Everything we’ve tried at this little shop has been excellent!.. the service is quick and attentive.. generous portions, superlative flavors. The dining room is small; only seating about 20 people total, so if you’re planning a big family gathering get it for takeout 😉

One of my favorite places for dim sum, offering all the classic staples. The portions are generous, delicious, and arrive piping hot. Thanks to the small space, dishes don’t sit long in steamer baskets before reaching your table. The staff are friendly and polite, despite how busy it can get. Dishes are served as they’re ready, which means you might get an egg tart before a savory item, but that’s not an issue. It’s not some multi-course prix fixe meal. The location is very small, with only a couple of tables, so expect a long wait during peak hours, especially with larger groups. It’s a popular spot. Parking is plentiful in the surrounding area.

Super affordable and quality dim sum. Fast service - everything was warm/hot to the taste. They have experienced chefs! I like Turnip Cake, pan fried chives cakes the best! Credit cards OK!

Went here for Christmas Day lunch as we were craving for dim sum. Definitely some of, if not the best, dim sum we've ever had!! It's a small space so the wait can get long, but it was worth it. The service was also 💯 We'll be back!

WOW! First time there today. I arrived on a Friday morning at 9:15am.. no wait. The two people there had great customer service. It's refreshing when a place is well known and popular but the folks still care about service. I usually prefer cart service dim sum but wanted to try something new. Everything was PHENOMENAL. Chive dumplings were huge with fresh shrimp and an abundance of chives. Chicken feet were tender and perfectly seasoned. Ribs were fall off the bone. Daikon cake has actual chunks of daikon. I can keep going on. Highly recommended! I wish this business continued success over the years. You're doing an amazing job!

The Hong Kong Dim Sum House in San Gabriel is a small, casual restaurant with a reputation for delicious dim sum. The restaurant is known for its fresh, high-quality dim sum and its reasonable prices. However, it is also known for its long lines, which can be especially long during weekends and holidays.

The restaurant is very small so the wait can be a little long-longer, but if you order to go (any time) or dine-in (after 2pm), it is not bad at all (ON SATURDAY generally). Since it is small so there isn't a bathroom inside 😉, so be prepared to find a bathroom nearby to wash your hands before your name is called). It cost more for us because we ordered a lot.

Probably the best dim sum I've had. Personable, friendly and welcoming staff. Small and intimate space. So lively and enjoyable in every way!

Ive been a regular at this place for a WHILE the staff are super sweet and the food is absolutely delicious. I reccomend the baked bbq pork buns, shu mai, har gow, sticky rice wrap, and pan fried noodle.

Dim sum is reasonably priced, they have all the classics. Served all day so one of the few spots around you can get dim sum after 11AM. Service is fantastic. There may be a bit of a wait cause the restaurant only accommodates like 5 tables but it goes fast. Hot tea and sweet coconut buns are a great way to spend an afternoon.

Absolutely a hidden treasure in the San Gabriel Valley. Don’t let the small dining room and lack of “imperial” decorum scare you off. This is hands down one of the best Dim Sum houses in all of Southern California. The pork spare ribs, chicken feet, and rice porridge were all beautifully balanced and the textures were all spot on. The buns and rice paper rolls were soft and succulent. Nothing we had was overly greasy or salty and we didn’t leave feeling like we ate a mountain of MSG. The room once seated made you feel like you were in your Chinese grandmother’s kitchen and the owner was a great guy. He was enthusiastic and friendly and was very attentive. The highlight for me was the pan fried leek potstickers and the flakey egg custard tart. The rice porridge is also something that you should not overlook. It is definitely off the beaten path but is absolutely worth the drive. We drove from the San Fernando Valley on some business and this is probably going to be our go to place from now on.

Taste wise this place is one of the best in LA. It's full of flavors. Especially bao and dumplings' texture and flavors are so spot on. It's a tiny establishment so you cannot really sit back and be relaxed as there's some lines sometimes, but still it's worth it. The tea was fine too unlike some other shops in the states that do not care about it at all.

Ordered pick up on a Saturday afternoon and it was a packed house, but I can see why. As a fellow Canto, I approve, everything we ordered was amazing, and they do not skimp out on portion/size. We ordered the cheung-fun, siu mai, and ha gao, and none disappointed — exactly what we needed after traveling and missing Chinese food. The person at the front was quick and very friendly, he was grateful for me placing the order online and thanked me for my business. This might be my new dim sum joint!

I’m the self proclaimed undisputed king of abalone chicken porridge at this establishment. There’s no comparison the amount I ordered here compared to anyone on the scoreboard. Now that we got that out the way….It’s really that good here and I buy it not only for myself but my family when we’re not feeling well either. Hits the spot. I’m usually ordering between 5-15 items per order so I’ve been able to try out a lot of the menu. Quality is pretty good overall (Chinese broccoli, pork spare ribs, pastries, Cheung fun, baked and steamed buns, shiu mai, chicken feet, sticky rice, sesame balls, other dumplings). David, feels like an old friend who happens to also work at a dim sum restaurant taking your order. The others who work there are pretty nice too! You know that feeling growing up when your parents take you to restaurants and they know someone there? This is a rare combination of good food and customer service with Asian American done well. There have been times when I ordered thru an app, but it’s way better to do a phone order for pickup and they’re pretty good on timing/fast.

