and have always loved it.
Always good for reliability delicious Mexican food! Yum.
Not sure why this place doesn’t have a 5.0 star review. Love the homemade salsas, generous portions of chips they give you with your order and the burritos are amazing. Tons of flavor. I come here weekly, if not more. Service is fantastic and place is clean and comfortable to dine in at

Dropped in for some nachos and sodas. I like the signs on the wall, they add to an otherwise standard decor. You order at the counter, so the service is hard to judge though our nachos were ready quickly and they were tasty. If you live in the neighborhood, it's a pretty reliable place.
Got the steak burrito which wasn't the best I've had but it was decently priced and I actually would get it again. The hot sauces and salsa were good, the red sauce was really good but too spicy so I couldn't use it unfortunately. They give you tortilla chips to go with the meal too👍
I used to come here after class from sfsu. Barely making it by 10pm. Thats like over 20 years ago! Now they close at 8pm. The chips are always warm. Aqua fresca is delish in cantaloupe and watermelon flavors. My go to is the small beans and rice burrito with no cheese. With as much salsa as they would allow me to have.
Price is a bit on the higher side but the burritos are really excellent. A major draw is the salsa bar where you can pack your own selection of salsa. I always go for the pico de gallo salsa and the hot salsa. They go great with the burritos. There is usually a short line and they take credit cards.
Decent place, not the best burrito I have had but have some really nice selections on specialties.
It's great to have Pancho's back. Their Barracho burritos are my go-to item. My favorite taqueria in SF outside of the Mission.

The food is just about decent but it is a reasonably good deal if you're looking for a quick bite while on a bar crawl and just about the right kind of drunken state to pallet the seemimg Chipole like taste(the texture of the food is significantly better than said restuarant). Could make some flavor improvements. Other than that, it is still suffice none of the less for the price.
3 stars for a lazy chef who doesn't plate the food with love. The one thing that annoys the heck out of me is when a chef/cook,owner whatever and whoever may be plates the food and hands it to the customer and customer sits down starts to eat but gets an odd egg smelly smell from the plate. If I could smell it for sure you can smell the rotten egg smell on the plate. Over all good atmosphere, great chicken tacos with good seasoning. Great staff Over priced for the size of tacos. Taco Bell has bigger tacos for less. $8 for 2 tiny baby tacos.
Went here around 9pm on a weeknight during a visit to SF. Ordered the beef tacos on homemade corn tortillas. The dish was on the bland side, but cooked well. Unfortunately, the complimentary green tomatillo salsa was waaaaay too salty. The only saving grace was that the beef tacos came with a very generous helping of fresh, creamy avocado slices.
I give 3 stars because I ordered a combination plate and didn't receive my guacamole - major loss when you forget items clearly listed on the menu. Ordered a combination plate chicken & carne asada taco. The carne asada taco was plain, chips and free salsa were great! Service was good might consider going back again to try the Enchiladas - but not so soon.
Food was quick, but my chicken was burnt. Ordered chicken nachos and it was a shame that pieces of charred chicken were scattered under a mountain of glorious cheese and guac. An unpleasant surprise it was to be crunching on bitter charred pieces hidden beneath beans and cheese. Aside from the black pieces, the chicken was super dry. I ended up picking apart my nachos to avoid the chicken all together. Such a shame as everything else was delicious. Chips were thin and fresh, guac was chunky, and the cheese was melty. Loved the salsa bar as well. Maybe I went on an off day, but I'll stick with the Mission to get my fill of Mexican.
Tried their "El Borracho", burrito. It was ok, but had too much going on with the BBQ sauce, and took from the other tasty ingredients. If you're into BBQ sauce, give it a try. Also, the interaction with the staff was less than desirable.
Mediocre burritos with staff that doesn't smile or greet. Asking questions about their menu is met with annoyance as if pulling teeth. Overall lame experience and a bit overpriced for what is served.
Huge portions, decent price (for San Francisco!), and tastes good. Nothing groundbreaking, but will definitely satisfy your Mexican food craving.
Food is average. Staff is great. Their menu has variety of items.

Not the same place anymore. I'm not sure what's behind it, but your burrito will consist of a ton of rice, scarce super NOT tender meat, and traces of guacamole, basically nonexistent. The most mind-blowing is that if you order anything with onions there will be barely any onions. At least onions are not expensive. So I don't get it. However, not sure if this is a result of an ownership change, cook change, or simply a sign of times that we will be charged a lot for nothing- I don't know. Either way not good.
I only ordered the nachos. And the protein portion, its less than the amount you get at Chipotle for it being $20. That's my only complaint.

