Hands down my favorite ramen spot in LA. It takes me at least an hour to get there from my house, but it’s totally worth it. Not only is the food good, but the staff is amazing; they always make me feel right at home. Even the chefs go out of their way to waive from the kitchen, and I can’t stress how much I appreciate the genuine kindness. To touch more on my dining experience, all I have to say is that the food is always top-notch. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything is packed with so much flavor. And even when I feel scared to venture outside of my comfort zone to try something new, I never regret it. I can’t wait to try the menu in its entirety. I highly recommend giving Ippudo a try. 😊
I'm not a vegetarian, and certainly not vegan, but came to this place with a friend who is, and the food is absolutely delicious. Don't think twice.
Wonderful service, very special and tasty food, great vibes. Warmly recommended!
Update: Ippudo has a completely vegetarian menu now and while still serving delicious broth it’s a disappointment and it’s not about meat. The depth of flavor you get from bone broth is superior and I could be happy with vegetarian ingredients if I could have the bone broth back. I’m not sure this is gonna help their business. —Anyone who rates the food here as other than 5 stars is either bitching about something else or has no idea how authentically Japanese the food is and how developed the depth of flavor is in their ramen broth. Also ordered 3 buns and the chicken Karage with the seaweed egg salad both beyond amazing. The pork was grilled and so full of flavor and I could just eat the egg salad by itself even though it’s used as a condiment. In fact, this ramen place beats every other places I have tried and I have tried a lot places trying to find this place. This is a place you should not miss.
Thank you, team! Great food, great selection of sake & beer. My girlfriend and I sat on the patio with our dog and had such a nice dinner.
Great vegan ramen and sushi. Best I've had. I'll keep coming back here whether you add meat based protein options or not.
Ippudo has great ramen, great service and a great atmosphere. I had their yuzu ramen and it was absolutely good though I prefer the thick curly yellow ramen noodles over the thin white ones they serve. I had an iced green tea and it was good. They don’t give you refills here. There’s a close by parking structure but it’s often full since it’s small. I really like the decor here. They have outside tables. Meter parking is also available.
Wow. The quality, flavours and service were simply incredible. Do yourself a favour and eat here! I wish we had something this good back home in Australia.
thank you for always accommodating us! 🌸 delicious . i always get the crispy corn, dumplings and super mario bro roll (my personal favorite )
I was kind of shocked by how good this was. I got the tonkotsu. It ... was similar?? The fried stuff here is good, the onions and mushrooms. Adding both to my broth enhanced, the flavor of the batter paired nicely. Almost as heavy as the real thing.
Ippudo is well known for their hakkata style tonkotsu rich pork broth ramen. The classic has a rich and silky texture. I recall the Japan version had a stronger and Saltier taste. The one I had had a milder level of saltiness which is usually what I prefer. Do try the shoyu ramen as well. I was quite impressed with it, although the $21 price point seems a bit higher than it should be.
Absolutely excellent plant-based food! We've been going to this location since it's opening nearly 6 years ago and they have consistently had amazing ramen and appetizers. Although, since then, the menu has changed to be vegan, the quality and taste has not faultered at all. Marvelous service, wonderful ambience, and all brought together by exceptional food!
I don’t want to leave a bad review because this is a fully vegan restaurant and the quality and taste op the food is next level! But last night we wanted a quick bite and ended up waiting over an hour for our ramen and the one waiter was flying around and seemed so stressed. She apologized when she finally came with the ramen but they were already busy when we came so she should have informed that they were extra busy and there would be a long wait before we ordered.
