UPDATE: Customer service contact me and very quickly offered me a new meal. They were very professional and helpful. I appreciate the effort they put in to ensure their customers are satisfied. Absolutely drenched my burger in mustard. I usually have a great experience with the habit chains but this was ridiculous. I spent 10 minutes and over 12 napkins cleaning this up to were it was edible. Will change my review once customer service gets back to me about the incident.

The food is absolutely awesome. It's worth going there and it's worth the money. Make sure you have them grill your onions for your hamburger that makes it just that much more intense.

The burgers are delicious and flavorful! Customer service is good. The restaurant is always welcoming and someone is always cleaning. Plenty of parking but it does get packed.

Great place for soup and sandwiches. Lots of different options and combos. Prices aren't bad either. Lots of seating both outside and inside. I also really like their breakfast pastries. Their muffins are awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great place for a quick bite.

Roulette like all Habit locations. I usually get the Santa Barbara char for the value and ingredients, and 1 in 5 times it's overly salty. Other times it's good but clearly this stuff is bad for you.

Its a nice place with outdoor sittings. High ceiling and enough space for small groups. You can order through the two kiosks or at the counter. I orders a burger meal with drink and fries and it came out to be about $20. Slightly on the expensive side for fast food. However, there are a wide selection of amenities like A1, Tabasco, and other sauces. Additional, there are a few selections for pickled jalapeños. The place was decently crowded but not full when I was there. However, the food came out a bit slow in my opinion. Waiting for about 10 minutes for food to come out. Maybe because of freshly made food.

Great chicken salads! I had the grilled chicken salad with Italian dressing. The chicken was moist and flavoursome and the salad a good mix of leaves and vegetables. It’s a manageable size also for lunch. There seems to be very limited sugar free/low sugar drinks which is why it did not get 5* as this should be improved.

Had the #1 classic single patty burger with standard fries, which was a generous portion, and standard refillable drink. Love it. Beef patty decent size in big bun without cheese, extra tomatoes. This time the beef patty is pretty small compared to the bun. Perhaps inflation and patty size is reduced while keeping prices competitive, and fries portion were huge relative to the burger. Sweet potatoes fries were slightly under done. Interesting note: This combo only cost less by 8 cents. So might as well order al carte. Date of visit : Saturday March 25, 2023

Good burger with reasonable price. Servers are friendly and the place is clean. The charburger combo comes with a regular size drink and fries for $7.55 and double charburger combo is $8.55. Pleasant indoor decoration and there are about 10 4-person seats and one large 10 person table. Boosters are available for kids. I took one star off because the wait time get gets very long during busy hours.

We visited because I had a reward visa card that was in contact with panera bread. The machine didn’t accept my card. Tried a few times, no luck! The gentleman at the cashier didn’t know about the card and the issue. I paid with another card. Later I called and spoke with “store manager” that knew nothing about the card and possible issue. She referred me to the customer support. Later I called the card services and appeared that the problem was with the machine at the store! And store manager was just holding the title and knew nothing about issues at her store. The Bacon Turkey Bravo is no more!!! This "Bravo" sandwich is not even close to the BTB and the pickle kind of wrapped it in a neat bow of pain. Only 1 working kiosk to order and no person to take orders while I was there. It's a sad day today

Counter service chain restaurant serving soups & sandwiches. Parking near the restaurant is usually tricky. Service is friendly and the food is good. The tables at this location are sticky.

Sadly, I think this location is becoming diminished in its service to customers. Twice in 2 weeks a simple egg/sausage/cheese sandwich order to go was missing the sausage and when I unwrapped my order it was egg on Ciabatta, no cheese, no sausage. Not going back to this one.

Habit Burger is a typical chain burger place to me so it’s hard to give it too many stars. However, I must admit the Santa Barbara burger is very good. Perhaps because I love burgers on sliced sourdough bread. Plus two patties and two cheeses and avocado. Mmmm good! But the standard Habit burger was just average. As its flagship burger I expected more, I guess. And the fries were also quite average. In fact, barely average compared to other burger joints that add their own personality, for instance McD’s thinness and crunch, In n Out’s freshness, and Five Guys’ overdone and over abundance. Standard soda contain but they did have three types of peppers condiments which was a nice touch. Restaurant was nice and bright which exuded a nice atmosphere. And it was clean which makes me feel more comfortable. Not enjoyable to see homeless sleeping on the bench right outside the window though.

