One of the best sports bars I’ve been to in SF! Lots of TVs, they post what games they’re gonna play ahead of time, and the vibes are great for watching games or hanging out. The staff is awesome, super friendly. They can make pretty much any cocktail for you and their food is spectacular. Also their restrooms are clean! 10/10 on all fronts, we’ll be back to watch more soccer!

Finally chilling out during weekday games. Food is phenomenal and drinks options are great with low ABV and NA options. Weekends can still be busy during game days. Recommended to come 45 mins to an hour early on weekends!

Very cool barcade. Had a good time there with my partner. We split the daily special and had some NA drinks. Good variety of games and some classic pinball. I did however forget to close my tab! Hoping the added tip isn't more than 25%

The bar service is super fast--which is impressive considering how busy it gets. You never have to wait too long for a drink or food, and the staff keeps things moving smoothly with great attitudes and quick hands. And let's talk about the food--I was genuinely blown away. The burger is one of the best l've had at any bar, seriously. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Everything on the menu feels like it's made with care, not just slapped together like you'd expect from a typical bar. It's the kind of place where you come for the drinks and games, but end up staying because the food is that good. There's also a giant TV that's perfect for watching games, fights, or whatever major event is on. It turns the whole bar into one big watch party, and there's something about cheering along with a room full of strangers that just makes it extra fun. Whether you're here to play some old-school arcade games, catch a game on the big screen, or just hang with friends and grab a great bite, it's definitely worth checking out. Loud? Yes. Fun spot to hang out with friends. Grabbed a table and looked at the menu. Once we decided, we ordered at the bar. Waited to pick up our drinks which were reasonably priced for the city and decent. Got a buzzer for the food. Portion size for the snacks we’re on the small size but other dishes seemed reasonable. Arcade games were not sticky and they had something for each of us.

The Detour a whole vibe. Lots of people playing games and just chilling drinking and eating. The place is small which kinds of sucks because it's was crowded but everyone seem to be in their own world of games. The food was actually really good for bar food. Everything tasted great. The games were fun and to my surprise I like playing the old school games. Had a great time here. Would definitely recommend it as a cool place to chill.

I have visited many arcade bars around the country and for me the key to a good overall experience is a menu that isn't the expected or at least outside your normal bar food. This recently re-amp menu is a Pan Pacific variety of light dishes to full entrees. The unique corn dogs with Polish sausage paired well with their Tasty Tots. The perfect variety of video games and a great selection of beers and drinks makes this one of the best arcade bars I have visited in the US

Fun place to meet for a drink. Menu has changed a couple times, but still a good spacious place for a gathering. Even if you don't play the video games (which can be quite pricey), there's board games available!

Amazing old school arcade with great beer and cider selection. Games range from 25c to $1. Try the NES machine in the back the 25c games and 100 to choose from.

Really great vibe and concept, and friendly staff! Came here to check out their smashburger which had gotten some buzz, but was a bit disappointed on the food front.

We came to Detour on a Thursday night and the place was packed for a trivia night - super fun and lively. It’s a large open space, great for game nights or other events - they have big screens around the bar that people can play video games on (there’s usually a Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart game going on). They also have arcade machines around the room. We ordered a few drinks, and really enjoyed the Sangria. Our server, TC, was a delight as well and made my friend a “surprise” cocktail that was great. My one gripe was that the food was underwhelming. We ordered the Wellness Bowl which was $20 but was pretty light portion-wise and fairly subpar overall for the price. Detour would be great for events with friends or maybe a date if you want to grab a beer and play the arcade games. Just be prepared that the food won’t be out of this world.

Time warp, rediscovered game nights, video games from back in the days , a solid selection of cocktails and their own take on bar food. In short it works. Feeling bored at home and making new friends but don't feel like dressing up or putting on a show...the detour is a nice mix of 'i could care less' being alone in a crowd or hanging with friends while making new ones. Their food selection is an interesting take on bar food. Yes all the common items you can find like burgers and pizza but we tried their adobo bowl, a bit salty for my taste but otherwise not bad and yes their okonomiyaki bowl is actually rather good and tasty. Their tacos are alright, I like the fact that they are not saucy and overloaded with sour cream and other non Mexican taco add-ons but they are a bit dry . A dash of lime would help the cause

The games were really entertaining and the food was just OK, nothing wow. The pizza was mid and the corn dogs were good but hurt my stomach. The drinks on the other hand, 10/10!!! The mangomargs was the best ive had and the service was superior <3. Cute place for date night

Really fun spot for the evening. Loads of arcade games to keep you amused and drag bingo on a Wednesday is great! Friendly staff too. Would be great to see more vegan options on the menu and I wasn't a fan of apple instead of vegan cheese on pizza.

Got to finally check out The Detour in the Castro. It's the newest addition in a line of bar turned gaming clubs in the city but this one definitely delivers. They have a great selection of arcade and pinball games ranging from classic to new. The decor is really well done and I appreciate the addition of the comics plastered to the walls in the back. The bar is busy but friendly and once you get a hold of someone service is quick and awesome. The food is delicious bar food. The pizza has a surprisingly delicious asian twist and I appreciate the simple flavor packed burger. Overall a great time. Would definitely come back

Great vibe, and wonderful to have an alternative to the deafening Hi Tops! The only disappointment is the food which seems highly hit and miss… the chicken Sammy was wildly overcooked, thin and inedibly hard (I really should have just returned it); the beet burger is a great idea but very bland and lacks texture; the fish and chips comes with this odd sauce that seems to have come out of a Kroger’s salad dressing bottle. If they can fix up the quality of the food, they’ll get repeat locals coming in on quieter nights

For context, I did not come here to drink, so if that’s your vibe then this might not be helpful. Also, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The place itself though was so loud I had to shout to keep a convo, and half the games that I tried didn’t count quarters I put in, and then others had controls that were sticky or loose (in the game, not the control itself). If you come here to drink and have a few bites, you’ll probably have a good time though, but BRING CASH.