I’ve been to the Ippudo in NYC when I lived there and literally stumbled upon the West Hollywood outpost today. Needless to say the ramen is EXCELLENT. Atmosphere and service is simple and good, something you would expect from a ramen spot. I like spicy and had the Karaka spicy. The beautiful combination of flavors are still in my mouth. Can’t wait to go back.
Everything is good. The miso ramen is the best ramen I’ve ever tasted and the cucumber appetizer is 💯
We tried the new dragon tan tan and it was delicious! we are not vegan so we decided to add an egg and chicken. The broth was creamy, not too rich, not too light that it becomes bland, and had hints of that numbing peppercorn i love in Szechuan cooking. The chicken was also really soft and not dry or overcooked which i was grateful for. Egg was soft and jammy, and noodles were bouncy and chewy. All in all a great experience, please don’t be scared off if you are a meat eater!
Wow. Woah. Wow. 10/10 would recommend. A bit pricey, but the food, attention to detail and service really justify it. I haven’t been to Japan since 2019 and this felt as authentic as having ramen in Tokyo. For real! No complaints at all. I had the spicy miso ramen (photo attached)
10/10. Been here twice since discovering it two weeks ago. The all vegan menu is excellent. I’ve had the tontaksu and veggie ramen twice as well as the eggplant* sushi, another recommendation roll was equally delicious. The only disappointment was the cocktails. Very delicious and presentable but might as well order water/juice. Extremely low alcohol content I think due to being made with Soju* I may be wrong but not a good place to drink a lot. Grab a drink before or after dinner
They have an all new vegan menu and it's even better than before. The waitress was super nice and helpful. Food was delicious. I've gone a few times now and tried new things each time and they have all been great.
Amazing vegan ramen! The most amazing vegan kale salad and surprisingly amazing vegan mushroom sushi. I can't wait to get here when the menu will be fully plant-based and try more. In a week or so, they will change into 100% vegan. Every dish is pleasure to eat. The staff and the place is very nice.
This place blew my mind. The vegan sushi was creative, fresh, and packed with flavor — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. And the ramen? Ridiculously delicious. Rich, savory broth with perfect noodles and toppings that made every bite a dream. Whether you’re vegan or not, this spot is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back!
My daughter & I had an appointment at SKINPECCABLE and we wanted yum 😋. We found it at IPPUDO!!! 💖💖 Upon entering. we were greeted warmly and seated. She was awesome at answering our questions about the food..it was our 1 st time there. I ordered the Chicken Kaarage Rice Bowl with "special garlic sauce". My daughter ordered Tonkotsu Ramen & Edamame w/ yuzu salt🤤🤤😱😱😋😋 Absolutely Delicious...like eyes roll into the back of your head ...delicious 🤤 The yuzu salt & special garlic sauce are INCREDIBLE 🤌🏿 Of course we had to meet the Chef ...and he tried out my daughter's Japanese 😁 She spoke well enuf😅 We told him much we enjoyed our dining experience. We tipped 25% . That's how incredible everything was. Five 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 We'll definitely be back with family❤️
Came here with my friends and the food is *so* good. Hot and fresh, delicious every time! I can't say no to the Takoyaki, it's a must have for me. I haven't tried the full menu but I plan to! 😂 i only have pictures of the Takoyaki and Chicken Karaage dish from the last time I was there. The staff is always super kind ♡ Will definitely be coming back soon
DELICIOUS ramen! We came here on a Saturday night around 6:20 pm, only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. I actually want to eat it again right now as I am writing this review! - I ordered the veggie Akamaru Modern - My sister ordered the Shiromaru Classic - My other two friends ordered the (regular/meat) Akamaru Modern and Karaka Spicy We all really enjoyed the food! I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and delicious the Akamaru Modern was as it was made vegetarian! (I am a vegetarian by the way haha). My sister always gets their Akamaru Modern but she tried the Shiromaru Classic for the first time, and said that while it was okay, she prefers the Akamaru Modern. My friends loved the Akamaru Modern and Karaka Spicy. Overall, had a great time! Definitely coming back again!

