Really good! I got the chow mein with chicken and I was impressed, it was delicious. So flavorful and great combination of ingredients. My boyfriend also said it was so good. I ordered take-out tonight while it was busy and took about 20min. The staff was really nice, they checked on me while I waited and even offered water. When I got the food it was so fresh and hot. It really hit the spot.
This is my first time visiting a Burmese restaurant. Inside, there are many pictures depicting Burmese people (cartoon) and the map of Myanmar. I’m not sure how authentic this place is, but I think it also has some fusion food like the samosa soup. The tea leaf salad was great and unusual. This place is also great for vegetarians since it offers many vegan choices. I ordered the noodles, it tasted like Pad Thai and a little too sweet. It’s still a nice place for dining and I hope to try other dishes as well.
Thie kebat lamb with briyani rice is just amazing, I order it every two weeks and still feels like a treat. The portions are generous, when I do takeout I usually have 2-3 meals out of it.
I'm Burmese and this place is quite delicious and the ingredients are authentic and fresh so we love coming here. Some dishes are quite expensive $15 for FOUR samosas is insanity ahaha but I admit they are delicious! I'll still make mine at home though at that price. If it was more affordable we would eat here even more regularly but that's the economy! It's a wonderful place to splurge! Try everything because it's all delicious!!
Really love this restaurant, and the flavors of this authentic food. Only have done takeout. Want to dine in soon. Pleasant staff. Food is outstanding. Chicken lettuce cups, fiery vegetables, basil chicken, fried gluten free calamari, fish soup, coconut rice. Everything we have ordered has been very good to outstanding. Can't recommend this place enough. Good gluten free options for my GF.
We went for a year end business lunch. Didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered was tasty.
Service and food- 5/5! Ambiance isn't too bad either if you're not expecting something fancy. The tamarind cocktail with tajin spice was lit. Palata with curry, sweet tofu, and fiery vegetables were all worth coming back to. Shan tofu wasn't too bad but not as good as the others.
Stopped by for Burmese food before heading back south and we loved it. 90 degrees outside, we were invited inside even though we had our pup with us and our server was very accommodating, offering us a table that didn’t bother other diners. The restaurant filled up fast and had an inviting energy. We ordered lemongrass chicken, ginger chili beef (nice and spicy) and garlic broccoli, all delightful. The food was served fast and was just delicious. We would have ordered more from the varied menu but the portions were large enough and we left feeling full to the brim.
I have been here so many times and not sure why I haven’t written a review yet. This place is amazing in so many ways. First off, their food is excellent! My faves are the tea leaf salad, the curry, and the pork belly with green mustard. Secondly, their service is always friendly and efficient. Lastly but most importantly, THEY HAVE HONEST AND GOOD PEOPLE THERE! Tonight, I accidentally forgot my bag there and didn’t realize for hours that I forgot got it. I called 15 minutes before they closed and they said they had it! I was so happy! I’m grateful they had my bag and every single thing was inside! Thank you Burma Choice!
This place has an extensive menu. Food was very yummy. The Burma Crispy Chicken was great, super crispy with a nice tangy glaze.
We got the palata with coconut chicken curry and the black pepper chicken. Both were delicious. Would come again!
Burmese dishes are one of the Asian dishes I love. When I search for Asian food, Burma Choice has good reviews. It turns out that it is an excellent choice. Burma Choice is in a shopping center with a huge parking lot, so parking is not an issue. This is important in San Jose, where restaurants that don’t have enough packing spaces for their customers are common. The dining room in Burma Choice is clean and comfortable. It is excellent with the delicious dishes they serve. The service is a little slow but our waitress is very friendly. I will be back next time when I’m in the area.
