Carmen's Burger Bar

This place was GREAT!!! It reminded Me of a 50's burger joint. Between the fries, shake, and burger there was no way I could eat it all. Actually You could take a date there and split the same meal and get enough. They also have a full bar there if your into alcohol. The best part was when I went to pay my bill they told me "the lady at the bar paid your tab". After we had ordered a lady walked by our table and said "Merry Christmas", little did I know she had just bought me dinner. Reminded me that there are still decent people in the world. Thank You whoever You are.

Food was delicious, staff was friendly. Service was prompt...have air conditioning...music was great. From the 60's. The restaurant was clean and the decor was wonderful with pictures of Marilyn Monroe. I would definitely go back. They have Mexican food and Burgers. I had the chili and 2 soft Tacos...very delicious!

My wife and I have been going to Carmen’s since we moved to SR in 2017. Carmen herself is self made and she has such a great team and family that work with her. Our favorite burger is the Green Chili and Jack with bacon. The chicken Caesar salad is also one of my favorites. Overall everything we’ve had at Carmen’s has been great, from the appetizers, salads, burgers, and even the Mexican food selection is all great and very consistent. Plus the prices are very reasonable, which is rare these days.

It was the perfect diner food mixed with good drinks, the best combination that’s hard to find. They made a delicious Moscow mule and the fried pickles were incredible! Very reasonable prices as well.

I had a hectic morning and was looking for a place to eat. I googled a nearby place to eat. Several places popped up. Carmen's Burger Bar caught my eye. I looked at the menu and saw something that sealed the deal. Pastrami sandwiches! Pastrami was one of my main foods when I lived in Boston. That was over 47 years ago. I found the place with ease. It is actually very close to Sutters Hospital. I entered and sat in a booth. I was greeted immediately by a young man who promptly gave me a menu. Even though I had made up my mind,I looked it over for future references. It isn't a large menu, but what they had to offer was enough. I told myself the next time I would return, I would certainly try one of their burgers and maybe a rum and coke! I was served my meal in less than fifteen minutes. As you can see in the photos, the presentation was mouthwatering. The first bite told me I had made the right decision. The serving size was more than I expected. Talk about melt in your mouth tenderness! The flavor was awesome! No over or under seasoning at all! The fries were on point and plentiful! I enjoyed the meal tremendously! The best part is that the meal with a soda costs just a little over twenty dollars! I think it's worth the fifteen minute drive from my home in Santa Rosa. AWESOME!!!

We stopped here after some bike riding and the burgers are amazing. I had the pesto fontina burger and it was delicious. Got some sweet potato fries as well which were super yummy. Will come back again for sure

This little burger bar is tucked away in the corner of a tiny strip mall, right off the main road, next to the medical center. I ordered to go since we were running late for an appointment. Sadly, because the burger was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and the fries were deliciously crunchy and very hot, I would have liked to savor them more. Worth going out of the way for.

Simple uncomplicated menu and delicious food. What else could you ask for? I wish every restaurant followed the simplicity we all valued once and just let food speak for itself.

I ordered Carmen's Burger and fries and could barely walk out afterwards because it was so much food. The burger was a perfectly cooked medium-rare and - judging by how it tasted - I'm pretty sure an angel cooked it heaven. That burger was a delightful explosion of flavors on my taste buds and the fries were also amazing. I will definitely be going back soon to try something else on the menu.

Really good food, I usually go there for their Mexican food and have their chicken fajitas today. It was really nicely prepared and well presented. Courteous employees is the icing on the cake for this place. 👍

Great local burger and sandwich restaurant. Nice service. They have full bar too. Parking at the restaurant can be a bit challenging at busy times.

I've been here 2xs.1st time great service. Waitress was very informative and tho it was busy. Kept our drinks full and kept us posted on our order. And we were seated upstairs. 2nd visit sat downstairs different waitress,No very knowledgeable about the menu, Had no opinions on any of the menu items and after our orders were brought never saw again. Had to go up and ask for the check so we could pay and leave

Stopped here on our way to camp. Had a large group and definitely were not expected. The staff was very accommodating. Food was great. Asked for a medium cook and actually got it. Most places just do well done no matter what you order. Seems to be a local favorite. Lots of locals popped in during our visit to pick up orders. I would go again if in the area.

I got a patty melt to go but I did like the quaint atmosphere there. Carmen was really nice and service was great! The fries were cooked perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because there wasn't any salt on the burger itself. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We usually come with a pretty big group and they are always accommodating. It's usually very busy as well because we go here before we see shows at the Luther Burbank center and they always do a good job.

Very friendly service! Burger choices looked great but opted for the fish tacos. Yum! From the start I noticed how good the tomatillo sauce was! Found out the owner makes it fresh. Full bar if you want that. Diner atmosphere keeps it casual for families.

For a restaurant with Burger in its name, there are much better burger restaurants in Santa Rosa. I had the Cheeseburger and ordered it medium. It was well done, dry and lacked flavor. My husband ordered a lamb burger and had the same complaints. I hear the Mexican food is good and, if I were to return, I’d order that. The full bar is nice; something you don’t find at a lot of burger joints. It is also the closest dining option near the Luther Burbank Center.

The last few times I have been the food wasn’t that good. It used to be much better. Had the bacon Cambozola burger with chicken instead of the beef patty. Chicken was very dry and over cooked. The Cambozola was blue cheese crumbles. It’s not the end of the world but there are much better options for burgers.

I gave a 3 because of the additional charges this place adds. 3.5% charge to use credit card and an additional few dollars for BOH (back of house charge, dishwashers, cooks etc) I quit going to places that charge these additional fees. I'd rather just pay a little more per item not find surprise charges on my bill and still have to tip. Food was good, service was too. But I can go across the street to Machado Burger and it's WAY better tasting and no hidden fees.

For it being a few ppl eating inside, we sat ourselves and waited for five mins before the waiter even came out the back and hand us a menu. The food was tasty though just not good service, nor quick. Was trying to order for to go before my appt which I had about forty mins to spare to get some food and go but ended up being late.

Thursday night I went in after a long day of traveling .. the bartender was super cool .. we discussed means and preferences.. and I decided to get a patty melt with no onions cooked medium with extra cheese .. due to me being tired I didn’t even check the bag I just left and returned to hospital I was disappointed needless to say .. my burger was cooked very well done and had onions the bottom slice of rye was wet and I got mine plain and dry asked for mayo on the side . Anyways just be sure to check your food before you leave. But I won’t be returning

Would not recommend. Would not go back. The wife n I pick spots to go every Friday for date night. Also to give back local. I had hi hopes for this place. Service was ok. 1 person working tables and bar. She was nice. I ordered a chili burger. Dry burger covered in chili. Looked and tasted like can. Frys were not good. They were hard. The wife got a blue cheese burger. Dry burger no seasoning. We order fried pickles and wings for appetizers. Again no seasoning on either. Wings were dry and not great. Hope this helps.

Horrible experience. Took almost 15 minutes to get soft drinks. We placed our order at 4:30pm on a Sunday with only three other customers in the restaurant; after 40 minutes our food still hadn't come out so we left & the waitress had the nerve to be rude to us for wanting to leave. The waitress cared more about making smoothies and servicing the Door Dash guy and paid no attention to the customers waiting forever for hot food to come out of a kitchen that was in no way busy. Go to the downtown location for an excellent experience. The mark West Springs Rd location charges the same price as the downtown location but the burgers are missing half the toppings and the fries are delivered frozen; the downtown location hand cuts them fresh to order and has delicious Aioli on their burgers.