Their vegan ramen options were delicious. They had good depth of flavor especially for being vegan. They had a good range of ramen options. The environment was clean and modern with a nice fast casual vibe. The staff was friendly.
Incredible flavors in a peaceful setting. We had the tonkotsu and daichi no miso and while both were fantastic, the latter blew my mind. I have had a lot of Ramen in my life, but never any that was so simultaneously savory and balanced and delicious and just downright interesting.

Really delicious ramen! However, very strict with their substitutions. Ambience is disappointing compared to the New York locations. This location is tiny and casual with top 40 music playing. Really doesn't match the pricing of the dishes.
I had the Spicy Aburi Chashu Rice and Yuzu Cheescake. The entree was seriously delicious. Truly a perfect dish. Sweet, tangy and spicy, but does not have a kick. So it’s suitable for those with a sensitive palate. The rice is sticky and the whole thing melts in your mouth. The Cheesecake. This is the only reason I knocked off a star. Honestly it was sooooo good, but we literally laughed out loud when we opened the box. I took a picture to illustrate a point. For $7 it really should have been bigger. There was more whipped cream than cheesecake and the whole thing was basically the size of my normal sized fork. No regrets! But the dessert was not delicious enough for me to order it again at that price. I will however make this a new regular in our go to places to order dinner from.
Pricy but good food. We returned to this restaurant because it caused a good impression. Let's start with the good. Service was very good. Our server was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. We got great recomendations when asked. Food: We order cucumber salar which is a winner, chicken karage also delicious crunchy and juice, and spicy shrimp roll, also good. We additionally ordered ramen. We can say that they were the best ramen we had in long time. The prices were a little high. The ambience okay. We wish the location looks less casual. The food deserve it!
Really good!!! The staff are friendly...conveniently, the happy hour for the Baos was a pleasant suprise. The broth used has a decent depth of colour! Highly recommend the spicy options for those who love spice, but plenty of options for people of all types!!!
Tried some branches in japan, so I wanted to compare if it was the same in West Hollywood. Got the akamaru modern, karaka spicy, and yuzu shoyu. There are more options on the menu here compared to the ones in japan. The one in Ginza is still better, but it's close. (ginza was more flavorful and comes with egg) We also tried the pork belly bun. It's very simple but good for happy hour.
Good location, street and in building parking. Pretty large outdoor patio for dining, also have heaters. Menu straight forward. Garlic edamame very good. Ramen overall nicely made, egg perfect. You can choose noodle cook time. Broth good but perhaps slightly under seasoned. Recommended.
I had the pleasure of dining at IPPUDO in West Hollywood, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment I walked in, the welcoming ambiance and attentive staff set the stage for a memorable meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the ramen. I opted for the classic Shiromaru Hakata Classic, and it was a revelation. The broth was rich and creamy, with a depth of flavor that lingered delightfully on the palate. The noodles were perfectly cooked, maintaining that ideal balance of firmness and chewiness. Each bite was a testament to the culinary expertise that IPPUDO is renowned for. In addition to the ramen, I sampled the pork buns, which were nothing short of spectacular. The buns were soft and pillowy, encasing tender, flavorful pork that melted in my mouth. It was the perfect appetizer to complement the main course. The service was impeccable, with staff members who were both knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and ensure that every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch. Overall, IPPUDO in West Hollywood is a must-visit for any ramen enthusiast or anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a vibrant setting. I left with a satisfied palate and a newfound appreciation for authentic Japanese cuisine. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!
It was a bit pricy for ramen with Tamago (egg added) but the ramen taste was pretty authentic that I amlost felt I was in Japan. I wish the ramen price was a bit lower and the server had some knowledge of the Ippudo ramen. Overall good experience and oishi ramen!

Ippudo showed up on my Instagram ads and as much I Hate ads, I can't ignore ramen :) their presentation got me and I also liked that they had multiple vegan options so my husband finally feels like he can choose rather than getting stuck to one and only option. Staffs were nice and their service was good. Food wise we personally felt like Brussel sprouts and BBQ corn were below expectations. Every bite of Brussel sprouts felt like chewing on oil with side of sprouts. I think it was deep dried which is rare for Brussel sprouts, additionally it doesn't soak the oil so it was literally lathered everywhere. We did not like it and didn't eat it. BBQ corn was overly sweet. Corn is naturally sweet and if they eliminate added sugar on whatever sauce they are using, this item has so much potential. I felt nauseous from having few bites. Both of these were definitely a waste of money for us but I'm glad we tried so we know. I got Akamaru ramen and it was delicious. I didn't need to modify or add anything and i finished the whole bowl. I also loved how pork were very thinly sliced. I usually never eat the thick chasu, cuz they're usually dry in the middle. I Finished the whole bowl and my 13 month old also loved the soup. However noodles seemed slightly undercooked, hence couldn't offer to the baby. My husband had Nirvana, he said it was 8/10 which is a big deal because it's so hard to find good vegan ramen. We would have certainly chosen to go back but given the mixed experience with food and the location which is far for us, we might not go back. Parking was easy for us probably because it was a slow day. I believe it might be tricky during peak hours.

Great concept, but the food is absolutely midward. Red boneless white, Jinya, and Ramenhood are ridiculously better. Love a vegan place, but do better— youre embarrassing vegan food (especially for the price)

The food wasn't fresh. It seems like recooked/reheated. Expecting freshness!
During my trip to Japan, I had an amazing experience eating Ippudo ramen in Fukuoka, so I decided to try it again at Narita Airport. Once back home, I discovered there was an Ippudo in West Hollywood and decided to visit. The price was three times higher than in Japan, and the ramen had very little meat, with the egg and seaweed requiring an additional order. I understand things are more expensive in America, but the taste was different too—it was just okay. For $21, the ramen didn't include seaweed, and there were only two very thin slices of chashu. Including the tip, it was not three times but 4 times the cost. Not only was the price much higher, but the ingredients were much less as well. I'll leave it to others to decide for themselves.
Too ex for a ramen. I mean 72 bucks for 2 persons and 10 bucks tip, grand total of 82 bucks. Yes, i added 2 eggs n chicken char shu (boiled plain chicken meat, cant be called char shu at all) Most expensive ramen i have eaten in my life and it does not even feel authentic. And believe me i have eaten tons of ramen in Japan. Many regrets coming here.

Such a great disappointment. I mean whats vegan ramen as it is? And why make it taste like regular if u want it vegan? We literally left. We r Ippudo lovers family and usually its a go to chain for us.
