Tomatina receives high praise for its delicious Italian food, generous portions, and friendly service. The Piadine's and calzones are frequently mentioned as standouts. Some reviewers note occasional inconsistencies in food quality and slow service.

We had an amazing experience at Tomatina last night. Our waiter, Pedro, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. If I could give the customer service an even higher rating, I absolutely would! The food was excellent, as always. We left completely satisfied and looking forward to our next visit.
Definitely recommend and you will experience why they have great ratings. The vibe is friendly, courteous, fast paced and professional. Perfect for all kinds of parties. The staff is very friendly. The menu has many authentic Italian dishes and the portions also match the price so you definitely get what you pay for. But the lasting impression comes from the freshness, flavor, and quality of the food. Disclaimer: you do have a little bit of a wait for the food so be patient do you can be pleasantly surprised. Everything was very fresh and delicious on this visit and plan to go back again soon. Also great for happy hour, office get togethers and they do catering as well. Lastly you just have to try the Piadine. Amazing!!
In town for Morgan Wallen concert and our group stayed in town overnight. We visited Tomatino for lunch and we were ALL very pleased with the cocktails and the Piadine's. They were absolutely fantastic and we will be visiting the Santa Rosa location soon. Thank you for making our Santa Clara visit perfect!
Stopped by Tomatina for a casual bite and left totally satisfied. I started with the Bruschetta, and it was everything you wanted in a starter—crispy bread, fresh tomatoes, a touch of garlic, and a balsamic drizzle that tied it all together beautifully. Light, flavorful, and super refreshing. For my main, I had the Creamy Tomato Pasta, and it hit the spot. The sauce was rich and velvety, with just the right balance of tangy tomato and creamy smoothness. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the portion size was generous without going overboard. The atmosphere was warm and laid-back, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Tomatina feels like the kind of place you can keep coming back to when you're craving something comforting and reliably good. Would definitely return—especially to try their tiramisu next time!
Great Italian food, plenty of foods to choose from and great variety of styles! Also many menu items cane with gluten free option as well! Their portions were generous and you could ask for more cheese as well! We are eager to go try more of their menu too! They have this great thing that you’d use to order and pay using your phone which was interesting, no more waiting for some one to showup! Totally recommend their salads! Food: great Parking: plentiful Seating : indoor and outdoor, booth and tables as well as bar seating Menu diversity : diverse Cleanness: pretty clean Price: puts Olive Garden to shame! Portion size: generous People: very nice Noise: not noisy Lighting: average lighting
Great service and fresh tasting food. We went around the end of lunch so there was no crowd. Our waitress was really nice and our food didn’t take long to come out. We had the minestrone soup and garlic bread to start. They both tasted divine. For entrees we had the spaghetti and meatballs and the cheese ravioli. Both delicious. Would visit again!
Delish pasta. Prices were good for Cali life. The garlic bread was awesome. I recommend going early cause parking can be a while as it’s near a movie theater and other shops. But I’d go back just for those tasty pasta. Staff were nice and you can seat outside and place an order on the app and they’ll bring out your order so it’s worth it.
There is an open kitchen concept, so you can watch all the work going into the food. Place is good for "medium-sized" groups of 8-16 in the dining area with booths for smaller groups. The wood fired pizzas are nice and tasty, recommended over the pasta. Service is average, where you may need to ask for water if your glass runs dry
Went here for dinner. The minestrone was okay. The kitchen got my calzone order wrong substituting Italian sausage for pepperoni. The onions were fairly undercooked. So why 4 stars? Excellent service. My waiter was very attentive and the very kind manager when she heard about the kitchen’s error immediately took off the calzone from my bill. I would probably go back next time I’m in the area.
I was here with my friend to celebrate her birthday. We decided to come here so that after dinner we can go and watch a movie at AMC. We were seated at the booth which we asked for. Since the time was limited we decided to give our order - brussel sprouts, for appetizers, salmon fry as main entree and chocolate tiramisu for dessert. Before all that we ordered red wine. After selecting between two samples the Pinot tasted good. The service is great and I was surprised when the salmon came with fresh cheese grated on top of it. I do not like cheese and hence I had to tell the server. He was nice and took it and got me the order without cheese. Lessons learned, don't assume and call it out at the beginning itself to be safe. We enjoyed our dinner, the brussel sprouts was delicious and with dry fruits and dried cranberries it tasted awesome. The tiramisu cake was so delicious we both finished it quickly in no time. The vibe was cool and quiet inside the restaurant. It seemed like other servers were busy packing takeout food items. It was good to experience here. I will recommend this place for sure.
Food was OK even though I've had better Italian food. Some dishes were better than others. Bruschetta was fine same as pizza both were from Happy Hour menu. The spaghetti with pesto sauce was flavorless. Salmon plate was fine but salmon was tasteless so I looked for salt and pepper to add but there were none. Service was prompt and nice although at one point waiter forgot my inquiry of coffee. Overall it was a pleasant experience and would probably give them a second chance, hopefully food would taste better.
Came on a Friday for lunch. Not busy so no waiting for a table. It was empty and they said to sit wherever we want. We all ordered the pick 2 for $11.95. Menu is a QR code and you order from there but we stilled ordered with the wait staff. Food was good. Nothing spectacular. If you are catching up with friends it’s nice because you can hear them talk.
We visited Tomatina and tried their “Make Your Own Pasta” option. We went with the Veggie Alfredo and the Creamy Pesto with veggies. Both dishes were flavorful and the portion sizes were generous, which we appreciated. However, the pastas were noticeably oily and buttery — a little too heavy for our taste. Well, unlike many Italian restaurants, they don’t offer complimentary bread, which was a bit disappointing. But, overall, it was a decent experience.
12/24/2025: I'm on a medical team for a local ICU and this order was for the nursing staff as we are all working Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Ordered through EZCater (unsure how much they make or how much they "middleman" the purchase). For $306 and change (not including tip as the delivery driver was great, tipped him 20% on card and $20 in person and that card tip better go 100% to him and not to Tomatina), we received two trays of food that could fit into a brown paper bag your local grocer might offer at checkout (one tray per paper bag). Fettucine Alfredo with chicken and the other tray was chicken parmesan. The total food may have been enough for ten people, as there were about eight or nine cutlets (some much smaller than others) and maybe one piece of grilled chicken cut up into the fettucine (scarce chicken in an order of fettucine alfredo with chicken, where the pasta and sauce are much cheaper than the chicken itself). The salad that came had a small cube of feta chopped up into it and one or two kalamata olives sliced vertically into small pieces as if there were onions (instead of throwing a bunch of olives into the bowl of salad). Otherwise, it was just spinach leaves. Also checked off that we needed plates and utensils and never received those. Overpriced for mid-tier quality food and not enough of it. A fair deal would have been $150 - $180 for what we got, $220 - $250 would have been a stretch, but $300+ was egregious. Will not be ordering from or recommending Tomatina. To those reading this, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Be sure to take care of your health (and wallet).
I’m really disappointed with my recent experience at Tomatina. I ordered my food online so it would be ready when I arrived to eat in the restaurant. When I got there with my girlfriend, we were treated very poorly. We were left standing for a long time with no help, and when we were finally seated, they put us at a different table away from everyone else. After all that waiting, our food came out about 20 minutes later than it was supposed to. The customer service was terrible, and the whole experience made us feel unwelcome. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but after this visit, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Really unfortunate because I used to love this place. They also served us on togo boxes very very bad
