I came here expecting to get the flavor and service I've received here in the past, however, this trip was much less inviting or wowing. The salsa bar only has pico and barely any old salsa that looks like it's been sitting. Half of the drinks are flat, there are no coffee cups, only large cup lids, and half of the staff only speaks Spanish, so when I asked for lids they didn't understand me. The guy stationed at the cash register noticed me taking photos and only came over when he saw so. After our interaction, he immediately started restocking and cleaning up. This place needs to be inspected. As I was sitting there waiting for our food, one of the ladies past me and brought it to my son and his grandfather who were already seated in the outdoor area. The food looked decent, however was very bland, no flavor whatsoever. P.s. all of the emergency exits are locked.

This morning me and my boyfriend went to the drive thru to get a fajita meal. The person who handed my boyfriend our food just tossed it at him and this is how we brought our food home and the bag was leaking. I'm not sure if they had an issue because we asked for a moment and then we asked questions because we weren't sure about the order prices. I usually enjoy ordering food here because people are always nice but it was disappointing the experience we had here this morning.

Like seriously I ordered a chicken chalupa and kind of thought it was weird being served on paper in this stryofoam box, i poured salsa on it and I guess it seeped through immediately, I ate the whole thing and it tasted funny but I just got off of work and was starving, also on a really tight budget right now and couldn’t afford much else. food was good as always but staff was super rude and unfriendly, was there well over an hour before closing, asked for lettuce and tomato on a taco and they said we can do the lettuce not the tomato, i asked what do you mean? and then they said never mind we can do the tomato.

Everytime I order my breakfast tacos I order chorizo and potato with cheese. Somehow they always give me egg n chorizo or something else other than what I ask for! And I try to call and they always forward my calls.

The guy taking orders and in charge has no enthusiasm and clearly hates dealing with people. He was trying to be smart with me during my order, luckily I was raised right and am a patient adult. You would think the franchise owner would want to hire folks that will want to earn business. Consider my business lost. This happened on 3/1/26 between 6:50pm-7:00pm

They forgot my salsa but they were sure to leave me with the plastic wrap or bag for their beans instead. Complete with the expiration sticker so at least I know my food isn't spoiled! Lucky me!

Wow! Ok so it has been a couple of days pondering on all of this. So I had a business meeting in Austin to meet with some clients. I had the top off my jeep cruising down 35 when I decided to stop in at taco cabanna in San Marcos tx. I pull up see a gentlemen sitting out in the cabanna area enjoying their food. As I was on the phone I notice a what looked like manager with a grey polo kept coming out and yelling at the fella. She would go back in and the last time she came out the guy started to just leave with his food. And beleive it or not, That lady started harrasing him and barley let him leave!!! After this I decided to pull away and get some KFC. I dont think I would ever recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!!! Especially after seeing all the reveiws and first handed seeing this stuff happen. How is this that they can have this many issues but still be in business? I own a couple of companies myself and never in my life would i allow for this type of behavior!

Saw the craziest thing today. Went to grab a bite to eat and I believe the manager (she was wearing a grey shirt) started getting a bad attitude with this poor guy just trying to enjoy his meal. Looked like she upset him so much that he threw his food away. She kept going in and out of the store and harassing him. She chased him to his car and threatened to call the police for absolutely no reason. Yelling at him and demanding he leave. When he did try to leave, she blocked him in and started recording and taking pictures. When he opened his car door, she back up and he was finally able to leave. Do yall condone your employees to harass your customers? People just trying to eat. I lost my appetite for the place and I will never be visiting this location again. Especially if these are the kind of people you hire. Absolutely horrible!!!!!

Pulled up checked the door the door was open as there was an atrocious line at the drive thru. Went to park a lady ran to the door and locked it in a panic. 933pm online it says they don't close till 10. Proceed to the drive to where I wasn't greeted. Basically asked what I wanted and threw a total at me. Poor customer service! ***** update so went back to give it another shot. The cashier was very nice a lady. Ordered my food contemplated a drink. Gave in and got one because I wanted to sit on the patio. Well this older lady in the kitchen was very rude and said its locked and we are not going to open it for u in a very rude tone. The cashier kindly told me thatvit was ok to walk around the front and sit out there. So figured id add her to my reveiw then next thing u know she is running outside at me threatening to call the cops with her phone in her hand I had 2 sips of my drink chunked it in the trash Me having horrible anxiety went I went into a panic to get out of there she kept stepping in front of the driver side door front tire area. So out of panic I told her I was going to take her phone. Got out reached for it she stepped bk so I ran towards her then jumped into my car and I was able to get out of there. Very traumatizing moment for me. I will be contacting the corporate office as well.

