Wouldn't you agree this is the best sushi place in town? This is not a fancy restaurant, but their service and food are great given the price and location. All the rolls I have tried so far were decent if not great, and other menus such as salmon or chicken teriyaki were pretty good too. Definitely returning to try some more.

Best sushi I had in years. The uni is so sweet, scallop so tender, and the fish fatty and full of flavor. Freshness is the secret recipe. I’m so impressed that Santa Barbara has such good Japanese cuisine. No less than what I had in famous restaurants in Osaka.

Best sushi I have had in Santa Barbara in a while! The salmon 6-ways was delicious. I didn't take many photos because I couldn't wait to enjoy my order. We sat at the bar - the Japanese sushi chefs were very busy, yet still very attentive. The staff was very friendly. The choices of fresh fish were varied and well selected.

First time coming to this Sushi Bar Ming and Alex had a great attitude when serving my family and I.. Sushi was phenomenal was the best sushi bar, Ive been to in all Santa Barbara County. I would definetaly recommend anyone looking for sushing to come try the Volcano Roll its not the one in my picture I ate it and forgot to take pics before eating cause I was so hungry .. I love this place and Will be back!!

Even on a busy day, we were seated quickly. The food was delicious! One of the rolls hadn't been served and we were done with all the other food. Once we notified the server he quickly got it to our table. Would definitely return if I was a local.

We are avid sushi eaters and Sun Sushi is one of our favorite sushi’s ever. We’ve tried most of the sushi’s in Santa Barbara and keep coming back here as our best.The quality of fish and service is great! Our favorite item is the salmon and tuna 6 ways that comes with a very fun mix of Nigiri.

Exceptional sushi, sit at the bar for great service. Ming is a great chef and host. The rainbow roll is amazing. Service and hosting is top notch, polite and efficient. Treat yourself to some oysters!

Amazing sushi. I found myself tearing into the food, forgetting to take pictures or document what I was eating. The rice was sticky, the fish incredibly fresh, and the portions of fish hearty. This place isn't for the faint of finance. The average roll cost for our meal was $15, so the ticket quickly ran up. As a treat, it was totally worth it.

Great food! Their California rolls are the best I've had. The miso soup is flavorful and the teriyaki beef was cooked to perfection. You can't go wrong here. It's a tight fit and you'll be eating with a lot of people, because the best places are always like that.

Sun Sushi in Santa Barbara has great friendly service and some tasty dishes. I really like the Aji, Saba,Toro, Yellow Tail, Kurodai, and seared Halibut fin. The uni shooter with quail egg was flavorful and a nice starter to a delicious lunch. Always follow the chefs advice, and you won't go wrong. I'm looking forward to next time!

The only restaurant open on Christmas Day—truly a lifesaver for travelers. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem - looks unassuming but don't be fooled as it's top class sushi served by experts. Seek it out.

Would recommend the spicy crunchy Tuna app. All of their rolls seem very tasty- we had a hard time choosing. We ended up with State Street, Red Dragon, spicy scallop (a little too much mayo, but still delicious), and salmon 6 step.

Too many great things to say!! Been going here for years. Service is instant and very attentive. The food is out quick and is extremely delicious. If you are looking for the best sushi, service, and atmosphere around, Sun Sushi is the best place to be. Huge shout out to PK and Anthony for always being incredible! Max always has Sun Sushi running at its best! The sushi chefs and support staff are at the top of their game. Thank you all for your hard work!!! See you all again soon.

I decided to give Sun Sushi another try and ordered takeout. I ordered two miso soups, with a side of rice, cucumber salad, three different rolls, and a cheesecake. The miso soup was very lacking in flavor and the tofu was too firm for my liking. The cheesecake was dry- I originally asked if they had mango, to which the employee at the door said yes, but then returned saying they did not, after I had already been charged. I opted for the green tea cheesecake, and it was interesting, but very dry and crumbly. The cucumber salad is expensive for what it is ($7 for half a cucumber cut in slices). The sushi was really good. If I were to go again, I would only order sushi and skip out on everything else. Total cost was $70.19.

Totally delicious! Visiting from AZ and the restaurant was right by our hotel, picked it out of convince but it was fantastic! A little on the more expensive side, but you pay for the quality you get. Staff was incredibly fast and friendly despite it being busy. Speaking of, get there early! The good food draws a crowd!

First time we came here it was good, the rolls were a good size and yummy. Second time we came the rolls were noticeably smaller and we left disappointed since there was barely any fish inside. We decided to give the restaurant a third try, we ordered both regular and special rolls and they were once again very small and had small amounts of fish inside. Just not worth it anymore so we won't be coming back unfortunately.

Made a reservation on Valentine’s Day weekend for 7pm. Showed up about five minutes before reservation and checked in. The host really needs to be trained better as we wait 40 minutes to be seated. Totally understand a long wait and don’t mind waiting if it is communicated. However this hostess told us when we checked in it would be about 5 minutes and told her we would wait outside as the waiting area was packed. She then sat a few parties in front of us and after seeing that and waiting 15 minutes, we decide to check in again. She asked for my name again and then said she is cleaning up a table for us now and would be like 5-10 minutes. We were sat about 25 minutes after that quote. We waited the same amount of time she quoted the walk ins. The hostess had terrible communication and would benefit from more training on how to do her job efficiently and properly. Our server was awesome and very funny. He offered great service and food was great for the price point. Thank you for turning the service around. We love you
