A fantastic spot for Jain and no onion and no garlic dietary needs! I had a wonderful meal at [Restaurant Name]. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. What really impressed me was their extensive menu for those of us who don't eat onion or garlic. It is often hard to find a place that offers "No Onion, No Garlic" options without compromising on taste, but this place nails it. They have a wide variety of Jain options that taste just as good, if not better, than the regular menu. Highly recommended if you are looking for dietary-friendly options that actually taste great!

I recently visited this Indian restaurant for their buffet, and I was really impressed! The food selection was excellent — a wonderful variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, all rich in authentic flavor. The biryani, butter chicken, and paneer curry were especially delicious, and everything was fresh and nicely presented. The restaurant maintained a clean and comfortable atmosphere, and the service was quick and attentive. The manager Sue was exceptionally friendly and made sure guests felt welcome, checking in personally to ensure everything was satisfactory. Overall, it was a great dining experience with amazing food and warm hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

Great place with a great atmosphere, music and ambience! The staff were comforting and made us feel welcome. We got the lamb tikki masala and lamb biryani, and the spice was there in the best way. Portion size was more than expected! I know a lot of people get their food delivered, but eating in restaurant is just as great! Will be coming back for the lunch buffet special!

Star India on Geary Blvd is a great spot for authentic Indian food. They have an unlimited buffet with both veg and non-veg options at a very reasonable price. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the service is warm and welcoming. Perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal with friends or family!

5 star lunch buffet. 3 star service, had to ask 3 times for naan, napkins, and beverages. 3 star atmosphere becuase my child noticed all the portraits had female nipples/boobs exposed. So I felt solid female dominance/hinting/operating enviroment. Great price , great Indian meals veg and non veg. Im pretty sure it was halal. Will give it another shot when I return , hopefully its not a perverted scene/environment/theme. Well, I returned and ate again satisfactorily. Over stuffed myself. T'was the taste of butterchicken and lamb curry made me eat 4 times. I was with friends , and so far every time they fly away on vacations, we end up eating here before departure. So far , seems like cleanly cooked food. My third visit was ok. Same food same environment same great taste. Butter chicken was a little mild but Papard was provided. So I didn't get upset, but ate my butter chicken with it so I wouldn't stuff myself with Naan.

This is a very cozy place with good ambiance, good food and great service. I had madrasi chicken and it was very creamy and spicy. My spouse had malai kofta, it had a flavor of sweet and spice. For breads we had Naans, garlic and chilly cheese, they were very soft!

Clean quiet charming. They had my favorite comfort dish, lamb korma 😍and the portions were great. Loved their flair of spices in my favorite dish! They also had my spouses favorite dish, lamb rogan josh. We tried the saffron rice and the basket of variety of naan. Tasty. Pleasant experience!

My recent visit to Star India's Indian Cuisine was a culinary adventure. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Indian dishes, with the Lamb Bone-In, Chicken Tikka Masala, and warm Naan bread stealing the show. To top it off, the Mango Ice Cream dessert was a refreshing delight. The service was prompt, and the buffet spread was impressive. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or a newcomer, Star India's buffet is a great way to savor a diverse selection of flavors. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

good food! however we were a little surprised by their portion sizes …(?) we considered getting ala-carte over the buffet, but i feel like the buffet might have been a better option considering the price. the plates are small, the butter naan was amazing!!! i loved the gravy of their vegetarian curries

I visited Star India in San Francisco and really enjoyed it. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and the food is excellent. Portions are good, the flavors are really authentic, and the prices are surprisingly affordable for San Francisco. I liked the chicken korma, garlic naan, and stuffed cheese naan ,all very flavorful and satisfying. The gulab jamun was served warm and made a perfect finish to the meal. Service was attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. If you’re craving Indian food and don’t want to overspend, this is a spot worth checking out. Highly recommend.

Went for dinner with friends, but the experience wasn’t great. The service was poor — the server was unhelpful and dismissive when asked for dish recommendations, just saying “everything is good” without any real input. We ordered Gobhi Manchurian, Goat Curry, Chicken Pasanda, chicken biryani and Garlic Naan. Food portion was less for the price. Gobhi Manchurian was more like a regular sabzi — not crispy or coated well. Goat Curry was okay. Chicken Pasanda was the best dish — creamy and flavorful, would recommend. Garlic Naan was soft, buttery, and well-cooked. The biryani tasted more like pulao, with oversized onion slices dominating the dish. Overall, not a satisfying experience. Would not visit again.

Very bad quality food, I order potato and cauliflower dish and it was raw not cooked properly with very bad taste and aroma , indeed very bad experience that won’t be repeated.