I don't know why people go here! Nothing had any flavor. The menu doesn't say that the Burrito comes with chips and the surly guy taking our order didn't prevent us from paying for extra chips we didn't need to go with our"guacamole"- which I put in quotes because it was basically avocado with three diced onion pieces in the bottom. Maybe the meat is better? Anyway, I won't be back... Even the cups weren't great, they were too greasy.
Poor ingredients. Especially the steak and chicken. Tastes like a school lunch or taco bell. I usually got a burritos or nachos, but after consistent visits here it keeps getting worse. Burritos - Bad wrap job. Huge chunks of meat that are bland, dry, and overcooked. You can tell the tomatoes were kept at a very cold temp because it cools down the burrito before you get a chance to eat it. Rice was soggy and had very little spices. Nachos - cheese was not even melted and chips were soggy. Barely any meat was added to it, which I payed an extra price for. You can tell the care that went into making everything was not there. I've been to a lot of Mexican joints in the city and this is sitting at one of the worst. Their other branch on Polk street is slightly better.
This place is consistent. Over priced but you know what to expect if you have been a few times. The people are nice enough too. The cook preps the food in front of you but if your HUNGRY don't expect a huge burrito at a value. My kid doesn't like all the fixens and wanted a bean, cheese and rice burrito. 8 + bones! A small, mostly tortilla, burrito is what we got. There wasn't any sour cream, extras... nothing. To top it off, my carne asada burrito was far from a full burrito grande burrito with everything. Light on all ingredients. Very sub par for this place at best. I have been coming here for about 5 years on and off but the last time was the most disappointing. I was recommended Gordo out on 24th & Geary and have been pleased the 2 times I went on my own and plan on stopping by with my kid soon to see if the simple burrito he likes is any better in taste and value. We ordered a cheese quesadilla there once and it was 2 small corn tortillas, a bit of cheese and over 5 bucks. Look, I am not picky but over priced food is the worst especially if there is nothing that makes it unique or exceptional. Basic, not even home made taste, plain food that leaves you hungry when your done eating is a shame. I will give them a try sometime again but for now... can't bring myself to pay 10 bucks for a $5 quality meal.
This place is actually pretty awful. Food is below average as well as service. I don't even know why this is still open. People keep coming here because of the limited Mexican food in the area, which is understandable. Just cook your own, it would be better.
Overall a disappointing meal at Pancho’s. The tacos were hard shell, with low quality shredded cheese, and overcooked dry chicken with burnt char on it. Rice and beans were dry and had a crusty texture. Empty restaurant, and I had to stand up to go get my food from the counter. Why are they asking for a tip if I have to pick up my own food, and bus my own table? Silly. And the drink came in a single-use plastic cup, and a single use plastic fork, which is wasteful. Much left to be desired here, don’t waste your time.

Definitely don't get a burrito with chicken. Just had one today and every bite of that pollo was not just dry and semi tough but actually burned, charred. Not in the nice way that grilled meat often can be at the edges. No, every bite of the chicken in this burrito was burned beyond tasting like chicken; it tasted like tough stringy dry bites of charcoal. There was one bite that actually was just black crunchy stuff. It was like they never clean the grill, or they scooped up all of the crud at the back or the gutter that had been waiting to get scraped into the trash for a few hours, and served that to me. I made a pleasant courteous order and I gave a reasonable tip, but then I was served garbage. It was bad enough that I didn't bother asking at the counter for a replacement or other address of the situation because this was so far burned they KNOW what they're doing, there's no way to serve this as a mistake or just a mild oversight. It was bad enough that I won't bother trying here again. Funny thing, this is very close to what Pancho's was like twenty years ago and today I finally gave them another try and they immediately struck out. They do have good people and kind service and decent atmosphere and the place is clean, that's why at least two stars and not less.

This place is too pricey. And foods are not worth for the price. I paid over 15$ for two fish tacos combo. Took too long for just two tacos. When I got my combo, I was even more disappointed. My tortillas were half frozen, not even a warm. (I will attach photos) also very small portion of every item that comes with combo. Not accurately placed items on a plate. It’s not surprising that this place has over 3 star rating. Definitely not recommend this place.
Just got a Burrito From here .. Tortilla was cold... The rice was bland and hard.. it was all rice hardly no meat.. they used refried beans instead of pinto or black ... and my asada tasted like they used tongue meat... your better off going to chipotle for a burrito
