Food was excellent, the service was incredibly fast and kind. The service alone will be the reason I come back even though the food on its own was worth coming back for. This restaurant is rare. Don't mistreat the staff or I'll come for you 😘. The marinades were fantastic and the portions are large. You won't be disappointed. Trust me.
Would totally have walked past this place as it looked so unassuming if the high reviews had not directed me here specifically. And it is every bit as good as it sounded. Both the service and food were wonderful. Outdoor seating was not cold at all as they had good heaters and put on the bbq fire even though we did not go for the bbq (will need to come back to try it!). Banchan was plentiful, barley tea was comforting, and I highly recommend the doenjang soup as they make their own soybean paste which is particularly flavorful and complex! 👍🏼
Old school Korean place. Only place in SF that you can get meat jun (bulgogi jun) which is a Hawaiian Korean speciality. Imagine a super savory beef pancake. Thick egg batter and good slice of meat. Amazing service and we got a complimentary tofu soup due to the cold. Def coming back here again!
Definitely the best Korean BBQ in SF. Banchan is good and unlimited (as it should be). Stone pot was really tasty and so was the complimentary tofu soup! Wood fire to grill at the table makes all the difference in the taste of the meat. Service is also spot on. My friend dropped a chopstick on the floor and they brought over with a new chopstick before he even started to ask. They also have a call button at each table that allows you to quickly summon a waiter. Pictures are of the wood fire that goes under the metal grill.
Stumbled upon this gem while actually getting pizza nextdoor. Came back the next night to try it out and it did not disappoint! They have individual items as well as the 2-4 person menu items. Very friendly staff, fast and efficient, no long wait times. Family owned, welcomed and greeted us. We sat outside seating because we had our dog with us. Staff even brought out a bowl of water for our dog. It's not all you can eat but they refilled the banchan and anything extra we wanted without charge. We are only visiting SF, not locals so this place is definitely on our must-go for next time we visit.
Best Korean Food in the Bay Area. When I was a kid (20 yrs ago), we took my American great grandmother to try Korean Food here. Then this last weekend, my hubby took me here for Mother's day. It was an amazing experience this weekend just as it was 20 years ago. We can't wait to go back, and I won't wait another 20 more years before returning. We ordered the Bi Bim Naeng Myun (highly recommended), Bulgogi (over charcoal grill), Ojingeo Bokkom and Soondubu Jjigae. Everything including the banchan was incredibly delicious.
Yum! I've only had Korean a few times but this was a great experience! Clean, open space, friendly, fast, and attentive service, and most importantly great food! We had bulgogi and chicken bbq at our table over fresh mesquite wood. Both great flavor! Also had the kalbi jjim which was soo yummy! Egg souffle and all the side dishes were also yummy. Would definitely go again!
9-7-21: Made reservations for dinner at 630pm (glad they accepted reservations). Although they had a parklet outside, we decided to sit inside. Workers were all masked and it felt safe to eat. Service was top notch! Ordered the kalbi, spicy pork, BBQ chicken 🐓 (self grilled at the table), tofu soup and the oyster Jun. All were really tasty 😋. Would definitely come back again for more delicious Korean BBQ! The tofu soup was made very well. The "jiggee" always is one of my favorites. Traditional comfort food! One new thing that resulted from the pandemic is that everyone gets their own tray of salad, panchun, rice. That was actually much easier to eat than pre-pandemic days. Finished off with a Korean lager. Overall, five ⭐! Thank you for a great dinner.
Everything here is SO GOOD. The kalbi is very high quality, not chewy at all. The fat melts in your mouth. Excellent flavor. The doenjangjigae was the most flavorful I've ever had. Their seafood pajeon was also bursting with flavor and didn't skimp on the seafood at all. Great service. One of the best Korean BBQs I've visited in America.
Wonderful authentic Korean restaurant. It is Korean BBQ but please do not visit and expect it to be an "All You Can Eat" at an AYCE price. You can choose items to bbq a la carte like Bulgogi or Spicy Pork or Chicken. Also a la carte items with favorites like spicy tofu soup and Japchae. Pricier than AYCE KBBQ restaurants but the food authentically delicious. They still had their parklet open for seating. Although it was cold on Valentine's Day, we chose to sit outside. They had a propane heater by the table and the table bbq also kept you warm. It was really wood charcoal! We really couldn't decide what to order, so when the server came, I asked if it would be weird if we ordered the 4- person dinner for two people. 😆 He said "no" but that it was a lot of food : it contained Bulgogi, galbi, spicy pork (or Chicken, but we chose pork), Japchae and spicy tofu soup. We also ordered the Korean Cheese Corn but for some reason we didnt get it, but we didn't remember we never got it until after we left. We were so full because we ate everything! The 4-person dinner also came with assorted banchan, steamed rice and lettuce leaves. We were in love with the giant bowl of spicy tofu soup. We ate it all, washed it down with a big bottle of Cass beer, and barley tea. If you are looking for an authentic Korean restaurant, don't hesitate to try Brothers.