Ordered online and pulled through the drive through, to which I was told that I need to come inside. Nobody was in the drive through at this point.i thought maybe people were stealing online orders and that they do this as a precaution. Go inside to where it took 5 minutes for someone to finally take my order. When I told them I had an online order, they handed it to me. What exactly was the point of having to go inside, when you could have easily handed it to me through the drive through?

Apparently they no longer cook the food fresh anymore I Ordered nachos and enchiladas they were cold as they were barely microwaved the meat was cold and still frozen. Very disappointed and disgusting. The chips are hard to. What happened to freshly cooked food. I will no longer come here. And find a restaurant that still cooks food fresh. It’s a shame I always went here since 1988 when the flavor was excellent it’s got worse over the years

Absolutely terrible experience. I placed a curbside order scheduled for 12:44 PM and arrived on time. I called the store six times trying to let them know I was outside — no one ever answered. After waiting and watching eight cars go through the drive-thru and get their food, I had no choice but to go inside. I was met with attitude and told they were short staffed, which clearly didn’t apply to the drive-thru. When I finally got my order at 12:57 PM, it was completely wrong. I ordered: • 4 bean & cheese tacos with salsa • 2 soft chicken tacos with salsa • 2 cabana bowls (1 beef fajita with red salsa + salsa ranch, 1 ground beef with red + green salsa) • 3 orders of sopapillas What I received was: • 3 bean & cheese tacos • 2 soft chicken tacos • 2 cabana bowls, both incorrect — one with ground beef and the other looked like pulled pork • No salsa at all • Sopapillas were the only thing right Calling the store is a joke because no one answers the phone. This is the only Taco Cabana in San Marcos, and the service is consistently awful. If you value your time, money, or accuracy, avoid this location.

Crazy that we are paying and expecting to get what we paid for. These tacos are over $4. Yet there is hardly two pieces of meat in this taco. I literally seen the girl constantly shaking the spoon. I’m assuming that was to make sure I didn’t get any meat on the taco, just sauce/gravy. Shut this restaurant down or replace the whole franchise team. This business is robbing customers. Never again. $50+ dollar order yet only given maybe $30 worth of what I paid for. Also, seen that there are only 3 options on the salsa bar. I asked for cilantro and onion for my 4 asada tacos and was given one 1oz container.

I ordered the beef fajita taco plate and the meat was not cooked all the way. It was still red. Everytime i come here, I never get my whole order, not to mention they always forget the extras. You need to re-train your employees. Seriously hard is it to prepare a to go order? I don't think I'll be back on account of the food is not that great and the restaurant isn't like it used to be like back in the day.....and the employee's are never friendly or say thank you, they just close the drive thru window on you. What happened to customer service? Really?!

Every time I come in during my lunch break, this restaurant is completely disgusting, the staff is rude, and my order is sometimes messed up, missing something, or on more than one occasion, I've been given a crispy taco shell that before I even touch it, is already broken. This location used to be good to eat at before Covid, but I'm tired of coming in at 1 PM, and finding a disgusting restaurant with no clean tables, and no place to put my trash. It'd be one thing if they were always busy when this happens, but sometimes I've been the only customer in the store, and no cars in drive through that I could see, and just saw everyone in the back on their cellphones, and chatting instead of trying to clean this store, including people in the managers shirts. I will not be coming back again, I'll be finding somewhere else to eat when I'm on my lunch break, and I strongly advise anyone else to do the same, clearly nobody at this store wants to work.

The food is good here,but the inside of the restaurant is horrible, sitting down to eat and there are tables that are messy with crumbs of food and trash on the tables and floor and crickets,the trash can is full of trash cause you can see trash, crumbs around the trash on top, tea spilled and is attracting nats. I use to come here cause it was close for me and now I won’t be coming back, will go farther to another location. Also I just noticed where I was sitting and barely noticed the spill,like no has attempted to try to clean after been told.
