I enjoyed the chefs table, watching the very creative dishes being prepared! (Photos of Chicken Schnitzel, shrimp toast, black cod - all wonderful!) The chef obviously loves what he does & it’s important to him the patrons enjoy their dining experience😉. Vibrant and comfortable atmosphere. Delicious offerings.
After an early morning start in Los Angeles and a long work drive all the way to San Francisco, we found ourselves looking for a place around 8 PM — tired, hungry, and honestly picky. Options were limited at that hour, so choosing wisely mattered. Turns out, we got lucky. VIN ended up being exactly what we needed. From the first moments, the atmosphere felt calm, confident, and intentional — the kind of place that knows what it’s doing without trying to show off. The food was outstanding across the board. Thoughtful, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Every plate felt deliberate, with flavors that made you slow down and actually pay attention. Huge respect to the chef — this is cooking with character. Service deserves special mention. Not just good, but genuinely attentive and warm. Nothing forced, nothing rushed. And a big thank you to the bartender for the non-alcoholic cocktails — complex, refreshing, and clearly made with care. That kind of detail says a lot about a place. The overall experience felt cohesive: food, service, and atmosphere all working together. If you live nearby, you’re lucky. And if you’re just passing through the city — this spot is absolutely worth a stop. We’ll remember this dinner for a long time.
VIN is hands down the best restaurant in Marin!!!!! Every single dish is outstanding. Their menu continues to change seasonally, and their recent fall/winter additions are superb, specifically the squash over chermoula and goat cheese, the sopresine pasta with clams and sausage, and the new crudo with the coconut crema 🤤 (pasta was so good I forgot to take a picture before devouring) can’t forget to mention the bread- ordered on the side with the pasta, but it’s the bread used in the focaccia with stracciatella (also a must get)!! makes sense as the dough comes from Oliver’s pizza upstairs (also hands down best pizza in Marin) 15/10. HIGHLY recommend!!!!
Delicious and inventive flavors! The shrimp toast was a delightful surprise (unlike any I’ve had and so yummy) and the oysters were perfect. We sat outside and had fantastic service. The cocktails were excellent too!
I've been here a handful of times now and each time the service, food & vibe has been excellent. It's hands down the coolest bistro in central Marin. For the third time, i sat at the bar, grabbed a cocktail, some apps and an entree and enjoyed their playlist. They recently added their oysters and shrimp toast to the "official" menu, which cannot be missed. The pork chop is perfectly cooked and packed with seasonal flavors. I recommend Vin for your next date night, or the spot to take your friends coming up from SF to visit you in Marin. You'll definitely find other excuses to come back.
Tugboat Annie called me and said she'd take me to VIN for dinner..if I help her with a pesky raccoon that's been terrorizing her block for two weeks! You betcha! I told her, but could we get it to go, and eat it here because my raccoon eradication involves quite a bit of hanky panky, and it'll be messy that's for sure, so we'll need to be here for some 3 or 4 hours. Let's just say VIN pulled out a tremendously amazing porkchop, maybe the best I've ever had, full of flavor and as tender and moist as your first girl friend! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆
Wow! Such a great experience. The service was wonderful, our waitress Ryan suggested a perfect wine for us. The dishes were all so thoughtful and delicious - we tried so many different ones and they were all outstanding! I especially enjoyed the blistered snap peas, the focaccia, the crudo and the sweet potato (can’t forget about the butter cake dessert!). Do yourself a favor and get yourself here - ideally with a group so you can try the whole menu
Incredibly kind staff, AMAZING cocktails and the layout of the space allows you to watch the chefs crush it in their craft. My new favorite spot!

