I tried the brisket here and it was legit amazing — super tender, juicy, and full of smoky flavor. The vibe is chill, great spot to grab some BBQ and watch the game. Definitely coming back for the ribs next time!

I have nothing negative to say about this place. Our first time eating there. I think the sauce is best. The spicy sauce is sweet and slightly spicy. The family enjoyed the pulled pork, burnt ends and chicken. The baked potato is huge. The beans and coleslaw are tasty. The cornbread and garlic bread are just right. Maybe a little honey would make the cornbread perfect. We will never visit famous Dave's again as long as this place is around

I recently dined at The BBQ Pit with a large group, and we all had a fantastic experience! I ordered the BBQ spud with pulled pork, and it was absolutely delicious. The food came out fast, hot, and perfectly cooked, which was especially impressive given the size of our party. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent service, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Another highlight is their drink selection—I'm a big fan of Stubborn Soda, and they also have a great beer lineup to choose from. Overall, the experience was top-notch, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

While this new restaurant replaced the iconic Burger Pit, it truly provides an updated ambience and menu. The food is delicious to say the least. We chose the Brisket and it was the most tender brisket I have ever tasted. The beer menu is spectacular as is the service. This is a locally family run business and you can tell each employee strives to put their best foot forward!

I'm very glad the BBQ Pit is here to replace the Burger Pit. They are friendly and the food is good. The price is reasonable but I couldn't find their drinks price list. We ordered Santa Maria Salad n Large Chicken BBQ.

Awesome place. Food is great. Staff were very friendly and professional. Owner /GM was walking around checking in with customers. Spicy sauce is best I've had. Beer selection is amazing. Draft and tallie craft beer. Lots of seating. Great atmosphere. Would come again. A little pricey, but food is worth it.

Great to see the former Burger Pit didn’t stay vacant long. Took three hungry boys after basketball practice for lunch. We noshed on brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, and ribs. The garlic bread was 10/10 as was the pork and brisket. Cole slaw and potato salad were delicious, Mac and cheese was not the creamiest of cheesiest and along with the fries are what brought the review down from a 5. Fries needed a bit more seasoning and crisped up a bit. Love the natural sodas and widespread beer options. Would be an awesome place to gather a large group, watch a game, and enjoy a meal! We’ll be back for sure!

Good-looking place! The food is good also. The only suggestions I have is to make the cornbread a little bit sweeter cuz I'm from the south and I need sweet cornbread and the rib tips are a little bit fatty but the seasoning and flavor are great.

If you're familiar with Aptos St. BBQ you will like The Barbecue Pit. My wife and I have been 4 times now since they opened. We tend to get the brisket which is delicious, however the second time my wife complained about the salt level, and that can happen. The third time our bread pudding was dry, very dry, like week old leftover dry, and a little burnt on the bottom. We got it to go so we didn't complain, it just wasn't as enjoyable as every other time we have had it. It is delicious. They have some great beer on tap. So if you want some really good BBQ try The Barbecue Pit on the South side.

Awesome BBQ. The brisket melts in your mouth and the hot links have some really good flavor. The mac and cheese is super creamy and the coleslaw is nice and crisp. They have a good selection of craft beers on tap and the staff is really friendly. Definitely will not go hungry here!

I ordered the Boneless Rib sandwich with potato salad and soda. My friend ordered the burnt ends with some chili beans and some garlic toast. Over all food was good. The rib sandwich had a couple of bone fragments or cartlidge still left so I had to be careful munching on it with my teeth. The potato salad tasted a little old not fresh. They have different salad options. The burnt ends had too much BQ sauce and the chili beans tasted ok. Nothing spectacular but well cooked. 4 star for this review. Could they do better? Yes. Does it need a little QC? Yes. They have some sweet desert yummies. Breakfast also included and they open at 7am. I will be back and do recommend it for those looking for different BQ places.

I am so excited that The BBQ Pit has stepped into this location! The remodeled restaurant looks great, the service is friendly and the food is good. My son and I had a great time and hope to see this place succeed.

Flavor profile was giving chili, not baked beans, did not like at all. Also beans dry. I would go back to the drawing board on this dish if I were this restaurant. This was my first time ordering so not sure how consistent the food is from here, but overall it was very good and would try again. Just not the beans... D: and I LOVE baked beans :(

I'll always miss the prior establishment here, but since they left, The Barbeque Pit is a good replacement. The restaurant has been nicely remodeled, and the menu is good. The Mac and Cheese is particularly tasty. It would be nice if they had burgers on the menu also, but I can always find something good to eat here.

The tri-tip needed salt to enjoy, where previously it did not. Also previously I asked for extra sauce on my macaroni and cheese and they happily did, but last time they would not. 🥹 This last time I brought my family, raving how good it was, but the food was unpleasant or just okay, nothing to rave about. And suddenly it seemed SO EXPENSIVE where as before it felt worth the price. Not sure if or when I will return. First 5-Star review: The food is DELICIOUS! My favorites so far are the tri-tip, burnt end, and macaroni and cheese. Nothing like The Burger Pit that it used to be, of course it wasn't that bad either. BUT THIS PLACE! YUM! YUM! 😋

After 4 different visits I have come to the conclusion that this place is not worth it. The inconsistent food quality is a big issue. The main issue for me during my visits is that they can't seem to nail the temperature of the meat upon serving it. They need to install heat lamps or something to keep the meats at a decent temperature when plating them. By the time the kitchen plates the food and a server places the food on your table the meat has gone cold. I don't know why this keeps occurring. I have mentioned this to the staff, but they don't seem to care about doing something about it. The other issues relate to their side dishes. On one visit I ordered the Macaroni and Cheese and in that instance the pasta was sooooo overdone that it was falling apart into a puree. Their corn bread recipe is horrible, no flavor to it, they need to choose another recipe for it. Their beans side dish tastes straight out of a can. The ambiance is great, merchandise is interesting, as well as their beverage selection. But when it comes to the meats and side dishes they have a lot to work out. I am giving this place one more try (because I bought one of their deal cards) and if they don't meet my minimum expectations, I will never go back. I have a few neighbors that have mentioned the same issues, so I am not alone here with my review. One last thing, as you can see from my two photos posted, I paid a lot of money for the lunch combo to only receive the equivalent of 2 slices of meat. I say 2 because even though 3 slices are shown in the first photo all the fat they contained made up for one slice (as shown in the second photo). This is outrageous. I think the kitchen staff should be given the discretion to add more meat if there is too much fat in the slices. As soon as the money is used up in my gift card, this place will be off my list and will join the magnificent void of No Return.
