This was our 4th visit and as usual quality of food and service was excellent. Amit knew how we would prefer our entrees. Efficient services from the moment we stepped in. Tender angaara (red hot charcoal) chicken tikka was cooked to perfection. Garlic Naans, palak chicken and karahi chicken were just right packed with flavor. Amit, Jass and other staff members we thank you for a delightful evening. We will be back.

First time here and it was so worth it. They have both veg and non veg options with lots of to choose from. We got the paneer chole bature, lamb saag, and dahi sev puri. All of them were chefs kiss. The staff were so lovely and the ambience was great for a nice lunch or dinner outing. Highly highly recommend, we will be back!!!

My wife and I love Shahi Darbar so much! The food, ambiance and music is top tier. Amit was an amazing server and host as well as the rest of the staff. Would recommend anyone looking for authentic Indian Punjabi food to come check this place out - 10/10!

This was my first time ever trying Indian food, and wow, I had no idea what I’d been missing. The butter chicken was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted, and honestly one of the best dishes I’ve had in my life. The spices were what really did it for me, rich, bold, and insanely flavorful. I paired it with garlic naan and it was the most satisfying, unexpectedly amazing meal. I’ve always been a Mexican-food kind of foodie, but this place completely changed my outlook on trying new things and being more adventurous. Excellent food, and the inside is beautifully decorated too. Small and quaint, but it feels like a celebration of great food.

Amit was exceptional. His service was amazing just like the food. In our opinion the flavor of the butter chicken and the portion of the gajar halwa was exceptional. The service was also amazing. The servers were very nice and patient. The interior was a really nice vibe, giving off a Punjabi, cool vibe. I would definitely come back here again! And this is from two of my American kids, one carnivorous wife and vegan husband. Big thumbs up!

Shahi Darbar is hands down the best Panjabi Indian restaurant in the Bay Area, no debate. The food is consistently top-tier, full of flavor, and made with real care. Every dish hits, every single time. Huge shoutout to Arvind, who runs the place and genuinely makes sure everything is done right. You can tell he takes pride in what he’s built, from the quality of the food to the overall experience. That level of dedication shows. Honestly, nobody’s touching them right now. Best in the game, and I wouldn’t advise otherwise. If you’re looking for real Panjabi food done properly, this is the spot

I liked my food here a lot, especially the chaat. The garlic naan is ok. I got palek paneer and it's a pretty generous serving and the taste is also quite good. Will be coming back.

AMAZING FOOD! This is my new favorite Indian restaurant starting today. The food was phenomenal - we had the Puni Puri and two Saag’s and it was the best Saag I had in ages! Especially loved how spicy the “spicy” level was. My husband got the “medium” level and it was a little spicy for him but it’s the tasty spiciness. The employees were very kind and fast in bringing out our food, Amit was very kind and made sure everything was good to our taste! Thank you for the great food Shahi Darbar!!

Disclaimer: They politely requested we review online after we finished our meal and paid. Stumbled across this place, seemed like it had a good review and had a decent menu. Inside it is very well lit, and very clean, not too much decor. The menu was through a QR code online, and was well categorized and had good descriptions (but no images). We got a good spread, roti, veggie pakora, veg biriyani, palak paneer, butter chicken, and aloo gobi muttar. The food came out fast and was very hot and fresh. The fried pakora wasn't too greasy. The curry dishes were all spiced very well, some of them had a bit more of a spicy kick, but overall not too hot. The server Jass was very friendly. We paid at the table with a handheld terminal. The prices were pretty fair, and the food was great! Definitely would recommend for all your Indian food favorites.

This is my go to Indian restaurant, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is lively. I love the Samosas and the chicken tikka kabob- it was so good. The garlic naan was a great complement. Way to go Shahi Darbar !!!

Delicious food and great service! Tried the tandoori mix plate, goat curry, tandoori roti, and mango lassi—everything was fresh and flavorful. Loved that the lassi had real mango. Bonus: they serve beer too. Definitely worth a visit for authentic taste! 🍛🥭🍺

After a long time I found a really good Indian food place. Everything tasted freshly prepared. Starting from appetizers to the main course, loved everything. The flavors are well balanced, the quantity is also worth the price.

The mooli methi makki ki roti with saag was a standout! Makki ki roti was one of the best I have had, soft yet crispy, and moist. I would go here again for that specifically. Dahi kebab felt more like paneer kebab and came with some sweet chutney on top. If you don’t want it sweet, be sure to ask for only green chutney. Dahi sev puri and mango lassi was also good. Kofta curry was just okay, I wasn’t a fan.

I discovered this place through its high rating. It’s actually a beer place with food. Their ambience is great promoting Indian brewery beers. We went to try their chaat and food. Their service was amicable and friendly. We got gulaab lassi, masala soda, buttermilk, paninpuri, dhai sev panipuri, lamb kebab, chole masala, Vada paav and aloo kulcha. Their ambience drinks were good and refreshing. We loved their dhai special sev pani puri which was a flavor bomb. The Chole masala was hot and spicy. Their lil ha was fresh and amazing and the lamb kebab & panipuri was good but not the best we have seen. Overall a great experience.

Overall our experience was positive. The food was quite good, and the serving sizes were decent, especially given that it was reasonably priced. Removing one star for the following reasons: (1) we felt a bit neglected, having to call over our server several times with questions and to refill water which was a bit frustrating (2) it was a bit awkward having our server ask each of us (8) of us to scan the QR code in order to provide a review, even though several of us mentioned that we had done so in the past. We understand the importance of social media, but this felt a bit over the top. All in all I would return, for the quality of food and price point.

Very surprised by the great reviews. We ordered some chaat and chicken kebab. Chaat was good. Kebabs were however very dry, over cooked and under marinated. other things looked good might try gravy and naan next time.

Came here on Diwali and the service was terrible. We had to keep looking out for a server and calling them. Moreover, when we finished our main course, they did not even ask us if we wanted any desert. It felt like we were doing them a favor by being there. The ambience is not that great either. Did not expect this from an Indian restaurant which apparently is upper scale compared to all the other ones in the bay area. This was not my first time here but might be my last time.
