Lovely date night spot with delicious tapas, we got the Brussels, Mac and cheese, and the patatas bravas. We shared these and the short rib which was so flavorful and a generous portion. Very good value, we left stuffed!
Come to the busy part of north beach and just soak it in. You hangout on the patio here to listen tonic as tourist and locals walk by. The staff is great friendly and passionate. The drinks fun, boozy and easy to drink. The food easy to eat share and hard to be disappointed. Bring a date here, your parents whoever, it’s just a great vibe. We had so much fun.
Came here for a happy hour with some friends from work and this was just the right place to bond with coworkers without a meal that is too heavy. Although it was a little expensive, the overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend sharing appetizers as well the patatas bravas and Mac and Cheese.
Really great ambiance with outdoor patio (with heaters on for the winter) and indoor tables. Cute Christmas-y cocktails too
The food was excellent, and the outdoor live music was a nice touch! Highly recommend the paella balls. The octopus was also very refreshing.
We come here every time we visit SF for one reason and that’s Byron the most amazing talented sweet and friendly bar tender. The drinks he makes are truly a work of art. Food is fantastic and staff are very friendly.
We had been wanting to try this place and finally did. Really cool stop in North Beach. Perfect for tapas style dining. Go with a group and order a bunch of everything so everyone can share. Generous beer and wine pours. And very good cocktails! They don’t have a full bar but somehow make it work so you don’t even notice. We enjoyed the potatoes, shrimps, scallops and crispy Brussels. Plus the atmosphere/decor is super cute. I highly recommend sitting outside so you can take in the city while you dine.

This is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco! The food & drinks are always so delicious. I highly recommend the patatas bravas & the octopus. The lamb pasta is also incredible. Service can be hit or miss but the food definitely makes up for it
My family and I came into red window this past Monday for dinner and we're absolutely blown away by the incredible service from Em and Melody. I have never felt in my life so taken care of. they were so patient with my children, I have been so nervous to take them out for a meal because they are high energy but the ems energy put them at peace. Our favorite items were definitely the Bravas, Brussels & the short rib. Also don't get me started on the new holiday cocktails, they were so tasty! I can't wait to come back!
We had the paella balls, patatas bravas, and the short rib. Everything was delicious! We sat outside and there was live music (magic school busk) at the corner and they were so good!

