What a great evening! I started with a fabulous rum old fashioned, made perfectly by Eloy, our personable and skilled bartender. I can highly recommend the carnitas tacos as well.
Hidden gem in Old San Juan. Located on the second floor of a lovely historical building, with arched balconies overlooking the picturesque views of this magestic part of town. The design is sophisticated, ambience is chill and pleasant Food is delicious and the cocktails are absolutely amazing. Bonus - the downstairs cafe of St. Germain is also highly recommended
Cozy, appealing spot with great house cocktails and delicious food. The grouper ceviche was excellent. The service was the shining element, though. Server and bartender were both extremely warm and friendly, helping set my trip to San Juan in the right direction with their welcoming energy, authenticity, and great suggestions.
🌟 5 Stars – A Must-Visit in Old San Juan! 🌟 N Mezzanine was an absolute gem! Tucked away with charming ambiance and a cozy, elevated vibe, this spot instantly became one of our San Juan favorites. We tried the shrimp & pineapple dish — the flavors were bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The fish tacos were equally amazing: crispy, well-seasoned, and topped with vibrant slaw and just the right touch of spice. To drink, we enjoyed an Old Fashioned made with Maker’s Mark — expertly crafted and smooth — and a refreshing house cocktail that was bright, citrusy, and ideal for the warm Puerto Rican evening. Service was attentive but relaxed, and the overall vibe was chic without being pretentious. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, creative cocktails, and a memorable experience in Old San Juan!
We enjoyed late night bites at The Mezzanine. Service was prompt and food was delicious. Lastly, we enjoyed our drinks & bites overlooking the streets of Old San Juan.
The tapas, creative cocktails, friendly service, and beautiful second floor location cannot be beat. Eloy is the GOAT of servers! I will dream about this spot until the next time I’m in Old San Juan.
We stumbled upon this sweet spot on a Thurs around 5pm. The service was top of the line. The food was delicious. We had the ceviche and patata bravas. It’s a vibe. Editing to add: we came back an additional four more times during our trip. The brunch was stellar. We had mimosas and an incredible brunch. You guys are amazing!
Ray was the most fantastic server and bartender who truly took our experience to the next level with his knowledge of the food, cocktails and history of the location. The tapas really knocked it out of the park. Perfect for a date night (reserve a balcony seat ahead of time) or a small get together of close friends on the couch. I can easily see why this place has been, and continues to be, a location for great hearts and minds to break bread together and build bonds.
We had such an amazing dinner here. The tapas were great but our server was better! Adrienne was our best server of the trip! She went above and beyond to make sure our friend's anniversary dinner was special and gave great food suggestions. We loved all the tapas except the Mac and cheese. Restaurant Seemed sketchy from the outside but we went up the stairs and loved it all.
This is a great place and location. Right down in old San Juan on the 2nd floor, they have a bunch of drink specials and great food. We visited on a Saturday night. This place was happening with a lot of traffic. We were able to sit on the balcony, and people watched for a while and had a little dinner and some cocktails while we sat here and people watched. It's a lot of fun. Definitely stop by.
What an awesome find. We had struggled to find a place open for dinner on a Monday night. We tried 3 places and finally decided to give the Mezzanine a try. We were welcomed in, even though Eloy was the only one working he still made sure we were tended to. A great job managing the whole place regardless of the staffing. Eloy had great recommendations for drinks and great conversation as well. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks even better. We actually never sit at the bar anywhere but if you come here, just do it, the experience and conversation with Eloy and the other staff that arrived later was so welcoming. A huge shout-out to Eloy and the rest of the staff for a wonderful night at The Mezzanine. Eloy shared great advice about drink and food options, and our drink and tapas selections were perfect. We had the best fish tacos ever, and the patatas bravas and shrimp skewers were excellent. The people and service were top notch and they had some insightful Puerto Rico history to share with us. Great experience for our first night in Old San Juan!
We come every time are are in PR and love it. The Coqui cocktail is fantastic. The tacos carnitas are amazing as well. They are very flavorful and just fabulous. Order them. You won’t be disappointed. The ceviche is also one of our faves and has feta which makes it different yet delicious. Sit on the mezzanine for a fun vibe.
Ray and Lorna hooked us up with great suggestions and custom cocktails. Great vibes, awesome space. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant ! The food and drinks were fantastic and the service was quick especially for our larger party of 11. Our servers Eloy and Allison were the absolute BEST. They were so friendly and truly made our entire experience enjoyable with their lively and fun personalities! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing food in an intimate family style environment !
Eloy and Lorna were magnificent! The experience was nothing short of perfect. The ambiance was relaxing. Dim lit, music not too loud, and balcony seating for two. It is freaking awesome. Very romantic. Came here for our honeymoon and this place was absolutely a highlight. In fact, we had brunch downstairs at the St. Germaine (same owners, different aesthetic and vibe- both outstanding) and now we are here for cocktails and dinner. We will be returning to Puerto Rico just for this experience. Both Eloy and Lorna were very informed and shared the rich history and significance of this particular establishment on Puerto Rico’s history. Just awesome. Don’t miss out.
My wife discovered this place and it is so awesome! Hidden on the second floor with a tiny little neighborhood entrance to the right, this little well kept secret is an absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy a classical old town San Juan lunch meal. Make sure to get one of the balconies and order the spicy pineapple sticks. The fish tacos are also super special and certainly not something you want to miss out on. The staff is very friendly. This being said, bring some time with you, so that you can enjoy the ambiance and scenery.

