At The Hyde Out, we're more than just a spot to grab a bite – we're your neighborhood gathering place. Cash only, because we like things old-school. Our cozy upstairs seating is the perfect spot to catch a game on TV or challenge friends to a board game or two. Meanwhile, our downstairs vibe is all about good times and great eats. We've gotten rave reviews for our delicious pub grub – think tasty burgers and sandwiches that'll hit the spot after a long day. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere: it's what we're all about here.

Nice Bar. Good local beer. Good team .see you
Very friendly staff. Jukebox. Nice clientell. Cash only, with ATM inside.
Cozy little spot for beers and cocktails right off the California Street Cable Car line.
Great neighborhood Bar with great JukeBox & across the street from Trader Joe's, if you want to cook dinner after drinks
Always a pleasure to stop by my local neighborhood bar. Music will be playing and staff are friendly.
Great little bar, went for 1 drink and staggered out 4 hours later.
Great relaxed atmosphere, patrons are very friendly and the beer is flowing and cold. Can't beat it. From a KIWI !!!
Being from out of town I seriously enjoy local bars to relax. This bar is certainly THAT PLACE for a libation and great conversation
Amier is the greatest
usually not crowded quick bar service very friendly location is convenient if you're using public transportation
Great neighborhood bar! The staff is great and friendly!
Very nice local pub. Cheap, TV with sports nice people jukebox.
The most amazing people and had one of the best drinks in a long time the people are amazing
Amir is amazing!! Most extraordinary bartender I've ever had!
I like this place. It's comfortable and a great place to relax. There is the main floor with a long well stocked bar, jukebox, great sound system, microwave for the customers (plates and utensils I think?), and a loft with additional seating. The place is ultra clean. Don't expect to be dazzled by flashing lights or disco balls although I am impressed that the few times I've been in there the regulars have bought a round for the house. Yesterday I walked in to meet some friends and there were quite a few people there watching baseball games and doing what people do in bars. Even though it had been well over a year since my last visit the bartender greeted me right away by my first name and ask how I've been. He also asked about some small detail in my life which at first I didn't recall, but apparently he remembered more vividly. The fact that an employee of a place that I'd only visited a couple of times remembered my name, small details about me, and who I was with that day is indicative of someone who cares about his customers. I'm still relatively new to San Francisco and its great that someone has made the effort to remember my name. I don't need a place with a hundred stale beers on tap or 50 hanging TVs, pool tables or dart boards. Sometimes that stuff is nice, but not as nice as going to a place where you know you're welcome.
Christine was amazing! Great service and amazing bartender. I haven't had this much fun in SF thus far. Christine had a ton to do with it. Damm good music, amazing drinks, and fun times.
Had a great night in here. Thanks to Amir for doing a great job behind the bar. Really friendly bar and a good selection of drinks.
Good drinks and service, chill spot to stop and take a break, especially if you're not necessarily a sports fan!

I stopped in for a coke & an emergency dump! The bar tender Heather is very nice & not to mention cute!
This was my neighborhood local in the mid 90's. I stopped in for some drinks on a recent trip to SF and was pleasantly surprised to find it hasn't changed. Still a great hang after all these years.
Great local bar my friend frequents often and it’s right across from the street from a favorite agricultural store. Also Trader Joe’s is right next door in case you need some snacks
Beer, great service, and friendly people! Can’t beat it. Wonderful neighborhood bar!
A local hide out. Mainly frequented by local crowd and tourists. A chill place with awesome bartenders. You can order in food or walk across the street and bring it back. Cash only...
One of those cool local hideaways. Enjoyed chatting with the regulars, and they had the best (most comprehensive) Jukebox I've ever seen.
Friendly staff. Nice selection of beers on tap. Had a good friendly neighborhood pub vibe.
As someone who does not hail from the area, we accidentally stumbled across this gem whilst upon our hobbit-esque adventure throughout the hills of Sàn-Frăn, by foot, having breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, and supper in need of a tasty adult beverage. Bar maiden Jenny was a kind and gracious host whom made our travels all the more worth while. If we were ever to venture these lands again once more in times of the morrow, we'd hence again visit this tavern!
Great place to get together with friends but the bar tender gave my nuts away ( inside joke) so the bar tender knows who wrote this review!
Amir is a friendly and attentive bartender
I can't believe I haven't left a review for Hydeout yet! My boyfriend's neighborhood bar. But one of my favorite places for a Friday night night cap. A sleepy bar with some really awesome regulars. Amir is the sweetest, nicest, best person, and bartender. Always cool, attentive to everyone. Go with flow but not messing around. I feel welcome every time we walk in. Even if I go there only some Fridays, I feel welcome and like fam when I walk in. They have a nice upstairs area for a more quiet experience away from the bar, if that's what ur seeking. No food except for Sunday football days when ppl bring potluck or they have a special bbq day. You can always have food delivered, tho. More relaxed than Wreckroom across the street. Not as pretentious as Zekis up the hill (which is actually pretty nice as well, if that's what ur looking for). Hyde Out holds a special place in my heart.

Really good local bar with nice selection of beers
Great neighborhood crowd. Baseball on the TVs. Jukebox playing a variety of classics. A great random pop in!
Solid neighborhood bar, nothing more / less. Cash only, and by dive standards, drinks aren't cheap. Not sure if you can bring food in, but we always do.
two story dive/local bar. The upstairs area can be a quiet place to catch up with friends.
Nice place, small but cozy. Super nice bartender. Expensive drinks.
[Cash Only] The Upstairs is a good stop to have a good beer & chat with a small group of folks.
Been going there since 1991. Always have a good time. Colorful patrons.
Great bar, locals hangout. Juke box was great too!
Warm neighborhood bar with friendly vibes and great service. The second story is dope too, mad cozy!

On the bright side, it's part of a dying breed of San Francisco neighborhood bars where old-guard locals co-exist with trendy newcomers and even an occasional tourist. On the downside, it has a habit of being just a tiny bit on the insular side. Prices are usually par-for-the-course, but the staff is always polite and friendly. Everyone is cool with carry in food. There's a Chinese deli next door, a liquor store that makes sandwiches within a block, and a Trader Joe's across the street. TV placement is less-than-optimal come game day, but the social scene more than takes up the slack.
Go to the 2nd floor, so awesome. This is a locals bar and cash only. So be prepared to hear about the neighborhood and how it has changed. I have often gotten free meals here too. They grill tri tip, brats, and other things on games days but there is no schedule that I know of. Just luck of the draw!
Great prices for drinks. Great music. No cover. The bartenders are very nice. One of my favorite San Francisco bars now.

Old-school neighborhood spot. Good for watching sporting events pre-covid. Hopefully that lively atmosphere will return!
Comfy little dive bar good for a quick drink. Beware the easily offended, old timer locals. Watched some older gentleman try to pick a fight with another customer who was half the age and twice the size because he didn't like the convo.

Terrible I would have spent more money there A lot more Unfortunate for his evening & I don't care!!
no alcohol in my drink, twice. don't recommend
We were ignored for about 10 minutes before walking out to find somewhere else to go. Additionally, anything you would buy is cash only and an additional fee to get cash via ATM.
