Awesome Taiwanese style breakfast. If u have never tried chinese donut, doesnt get much better than this place. If u get sugar on your donut it can be a delicious dessert. Purple rice roll is amazing. Would be a great thing to pack for a hike. Would keep nicely and packs very well. Salty soy milk with donuts is very comforting. I really liked it with some chili oil. Great spot!

Delicious Taiwanese breakfast and pastry options including fresh soy milk, purple fan tuan/rice rolls and super flavorful radish cake with garlic sauce. I loved that they also have many frozen dumplings, sun cakes and pastries and more too grab and go. Extensive menu with many authentic Taiwanese eats! Highly recommend!

Best daikon radish cake I have ever eaten in my life. It was piping hot, crispy on the outside, almost gooey on the inside. It was clean, easy to order, and pretty much everything was delicious. We also had purple rice role, salty soy milk. Would definitely go back.

The food overall was delicious! We ordered the beef roll wrapped in scallion pancake, daikon cakes, juicy pork dumplings, and beef sandwich. The bread for the sandwich was a bit dry. Definitely recommend the pancake instead. The beef and the scallion pancake had great flavor. The daikon cake was tasty as well. Slightly oily but expected bc it is fried. The soup dumplings were good. Be careful when removing from the paper bc it was delicate and can tear/lose the soup.

Love! Really delicious and authentic Taiwanese foods. We gobbled down our foods before we could take pics - that’s how much we love their food. Of course we always get their fan tuan (delicious Taiwanese purple rice burrito), the soy milk and also their peanut drink, yum!

Otherworldly food. Reasonable prices, the Chinese donut + flatbread was great, so was the scallion pancake but the purple rice roll was the standout dish. We got it with the purple rice and added egg, the ingredients blended together so well. Enjoyed the peanut milk and milk tea, good atmosphere and quite spacious. 10/10 would recommend.

I love their breakfast rice plates. That Taiwanese sausage hits the spot! And the sweet tofu pudding just brings me back so many good memories from the Philippines.

Yi Mei in Arcadia is usually where I go to satisfy my Taiwanese food cravings. This location is much closer and it’s in the same plaza as Gamjatop! The inside is spacious and clean but it looks like it was meant to be a kbbq joint. I ordered a purple rice roll with sour pickles and green onion egg with a side of Taiwanese sausage and peanut milk. I’ve had the regular rice roll here before and I prefer that over the purple rice variant, but it’s nice that there’s a healthier option. You can order up front or you can scan the QR code at your table. Currently, there is a 2% cash discount but I chose to pay with my Costco card because of the 3% cash back for restaurants 😎

Their beef noodle soup is so good! This fast casual restaurant just does it right. Place is clean and everything is good. Get the pan fried dumplings, the xlb is also good. Egg omelette with tortilla is great too. Pork chop rice plate is pretty good. Chicken rice plate is just popcorn chicken.

I had to try the newest Yi-mei restaurant in San Gabriel. I often drive on Main Street/Las Tunas but I didnt really notice it till today. 14 of us met there for a family/friends reunion. They had long tables that could accommodate us. It was perfect. I took photos of the outside and inside while waiting for my group but we got so busy with our reunion that i forgot to take pictures of the food. All I say is that the food, presentation and taste, is exactly like the other Yi-mei locations: CONSISTENTLY yummy. The Yi-mei management team understands the importance of food quality and consistency throughout their locations. Sorry, I will take pics of the food next time.

Popular Taiwanese restaurant with brunch menu. My date prefers food that reminds him of his hometown and recommended it for breakfast. I went with the fuzzy notion there would be soy milk and something donut-adjacent. It was pretty much what I expected, plus a couple nice surprises. We ordered exclusively from the brunch menu. Rice rolls were yummy. So were the donuts. I expected them to be sweet. My date expected them to be salty. They were a little salty, not really. Was surprised by how much sugar my date dumped in the soy milk, but he was right, it was good that way. Kinda bland without, not bad though. The beef rolls were good. A little dry, much yummier with chili sauce. Pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was. Much better deal than typical egg sandwich places I frequent. Also, so much meat! Normally, I’m charged $2 just to glimpse the sausage. Not here. Protein for days. Even milk was high protein, my date reminded me. We sat down, looked at menus, my date ordered at the counter. We ate and left, no waiting for the bill—it was prepaid. Breakfast food was so different from my usual fare, it felt like lunch. Was yummy and affordable. Would go back, if my partner wanted to. Solid brunch menu. FYI women’s restroom is back left facing the restaurant. Men’s is back right, down the hall. Sign says customers only.

