Probably my favorite place to get different types of beers. Their walk in fridge has some gems too. The food is way above your bar food so don't let it fool you. A burger isn't just a burger.
Came in here for lunch and it was a great choice! They have a great selection of local beer, and the food is fantastic. We got the lobster mac and the Lama burger. They're super dog friendly, and the patio is nicely shaded. Atmosphere was great, even at noon.
Great selection of beer! Nice flavors for everyone. Cute ambiance and super fun with the people who work there. Fun little spot on Santa Barbara. Everyone is super knowledgeable about the beer on tap so there is something for everyone. Have been here a few times when visiting Santa Barbara. Love their beers! They even have a great N/A for someone who wants to enjoy a beer with the group without the alcohol.
Lama Dog Tap Room + Bottle Shop in Santa Barbara, California, is a must-visit spot for craft beer enthusiasts. The place has a relaxed and friendly vibe. You might even spot a cute dog sitting under a table! I loved it here and wish we lived in the area to take full advantage what they have to offer. They have a cute outdoor area as well. They even have slushie drinks which I’m a huge fan of so when I saw this I was over excited. These icy concoctions are perfect for warm Santa Barbara days. Whether you’re a beer lover or prefer wine, the slushies add a fun twist to your visit. So, grab a seat, sip on a slushie or grab a beer, and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere! You can also grab food at the Nook which inside. Amazing food! My mouth is drooling thinking about how good their burgers were. I’ll write a review for them too!
So good we came twice in a 3 day stay! The burgers and fries are super nice. Service is great and the atmosphere was really cool. They have sports games on the TV’s but it’s such a chill atmosphere. Bonus - you can play board games there and check out their many beers. Be careful ordering their hottest burger, it’s actually spicy and I love hot food 😉
Always a “must hit” anytime we visit SB. Awesome beer selection, great vibes, friendly people, very dog friendly. Highly recommended!
Quite possibly the finest beer pub in all of the USA. They have an amazing selection all the time on tap, and a hard to find cold case full of cans you can consume on site for a fee, or to go for no fee. The food served is also out of this world! I really like the Turkey Burger, and the tacos.
Lama Dog is a Santa Barbara gathering place, filled with incredible people and a massive selection of great drinks. The space is dynamic, great for meeting friends, work, or just grabbing a drink. The employees are the friendly as they are knowledgable. This is by far my favorite place to grab a drink in Santa Barbara.
Solid array of beverages on tap from Societe, Fremont, Bruery, Firestone, etc. Usual suspects in the bottle area including a large amount of Humble Sea which I expect would be more hard to come by in SB area. Based on their 'on deck' list I'm their website I was hoping for a bit more big hitters on the taplist but great experience nonetheless. Bartender was super friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed my time
Food and drink are separate, but both sides' server comes to your table. Good vibe, great beer selection, and possibly the best burger I've ever had: The Lama Burger.
Great beers combined with food from Nook! And try the bacon blue cheese burger wrap…
Excellent beer and even better service. Wheelchair accessible seating and restroom.
Love their outside alleyway seating but it can get loud inside and outside. Dogs are allowed outside but sometimes you get some untrained pups. Good food just inside too!
Came for the first time last night and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Was given a few recommendations and each one hit what I was looking for on the head. If your looking for a fun spot with good food put this on the list.

Lama Dog is amazing! The tap list is deep without being pretentious. Was lucky enough to stumble across Pliny the Elder on tap - an exceptionally influential IPA that is pure craft. Also got to try Urban Roots Demon Run imperial stout - amazingly charred chocolatey goodness. Must visit spot for craft beer enthusiasts. Staff knows their stuff, vibe is clean and laid-back, easily one of the best beer spots in California! This is where you go when you’re done pretending to like milkshake IPAs 😉

Great beer selection, but pricey. Also, 4/5 green stars. Lama Dog had 18 beers on tap when I visited. I tried four of them – 4 oz. pours for $3 each. Note that this translates to $12 per pint, while a 4 oz. pour from Figueroa Mountain Brewing down the street is $2. Would be nice if it was a bit cheaper or if they had a flight deal for $10 or less. Here’s what I had: Island Hop Hefner (Hefeweizen from Carpenteria) – a decent hefe. M.Special Dozers Brown (American brown ale, Goleta) – very rich and tasty, perfect for a small pour. Boochcraft Ginger Lime Rosehips (San Diego) – great choice for a hot day, highly recommended. The Lost Abbey, Lost and Found (Dubbel with raisins, San Marcos) – also recommended. I also had truffle parmesan fries from the Nook. They were $7 but I had to admit that they were worth it, just not every day. Overall, staff members were very busy but fairly friendly. The alleyway has nice outdoor seating. Definitely worth a visit for their interesting beer selection which changes frequently. I’m also giving Lama Dog 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • Of the 18 beers on tap, 11 were from California, 3 from other states, and 4 from overseas. • Their walk-in cold room sounds like an energy-hog. Hope they get solar panels! • Of the beers I tried, I think Boochcraft stands out for social and environmental impact. What they make is actually alcoholic kombucha, and it’s made from locally-sourced, organic ingredients. They also donate 1% of proceeds to local charities related to sustainable food. • Overall, glad to have been introduced to a new sustainable brewery, Boochcraft, at Lama Dog. Find out more about the other green star thing at Green Stars Project dot org.
A very pleasant experience. Prices seemed a bit steep, but the portions are substantial! I had the halibut tostada and rock fish soft tacos -both were excellent, but the tacos are my favorite. Friendly service and had to wait to be seated -a sign of both their popularity and their (covid related) limited seating. I'd definitely come back.

Lama dog is a great place to watch a game or grab a chill drink. We came to watch the hockey finals and were happy they had it on many tvs! The atmosphere is engaging and the staff are friendly. The bar is very clean, tables were literally cleaned minutes after guests left which was very impressive when busy. Good job Lama Dog. The food IMO, was just okay but really we were there to drink and watch hockey, not expecting much but it was not bad.

Used to be my favorite place but they have horrendous service for people with disabilities . Their small cramped low bar for people with disabilities was covered with cleaning supplies, kid high chairs. And that’s not my problem yet. The problem was my guest being asked to move from the service area (which is right next to disability seating). We ended up leaving versus having a continued awkward exchange with the incompetent bar tender.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We waited over 10 minutes at the bar while other people were being helped that arrived after us. When we were finally helped, Nick, the bartender, was so loud about "educating" us how Lama Dog operates. Instead of providing welcoming customer service, he made sure everyone heard his rhetoric. Based on this experience, I would NOT recommend Lama Dog to anyone in town. There are far better options nearby with attentive and friendly service, such as Validation, Biergarten, or Rincon. I'd strongly suggest choosing one of those instead.
