I had nachos and my partner had chicken tacos and they were really good. I had them to go and it took maybe 10-15 minutes to get home and the chips stayed crunchy. The ratio of chips to stuff on them was good. Good flavor. Spicy but not too hot. Fresh cilantro and lime

I have food allergies and Oscar hooked me up by knowing they use canola oil, and setting up my order without dairy and gluten. I went with the Carne Asada taco plate. Corn tortillas were warm and tasty and meat even better! Wonderful seasoning with the green and red salsa. Loved it!

First and foremost, the food is really good... The queda birria was juicy, rich, fatty, cheesy, and seasoned heavily even without the delicious side of consume. It was a hearty portion even for a giant like me and the house made pickled veg is another nice touch. The rice and beans are delicious as well, rich, soft, and probably some good fat in the refried beans. The drink selection is nice too with beer, wine, and my choice, horchata, which I filled with the fountain after it was gone (try the leftover horchata with some diet coke, so good). The place was busy, friendly, and well ran with music that matches the energetic vibe but was maybe a touch too loud for someone trying to chat (I was not). I'm often torn on how to reflect pricing in reviews. The bottom line is Taqueria El Guero is at the top most end of Taqueria prices you'll encounter in the entire area, and while the food was good, there are many places as good across the central coast. I see the prices up front, they're right there, and I can either accept or balk, so I tend not to really let it impact the score unless I feel gouged. Only on the side of rice and beans did I get close to feeling gouged due to their small portion, however with some consume poured on them I didn't mind their $6 little dish. Ill probably be back for more quesa birria, and that warrants 5 stars for making some dang good food.

Easily one of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Their burrito was so moist and cheesy, as well tasty and fresh, their rice and beans sides were also great. It is kinda expensive tho. If you find yourself in slo dt and want to try something good, def stop here. Would love to go again!

Pricey but food is delicious. Got shrimp tacos, carne asada burrito, and quesadilla. Great flavor and portion. Just pricey. Got some agua frescas too

Very fast service, and the staff is all friendly and welcoming. Tacos are delicious and are highly recommended! Portions are on the bigger side so definitely worth the money. They are a bit costly but delicious food comes at a price.

Ordered the nachos and they didn't disappoint. Chips stayed fresh till last bite. Birra tacos were delicious. Wouldn't mind trying other items on menu. Will be back again.

The food is very good. We had the torta with carnitas and two pastor tacos. Our food had great flavor. We hadn’t been here in a few months so we were surprised that the restaurant didn’t look as clean as before. The floor looked dirty. There were crumbs and food on the floor around the tables. Also we had clean our own table. The kid at the register was not friendly. A “hello welcome, how may I help you?” goes a long way. Maybe squeeze out a smile too. Just be friendly. This is a business dealing with the public and treating customers with interest, kindness, friendliness means so much. It keeps customers coming back. You have the food nailed down it’s just the customer service and cleanliness that needs improvement. I hope that on our next visit we can see improvement. I wish you the best!

Not quite to my taste. The smoky flavor was overpowering, and the meat lacked tenderness and special seasoning. The tacos were messy and kept falling apart while eating. Considering the quality, I found them a bit overpriced