Tasty food with lots of options. The sauce here from each dishes can be really surprising.
Was in town visiting family and decided to give Vin a shot and we could not be happier. We opted for the tasting menu and every single one of the items was delicious. Our servers were excellent as well and all of the cocktails that we tried were exceptional. We will definitely be coming back!
We recently hosted a corporate event for Birkenstock here, and everything was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious—I received multiple raves from our team about how good everything was. The service was excellent; the servers were attentive and made sure everyone’s drinks were always full. Planning the event was so easy thanks to Jon and Carroll. They catered to all our needs and communicated with us every step of the way. Whether you’re planning a corporate event or just looking for a great place to have dinner, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!
I LOVE VIN! We went for a big group dinner last night (party of 25, which is typically pretty hard to do well and maintain quality). They did extremely well - from the quality of food and drinks, to the presentation of it all, and the service. Some really unique and delicious dishes - the shrimp toast was my favorite and unlike anything I've had before. Also loved the oysters, celery salad & and rock cod. Seriously top notch food. Also enjoyed the atmosphere with the exposed brick and nice light fixtures. Big fan and definitely plan to come back again soon!
Really quality food! Each dish is made with so much care and detail. Fresh local seasonal food. The food was so yummy, creative and satisfying. Definitely worth the visit. I wanted to eat every single dish!
We had an amazing meal! Can’t go wrong with any item on the menu! Highly recommend Schnitzel, Sorpresine, Lamb Wanton, Oyster and Shrimp Toast. This is my new favorite restaurant in Marin.
Stumbled into this restaurant but didn't want to leave. The food was absolutely amazing. We sat at the counter in front of the chefs. It was like watching a master class in fine cuisine. Even the cocktails were amazing. The service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!!!
Tried out Vin recently and I'm already planning my next visit. This place is such a refreshing addition to the Marin food scene. The standout for me was the pork chop. Perfectly seared, juicy, and full of flavor. It came with this subtle, savory glaze that tied everything together beautifully. And don’t even get me started on the focaccia. Soft, warm, with a light crisp on the outside and just the right touch of olive oil and salt. It’s simple but absolutely addictive. I would come back just for that bread. The space itself feels modern and inviting without trying too hard. Great cocktail program too, very well curated. Vin feels like one of those places that’s going to quietly become everyone’s favorite. Highly recommend checking it out.
This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! Vin is one of those places where you can order literally any item on the menu and you know it will be amazing. How did they manage to make a side of grilled peas one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life? Why am I telling friends the next day about a single piece of pickled cauliflower I ate? Would I ever order a schnitzel? No. Did I try a bite a my husband’s and order one for myself in addition to the entree I was already eating? Yes. Great wine and cocktail selection, amazing service, lovely ambience. I am already planning my next trip back!

I haven’t had a meal this good that didn’t come with a Michelin star in ages. Every dish was unique, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. I am truly still dreaming of the Celery and Date Salad (do not miss it!!) and that was only an appetizer. The cocktails were fun and yummy. And vibes were immaculate - we sat at a table but I’d totally go back to hang at the bar. Vin nailed it from start to finish. My only regret is that I didn’t save room for desert. Can’t wait to go back!
The ambience at VIN is warm and inviting, with a modern feel that makes it perfect for an evening out. The cuisine is modern Californian with global influences, combining local ingredients and bold, unexpected flavor pairings. The menu items seem to change often which means there’s always something new to try. My current favorite is the celery and date salad which is divine - balanced, and full of flavor. The donut holes with vinegar mascarpone are a miss for me. They’re hard, oily, and overly vinegary in a way that just doesn’t feel right. The cocktails are excellent. Overall, VIN is an imaginative restaurant that’s clearly aiming high and mostly succeeds.
Solid overall. I recommend checking it out. Unlike their excellent food, the servers need just a bit of seasoning. But I’m sure that’ll come with experience and time. We’ll be back the next time we head south for a film at the Rafael.

When Vin first reopened (from previous Vin Antico), it was great. The date and celery salad was amazing. Every entree was great. Ate there tonight - 90 dollars for two (split the salad, the kabocha squash which was meh, one dessert, one glass of wine). The waitress was uninterested, the music a bit too loud, the water overfilled. Overall such a disappointment compared to how they were when they first opened - when did and service were superb. Too bad!
The food at Vin was very good; there just wasn’t much of it for the price that you pay. When the $35 gnocchi plate was served to the table, the plate was the size of a salad plate and we thought that there was a mistake in what was delivered. When it was confirmed that this was indeed the entree, we requested that it be substituted for the cod (with no objection from the server) which was more substantial (and very good). The lamb wonton was delicious but $24 for only 4 pieces. For these prices I would expect excellent service. Instead, when our appetizer plates were cleared the server placed our dirty silverware back on the table; we had to ask someone to replace it. Two entrees were brought out to our table of four at the same time followed by a 5-10 minute lag until the next entree was delivered. A similar lag in delivery occurred with our cocktail order. So overall, Vin has quite good food but is very pricey and falls short on service.
