I tried the Chicken Pesto Melt served with a side of chips (lays), it was delicious. Elmer and Brooke were fantastic servers behind the bar. I would eat here again!
I loved the food here. Great and filling, right before my flight. Thanks!!! The quesadillas were extremely delicious, and I've never had anything like it! I recommend this place to anyone waiting at John Wayne Airport for their flight.
🍹had a bloody Mary here and it was FANTASTIC. watched a little football at the bar while waiting for Sunday morning flight; a great little bar in the airport.

Tacos were excellent, green salsa was so good I could drink it. The Margaritas were tasty and the beer cold!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I had an unexpectedly great time at Hobie’s Bar & Grill in the Anaheim airport. I stopped in on my way back from NAMM 2026 and ended up watching the NFC Championship at the bar. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the food really hit the spot. Highly recommend the BLT with avocado—simple, fresh, and way better than your typical airport meal. The older gentleman bartending that evening was a total class act. Friendly, entertaining, and clearly takes pride in what he does. He made the whole experience even better. If you’re passing through the Anaheim airport, definitely give Hobie’s a try. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
Hobie Restaurant at John Wayne Airport is a surprisingly awesome spot to grab a bite before your flight! I stopped by for their tacos, and wow—they did not disappoint. The fish tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with perfectly crispy fish, tangy slaw, and a creamy sauce that tied it all together. The carne asada tacos were equally delicious, with tender, well-seasoned steak and just the right amount of toppings. For airport food, this is next-level good. The vibe is laid-back and beachy, which makes waiting for your flight way more enjoyable. If you’re passing through John Wayne Airport, do yourself a favor and grab some tacos at Hobie. You won’t regret it!
Great lunch at the Hobie Sand Bar in the SNA airport. We had beef nachos, beef tacos and they were super good. We also had the Cove cocktail which was delicious and a Sierra Nevada beer. Our server was very friendly and helpful. A great way to spend your airport wait.
Had the Dana Point Roast Beef Dip ($17) and a Strawberry Sunset Mint Lemonade (Alcoholic, $15). I think this place is great for the atmosphere and to get a mixed drink, for sure, but maybe I'd have to try again with the food. The dip was pretty tasty! Nice au jus, great melts cheese, overall very happy. A little disappointed the side of chips was, well, crisps chips and not fries chips. I will say, I was frustrated that I specifically asked for the drink virgin, but it was my fault for assuming that this was just the worst lemonade ever and not that it still had vodka in it until I was about halfway through with it, but ultimately the only one upset when I left was my wallet. I think you could get a better deal on food down at the Ducks Bar & Grill if you're looking for sit-down eats, but the atmosphere is far more relaxed here. Ultimately, up to you!
This place makes a great bloody mary and breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly soft. Service was excellent. The on your phone payment system is a little cumbersome especially after a couple bloody Mary's. Overall a good place to stop before takeoff.
Ordered soup and a salad while waiting for my flight. It did take some time to arrive though. Was a good meal though. Volume of the tvs was overwhelming at points.
Ordered the turkey melt sandwich. Was tasty and would order it again. Probably one of the better places to eat at the John Wayne airport.

Its airport food. So its not great and its very expensive. But the service and vibes are good enough.

I’ve eaten here a few times. The food’s fine, the vibe’s fine, the service is friendly—but a little floaty. If I need to eat here again, that’s fine. I had a sandwich and an iced tea, and with tip it came out to $30. Not terrible. Just… not quite worth it. The fruit wasn’t ripe either (and fruit in a California August should be stellar). Halfway through, I realized I would’ve rather walked to Carl’s Jr. and called Hobie simply a character-building detour. Moses is meh about this Hobie. And so am I. It’s fine.

Service was good. Friendly workers. Food is overpriced and below average in taste. Very bland and basic food. Probably has other places with better food at the same price.

We ordered a beer and we were given the 20 oz instead of the 14 oz. And since glasses don't have ounces on them, we thought they were the regular size. In my experience of ordering beer when there is more than one size, the server always asks which size. When we questioned our server she said she always serves the larger size unless someone asks for the smaller. That is opposite of my experience.
Been here twice in the last couple months. Both times, same experience. Food is mediocre. Nothing exceptional to write home about. Servers are friendly, but overwhelmed. If you just want a drink, this place is good. However, both times I ended up waiting 45 minutes for food. For tacos?! The meat is already cooked, that's crazy. I had literally a minute before boarding that time. For a breakfast wrap? Seriously. The breakfast wrap they actually lost the ticket in the back. Other tables that came 30 minutes after me got their food first. The guy in the back was double making orders, or making wrong orders, it was complete chaos. Stinks because they're usually convenient to my gate and the bar service is great, but the timing is so off it's just not worth it. Honestly, I'll just be walking down to one of the other restaurants at SNA from now on.
TRAVELERS BEWARE, If you’re traveling and you think you’re going to get a scratch made breakfast at the airport, don’t pass up the free breakfast at your hotel. I paid $21 for the same thing I could’ve gotten free at the hotel. Kind of sad. The staff was friendly place was clean but the red flag for me should’ve been scrambled eggs NOT eggs over, or poached, were the only thing available.

$50 for two kid size beef wraps was ridiculous. Very small, tasted very “child’s cafeteria” like. Never again. We were scanning the table for the menu and ordering via smartphone. Why tip? Go to Ruby’s.
Breakfast food is just reheated from a microwave. If you are in a rush it does come out really quick though.

Worst chicken quesadilla I have ever had. Onions were barely sautéed. I'm not sure there was even cheese. It was dry even with the pitiful salsa. Go to McDonald's down the way; as bad as fast food is, it will be better. My husband ordered a French dip, and it was awful and dry. Then, we watched the only waitress put her finger knuckle deep in her nose. We're beyond disgusted.

I've eaten here in the past and always had a good experience. Today, tables were dirty, the place my order app didn't work, likely due to a check being open, and the server was rude. In a place where people have limited time to eat...not ok. On the other hand, staff at Starbucks was great!
Food wasn’t horrible, wasn’t great either but server 2785 Patricia was useless and rude. The owners need to cut their losses now. Patricia needs a different job.

Food okay, out of Bacon. How? Service was horrible, she had 5 tables and couldn't be bothered to take my order or take payment use a QR code. Even at the airport go somewhere else.