We drove by and we noticed it was very small but we were extremely hungry for dim sum and it was late for dim sum. We decided to try it anyway. To our surprise, the place is clean and the food is delicious. One of the best dim sum places I’ve eaten and we’re in the heart of Monterey Park and Alhambra. This place kicked ass! Coming back again!

Atmosphere was super fun. A co owner sat down and talked with all his customers. A warm cozy environment. Food was 10/10. Brough my mom, sister, and father who all ate until we were full. The pricing is extremely reasonable and do not underestimate the proportions 🥟♥️

The sweet options are not your usual basics, instead sweet custard egg delights, coconut yeast buns and pineapple custard to finish off your meal. The portions are generous and right on when it comes to taste. The owner is such a sweetheart and was so attentive during our whole meal, despite brisk walk in business. Kudos to the Dim Sum chef for his creativity. It was so good we had to grab an order for the road. What a neighborhood gem.

Flavors are so vibrant and delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough!! The steamed shrimp dumplings, shrimp shumai, and egg tarts were our favorites!

NBC Seafood is our normal Dim Sum spot, but we decided to try this place. It’s great! It’s a little spot in a strip mall and very intimate. The service and staff is all very personable and friendly and helpful. We got a little bit of everything. As white people we weren’t familiar with everything but the waiter suggested what we should and shouldn’t get and he was right. Everything tasted amazing. I LOVE pineapple buns and theirs was amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything here!!

Authentic taste, fast, and good portion size! You can taste the quality at the first bite. I plan to make it a regular stop whenever I visit LA. Wish it was closer to AZ!

I'm glad we found this local spot by accident! The food was delicious, the service was good, and the price was very reasonable! The restaurant is small, with only five tables. Picture menus are on the wall, and many dimsum pastries are displayed in the case. We got all the Simsum must-have items, and we also ordered a personal favorite, including a beef ball and a sugarcane shrimp ball. I asked the staff for his favorite and he recommended the shrimp chive dumplings. I am not a Chive fan, but I was impressed with this dumpling; the dough was thin, a whole shrimp, and lots of Chive filling; it was yummy!All the dimsum are made in-house. They have another store in El Monte. I love this newly found local family-owned business!! I sure will come back and support it!

My favorite dim sum place in SGV. Not the biggest dim sum menu, but it's all the hits, and they're extremely high quality. The har gow, the shu mai, the congee, the pineapple buns, the spare ribs, everything is absolutely delicious. It's a small place with a small plaza parking lot, so there might be a wait, but it's worth it. Service is incredible with a small but kind team. Please please try this place if you love dim sum!

You get a marker and menu to mark off what you want; it’s à la carte style, with each dish around $5–7 for about 3–4 pieces. Everything was delicious! I do have my top favorites (🌟). I love the mom & pop shop vibes that feel cozy and casual. It’s perfect for a quick bite with some hot tea (which they happily refill). Every dish looked fresh and homemade, and you can really taste it. The dumpling wrappers had a nice chewy texture and didn’t fall apart or feel too thick: just right. My top favorite was the Turnip Cake, it’s simple but perfectly crispy on the edges & the Pineapple Bun they are baked just right and sweet custard filling w/ a nice delicious flakey crust😋. Honestly, I’d come here over the big dim sum restaurants any day, though the space is small so it’s better for pairs or small groups. Great spot for casual dim sum lovers looking for quality, freshness, and heart in every bit.

Big portion for food orders but a bit small places for gathering or meeting with friends. They just up the pricing due to tarrif.

Very good dim sum in LA area! My friend was craving for dimsum, and this one appeared with 4.7 stars! Most dishes were pretty close to the one in HK. Hagao and rice roll were good, although skin can be even thinner and smoother. Chicken feet and dumplings were amazing. Best was the porridge, very flavourful and yummy. Will come back if I visit LA area again. The service was very good, the server was very attentive. Atmosphere was okay, small little restaurant. We felt hot after having porridge. Kudos to a family restaurant!

Don’t let the busy compound or limited seating deter you—this dim sum is absolutely worth it! I suggest calling ahead, and if you have a favorite dim sum, ask if they can reserve it before it runs out.

Very small HK style restaurant with seating capacity for 18 people. Not your typical dim sum parlor with roving carts. Modest selection and food was respectable for such a family owned business. No restrooms but they will provide a coin for access to one in the 24 hour laundromat next door.

