Sarku Japan is known for its ramen, particularly the spicy creamy vegan and spicy chicken ramen. Some find the ramen flavorful and authentic, while others find it too heavily seasoned or expensive for the quality. Service experiences vary.

I was very pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my experience here! To start, we got the takoyaki. This was crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey at the center. They sat in a layer of egg salad at the bottom, which I really enjoyed! This was super yummy. For my main entree, I got the JINYA Tonkatsu Black ramen! This was great! The broth was light but still full of flavor. I didn't feel greasy or too full after this. The noodle texture was perfect. I love that their noodles are a little thin. The soft boiled egg was shockingly the best part! Perfectly cooked and packed with umami!!! I highly recommend. The restaurant is very tiny, so I wouldn't recommend coming with more than 4 people. Parking can also be difficult at Oakridge Mall.
It may be called the Impossible rice bowl but the real star of the bowl is not the Impossible ground. Crispy tempura batter, creamy chickpeas, rich curry, and fluffy rice combine into the perfect bite. Service was friendly. It did take a bit of time to get the food but it was worth the wait. One of my favorite vegan friendly spots in town.
We love coming here whenever we are close by! I love their spicy vegan ramen and my kids love their kids meal. So yummy!
It was my first time and I had the 'spicy creamy vegan ramen'. It was authentic and flavourful. I would definitely go back there!
10/10. Just amazing. The noodles and broth were delightful. Now I will say the chicken I had was a bit bland for me. I’d for sure come back.
Been here so many times and never fails to hit the spot! Highly recommended My favorite is the Spicy Chicken Ramen
My first introduction to ramen and this place is phenomenal. The broth had so much flavor it was unbelievable. Wasn't to salty or to spicy . I got a level 3 to start but easily added more spice. Noodles were very filling and the seasoned egg was weird but tasty definitely worth a try. I will absolutely come back and price per person is reasonable especially for it being attached to the mall 10/10
Jinya was amazing!!! We’ve been coming to this restaurant for a few years and every time we’re here it never disappoints!! We value consistency and great costumer service and Jinya delivers both!! Our server, Ana, was attentive and insightful and provided flawless service. But, let’s not forget the food!! The kitchen at Jinya is truly wonderful at blending such an amazing concoction of flavor surely to be remembered. Be sure you try more than just their ramen, you won’t regret it! Definitely coming back soon. 11/10.
Decided to eat ramen on a 90 degree day…weird , I know, but it was yummy. The kids meal was a great value and a bit of everything plus vanilla ice cream- which my 5 year old enjoyed. The tonkatsu red had a spicy level of 1 (out of 10) cause I’m a weenie but it seemed spicier than a 1. My husband got the tonkatsu black and the broth was so good. Definitely recommend

The food tasted good. I ordered a mild spicy ramen bowl. Very warm. Perfect for cold weather. The spacing in the room felt a bit clustered though.
Jinya never disappoints. We came here for lunch and although the service was slow, they are very nice. I don't think they expected the mall to be so busy on a Monday. It was Cesar Chavez holiday for us, so maybe that is part of the hype? We ordered edamame, spicy crispy rice tuna rolls, vegan ramen, crunchy chicken, a beer, and a kiwi fizzy drink. The edamame was good and fresh. The tuna rolls were good and quite large difficult to eat in one bite. The vegan ramen was on point as always. I got the kale noodles (sooo good), corn, broccolini, and spicy bean sprouts. Everything was delicious. The crunchy chicken was a nice size side for the ramen - 3 big pieces. The only semi-disappointment was the kiwi drink. It was really tasty but the glass was so full of ice there were only a few sips of liquid. :( Not worth the price. The tab was $101 for 2 people, so it's not cheap, but it is fresh and delicious! If you've never been, it's quite small inside and very functional vs atmospheric. The patio is nice if the weather is nice.
Jinya Ramen offers a good spread of items on the menu, making it a solid spot for ramen lovers. I tried the Impossible Gyoza, which tasted very good, and the Brussels Sprouts Tempura, which was fine but not particularly standout. The Spicy Chicken Ramen, however, was flavorful and satisfying. The place itself is a bit small, so seating can be limited, but the overall atmosphere is decent. Service was good. Overall, a decent place to grab a comforting bowl of ramen!
Good Food. Have vegetarian options. Service was good too.

