Found this quaint restaurant within Historic Little Italy of San Pedro. Greeted by Rita - a beautiful, hardworking mother of owners to this family restaurant. Vintage industrial lighting, exposed brick walls adorned with works by local artists and Rita's Italian accent sharing stories of how she learned to cook from her mother will make you fall in love with this authentic Italian restaurant. My friend Denise and I just wanted something quick for lunch and asked Rita for a recommendation. The Caesar Salad and Chicken Parmigiana Sandwiches totally hit the spot! This restaurant opened March 15th - and closed the same day due to the Coronavirus. They have been serving take out and most recently welcoming a limited number of dine in (due to restrictions). Celebrate diversity and show your support for local family owned businesses by adding this restaurant to your list of places to visit when in the area!
There are countless reasons to love La Siciliana in San Pedro, but at the heart of them all is Rita, the charming owner and lifeblood of this wonderful establishment. From the moment you walk through the door, you're treated less like a customer and more like family. Rita greets every guest with a warm, genuine smile, creating an atmosphere of homely comfort that's all too rare in today's dining scene. A masterful chef, Rita prepares her dishes with passion and a sense of authenticity that transports you straight to the heart of Sicily. Every plate bursts with flavors that are fresh, vibrant, and lovingly crafted. Each recipe showcases Rita's ability to harmoniously meld traditional Sicilian cuisine with her unique touches, creating a delightful dining experience that's as engaging as it is delicious. The signature dishes, from the perfectly al dente pasta to the heavenly cannoli, are not just meals but an experience that touches the soul. The level of consistency is astounding, further testament to Rita's skill and dedication to her craft. If you're lucky enough, La Siciliana won't be sold out of pizza for the day and you'll enjoy one of the best pizzas in town. Rita's warmth isn't confined to the kitchen, either. Her rapport with guests is second to none, striking the perfect balance between professional and personal. She remembers regulars' favorite dishes, checks in on tables to ensure everyone is satisfied, and provides a level of service that is truly beyond compare. She infuses her spirit and enthusiasm into every facet of La Siciliana, and it shines brightly in the ambiance, service, and most of all, the food. I simply cannot recommend La Siciliana enough. For anyone in San Pedro or the surrounding area, this place is a must-visit. Experience the magic of Rita's hospitality and masterful cooking for yourself, and I guarantee you'll be planning your next visit before you've even left.
Cute little Italian restaurant with delicious food. They have homemade gluten free fettuccine and gnocchi and almost all of their sauces are gluten free, as were the meatballs!
The best Italian food in Los Angeles county. The pesto is magnificent. The owner and her staff is top notch. Don't miss this gem.
One day I randomly found this place & had a personal sized pizza that just blew my taste buds away. I noticed a family eating pasta & they had the same pleasure written all over their face after a bite. I can back a few weeks later & I can confirm that the pasta is delicious, authentic, and priced just right. I had a date here last night and she ordered the Tiramisu. As she had just came back from Italy, she confirmed this was the most authentic experience she's ever tasted since then. Light & fluffy with a hint of coffee🤌🏼🤌🏼 ottimo cibo e servizio Update 12/14/21 I try to come by at least once a month now. Turns out they have a monthly menu and I'm cycling through their good food! Can't wait to see them next year ☺️
For all Albanians or tourists ( I am little bit of both) outstanding service and the food out of this world. One of the best places in Tirane to eat a decent dinner or lunch . Not to be missed
10/10 experience all around, the best Italian food I’ve ever had.
From not deciding what to eat we ended up stopping by randomly since we are not locals and the food was great. My family love every plate that we order since we had to tell each other to try each other dishes. I will definitely come back again if I'm in town.
They have hand made Gluten free pasta it is so delicious. Soft and so comforting. The food is so delicious. The service is excellent. They don’t have gluten free menu but server will explain the options
Great spot, hostess was super kind and helpful with the menu, food was delicious!
This is the best Italian food I have ever tasted!! The homemade pesto is incredible, and the gnocci is one of the best I have ever tasted! We got the arancini was SO fresh, and the service was wonderful. The pizza dough is AMAZING! One of my favorites is the Rita Pizza. Also, the desserts (especially the lemoncello / ice cream) is great! We will definitely be back!