Update Sept 2025 Stopped by on my way home and happy I did. Same great dim sum, but I guess prices are going up. I have had dim sum in a while, so can’t say if it’s just this place or all dim sum places, but it’s no longer a cheap snack at these prices. Will I be back? Of course, but have to check around a bit to see if everyone is doing the same. The quality is definitely there for such a small place and easy to order and pick up to go. The only order I regret is the sugar cane shrimp. Was not as crispy as I would like by the time I got home, but that’s on me. Should have eaten those but eh parking lot :) they do crisp up well in the toaster oven or air fryer, just not quite the same. Everything else heated up well in micro and was packed really well for the trip home. Slight change in score due to price, but everything else is the same quality and service. ——— Great dim sum, service and portions. Stopped by for a quick take out lunch as I was short on time, but they had a table open so I sat down to order. I tried the fried sugar cane shrimp, siu mai, shrimp roll and pan fried dumpling. I though the prices were a bit high for dim sum, but the portions were larger than traditional dim sum restaurants and quality was better too. Definitely a place to take friends if you want to try different dishes. I had to take half home, but was happy I tried every dish. Service was pretty quick for the steamed items. The fried ones took an extra minute or two, but I had all my dishes in less than 10 mins and was out in 30! The table side chili doesn’t look like much, but it’s a must. Great flavor and a nice kick.

Was craving some dim sum while in SG and found this spot. We honestly expected it to be much larger but it’s a smaller corner space at the end of the plaza towards the parking lot exit. It’s a no frills spot that coincidentally due to its space, makes most of their food on the sport as it’s ordered versus keeping them in steam trays and rolling them around the restaurant. No room for any of that so it just comes straight to you. Prices are great for the amount and size of the items you order. Dumplings are practically double the size of normal ones and very flavorful and juicy with plenty of meat. The pan fried noodles were spot on though personally I wish they had something more for flavor rather than just the wok seasoned pan. Same for the shrimp spring roll. Simply a bit too fried that it fell apart but it had BIG pieces of shrimp in each one. We had a full pot of tea and ordered the egg tarts. A bit smaller than I’m used to but simply delicious. Same for the pineapple pastry which name escapes me. Definitely a decent spot to stop in for lunch or order ahead since they tend to run out of many items during lunch rush.

Hong Kong Dim Sum House has very good tasting, fresh, and fast service. The owner does serving, taking orders and cleaning tables as well. He told me they buy fresh and high-quality meat. I concurred. Yes, the Dim Sums are very fresh and excellent tasting. The prices are high, but at least $1 - $1.50 lower than Lunasia. The restaurant has very limited tables & chairs, crowded. That us the reason I give them 2*. I recommend this Dim Som restaurant.

Very small HK style restaurant with seating capacity for 18 people. Not your typical dim sum parlor with roving carts. Modest selection and food was respectable for such a family owned business. No restrooms but they will provide a coin for access to one in the 24 hour laundromat next door.

Update Sept 2025 Stopped by on my way home and happy I did. Same great dim sum, but I guess prices are going up. I have had dim sum in a while, so can’t say if it’s just this place or all dim sum places, but it’s no longer a cheap snack at these prices. Will I be back? Of course, but have to check around a bit to see if everyone is doing the same. The quality is definitely there for such a small place and easy to order and pick up to go. The only order I regret is the sugar cane shrimp. Was not as crispy as I would like by the time I got home, but that’s on me. Should have eaten those but eh parking lot :) they do crisp up well in the toaster oven or air fryer, just not quite the same. Everything else heated up well in micro and was packed really well for the trip home. Slight change in score due to price, but everything else is the same quality and service. ——— Great dim sum, service and portions. Stopped by for a quick take out lunch as I was short on time, but they had a table open so I sat down to order. I tried the fried sugar cane shrimp, siu mai, shrimp roll and pan fried dumpling. I though the prices were a bit high for dim sum, but the portions were larger than traditional dim sum restaurants and quality was better too. Definitely a place to take friends if you want to try different dishes. I had to take half home, but was happy I tried every dish. Service was pretty quick for the steamed items. The fried ones took an extra minute or two, but I had all my dishes in less than 10 mins and was out in 30! The table side chili doesn’t look like much, but it’s a must. Great flavor and a nice kick.

I came to this place a couple of times already but I did not pay too much attention to the food. Today I felt like having some bao and egg tarts. I was just happened to pass by this place and stop by and grab a quick bite. They didn't make the bao on the spot while I wait, but the bao did not seem to have enough egg custard in inside. The egg tarts at $2 a piece, is on the small side. You can pretty much get eight cards for $2 mostly everywhere, and generally they are normal size at least two and a half inch in diameter. How tall is the egg tarts is a little bit sweet for my taste. But it is fluffy. I had much better elsewhere.

First of all, the food is good here. Now, I came here yesterday on a Sunday afternoon. That means, busier than usual. The wait was averaging about 45mins. The menu was posted outside. So, I knew my partner and I were going to get 5 orders of the Shrimp noodle (In the menu called Shrimp Rice Roll), 2 orders of the Shrimp and Pork Shiu Mai, 1 of the Fried Suger Cane Shrimp, and for desert the Baked Pineapple Custard Bun. Now, when the food came out 2 to 3 plates at a time we were finishing it as quick as we could, so that nothing got cold. We were given tea, but was not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Half way through, my partner asked for a water and that was forgotten. The possible owner was getting most of the orders in. We asked a 2nd time and she got her water. This was a very small place with maybe around 12 small tables that could be moved around for larger groups. I've included outside pictures as well as few inside as well.
