As a bengali foodie, I approve of the taste of the food as long as we classify as Bengali-Fusion. Taste is all great but if we take an “authentic bengali” judgment hat, Mishti pulao should be of “Gobindobhog” rice and the Ghugni should have goat keema. Mishti doi and Nolen Gurer sondesh are the Chef’s own creations. All good and understandable fusion modifications.
Eden Garden is a fantastic restaurant — centrally located in San Jose with great ambience, easy parking, and warm hospitality. We hosted the meet-and-greet for Filmfare Award–winning singer Madhubanti Bagchi (Aaj Ki Raat Raat), and the experience was excellent. Owner Archisman and his staff were professional, accommodating, and made everything seamless. The food was outstanding — flavorful, beautifully presented, and even included authentic Bengali dishes. Highly recommend Eden Garden for its great food, service, and welcoming atmosphere.
Undoubtedly the best bengali food in Bay Area! Its not oily like other places and it does have the authentic bengali taste you are craving ! Must try we have ordered in literally innumerable times it was our first visit and the buffet was DELICIOUS! So was the service… our server Kashish was really sweet took so good care . Will be back soon and will continue ordering !
A hidden gem of an authentic Bengali restaurant. The egg chicken roll was perfect. It totally felt like eating at the streets of Kolkata. The fish fry had a different marination inside than the green paste marinade that I am used to in Kolkata, but nevertheless, it tasted great. The biryani was tasty, too (and it has a potato!). The rohu kalia was the only item that was underwhelming, not because it was bad, but because it was not a Kalia, which is supposed to be a rich and decadent gravy. Rather, it was like a simple homecooked Rohu curry (jhol). It was good too, just that it wasn't a Kalia. Overall, it was a great experience, and will definitely visit again. It is rare to find authentic Indian Bengali food in the US, and I sincerely wish all the good things for the Eden Gardens.
Amazing food, nice and clean dine In. Chay was too good to believe. All the bar-b- q items were freshly made. Butter chicken had authentic taste, leaving a strong aroma in mouth after every bite. The menu is so diverse not a common i dian restaurant menu. Me and my family enjoyed every bit of the dinner.
Awesome food specially the Goat Curry and Soya Chaap!! It melts in your mouth!! The restaurant is very well maintained and organized and the staff is always friendly!! One true hidden gem of Bay Area! Best Indian Restaurant in San Jose, CA if not all of Bay Area!
We went for a special occasion buffet. The menu and taste was super authentic. Best Bengali food after a long time in California Bay Area. Good customer service.
Absolutely loved the restaurant. They have done a good job arranging and maintaining the place. Welcoming staff and good to dine in. Coming to the food- veg chop, fish fry and fuchka were perfect. Seemed authentic as per my taste buds and how I would expect in Kolkata. The fish fry actually exceeded my expectations as the outer batter was thin and tasted great. Only feedback would be if the fish filet was a lot thinner and additionally the egg roll had kasundi in it, which I have never had in an egg roll nor was it explicitly mentioned in the menu.
Hidden gem alert. The Bay Area's best authentic Bengali restaurant has stolen my heart. The sukto was a nostalgic masterpiece, while the jhuri bhaja's crispy perfection left me craving more. The fish cutlet was absolute perfection. Saving the best for last, the Nolen gurer Sandesh was sublime. A must-try destination for any Bengali food enthusiast.
I was craving Bengali food and decided to visit The Eden Gardens . We had their mishti polao, rui macher jhal, shrimp malaikari, and fuchka. Each and every dish was absolutely delicious and authentically Bengali. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in genuine Bengali cuisine!

This is a must visit place. Chicken lollipop was crunchy and you can taste every bit of tangy sauce. All food tasted fresh and warm. Goat dum Biriyani had good amount of goats. You don’t need to struggle to find and goat cubes. Service was great. We will visit again. They are offering 90 minutes free parking validation as well.
One of the best Bengali Indian restaurants I’ve visited in Bay Area! The food was full of authentic flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and beautiful presentation. The staff was friendly and made sure everything was perfect. The ambiance added to the warm dining experience. Highly recommend the Butter chicken, fish curry, garlic naan — simply delicious!😋
Had recently tried Dinner at Eden Gardens. The food was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and full of real Indian flavors. The staff were really friendly and welcoming! Overall, it just felt like a relaxed, enjoyable night out with awesome food. Definitely coming back — highly recommend if you’re craving good Indian food!
This was the best restaurant I've been to! The food is amazing, spiced to perfection, and they serve specialty Bengals dishes you can't get anywhere else. The waiting staff is so kind and attentive. Wonderful!

