Linnaea's Cafe

Very nice coffee shop with good food options and cafe style drinks. There is seating with a street view, seating in the back which is quieter and would be good for working(not shown), then seating outside in the garden area (see photos). The staff is ridiculously helpful. First went to scout to get coffee then found myself here to get food. Which i had just gone here.

Apparently this is where all the cool kids hang out! This cafe was filled with students studying, and I totally get why- this cafe is tasty and has a great atmosphere. Coffee was delicious (banana bread mocha) and gluten free muffin was also yummy

I love this cafe! They have a really neat back area with plants and sofas, when the sun is out this is probably the perfect spot to go. I also highly recommend the iced matcha with lavender sweetener :)

Stopped at this local coffee shop there other day. Was actually pretty packed even though Scout odd just a few feet away. They have nice seating both indoors and out. Apparently they do music in the back sometimes. Ordered a vegan pumpkin muffin, it was amazing. I keep thinking about how good it was. Icing on top with a little bit of cinnamon and it was filled with a generous amount of chocolate chips. Ordered a cold brew and a hot latte with almond milk. Both were of good quality. I did enjoy the flavor of their espresso. My one gripe was that it just took a long time to make the drinks, but again, they were pretty busy and there isn’t that much space behind the counter to make the drinks. Definitely a great SLO haunt that I would visit again.

If you’re on a first date with a potential new situationship and you proudly pull out your Linnaea’s Café drink punch card, but they don’t immediately whip out their own (preferably a more battle-worn, coffee) stained version of the punch card—just do yourself a solid and end the date right there. Linnaea’s is hands-down the best spot in SLO to journal while romanticizing your life. The place is full of little secrets—don’t believe me? Ask the koi fish. They know everything. Oh, and the jazz nights? Absolutely killer. Go romanticize your life at this sacred cafe right now what are you waiting for.

After I tossed my bad latte from another shop, I strolled over the Linnaea’s Cafe for another try at breakfast. I ordered a latte(of course) along with a coffee cake. The coffee cake was very well made and seemed like the ingredients were focused on healthy rather than sugary, which made for a great meal. Apparently, they make great eggs here but I didn’t order any since I wasn’t that hungry. I sat in front where there is a window looking over the sidewalk though there is seating in back as well. Also, the building is old and they maintained much of the architectural feel inside the shop. I wish they had more buildings like this in Walnut Creek. Next time I’ll give I’ll stop in for lunch. It’s definitely a great cafe.

Linnaeas Cáte is an absolute gem! I had the most delicious granola and matcha here—truly the best I’ve had in the U.S.! Everything is made with love, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates quality food and a special ambiance!

I love this place because its vibes and the people work here are amazing and very friendly. They do have the highest quality of coffee that they serve and every time I’m in town I have to stop by to get coffee no matter what. I would give them a billion star. Wish all the best to the owner and his employees they do make you feel like home. The space is beautiful in the back. Bottom line though is come and you won’t regret

Wow what an amazing little cozy spot in downtown slo. At first glance it’s a regular cafe but if you go to the back you are greeted with a beautiful courtyard. Staff here is understanding and knowledgeable. The breakfast burrito and waffles are very good so is the spicy chai.

I highly recommend Rusty of Linnea’s for her vegan wedding cakes. My daughter and son-in-law met with her before the wedding for a tasting, and were so impressed with her vegan options and well as the delicious flavors of each cake they tasted. It was hard, but they managed to narrow their choices down to 3 cakes. Rusty’s customer service and communication was consistently outstanding throughout the process. The day of the wedding, the cakes were packed for transport and ready for pickup at the designated time. The cakes were decorated beautifully, and in exactly the manner that my daughter had requested. The guests at the wedding all raved about the yummy flavors. We are completely impressed with Rusty and look forward to enjoying more of her baked goods in the future.

Linnaea’s probably has the best coffee in SLO. I come here very often, and the customer service is always top-notch. Every employee is beautiful in their own unique way, and it truly feels like such a welcoming environment. I will forever rave about this coffee shop and recommend it to anyone who wants quality coffee and amazing customer service!

Easily my favorite cafe around the neighborhood. Rusty runs it with a super friendly team. One of the only cafes to have housemade chai, pastries and beautifully light brunch menu. The peaceful back patio with birds, greenery and everything else you need to take a pause is perfect.

Service is always fantastic. The shop has plenty of indoor seating, window seating, a front sidewalk sitting area, and the best hidden garden area out back, complete with lots of cozy spots and a fish pond :) (Ask an employee for some fish food to feed the beautiful fish friends!) They have community games, books, a piano, and sketchbooks, and host lots of community events as well. Rusty, Alex, and the whole team at Linnaea's have done such an amazing job making this a beautiful, comfortable coffee shop in SLO serving high-quality food and drinks :)

There's a lot of coffee shop competition in SLO, but Linnea's is OG, and that's what's cool. You feel like people have been coming here for decades, the coffee and tea is still delicious, the services still very personal, and back patio is simply the best in town. It makes you feel like time stops and you can stay there forever. Which is why it has been around for so long, and still going strong. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering some other coffee houses, the baked good selection is maybe not as bougie as other places, but there is vegan options and there's a delicious little menu too. Lovely. A place you can take your best friend or your grandma to and it's all good.

i went here and there was this retired lady who was belittling a worker for putting her order in a porcelain mug instead of a regular to-go cup. What the hell do you expect lady, its the Sunday before finals week. You try making a 16oz matcha latte with oat milk and lavender syrup for the umpteenth time making $20 an hour. Anyways they forgot my order in the chaos and i had to bring it up to them. they graciously refunded me and then made the order right away free of charge! See, this is good customer service, You dont need to yell at them, I say while smirking to that mean old lady. She scowled. I was caught up in my altruistic grandeur when they gave me my order, apologizing again for the inconvenience. It was made wrong. Still good tho

The iced mocha was amazing as was the coffee cake. My friend and I sat and worked on a joint project for a couple hours out on the back porch. It was beautiful and comfortable. Even though there were quite a few other people there we had no problem hearing each other. It was a very nice atmosphere. They are also dog friendly so my little guy was able to sit outside with us which is always appreciated! I will be going back for sure.

Linnaea’s Coffee Shop was recommended to me by other local businesses when I asked for a good coffee spot. The moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The garden area in the back is peaceful and perfect for relaxing or enjoying your drink. Overall, the atmosphere is amazing, cozy, inviting, and full of character. Highly recommended!

Cool place some a few gluten free vegan options but more lacto-ovo options. The herbal tea is unusually good. The outdoor area is quaint. We enjoyed what we ordered. Thank you!

Due to how busy they are, it takes a long time to get your coffee. We ordered espresso, sadly it was flat, thin (quite blond) and boring. Didn’t finish it. The brownie and biscuit were good though.