First time having Burmese food. It was tasty with interesting flavors. The service is quick and friendly.
After having limited expectations for Southeast Asian restaurants in the United States, my perspective changed entirely after visiting this particular spot. The Burmese House Noodles, with their subtly sweet taste, were an excellent appetizer. The stir-fried chicken, seasoned perfectly with pepper, received high praise, but the star of the meal was undeniably the bird curry. While rooted in Indian curry flavors, it wasn't overpowering, resulting in a beautifully balanced taste. The shrimp within the curry were exceptionally delicious, truly satisfying my appetite. This restaurant stands out not just for its food but also for its unique ambiance and luxurious interior. It caters to a diverse crowd, from couples to families, and the staff's friendly and energetic attitude added to the experience. What's more, the prices were quite reasonable compared to other places I've been to. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to my friends. Additionally, ample parking space and nearby dessert cafes and a Starbucks made it incredibly convenient—no need to travel far for a post-meal treat.
The first thing I will say about this restaurant: I will be back and will bring my family. I don't often have Burmese food, and this restaurant really offers a variety of delectable dishes, with just the right amount of spiciness to make it authentic for the Southeast Asian palate.
Our first time in a Burmese restaurant and we liked it. Did not feel like there was any stalk or pieces of meat in any of their dishes which was very comforting(which happens in some restaurants)Especially our kid with sensory/feeding issues loved their coconut rice and the fried potatoes that comes with samosa soup. Loved the mango salad, liked the tea leaf salad but will opt for no tea leaf dressing next time. The jack fruit banana desert was very tasty. Fast and friendly service. Will be visiting again and recommend it to all vegetarians/vegans.
Had the Tea Leaf Salad, very good. I really like the different crunches in this salad. Honey glazed walnut shrimp. They were good with the right amount of sauce. Burmese shrimp curry. The light batter on the shrimp melted in the sauce. Not too spicy and tasty. Could be better without the batter. Sat outside, they were very busy.
First time trying Burmese food, Burma house noodle was awesome, fresh juicy shrimp. The ginger chili pork was very tasty but it was little too spicy for me. The price is very reasonable, friendly staffs and nice environment! They also have outdoor seating which is awesome, you can enjoy your meal with your fur baby.
Food was good, as expected. I recommend the Burma House noodles and pineapple fried rice. The calamari appetizer was extra crisp which was generally liked by the table and we finished with sticky rice ice cream which was interesting. The service was prompt and organized. Don't mind coming here again.
🍜🍜We loved our dinner at Burma Choice, San Jose! It made for a great weeknight dinner! Burmese food is a special mix of flavors from India, China, and Southeast Asia. We tried: - Shrimp rolls, a Burmese favorite with a crunchy outside and tasty inside - Fried salt and pepper calamari - Coconut noodles soup, a creamy and comforting dish popular in Myanmar - Chicken garlic noodles, a savory and aromatic mix of local ingredients - Basil lemongrass swai, a fresh and zesty fish dish with a Burmese twist - Burmese chowmein, a tasty stir-fry with noodles and spices The service was great, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed learning about Burmese cuisine and can't wait to try more!
I loved it. I recommend this restaurant and would come again. We came for lunch and sat outside because we had dogs. They even brought the dog water bowl to our dogs. There are umbrellas for shade. I'm not familiar with many Burmese dishes (I am more familiar with Thai or Indian food), and I loved everything. Everything tasted very fresh. I want to come back to try more. I ordered the Nan Gyi Thoke (rice noodle with coconut curry sauce and chicken), and I would recommend it. The roti (Palata) and Shan Tofu were also very good!