I’ve celebrated my birthday here for the past two years, and the experience has been consistently wonderful. Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are excellent. The staff is courteous and always greets us with a smile. They even surprised me with complimentary sweets on my birthday.
I cannot rate the atmosphere since we got the food 'to go' but before it changed owners they did not allow inside dining so now that it does I'll keep the star review consistent. We ordered food for lunch and it was super easy to order online through their website, it was ready in a short window of time, and the food was delicious. I'm sure the gobi Manchurian would be even better at the restaurant but it had great flavor and the sauce was nice and spicy. The rice was plain but fresh. The spicy chili/sesame naan was soooo good! It says it's spicy on the menu but I think it's difficult to control the spice level of the fresh peppers. It wasn't a spicy as the gobi but the flavor was smokey and nothing like I've ever had on naan. The garlic naan was also fabulous! I look forward to visiting the restaurant to try even more.
Restaurants don’t control everything about a location - they choose based on what’s available or affordable, so I will refrain from commenting on the location of the place. The artwork symbolizing the blend of Howrah Bridge and Golden Gate bridge symbolizes the union of tradition and diaspora in an interesting manner. Then there are quirky prints too that make the place feel homey and thoughtful. The pulao and shorshey fish were comforting and cooked to perfection. The chicken chop was a bit heavy on the garam masala but it still carried that nostalgic street-side edge. The chicken thaali was a really nice sampler. The aloo bhaja was just what it should be- crispy, golden and addictive. The shukto was a classic in a palate-opening way, an ode to proper Bengali beginnings. The sweet lassi was creamy, smooth and indulgent. Would definitely return for round two!
“The Eden Garden” in San Jose is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic Bengali cuisine. The restaurant offers a clean, welcoming atmosphere with a beautifully decorated interiors. The menu showcases a wonderful selection of traditional dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and rich in subtle, layered flavors that feel both familiar and comforting.

Great food (ordered catering), chicken kosha was a bit oily but authentic, peas kachuri and cholar daal made to perfection, veg biriyani was great, though the paneer doesn't go well in Bengali cuisine, but so does veg biriyani, nevertheless was tasty. Vegetable beat chop (croquettes) was made just like it's made at the streets in calcutta. Price of as reasonable vs. comps.. I will certainly go back to try out other dishes now that you have my attention. Why 4* vs 5* ? Chicken was too oily for my gut health. But that's me, I would appreciate if you still don't compromise the taste in the name of healthy food. Atmosphere is 3* not due to ambience of the restaurant (I took catering), but San Jose downtown can be a tough place with lots of homeless there, not much this restaurant can do.
Food is definitely not Kolkata style. It’s very far from authentic Bengali cuisine. If you are looking for Bangali khaoar this is not the place. We ordered luchi and sabji which was good. But other two orders of chicken biriyani and egg chicken roll were not up to the mark. Chicken biriyani is not Kolkata style. There was a very very tiny piece of potato in chicken biriyani which is unexpected in Kolkata style biriyani.
We were taken aback by the surroundings right when we reached the restaurant. It is in San Jose downtown near VTA so lot of unusual people and homeless folks around and screaming slangs. The inside ambience is good . There appears to be a high pitched sound as soon as you enter the restaurant. Some of us could hear this and got a headache while some in the group did not catch onto that noise . The food is Ok . Service is fine as well. We wanted to try it out but might not be a regular for this.the egg roll could have definitely been better. They used thin roti and even the egg seemed to be just a very thin wrap inside .

The Eden Gardens (Indian Delicacy) was a disappointing experience for our group. The service was very unprofessional and disorganized. Orders were mixed with other tables, and the food arrived without any timing or coordination. We waited a long time for one of our dishes, and when we were already tired of waiting and decided to pay the bill, they suddenly brought out food at that moment. Even then, one of the dishes we ordered never arrived. We ended up paying and leaving without properly finishing the meal. Even something as simple as drinking water had to be requested at the counter near the end of our visit. Overall, the service felt chaotic and poorly managed. My suggestion would be to visit only with a small group of three or four people. Based on our experience, the restaurant does not seem able to handle larger groups.
I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I was already driving toward the restaurant to pick up my bread, but they called and asked for my credit card number in advance for payment. This shows a clear lack of trust in customers. I was on my way and ready to pay in person upon arrival, like most normal businesses allow. Asking for card details over the phone feels unprofessional and uncomfortable. Respect your customers. Trust goes both ways. Because of this behavior, I decided not to continue and go elsewhere.