Just ordered from Last Siciliana for the first time. Amazing. This is the best pasta I've had in 4 years. Since my favorite Italian restaurant closed during the height of the pandemic. I plan to return many times in the near future! The tiramisu and Lobster Ravioli were perfect.
Fantastic experience! I had the pesto pasta which was the best pesto I’ve ever had! My daughter ordered the spinach & cheese ravioli and liked it so much she ordered a second! The owner, Rita, visited our table and was so knowledgeable, gracious, and kind. Her son was our server and bragged how his moms pesto is “the best” and he was right. We also tried the Arancini, which were amazing. Wish I could’ve saved room for dessert!
I had the Mushroom Risotto. It was excellent! My husband has the short rib pasta, very good. My only complaint? They need to add Sweet n Low as a sweetener for their iced tea.
This was seriously THE BEST Italian food I've ever had! We're from Texas and I normally don't eat pasta or Italian food. But this food was absolutely delicious. I had the lasagna and it tasted like it was homemade and very authentic. We also had a group of 7 and the service was by far one of the best we've ever had. If you're looking for a good homemade meal or Italian food, this is the place!!
We had a wonderful experience today at La Siciliana restaurant with a group of friends after touring the Iowa Battleship. The owner, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, greeted us warmly and shared insightful information about the food and the region of Italy it originates from. Her hospitality added a special touch to our visit, and we truly appreciated it. If you ever visit, I highly recommend trying the cannolis – they're possibly the best I've ever had.
Excellent! Like eating at your Nonna’s. The quality of the food, the kindness and hospitality of the owners and the attention to detail in every dish presented was phenomenal.
Wonderful Italian restaurant run by a great Sicilian woman. Very authentic food and good service. The Arrabiata was great as was the canolo and tiramisu. Highly recommend if in the area
Yes 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and if I could give more I would. The service from the start was amazing 🤩 the food was so flavorful we ordered the lobster 🦞 ravioli and also the lasagna and they were both delicious we also started with appetizer Antipasto Tricolore is was great we will be back very soon!! This is all that was left at the table after dinner 😂
Excellent little Italian restaurant. Lady who runs it is funny and personable and was our server for the evening. I had the Italian Sausage, which was very tasty. My wife, who is celiac, loved the gluten-free gnocchi with mushrooms and alfredo (they also have fresh gluten-free fettuccine). They also have a decent but abbreviated Italian wine selection; the prices for which were very reasonable. All told we got out for ~$200 with tip for 4 people, which included 4 entrées plus 2 bottles of wine; not bad!
Incredible! 9.9 out of 10! Finally real quality Italian food made with LOVE from fresh ingredients, never frozen! It's so hard to find a really exceptional Italian place, this is it! Loved everything we had, obviously fresh never frozen cuisine. This place deserves to be experienced and is reasonably priced. Try the truffle limoncello, incredible dessert! We're going to work our way through the menu in the upcoming weeks and months. Thank you! If it was any better it would be twice the price and have a Michelin star!
No words can describe how magical the food taste here. It’s as authentic as it can be. The owners and staff are so kind and ready to please. Thank you, La Siciliana..
Some of the best Italian food we have ever had in our lives. Especially the cannoli and the lobster ravioli ! Absolutely delicious and the owners are wonderful directly from Sicily. Home cooked food with an authentic Italian taste and feel so glad this place survived the pandemic! Rita treats you like you are part of her family. Don't hesitate to come, you will be so glad you did! 😋🌟🍝🇮🇪
My wife and I spend about 3 months each year in Italy and enjoy finding great local Italian restaurants here in southern California. Rita and Mario are wonderful hosts and even better chefs. Great quality and attention to detail. Their wine selection is very nice including a wonderful Nero from Sicilia. Be sure and try their Arancini, Carpaccio di Bresaola and cannoli (Rita brings in the cannoli shells directly from Sicilia 👍). Thanks again Rita and Mario for a wonderful evening...see you soon.
