Dinner was delicious! The menu has a nice variety and everyone enjoyed their meal. I asked for medium spicy and I’d call it light spicy, but you can always add hot chili oil. The restaurant is brightly lit and they played a loud soccer game, so it wasn’t my favorite dinner ambience but the decor was interesting and the service was excellent. You can see into the kitchen and it was clean and organized.
Delicious, tasty, every bite tasted high quality. It's a quiet establishment and on the outside it doesn't look like much, but the space is huge on the inside. We got multiple dishes and shared the family style. If you're looking for a hearty, healthy and satisfying meal without the pretension of some of the other State St restaurants, highly recommend!
We stopped here for late afternoon tea and snacks while strolling on State street. The tea was piping hot and aromatic, exactly as I would want on a rainy day. We ordered samosas and chicken momos for snacks and both were freshly made, steaming and excellent. Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant is decorated and cozy.
Extremely reasonably priced Himalayan restaurant with lots of vegan vegetarian options. The food was excellent, fresh and full of flavour. The service was attentive and courteous. Loved the tofu chilli and it went very well with the delicious fried rice. Lastly we over indulgenced and ordered the Alu Paratha, which was cooked to perfection. The Alu filling / masala was evenly distributed in the dough and cooked crisp to perfection. The achar they served with was fantastic. Just loved the food and their portion sizes are large enough for 2 people. Lovely place if craving some delicious Himalayan and Indian food.
Excellent food and pretty quick (and friendly) service. The paneer masala was very rich, tasty and smooth, and the madrasi shrimp was exceptionally flavorful. The naan was also great—very soft and easy to pull apart.
It was the 3 rd day of the Santa Barbara Fair when we ate here at around 11am. Gladly that nobody's inside. We did our order. The Mango Lassi is sour and liquidized not the lassi I am expecting, which I always have at SF like thick and has the yoghurt texture. I would give their lassi 8/10. The platter is very affordable, and we're glad we're able to try each food. We ordered chicken Biryini mild. Spices are not too strong and overpowering which I like. We ate the biryimi and has some samosa. They have The best Garlic Naan Bread I had in my life!
A lovely spot for lunch! Sadly during COVID the all you can eat buffet is closed but the normal a la carte menu is still great. They have a thali sampler which is always nice so you can try a bit of everything, and their momos are great! The smoky tomato sauce for the momos is delicious too. Super personable and kind service. Thanks for a delicious experience!
Excellent service. Great food. The food was made quickly. We got the saag paneer and the paneer masala. Both were great. We also got the cinnamon lassi drink. It’s yogurt based and a wonderful combination of tart and sweet. Yum! I appreciated that the main dishes came with white rice. I always forget to order it!
We were craving for a good chai and Himalayan Kitchen came to our rescue. Not only did we get a good masala chai we ordered some momos, Thupka and even packed up our dinner - veg biryani and a saag paneer from here. The place is decent, clean and seats both large groups and small. The service was quick, had a good selection of veg and non veg food items and had a nice ambience. I would definitely recommend the place.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant! me and my boyfriend drive an hour out of town just to eat here, we barely got into Indian food last year and we trust this place based on mutuals giving their own experience. I’ve been a huge fan of this place, the food is always amazing and the waitress is always doing a great job at providing service. We will continue to come here for as long as we can and we’re happy we found a great restaurant to have dinner dates.
Such good and comforting food. I was expecting good but not great and wasn't too thrilled about the price since I was just wanting simple and low price. It's a quiet place, decent serve time and just really good food. Although lots of spices are used, it's not hot as in spicy. It's nice to have something out of the regular types of foods. Though just thought about it, they forgot to give my the rice pudding dessert.
One of the greatest and delicious foods test came from surrounding Himalayan background. The all foods are full of spices flavor and restaurant is very clean and excellent foods then service as well.
I went here around 4.30ish so wasn't very busy ! I got the momo, choila and the thali. All were really good ! I went to eat alone so it was nice to have the lady owner chat with me !

Being from North India i think the food was decent but not the same taste as it originally is. Naan bread was exceptionally delicious. Decently priced menu. We ordered Vegetarian momo, Maharani Dal, Malai kofta, Butter Naan and Garlic Naan. Rice was well cooked. Decent quantity too. There was a bit waiting due to limited seating. Maharani dal was a bit spicy.
Was in town on a visit and happened to end up here on State Street. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The table were laid out with social distancing norms. We loved the food especially the Himalayan Thukpa, Noodles and mixed grill platter. The biriyani had generous spices (not hot) to the level it didn't blend with the flavours and you could feel the spices. The two people handling the customers were two very efficient women and we liked the service in general. Would highly recommend if you are looking for South asian food.
Food was good… the biggest drawback is the same tandoori chicken is used to prepare all the chicken dishes in the restaurant… the goat was too good…
The ambience is fun and fits the vibe. The food is a decent price, generally around 15-20$ noodles I got were pretty flavorful. Overall a decent Himalayan spot.

The Nepali Dhindo Thali with ragi/ millet flour porridge was a great experience because of the colors of the four dishes. Very unusual. Got it with Lamb. The veggie mo-mo was a great light vegetarian choice.

I am from NYC and I love Indian and East Asian food, but I found that this restaurant did not provide the best representation of the cuisine. Lamb is one of my favorites, so I ordered the lamb vindaloo, which I have enjoyed several times at other restaurants. However, it was not what I expected. The meat did not taste like lamb, to the point that I asked the waiter if it was actually beef. Additionally, I suspect the meat was old. I really did not want to leave a negative review, but I feel it is important to be honest.

They will give you the cheapest quality paper plate, the cheapest and thinnest spoons ever one can imagine. And then they will fill the entire chicken vindaloo with potatoes. No wonder why they are falling these days.
Ambiance - fine Service - fine Price - Medium Food: Paneer Masala - good😍 $15 Pain naan - very good 😍 $3 Staff: Asis - this guy was lier when I asked is every thing is Halal he said yes. I felt it not so I asked for certificate which he couldn’t provide. Neera - very very charming lady🥰 Best for the customer service I couldn’t believe they charge for Achar. May be I am coming from different world.