Ordered the 4 set meal, and it came with a huge variety of side dishes, soft tofu soup and japchae (both loaded with a good portion of meat), as well as 4 cuts of meats. The meat were all marinated well, but the galbi was definitely the star. Service was great, all of the servers checked up on us often plus changed the grill without us even needing to flag them down. For ~$40 per person, I'd say this was well worth the price, as we were all full by the end of the meal.
BOMB mesquite wood charcoal KBBQ with outdoor and indoor seating! Amazing kalbi (beef short rib) marbling and quality. Oyster jun is delicious and juicy. Ssamjang is made in-house. Yukhoe is delicious and sweet from the korean pear, a rare find in the bay area! Everything on the menu is DELICIOUS! CLEAN and CUTE outdoor patio!
Best Korean bbq in the Bay Area! They’ve been around for almost 40 years. Super tasty food and friendly efficient service. Truly one of San Francisco’s treasured restaurants.
Phenomenal! The food! the service! Everything was tremendous. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family.
I love this Korean restaurant. The staff always makes you feel genuinely cared for—they’re generous, warm, and never make you feel bad for asking for more kimchi or sides. Unlike some spots where you hesitate to ask, here they go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and well-fed. It’s the kind of kindness that makes you want to keep coming back.
The staff is extremely friendly. The food is great. I would highly recommend the Bulgogi.
Arguably one of the most authentic Korean barbeque experience in the city. Grill the big piece thick cut of meat yourself on the charcoal grill and let the smoke and fat dripping smell fume over you! The result: the food is delicious! The most surprising thing is that after the meal, we are well fed but not overwhelmingly full. I believe it is because the meat has a nice balance of lean meat and the fat. The side dishes and vegetables are fresh enough to keep us enjoy the meal. The price is also reasonable. We plan to take our friends to eat here next time!
All around a great experience, will definitely be back next time we are in San Francisco! The service was great and the employees were very helpful when ordering. Everything was amazing but I especially enjoyed the beef bulgogi. All the food was cooked to perfection! They also gave us a soup that was amazing with tofu and beef! 10/10 would def recommend!
I knew from the moment I stepped into this restaurant it was going to be awesome. The air was smoky, the food smelt incredible and the atmosphere was lively. We cooked the meat at the table on coal, and there were heaps of complimentary sides that were amazing. Everything was delicious, I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this place!
We got the tasting menu for 2. Perfect portion size and really good quality meat. The spicy tofu soup and the spicy pork were a standout. The wood used in the barbeque is also excellent. Amazing staff and amazing service.
A great Korean restaurant in the city! They make their own fermented soy bean, so their stew is amazing. The best quality marinated KBBQ place I’ve been to around town! Owner is also super friendly.
Generous banchans, food are slightly sweeter than I wanted but overall, good portions. The owners gave us complementary veggie kimchi jjigae because 1 of us is a vegetarian 🧡 very hospitable.
Absolutely delicious. We had bulgogi and a delicious shrimp dish. The banchan was delicious. Sweet waitress. Would love to come back next time we are in SF.
Food and service were amazing. Had the chicken and steak which comes with many sides and last night free soup. True bbq wood brought to the table ready to go or you can have them cook in the kitchen instead but that takes away from the experience in my opinion. Being a jacket can be chilly and you will smell like smoke upon leaving but the experience is well worth it
Food was so good!! I always love cooking the meat at the table and there was so much! Great dinner idea for friends. Only ding was it does get a bit smoky so don’t wear anything you can’t wash!
Wonderful food. Quite old style (in good terms) Korean galbi. Must taste it.
Two of us had dinner here on a weeknight. We were seated right away but they did fill up as the evening went on. The menu offers sampler meals for groups two and up. We went this route and got two very generous servings of meat and an excellent selection of little dishes. They load a table grill with mesquite charcoal and away you go. The family takes a lot of pride in make the dishes in house and were very happy to explain everything. This would be a fun place to come with a group of friends The price is fair as we paid about forty each for our dinner.