✨ Unexpected Magic in San Pedro! ✨ I set out for the Italian Festival, but little did I know, the real festival was waiting for me at La Siciliana 🍝💫 After a long drive, I strolled around, passing this charming spot multiple times, captivated by the irresistible aroma. I had to check if they offered gluten-free options—and boy, did they deliver! 😍 Eduardo, the kind soul who welcomed me, shared not just their gluten-free pasta but also the heartwarming history of his Italian family. 🧑🍳💬 His mother, Rita, runs the kitchen, and when I asked about his favorite dish, he promised something off-menu—a mind-blowing pink sauce pasta with bell pepper. 🍅🌶 Rita herself prepared it, and it was hands-down the best Italian dish I’ve ever had… maybe the best dish, period! 🤯❤️ From a melt-in-your-mouth Caprese Barada salad 🧀🍅 to a specially crafted gluten-free dessert 🍨, everything was filled with love. And the hugs and warmth from this beautiful family made the night truly unforgettable. I went in expecting pasta, but I left with a new favorite spot and a heart full of joy. I can’t wait to go back! If you’re in Southern California, La Siciliana is a must for food lovers. 🍷✨ #UnexpectedMagic #LaSiciliana #BestItalianInSoCal #GlutenFreeGoodness #FoodWithLove #FamilyOwned #SanPedroEats #HiddenGems
It was amazing experience. All is so tasty. Seabass fillet cooked perfect, soft and juicy. Burrata and all meat in Antipasto Tricolore is so fresh and incredible tasty. Baciata piccante with amazing sauces, so fresh and crunchy bread. Italian espresso is like it must be (perfect 100%). Lemonchello torta have so harmony taste and softness.
A 5 star review! I happened to stop by this restaurant in Downtown San Pedro when I was in the area a couple of weeks ago, and had a glass of wine and a slice of Nutella cheesecake. Yum! I have since returned to relax with another glass of the very nice red wine🍷that was recommended and look forward to visiting more and trying some of their dishes! The owner, Rita, makes you feel right at home! I sat outside both times and enjoyed conversations with other guests, which was very nice, and testament to the inviting atmosphere. I

Fantastic!! I let the waiter know I was gluten free and they were incredibly accommodating! They let me know they have a separate area of their kitchen for gluten free food, almost all of their sauces are gf, meatballs gf, gnocchi gc, etc. I got the Gnocchi ai Funghi and it was DELICOUS! And they brought me some homemade gf bread to have with the olive oil.
I have Celiac’s and stumbled upon this spot while visiting San Pedro. The owner came to our table and explained how they safely source snd prepare all of their gluten free items. I enjoyed the most incredible homemade fettuccine noodles with alfredo sauce and shrimp. By far the best pasta I’ve had in 16 years of eating gluten free. They even provided gluten free bread for the olive oil which was delicious as well. Come hungry because you must save room for their homemade Neapolitan ice cream!! It too was out of this world.
Lovely restaurant by a lovely Italian couple. The lady was really sweet and made sure to check in with us and take care of us, even though they were really busy. The food and wine was also great! Reminded me of the food in Italy.
Ordered the shrimp and crab ravioli, a salad, tiramiso, canolli plus an expresso. Authentic Italian, so of course everything was delicious. The staff was so welcoming and courteous. Our new go to Italian spot.
Delicious authentic real Italian food and plenty of gluten free substitution options. My wife and my first time dining here and we will be back many more times!
La Siciliana was such a pleasant surprise. As a native of San Pedro, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this place in downtown. I wish I had known sooner. The food is delicious and served in a cozy atmosphere. The service was attentive and we appreciated being served by a native Sicilian. We will be back!

UPDATE; So Edwardo decided to honor our Gift Card. Thanks to reviews. If it wasn't for the hassle of the Gift Card experience, I would of given La Sicilliana 5 Stars. Food was excellent and the service was excellent. Purchased a $100 Gift Card for my Daughter's Anniversary. Having 2 young children she wasn't able to use it till tonight. We are now retired and able to babysit, so they can have a date night. They arrived and informed Owner they had a gift card. Owner requested to see it and told them it was over 6 months old and not valid anymore. Nowhere on the Gift Card does it say there's a expiration date. Ca. law states Gift Cards never expire. We paid $100. for this card and my daughter was told it was worthless. This is the same as stealing. We will never support this business and will tell all Pedro friends to avoid this place. To many good places to eat in Pedro. Buyer beware.