Just received the grossest chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever seen in my life from this place. It wasn’t even chicken salad - it was stringy slices of chicken slightly torn up with two pieces of grape and a few slices of almond and thrown on bread. Nothing like described on the menu… just greasy, tasteless. Went in the trash. Do not recommend. Yuk.

I'm used to creamy chicken and wild rice looking creamy! As pictured with the spoon in it, but the one with the receipt is what I received. They sometimes make a mistake and give me chicken noodle and when I complained they pointed out that it is chicken and wild rice. Either they changed the recipe or don't care about quality control there. Plus for $7.79 you think it would be full, minus the bit of space to close without spilling. Everyone was nice, but I still won't be going back for awhile.

This is the smallest portion I have ever received when choosing you pick two. When I asked the employees they said it's like that because I chose the pick two. I paid $15.62 for this and clearly it's not worth it judging by the portion size. You get bigger portions at other paneras in San Jose.

I came to this establishment today around 7pm, and was rudely greeted by a sassy blonde young lady, she seemed a bit messy, disoriented, and unpleasant, she payed more attention to her phone then to the customer. I also came a few weeks and was surprised not to see her still on a chair today at the cashier. I also ordered a steak and white cheeder and received nothing but rubbish as my meal. Beyond the fact they charge $7 for a small side serving of Mac n cheese and up charged me for a stale multiday old multigran roll that should have come with a kids meal to top if off I see this right before my kid takes a bit of it. I already know this place is over priced for what it is but you gotta step up the service/care/food quality if you charge this kinda money. Probably felt they could dump this off on me because it was a to go order. Feel free to make this right Panera Bread, but I'm too busy to swing back in with two kids to complain to a manager about the kitchens lack of effort and care.

Came in around 7pm. Hot water is luke warm, urns filled with stale coffee, and many uncleared tables with used plates, napkins, and leftover food. Clearly a management problem.

The tables are always dirty. No one ever bothers wiping them. The self order kiosks malfunction too often: reboothing or getting stuck in the middle of the order. The employees in the counters are not really better than the kiosk, they have no idea what ingredients you can customize for the different items. Also, Whats the point of calling it a "warm bowl" if they serve it cold?

Tonight (11/23/2025 ~8:01 PM, Order #432) I ordered a Double Char Cheeseburger with American—the burger arrived with no cheese. When I brought it up, the cashier pointed to the receipt and said, “the cheese shows up if you ordered it—see how ‘WHT American’ shows for the Charburger? The Double Char Cheeseburger doesn’t specify American, so the cheeseburger doesn’t come with cheese.” This is exactly what she told me the first time, which is why I made sure to press the cheese option this time. The receipt shows “Charburger with Cheese – WHT American,” but the Double Char Cheeseburger line doesn’t print the cheese choice—even though I selected it. It feels like a POS/receipt mapping issue, but the result is I keep getting a “cheeseburger” with no cheese and staff refusing to remake it. This is the 2nd time this lady successfully gaslit me into thinking I was wrong. This is the 2nd time I paid for something that I never received. This is the last time I'm ordering a cheeseburger with cheese again. I just wanted to enjoy a burger, but instead I am left arguing over a piece of cheese and left disappointed

Frustrating Lack of Local Contact and Deceptive Centralized Service ​I attempted to call the Brokaw (San Jose) location to relay simple, time-sensitive instructions for a DoorDash order. The experience was extremely frustrating and inefficient. ​Deceptive Customer Service: The number for the local store routes directly to a centralized call center. The first agent I spoke to, Richard, was exceptionally rude, claimed I was rude, and flat-out lied to me by insisting he was physically at the Brokaw location. ​Lack of Transparency: When I called back, a different agent named Tia confirmed they were at a centralized location, not the store, but refused to disclose the location's actual address—a strange and unhelpful practice. This centralization prevents customers from reaching the actual staff preparing their food. ​DoorDash Ordering Issues: The inability to communicate with the store is compounded by a poorly configured DoorDash profile. The profile disables the option to add notes/special instructions, and, most strangely, it does not allow customers to add simple, standard burger customizations like cheese, even though other extras (like avocado and mushrooms) are available for purchase. ​If The Habit wants to use a call center, the agents must be professional and transparent, and they should not be misleading customers about their location. More importantly, they need to fix the DoorDash profile so that basic customization is possible and customers can provide necessary instructions.

I spent $14.86 after tax on a meal containing a basic burger (one patty, no cheese), fries and a diet Pepsi. The store was not busy. I waited 30 minutes after ordering to get my food. The burger was completely cold.
