I came into Red Wing today and was helped by Chris Johnson. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the best shoe fit for my comfort and needs. He was professional, attentive, extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable about the products. He took his time, listened carefully, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. The customer service was top-notch, and I truly appreciated the care and dedication he showed. Highly recommend asking for Chris!
When I entered the store, I was greeted by the staff. Then Vanessa came to help me and ask what kind if boot I was looking for, style, color and how comfortable. She went above and beyond checked that both boots were the same size, and I glad she did because in the box there were 2 different ones. She found the correct size and made my experience a good one. Thank you Vanessa and Red Wing.
Redwing Shoes are, in my experience the most comfortable and highest quality boot Ive had the pleasure to own. Vanessa at this location remembered me from two years ago, takes good care of me and is a delight to work with. There is a good reason I've worn Redwing exclusively for the past 6 years of my Tradesman’s career. And I will surely be back again. Thank you!
I had a fantastic experience working with Chris Johnson when purchasing my safety shoes. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely focused on making sure I got the best possible fit and protection for my job. What really stood out was how he went the extra mile to help me get the most value available to me. He clearly cares about his customers and wants to make sure they leave satisfied and well taken care of. It’s rare to find someone who combines expertise with that level of customer service. If you need safety footwear, I highly recommend asking for Chris — you won’t be disappointed!

From the moment I walked in, Chris was welcoming, knowledgeable, and had a low-pressure approach that put me at ease. He took the time to do a thorough foot scan and ensured I found the perfect fit, explaining the different leathers and sole options without making me feel rushed. He was patient while I tried on several styles, including the Classic Moc and Iron Ranger, offering great tips for the break-in process and recommending specific insoles and socks. Thanks to Chris, I walked out with a pair of boots that are not only high-quality but also incredibly comfortable right from the start. His product knowledge and genuine desire to help customers find the right gear make him an outstanding representative of the brand. I highly recommend seeking out Chris for all your footwear needs
Fantastic location! I've been to a few, however this location was exceptional customer service. They gladly took a few minutes to educate me on the pros and cons of each boot. Properly took my foot measurements and weight disturbutions with the ultimate fit experience. Highly recommend this specific location. Thank you and continually thanks to both Chris and Vanessa. Greatly appreciate both you and your continuous help to the local community.
Amazing experience!!! I received ALOT from just being in the store about 10 minutes. I was helped beyond my expectation and everyday working I’ll be so much more comfortable. I had no idea Redwing has so much technology!!!!
Mayra greeted me as soon as I stepped into the store, and she was very efficient at helping me find a new pair of work boots with the features I was looking for. It was a great experience overall, and I will definitely be back.

None of the San Jose stores had the boot in the size I needed, so I made the drive to this location. Paul and the other staff were friendly and helpful. Paul informed me about the union discount, which I didn’t even think to ask about. Overall, a great experience at this store. Thanks again!
Sales person was very patient as I looked at almost every safety shoe on display, and after finally deciding on one, they didnt have my size because not only did I need a size 14 but I also needed it to be extra wide, but staff searched other branches of their store and 3 stores did have the size I needed and requested that the shoes be delivered to the store which I visited to be picked up at a later date, approximately 2 weeks waiting time. The shoes are a bit pricey but I was there with a $275 shoe voucher from my employer.

The Redwing store at the San Leandro store gave me the ultimate customer service experience. I had a relatively new boot but water was coming In from the bottom. They replaced my boots and left me walking out with a smile 😃

So I read the reviews and was a tad bit apprehensive about purchasing from this location but as soon as I walked in, my nerves disappeared. The service was fantastic, quick, detailed and Vanessa was a delight to shop with. She was knowledgeable, sweet and very well educated on the artifacts in the store. Though I don’t plan on purchasing another pair of safety shoes for a while, if I were to I’d definitely come back to shop here. The entire staff was welcoming from the beginning to the end of my experience. This is what quality customer service is about!!!

The store clerk ( Chris Johnson) greeted us and told us that he was alone, but he would be with us as soon as possible. This man was a miracle worker. Not only was he working ALONE, which is highly unsafe in these days and times, he had the most rudest people to wait on. They were inpatient and demanding. I will say this he took it all in stride and gave great customer service/care. I am a nurse and I was buying insoles for myself and my son. When it was our turn to be waited on Christopher waited on us with patience and answered our questions, even when the other customers were interrupting while he helped us. Long story short I came back into this location on Thursday 8/7, again Christopher was present. Thankfully the store was much quieter and I was able to say what should have been said a year ago: Christopher Johnson thank you for being knowledgeable, patient, and OUTSTANDING, at your job. Being in customer service is not a cake walk, and for this gentleman to not break and do the best he could shows his dedication to his job.

I like the service the lady who helped me out was really nice. The whole digital show measuring gimmick does not work. It's more to up sell the show insoles. Personally I feel the quality of the boots has dropped but it what the company i work for offers.
A month ago I bought some boots which tore inside, I paid 300 and a little more for some insoles that also came off, and my warranty was not valid. bad service, bad investment, I definitely wouldn't buy again 😔 📌 I recommend MERRELL for 150 dls less. 🙂
Went here at 2pm and they were out to lunch and didn't even have a correct time they were going to be back. Didn't know stores with posted hours could close for lunch. Once I went back an hour and a half later there was only one lady working. Took 25 mins just to get boots to try on. How are they going to only have one person working and the close for lunch?
Im dropping a review because I just bought new work boots at the Fremont location and the customer service is night and day. If you want a helpful staff and more info on the boots and info of free maintenance that red wings provides for the boots then go to Fremont. I was never told that Red Wing provides free laces, free oil polish touches, free restitching, free heel replacements. Fremont location is the way to go. I bought my last 2 work boots at the san leandro location because its closer to my home and was never told about any of this. Im taking the extra time and go to the Fremont location from now on
Upon entering the store, I was greeted with a rather boring & unenthusiastic hello. I usually go to the location in Fremont CA & it is by far better than this location. Nonetheless, I waited patiently to be helped. When I was finally assisted the employee whose name is Vanessa didn’t seem like she wanted to help me. It gave off “hurry up and buy” vibes. The staff here seems to not actually advise you & just want you to hurry up and leave. Very unfriendly & give you short answers when you have a question. Also, when I mentioned if I could get any accessories with my employee voucher, she (Vanessa) quickly jumped to assume no accessories were covered and upon checking she mentioned they actually were. Why assume when you do not know for certain? Like I said very unhelpful staff here. I would avoid it next time and just go the distance to the Fremont location. I made my purchase but was left very unsatisfied with the level of service here.

Upon entering, I was met with unfriendly expressions from the staff, and once I mentioned that I had a question about my boots’ warranty, their responses became short and dismissive. When I inquired about a possible replacement, I was made to feel like my request was unreasonable. I also asked about cleaning services for my boots, only to be told they do not offer that and instead sell products. The lack of effort to provide guidance or assistance was extremely disappointing. The employee I dealt with displayed poor customer service skills, speaking in a way that made it clear he had no interest in helping. While I understand I came in right at opening time (10 a.m.), that should not excuse dismissive or disrespectful treatment. This experience was drastically different from a prior visit, where I received excellent, attentive service from other employees. Because of this contrast, I left feeling extremely dissatisfied and hesitant to return.

My family and I had a very bad experience with the costumer service today. The guy who was at the store didn't really want to help us. He talked to us with a very bad attitude. We had to leave because of the way he treated us. I don't recommend this store anymore!!