This cute, unassuming place is definitely worth the stop if you have time. You can find it in the Little Italy neighborhood and the warm greeting by the owners is a nice change from your typical chain restaurant. My daughter and I both sampled from their "June Specials" and she LOVED the meatballs. In fact their now in the running for her favorite restaurant back home. I tried the lobster ravioli and it was equally as tasty. I was also recommended to try the Sicilian wine and it was a perfect complement to my entrée. All in all, a great stop and we will probably eat here again if ever we find ourselves in the area.

The food was just ok. The bread didn’t seem like fresh baked or high quality. The pasta dish wasn’t great but it also wasn’t a standard item so it’s hard to judge there. We ate off of plastic plates. The lighting is harsh blue overhead lights that give the place the ambiance of a hospital cafeteria. The service was fine but the server didn’t ask us if we wanted to order wine or other drinks. Overall a disappointing experience.
Ordered lasagna bolognese and chicken parmesan. The lasagna consisted of 4 layers of pasta with little to nothing else that you would expect in a lasagna (refer to the photo). The chicken parmesan had a larger portion size but lacked flavor and sauce. The price for the amount, quality, and flavor of the food doesn't make sense...it's very overpriced . I will not order again and I wouldn't recommend it
I had one of the worst meals in my life here. I was served 2, 1 mm thick slices of dry, tough inedible grilled chicken topped with 2 tablespoons of picatta sauce, and a mountain of dry slightly undercooked (not al dented, undercooked) garlic noodles. When the server finally came back she asked if I wasn't hungry and I told her the chicken was dry and tough. Her response was chicken is hard to cook and some people like it well done. Took my plate missing 4 bites and charged me for it. I can understand a kitchen sending out poorly cooked food occasionally, but can't excuse full on bad service. No wonder they closed early and were slow on a Saturday night. Go elsewhere.

TLDR; Olive Garden is better, don’t bother with this place and go elsewhere. We walked in on a Saturday night. Several open tables and there was no one ahead of us but it still took several minutes to be seated. Water and bread service came shortly thereafter. This is where things went south. The olive oil with the bread is low quality and has a bad aftertaste. It took ~10 minutes from being seated for our order to be taken which was disappointing given how the restaurant was less than 3/4 full. We ordered a salad to start, a chicken alla Rita, and a linguini Alfredo with chicken. It took in excess of 25 minutes for the main dishes to arrive (total now >35 minutes from walking in). We never did receive the salad to start. When the food arrived, the chicken alla Rita was legitimately cold. Barely room temperature and clearly not fresh. The pesto pasta that accompanied it was very hot and quite tasty. If the chicken had been even lukewarm, it would have been a wonderful dish. The Alfredo sauce for the linguini had the consistency and taste of warm milk. There was no flavor and it was too thin to adequately stick to the noodles. This is why this place deserves a 1 star. We brought our concerns to the waitress who immediately dismissed everything. Said that sometimes timing in the kitchen gets off and that’s why the chicken is cold (well obviously there’s a timing issue..), the Alfredo sauce is flavorless and thin because they “can’t put kilos of cheese in the sauce in the kitchen because they don’t know diner’s preferences,” and then asked what salad we ordered so she could remove it from the bill (she was the one who took the order so she should know what kind of salad it was). No apology at all, no offer to remake or even reheat the chicken, and in general just gaslit us as if this was our first time ever eating Italian food. Unreal. I’m married to an Italian and travel nearly 2 weeks every month for work. I’ve tried many, many, many Italian restaurants and dishes and this place ranks as one of the worst, in both food and service. Stay away.
Service was very sweet and attentive but the food was just alright. The mozzarella tasted cheap and the pizza was a 2/10. I will not return, especially for the ridiculous price of 30 per pizza.