Em was our sever Thursday evening and she gave us the most amazing experience! She was so sweet & the recommendations she gave us were phenomenal. The bravas, brussels & short ribs were 10/10. The drinks were amazing as well! The spritzes are definitely the way to go! We will be back very soon!
Tapas style place with some enclosed patio dining. Drinks are not that great. Sorta too sweet and a mocktail I got barely had any liquid in it. Food is pretty good. Seasoned nicely and the seafood tasted fresh. Apps are the best part of the menu for sure. Service was a bit slow and it took me half a meal to get one of my drinks. Outside patio was super loud and echo-y
Super fun tapas place in North Beach San Francisco. There's a good variety of plates to choose from and all were really tasty! There's a fun drinks menu but I think the specialty drink is the Sangria (red and white). The beer list is *not* good - there are only two beers! what?? But the wine list had some nice choices. You can sit outside in the parklet if the weather is nice. We sat indoors and it was noisy but fun. Service was great. Loved it! *we had the following with a rating from me out of 10: flatbread with prosciutto 8 Crispy Paella Balls 7 Patatas Bravas (potato squares)6 (these are their signature dish and I thought they were just okay) Braised Short Ribs 10 Albondigas (beef & pork meatball) 8 So yummy!
When you walk past the corner leading to the restaurant, it usually has people playing music. It gets kind of loud if you sit outside, but inside it is not a problem. We ordered the patatas bravas, the bucatini, octopus, and the chicken sandwich. Overall, the tapas portions are pretty big for tapas. The potatoes were very nice and crispy, like a scallop potato tater tot. The sauce added some nice smokiness. There was a very light flavor of oil. The pasta was good, the meatballs were a bit salty, but the pasta had a nice texture. The pasta unfortunately came out cold for us, because they waited to bring out everything at once. It was not my favorite, but it's okay. The octopus tasted fresh, and the sauce was salty and acidic, a nice balance. Just a heads up the sauce had an olivey taste, and it is quite tangy. The chicken sandwich was crisp and hot, and there was a garlicky sauce and I'd say maybe a slaw? The service was excellent, they were very welcoming. It was a very lively and overall good experience.
This was a vibrant space with outdoor and indoor seating and a bar. The service and food were great. The cocktail selection was unique and the drinks were delicious. The baycation cocktail was delicious. The meatballs were amazing and the small was a perfect portion. The fries were also great.
So many of my friends raved about this place, so I finally went randomly for dinner and it really did live up to the hype! First of all, the place is beautiful. I love the painted glass windows, and we even asked if we could get seated at the corner booth (even though it's just two of us) and they said yes! For drinks, we got the spiked hot chocolate (this didn't even taste alcoholic and they used housemade whipped cream on top) and a festive holiday spritz which also tasted pretty good. Then for appetizers, we got the crusted paella balls, which I've never had as a ball form, but it was so easy to eat and came with a delicious sauce. For the mains, we ordered the short ribs and lamb pasta. The short ribs are an absolute MUST ORDER. So tender and came with crispy potatoes (no need to order the patatas braves if you get this) and some broccolini. The lamb pasta was okay; nothing too stand-out, but the pasta noodles did pair very well with the short ribs. Overall, on a weekday, service was so fast and the vibe was super chill. Very date night worthy! Highly recommend.
Happy there was live music while I enjoyed an Espresso Martini. The waitress was nice and friendly with a positive vibe.
I recently heard about this restaurant and especially the churros. I have a mixed review of my experience. The service and servers were all delightful. The smoked salmon crustini were delicious, the potatas bravas were excellent, the flatbread was also tasty. I was disappointed with the churros, they are too fat so the outside is too crisp and the inside is too doughy, not a good ratio, in my opinion. The chocolate that accompanied it was yummy. There was a nice band playing live music which was festive but a bit too loud. The interior is fun and I will come back another time to try some other items.
This is a great Spanish tapas place. I've been here many times and always enjoy their food. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, although it's nothing outstanding or fancy. I highly recommend making a reservation and trying their tapas and cocktails, especially white sangria.
The Red Window is a Spanish restaurant that opened in North Beach this March. It offers creative takes on classic tapas, features a low-proof cocktail bar, and has plenty of outdoor seating. At one point, it had a rolling bar cart, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. For those familiar with North Beach, this location used to be the former Caffe Delucchi, making it easy to find. Their sangria is excellent—so good, in fact, that it can make a cold and breezy North Beach evening feel mild and pleasant! I particularly loved their Patatas Bravas and Sliced Jamón Ibérico. I also enjoyed the Queso Fundido, though I don't remember much else thanks to the sangria. However, I do recall that their Crema Catalana is delicious too! Fortunately, you won’t have to rely solely on my memory; the Red Window menu is filled with delicious tapas, including pintxos. Here’s an important detail: next door is Little Red Window, their takeout window that serves Spanish, Mexican, and Argentinian empanadas, along with house-canned cocktails—including sangria. What are you waiting for?

Red Window is a busy North Beach spot, right on the hill of Columbus and one of the area’s liveliest corners. There are a few outdoor seats plus a lean-to style covered section that feels like a leftover from the Covid days. Sitting outside can get windy, even in summer, so worth keeping in mind when picking a table. Inside the vibe is buzzy, though the decor feels a bit eclectic without quite nailing the boho look it seems to be going for. Service is where they shine: the hostess at the door was fantastic, really welcoming and clearly the face of the venue, and the staff throughout were polite and efficient. The food and drink themselves are fairly average, mid-level tourist fare, but the energy of the place and the service lift it. The patatas bravas came out in a slightly unusual style, more like wafer-thin duck-fat potatoes that had been twice-cooked and cut into neat shapes. I’ve seen that approach before, but never in a bravas. It worked fine, though I imagine a few Spanish purists might be shaking their heads! Best reason to go? On Friday and Saturday nights they host a funk band at the front, which is brilliant fun and makes the whole visit feel like much better value.

I'm sure the lunch or dinner food is good, however, we had a very disappointing brunch here. The Eggs Benedict is the saddest excuse for benedict I have ever seen. The benedict is one single poached egg on a hamburger bun with a tiny dab of hollandaise and two small pieces of bacon. The service and atmosphere were very nice.
Had a reservation at 6:30, was greeted by a waitress, who was very nice and turned out to be the only waitress. The service was incredibly slow and after ordering we waited close to 90 minutes for our four entrees to arrive. When we received our entrees one of the orders was incorrect (clams only when clam mussel dish was ordered). The waitress gave us a 15% discount which was appreciated, but I think more was warranted based on the wait. Very disappointing, will not be returning.
