The lobster with noodle (with yee main) is really delicious. The wonton is flavorful. The morning glory is ok. Plenty of choices to choose from. Enormous parking lot . Fast service. The restaurant can fit almost 100 people

I grew up in hong kong. Sam woo bbq restaurant has great price and food. The flavor is authentic hong kong dishes. It reminds me of my childhood. I have tried so many dishes here in the restaurant & via Uber Eat. You need to try this! Authentic hong kong/ Cantonese flavors:)

I came here 1 day before lunar year celebration (chinese new year), the line was very long just to get the bbq for the nite of chinese new year eve. Service was fast. I've been eating here since 1997, the taste for ducks & bbq still good and remain the same. The portion is big. Recommended for roast duck, bbq cashu and roast pork lover.

Haven't been here since the pandemic and the food is still delicious and priced reasonably. Came for lunch and got the #145 Dual BBQ Rice Combo $13.95 and it was fantastic. Also my server was helpful and explained the dishes for me. They have a takeout area by the front entrance. Free parking in lot.

Chenlin Lu (Leo)

Decent Cantonese style barbeque, loved this place, not disappointed at all. Quick service and friendly workers. The Chashu was perfect and the roasted duck was the best in this area. A good amount of rice was given and the fried tofu was fried as order and both crispy outside and tender inside. It was just perfect.

Jan 2024 update : With so many old favourites closing, this became an old reliable. Prices have gone up a couple of dollars since the pandemic, but not more than average. Of the dishes ordered, roast duck is still the excellent taste and texture of old. Yang chow fried rice and lobster on noodles were above average to good. Sizzling chicken and fish in black bean sauce were good to very good. Nothing on the menu is bad, can't go wrong with any, and good value. Overall recommended. 2018: Okay food. I was today years old when I found out that not all Sam Woo's are the same. We learned from the staff that the children of original owner now manages the various location. The same business model of BBQ counter attached to a restaurant, but the menu varies depending on the management. We were craving some items we had in a Sam Woo location in the Valley, but they didn't have it here. So we just tried out a couple of items. Everything tasted good, as expected from a standard Chinese restaurant. The layout is a bit more spacious and slightly more upscale compared to the other locations. One of the older staff that spoke Vietnamese was super helpful and had great energy. His service alone deserve 5 stars.

San Gabriel is my old stomping grounds. My poor 87 yr. old mom has been cooped up at home since this pandemic. So stopped by and got a lunch special chicken curry, eggplant, thin noodles with soup and tea , 1/2 a roast duck, soy chicken leg and beef chow fun. It all came up to $39 and some change. I also got a free roll of tp. Fast food chinese food. So good. Although they forgot my dipping sauce for the duck. Overall you can't beat the price and good food.

Previous years the food was amazing. The night we went the food was bland. The deep fried Sole fish was not good at all. The batter is all we tasted. The vegetables were very good and crunchy. Wonton Soup was average.

The food is good. The service is not bad. They don't take amex. Food a bit on the higher price but overall pretty decent.

Heads up friends, don't stop by this restaurant. Had a very disappointing experience when I went by this week in the evening. Very unfriendly employees will take advantage of you by lying about prices and claim the overhead menu pricing is "old and outdated". In addition, as I was leaving, I could hear them mocking me in Cantonese. I would say skip this place and find food elsewhere.