The Mezzanine is an amazing stop if you want some delicious tapas. We went last night for dinner and drinks. The bartender, Eloy, gave us recommendations that were spot on (get the pinchos de camarones y piña or you will regret it!!), and provided some tips on places to check out around the island. I cannot recommend this place enough, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had, and certainly the best and friendliest service.
Great cocktails and great tapas. Cute setting in 2nd floor. Open windows with seating on the balcony to watch the street below. Comfy chairs to sit and chat with friends. Fun to sit at bar and chat with bartenders - especially Emanuel. The best ever Mule made with their homemade Ginger beer. Can’t wait to back (which we did). Great for locals & tourists alike. You won’t be sorry.
Absolutely loved this adorable spot! The decor and balcony seating are charming and perfect for relaxing. The waitress was incredibly friendly and made great recommendations for my cocktail and snack. A must-visit if you're in San Juan!

We had Brunch in this cozy restaurant, located on the second floor, with open windows looking out to the streets and buildings accords the alley. While I could not recall the names of the dishes ordered. But the one with eggs, bacon and vegetables was delicious, packed with flavor and very innovative. The lobster bite-size tapas like dish was also unusual and very tasty.
Un lugar con muy buenas tapas. El sabor de la comida vale la pena una vuelta. El precio nos pareció elevado para la cantidad del platillo, pero lo vale. Las bebidas están buenas.

The saving grace to our experience was the shrimp with pineapple and the aioli and our lovely server. Now the worst - The sweet and sour meatballs straight up tasted like something out of Chef Boyardee canned ravioli or the meatballs that come in them. We took a bite and were like nope. Luckily our server gave us grace and offered for us to get a replacement, which we did again with the shrimps. No wait for a table on a Tuesday night. We sat on a high table on the balcony which so cool to people watch. Drinks were okay.
Great food and strong finish, but a rocky start. We arrived with a confirmed reservation and showed the email confirmation, which staff acknowledged. However, we were told they do not accept reservations and that this was an issue on the management or system side. After about 15 minutes, we were seated and the rest of the experience improved significantly. The food was excellent. The shrimp, meatballs, and caprese were standouts, and service once seated was attentive and friendly. The space and vibe are also lovely. That said, the reservation confusion is a real issue and should be fixed or clearly communicated. If reservations are accepted online, they should be honored or at least managed more smoothly. Overall, very good food and atmosphere, but the front-of-house process needs tightening.

Cute spot and great if you can get a balcony seat but the menu was very small (my fault for not checking beforehand) and the tapas we ordered were just okay. We got two cocktails, the ceviche and tartare. It was all just okay. We went somewhere else for the rest of dinner. Reasonably priced though and good service.