Really excited to try out this highly recommended and popular store. We focused on traditional Chinese breakfast as it's one of the few choices in town, and I think it's pretty decent. The service in the front was friendly and prompt but the service at the table and overall process can be improved. I really liked the salty rice roll, the baked breads were pretty good. The salty Oyster omelet was ok but not spectacular. Tip1. Double check the delivered items. We made a few additions, the counter lady happily added them but delivered items do not always matches our options. Tip 2: try to find a place to sit first, get the number on the table and use it to order with QR code or at the counter. The process is either you get a table, and order at the table, or you order at the counter, they give you an order number, you sit down and they deliver based on the order number. This process works well in general. The process breaks down when things are busy during weekends, since you find your own table, one time, it was frustrating to find/fight to get a table some times. Another time, we were able get a table but could get anyone to clean it up for us.

Got the pork chop rice, veggie purple rice roll, and milk tea. The rice plate came with pickles, cabbage, and whole braised egg. The meat was flavorful and tender and it good portion size for $12. The milk tea was also very good. The only thing we would not recommend is the rice roll. The chinese donut was tough and not crunchy and overall was very plain with only picked veggies included.

Specializing in Taiwanese breakfast and light bites, a good place to satisfy your Taiwan food fix. Plenty of free parking and friendly staff. A large dining area with several tables. Ordered the cold peanut milk drink ($3.45 regular) which was good and creamy, the salty soybean pudding ($4.50 regular), and purple rice roll ($6.75). The only letdown was the purple rice roll was super dry. Every bite sucked out your saliva and would have to take a sip of drink with each bite to get it down. Even though the roll was dry, I recommend and would return to try their other offerings!

I liked this new SG location that is so new and clean, the interior is also bright and roomy. Service was fast. Order at the counter then find a seat, sit back, and enjoy. But don't be fooled by the menu on the wall, they also sell pastries, dumplings, rice & noodle dishes, and frozen goods. Everything we had that day tasted fresh, I'm glad they are not like other similar restaurants nearby that always sell old and stale leftover food. Yimei is def a good Taiwanese breakfast addition to SG. The only con would be the authenticity, I feel like some items were not 100% authentic Taiwanese flavors, but overall we enjoyed the food. It is certainly better than Four Sea and Yung Ho cafe IMO.

Can't go to Taiwan to eat the comforting breakfast food and you're craving for them right now? Come to Yimei. You will get your carving fixed fast. The newly opened San Gabriel branch on Las Tunas is a much needed Taiwanese breakfast restaurant in the area. Right now, there is only Sihai Taiwanese restaurant next door which is a very small with limited menu Taiwanese restaurant. The new Yimei brings in a clean and roomy environment for dinners. The menu is also extensive. I can get all my childhood favorite Taiwanese food here. We finally got a chance to stop by for breakfast today. We ordered quite a few items. Today's special is onion pancake. This item didn't quite meet my expectation as the pancakes were a bit dried. But the shaobing or sesame flatbread with egg was excellent, it tasted like the ones I had in Taiwan. The flatbread was toasted to crunchy and flaky with soft omelet inside. Another yummy food we ordered to glutton ourselves was the daikon cake with egg. This one was soft and tasty. The combination of egg, daikon, rice flours, and other Chinese meats and spices were made into perfect harmony to create a delectable savory breakfast. When you having a Taiwanese breakfast, you can not go without a bowl or a cup of sweet hot soy milk. The soy milk here is one of the best. The texture is smooth and silky with no burning taste. You can add sugar to the soy milk to suit your own taste. The service was good. The older auntie was very friendly and helpful. This restaurant requires the customers to order first and then find a table to sit down. The servers will bring the food to your table when they are ready. The prices are very reasonable. Even with our excessive ordering, we only paid less than $30. We were so full. Give it a try if you're craving for Taiwanese breakfast or if you want to venture to find out what the Taiwanese food fuzz is all about. But I have to warn you, you'll be hooked for life.

We enjoy coming here for lunch. It’s clean, quick, very reasonably prices and fresh with nice service. It can get busy but everything still comes out pretty quickly. All the food is delicious. Just wish food was served at a higher temperature. This location is super convenient with plenty of parking.

I born equipped with Taiwanese DNA and I think this is a fusion-ish place. The oyster omelette is overly starched. The soybean milk is alright. The porky noodle soup was not sweetened enough, which made it kinda boring.

The food looked great, but it really was so-so. The onion pancake was a bit hard, the soy milk was a bit too sweet (only one sweetness), the oyster pancake was not the best, and the rice ball was just OK. Definitely won't be coming back if places like Yong He exists.

The food was greasy and not light enough. I would like to point out this bowl of salty soy milk. It didn't taste greasy at all. It was very unpalatable. The children didn't like it either, so we gave up after trying it. It was unpalatable. It was an unpleasant morning. To sum it up, the food was too greasy and the soy milk was not tasty.