This place is definitely worth a visit! The prices are reasonable, and everything we tried was tasty. The chicken ramen had great flavor, but I’d love to see at least four pieces of chicken instead of the two small ones—it would make it perfect. The takoyaki was delicious too, though a bit on the sweeter side for my taste. Still, overall, a good experience with quality food and fair pricing.
I’d been craving ramen for a long time and found this restaurant with an interesting menu. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The food was expensive but not very flavorful. We ordered the shrimp tempura, which was super delicious, but the spicy chicken ramen was disappointing — it wasn’t spicy at all, even though we asked for medium spice. Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend this place. There are probably better and tastier ramen bars in San Jose. 🍜
Food was so so and priced a bit high for the quality of what you get. We ordered the shrimp wanton ramen and crispy rice with spicy tuna, neither was anything special or something I would want to get again. Service was OK. They have limited indoor seating and lots of outdoor tables but people were smoking outside so we were lucky to sit inside. Parking at this mall was horrible so it is not advised if you’re only coming here to dine.
The ramen was too thick and heavily seasoned for my taste - I prefer a more delicate, smooth broth. The chicken ramen felt more like a condensed chicken stew. The chicken salad was tasty with great seasoning, and the fried eggplant came with a sweet soy-based sauce. Overall, it was an okay spot.

The table was small and next to our table there was a rack for their supplies! We asked to move to a better seat and they said no. The food was OK but definitely not a good place to eat. Indoor seats are too close to each other. Definitely it was my first and last visit.
This review is for a dine-in experience. I typically order delivery on doordash but noticed the portions had gotten a lot smaller and it’s not as flavorful as it was. So I thought if I went into the restaurant I could gauge if it's the same. Unfortunately it's not. We went on a Friday night, the server said inside seating was closed and sat us on a large rectangular table outside. It was cold so I asked him to turn on the overhead heater but I had to ask a couple times before he actually did turn it on. The server seemed in a rush, didn't ask us if we wanted drinks or how spicy we wanted our ramen. The whole experience felt rushed and not as warm and welcoming as it should've been for a ramen place. Pretty disappointed as this it used to be really good. And it is one of the closest ramen spots for me but I think I will have to go somewhere else for good ramen. The place looks fancier than it is. I wouldn't bother choosing here unless you had no other options, the ramen is basic and you have to pay for all the extras as add-ons.

I’m so very sad to leave Jinya a poor review since my husband and I have loved the ramen here for a while. We went to Jinya last Saturday and my husband and I both got food poisoning. My husband’s bout was a day and nowhere as bad as mine. I’ve been suffering severely since last two days and had to go to the ER for IV fluids. My husband ordered the chicken ramen whereas I ordered the spicy vegan ramen. We also got the impossible gyozas and tacos. It’s so hard to believe that something vegetarian could cause such a horrendous stomach upset for me. It’s safe to say it was from Jinya as we haven’t eaten out since and the timing of both of us getting food poisoning. Jinya, please ensure you clean your ingredients thoroughly before serving your customers.
If I could give the service a 0 I would. Took about 10 mins to get seated. For reference 3 employees in front and one table with patrons. Once seated no one came up and greeted us for about 10 minutes, at which point they asked if we were ready. Drinks and food ordered. Brought my food out about 5 minutes before my wife’s. All of which took about 20 mins to make total. Pretty sure we saw some microwave action happening. Food dropped off, and never checked on again. Waters empty, no fork to eat with and the only staff member around was eating and watching his phone. Could have been his break, who knows but if you’re on break go somewhere other than the bar. Food was on par with fast food restaurant, could have made the same taste at home and I don’t cook this style of food. What a terrible mistake eating here.
Ordered an extra serving of impossible meat for a to-go order. I had paid extra for that but didn’t receive it in my order However, what is not forgivable is that they fried the broccolinis with the rubber band attached. I can only imagine the kind of food safety protocols that are followed if they do not bother to remove the rubber band before frying up leafy veggies. I don’t trust that they even bother to wash the veggies if they don’t even bother removing the rubber band.