Great Korean BBQ! It was our first time with Korean BBQ so we were a little nervous, but it was a very pleasant surprise and we enjoyed (almost) all of the small plates. The pork and the beef were excellent. Next time I will try the chicken as well. Very fun evening for a first experience, or for a regular Korean BBQ fan.
So dang good. Their kimchi is freaking so delicious, yikes. Everything else is also on point too.
This place is currently my favorite Korean barbecue place in the Bay Area. I’ve been here twice and both times have been excellent. Service has always been top-notch, they use real charcoal, and the banchan is really high quality. This place specializes in marinated meats and you can’t go wrong with whatever you pick. My favorite meats are the kalbi and bulgogi. And I always like to thrown in the steamed egg and tofu soup. I recommend this place to all my friends and family for a delicious time!
Super delicious Authentic Korean food complete with your own self BBQ pit in the middle of your table. Meals are Served with Roasted Barley herbal tea. The servers are quick and friendly and food is delivered ultra fast!!! I love BROTHERS RESTAURANT!!! SOOOOO DELICIOUS!!!
Delicious food and great service! We got the 2 person tasting menu (Bulgogi, spicy pork, sundubu) and the yukhoe (raw beef with pear). It was a good amount of food for 3 people and everything was delicious! The spicy pork was a little too strongly flavoured for our taste but was still good. First time trying yukhoe and thought it was very tasty!
Now THAT's Korean BBQ!! From the extremely quick service to the high quality meat selections, our whole party couldn't have been happier. The portions were large, our server was VERY quick, and everything came out to a fair price. I will recommend this place for anyone who enjoys food done right in the SF area moving forward.
Dank KBBQ. No all you can eat options, but meat is high quality and flavorful. Limited non-meat options or appetizers (tofu soup and diff types of pancakes). Great service. We walked in on a Tuesday for a group of 4 and were seated quickly. Grills cook meat evenly and the smoke isn’t as bad as most BBQ places, but be prepared to walk out smelling like Kalbi 😋

Best Korean BBQ my family has had. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Tofu soup was delicious and enlightening- we never knew tofu could taste so good. No loud music was a plus for us.

Our party of four got the four-person tasting menu, which included rice, banchan, and the following dishes: Kalbi: Tender BBQ beef short rib marinated in a special house sauce. Bulgogi: Tender BBQ ribeye marinated in a special house sauce. Spicy Pork: Mildly spicy and smoky BBQ pork marinated in a special house sauce. Japchae Noodles: Lightly sautéed vermicelli noodles with beef and vegetables. Spicy Tofu Soup: Tofu soup in beef broth with beef and vegetables. This restaurant boasts 100% mesquite wood charcoal grills, a feature that enhances the taste in a way gas grills cannot replicate. I particularly enjoyed the Kalbi; it was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned. The Japchae noodles also impressed me with their delicious taste; the balance between sweetness and saltiness was spot on. Additionally, the tofu soup was excellent, satisfying my craving perfectly. For those planning to dine here, I recommend arriving early, as there is typically a 30-minute wait. Also, for convenience, there's street parking available, as well as a nearby public parking lot near the Smart and Final stores.
The food is delicious, the service and the environment, my only complaint is that we ordered the Kalbi plate and they gave us the Bulgogi but they charged us for the one we ordered... I didn't want to say anything because we weren't sure if it came with short ribs or not. Everything else was great!
It had been a while since I had Korean BBQ, so I was really looking forward to it. This was my second time at this place, and the food was just as good as I remembered. We got the two-person tasting menu, plus the Korean corn cheese and steamed egg. The ribeye was super tasty—especially wrapped in lettuce with all the side dishes. The corn cheese and steamed egg were pretty good too. The vibe was nice and laid-back. We showed up a little after 5 PM and it wasn’t busy at all. The staff was super friendly, and overall it was a great experience. I’d definitely come back, especially with a bigger group next time.
Enjoyed cooking our own meet. :-) The seasonings were good, and we liked the tofu soup, as well as sides. Didn't realize this place had been here since the 80's. We will likely come back.

Nice! We went all out and got a lot, but it’s nice that they have the option to grill meat yourself or have it pre cooked. Pretty good selection as well.
It's been many years (decade?) since I've been back to this San Francisco fixture. All far as I can tell, nothing has changed. Food is still ok. What sets them apart is that they still use wood for the BBQ at your table. Do be aware that it's extremely smoky during dinner and can get very loud as well.