We wanted to get some food before the movies and we were pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian options. The sesame tofu was 10/10. You must try the samosa soup. We licked our plates clean. Food was fast, really cute restaurant and the staff were friendly.
Celebrated my Parent’s Anniversary here and had an incredible dining experience! Extensive vegetarian options and all the dishes were so flavorful. The service was great.

Burmese food is a lighter style of Thai, almost like a blend between Nepalese and Thai food. We had a samosa soup, a noodle dish, the tea salad, a Shan tofu and a side of paratha bread. All tasted good and authentic although the single piece of paratha side is slightly pricey considering the portion size vs price. Good service even during the busy lunch hours.
Recently I tried this place out for dinner. The staff was helpful, attentive & polite. Even though we chose to sit outside as they were pretty busy on the inside, they still made sure to check on our party quite frequently and when they didn't, immediately apologized; though there was no need to as the service was great. The food came out fairly quickly. I had the Garlic noodles with tofu entree, shared a samosas appetizer, and had the Arnold Palmer to drink. The portion sizes are huge so you will definitely get full + some. The flavor of the entree was good, though I was disappointed with the lack of garlic punch and overall seasoning. The dish was a bit bland, but the pickled onion & pepper side was a nice touch and helped with the overall flavor profile. The samosas were very good and flavorful. The Arnold Palmer left alot to be desired, it was quite bland but I asked for a bit of sugar and that helped a bit. I will definitely be back, think they are on to something good.
I saw reviews to this new place and decided to give it a try. Never tried Burmese cuisine before so did not know what to expect.... I ordered 2 appetizers...Crispy Pork belly and Palata with chicken curry. I ordered a Burmese milk tea. The tea was a disappointment. The Crispy pork was OK. It was too dry, it came with a sweet sauce. I asked for a hot sauce and got a sauce that was very hot so mixed the 2 sauces together and dipped the pork in it, was OK I will pass.... The Palata was great. The curry was delicious a little salty. The Palata was crispy and went well with the curry. I would visit again just for the curry, it was good.... Enjoy your meal there !
I ordered pickup from here and the food was ready for pickup within 10 minutes of calling. I ordered the Burma Choice Noodle with Tofu and the Burma Chow Mein with Chicken. Burma Choice Noodle with Tofu - This dish kind of reminds me of Pad Thai. They did not skimp put on the sauce or tofu! It was very saucy which I like and squeezing the lemon on top made it even better! The tofu was a bit dry; I was expecting it to be softer. I would recommend this dish, but sub out the Tofu with either chicken, shrimp, or beef. 8/10 Burma Chow Mein with Chicken - The noodles were a bit dry but the chicken was juicy which helps to balance out the dish. 7/10 The portions for each dish is perfect for one person. I would recommend coming here to try! This spot is perfect for lunch and dinner since the interior is very welcoming.
We have been to Burma Choice several times and enjoyed the experience. There are not many Burmese restaurants in the area. So, the vibe, the decorations, and the flavors of the dishes feel different. On our most recent visit, Black Pepper Lamb was cooked just right, tender and juicy. Burma Choice Noodle (vegetarian) was flavorful. The only downside was that all the dishes were salty. And that is the reason why we don't visit this place very often. The staff were friendly but not striving for better service. Despite listing carrots, the Black Pepper Lamb came without them. When my husband asked about this, the response was a shrug and 'I don't know what the chef did.' There are many unique meat and vegetarian dishes. Be sure to order rice separately because it doesn't come with the dishes.
We ordered a few items from their lunch menu, and overall liked and enjoyed the food. We had noodles and seafood plates. Overall we found it slightly bland, the ale it swai was pretty good. We would like to come back but compared to popular Chinese and Thai places I did not found it very appealing.
I got a takeout order and the service was very quick. I would like to go back to try more items on the menu 😀 Burma house noodles with tofu (without egg and fish sauce) were good. Since I got the takeout order, the sauce got all accumulated at the bottom of the container which I figured out much later so the noodles felt a bit dry in the beginning so make sure to stir up your noodles before eating especially if you are getting takeout. Also, don't ignore the lemon they give on the side because it really brings out the flavours.
Palata w/ Chicken Curry Dip 4 flat roti, slightly dry chicken cubes, flavorful Fish Chowder Noodle Soup 3 vermicelli, too soggy, no catfish, hard boiled egg, fish sauce flavor Ginger Chili Pork 4 pork belly stir-fry, tender, juicy, too salty, not spicy
Stopped by for lunch and had a great experience. Parking was easy, and we found a table right away. Our food arrived quickly, which was a plus. We ordered the Minty Jalapeño Chicken, Palata with Vegetarian Dip, and Eggplant Curry. The chicken was packed with flavor, with a refreshing hint of mint and a kick of spicy jalapeño. The palata was perfectly flaky and paired well with the vegetarian dip. The eggplant curry was rich and well-seasoned. To finish, we had the sticky black rice with ice cream, which was absolutely delicious—the warm, slightly chewy rice paired perfectly with the cool, creamy ice cream. The restaurant’s ambiance matched its theme, creating an inviting and authentic atmosphere. Would definitely come back!
I am really appreciative of the kind of food they served. The samosa salad was perfect with its layered textures and the crunch factor of cabbage. The dish was easy to love with its bits of fried samosas and tamarind chutney. The coconut rice was mild, subtly sweet and went well with the Burmese chicken curry. The curry base was aromatic and mildly spiced. The decor of the place was simple but charming , I liked the idea of putting plants on tables. The staff was very friendly.
Nice interior and friendly staff. The salt and pepper calamari was just ok. The chicken curry with coconut milk was great. The eggplant with shrimp and garlic sauce was the best tasting. We also ordered the garlic noodles with pork was good. It had rice wavy noodles, which I like. The service was excellent. Next time, I will try their salads, which they had a good selection.

Burma Choice has consistently delicious food. It’s close by my home, so we eat there on the rare occasion that we eat out. It’s easy to share dishes family style. Unfortunately their prices have gone up significantly. We’re only able to get it once in a while. The tea leaf salad is a must have. We also love the samosas. For mains, the black pepper beef, basil lemongrass chicken, and pumpkin stew chicken are bangers.

We had lunch on a weekday at this place. It was less than half full. We ordered Burmese pork curry and lemon basil chicken, both recommended by our waiter. The food was good, with very large portions, although the quality of the meat could be better. The chicken was too spicy for my partner but I thought it was fine. Our dining table was very wobbly and it definitely impacted our dining experience. There was only one lady waiting the whole restaurant and someone else busting the table. Food was served pretty quickly. Overall a good meal but I would probably try a different restaurant if I were in the area again.

Honestly disappointed. Came here on a Friday night for dinner after a long week. The initial server was really warm and helped us get seated What followed was us ordering the black pepper beef which we never even received. We had to tell them at the end of our meal by which time they did not properly apologise. The least they could do was give it to us on the house given that we waited for so long. Ultimately the server came to us at the end and said that they apparently ‘voided’ it from our cheque. It was never brought to us to begin with. When that was communicated, they shrugged it off with a sheepish laugh. Extremely unprofessional and unexpected at this price point.
