The food was sooo good! I loved that they have Korean bbq & sushi too. The kimchi stew was amazing. It was just too cold in there lol all of our knees were frozen.
Tried the Agedashi Tofu and Alaska Roll for lunch. Very fresh and tasty. They open at 11:00am although Google says otherwise. Convenient public parking structure right across the street - first hour is free.
Amazing experience with sushi that is worth leaving a review about. Today was the first day that restaurants were allowed to have indoor seating, but at a capacity of course. Our waiter Juan was a complete gentleman with loads of knowledge and made the evening unforgettable. This restaurant was so lovely that my girlfriend (who BTW is never satisfied and is never happy with any place I take her to) actually gave me the thumbs up which is a rare occurrence. Well, in closing I highly recommend this restaurant and will return again and again!!@
Haku Sushi is a popular mid priced sushi restaurant where you get fresh fish, well prepared rolls, and a wide menu that covers classic nigiri, creative specialty rolls, and hot dishes, with consistent quality and generous portions that make you feel like your money is well spent, while the service usually moves quickly and keeps things organized even during busy hours, making it a dependable spot for lunch or dinner, although the restaurant can feel crowded at peak times and the wait can stretch longer when the dining room is full.
See We been going to the restaurant since 2019 it's a great place the people are friends very attentive make sure is everything is alright. Love the beer and sake 😋🍶
Haku Sushi – Review: Haku Sushi is praised for its authentic Japanese flavors and fresh ingredients. The sushi rolls are creative and well-presented, with a good balance of traditional and modern options. Many customers highlight the quality of the fish and the skillful preparation. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it great for both casual meals and special occasions. Service is attentive and friendly. Overall, Haku Sushi is a solid choice for sushi lovers seeking fresh, tasty dishes in a comfortable setting.
Have been here many times with my friends and has always been good. I don’t really like sushi but they have other food options like bento boxes, udon, noodle and rice dishes with chicken, steak, and vegis. I usually come in here as a group with a couple of friends. So they can accommodate for groups and the atmosphere is so cool but a little maze like to get to the bathroom. Yeah tho I would recommend the tempura and bento boxes it’s so good. My friends say the sushi and alcohol is also so good too. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.
Haku Sushi is located in the heart of Santa Rosa. Being new to the area I am always on the hunt for a sushi spot, lucky I came across Haku. Parking can be a bit tricky on a busy day since street parking is always crazy but on not busy days it’s a breeze and tons of open meter parking available, they also have a parking garage right across the street if needed. Service was great, the staff that helped me was very welcoming and gave me time to over look the menu and patiently waited till I was ready. The restaurant looked busy and I noticed tons of people also picking up orders to go. I finally placed my order and also got it to go so I can enjoy at home. Waited about 15/20 min and my food was ready. I did noticed not only is it a sushi restaurant they also have some type of Korean menu as well, so I feel like they offer more than just sushi but I didn’t ask or explore to much more. Just make sure you come hungry, they do have a good selection to choose from. I ordered 3 rolls and some veggie tempura, I would say the prices are a bit higher than what I’m used to paying back home but I know inflation is real and everything in Sonoma County seems to cost more. I will say, the rolls were delish! They were worth the price, The quality and quantity were outstanding. If you find yourself looking for sushi and are in the area, I highly recommend you stop by. FYI: TOGO 20% off on cash payment. DINE IN 10% OFF on cash payment Enjoy!
Highly recommend this location - one of the better sushi spots in downtown Santa Rosa. It is a bit of a tight fit when dining in, and pickup can be a bit of a wait sometimes but overall the service and food is nice. I wish I could recall the waitress name, she was very funny and sweet. Update: just got the new twilight zone roll omg one of the best rolls I’ve had. I added steamed asparagus and jalapeños for additional crunch and spice, and not fried. I will be ordering that for now on
I found the food to be very delicious however what bothered me was the smell of cigarettes inside. It’s like the stench was coated on the walls. I’d still come back but I’d eat outside since I’m sensitive to smells.
A very pleasant experience at Haku last night. It was quite busy for a Sunday evening and that was testament to the food. We had the Tuna Salmon Tartare along with the sushi Sashimi combo. All the fish was fresh and sweet. Pretty plating as well. Loved it. We also enjoyed the Omkase banchan on the side. We wanted some vegetables and that was a perfect combination for us. A very good restaurant in Santa Rosa. Must try if you are in a mood for sushi/Japanese/Korean food
My fiancé and I went here before getting engaged last weekend on Friday. The sushi was absolutely amazing and the portions were very good. We ate everything we ordered and got the 10% discount as we paid in cash. The only unfortunate part was our server. I'm not quite sure if she just wasn't in the right head space or what the problem was. My fiancé and I are both pescaterian and don't eat dairy or poultry products or any other kind of meat. We told her this from the time we started ordering appetizers. She brought out multiple appetizers that we ordered but the mussels has mayo on them so we had her bring us some without mayo. We enjoyed everything and then we ordered sushi and again reminded her of the fact that we have dietary restrictions. She didn't pay attention for a second time and brought us sushi and I specifically asked if it had no mayo or dairy product or poultry product. She said no but when I went to eat it I looked very closely and one of the rolls had mayo on it yet again. I then asked her to return the sushi with the mayo back to the kitchen and she said she couldn't as she would have to pay for the appetizer and wasn't gonna pay for the second food item which very much confused my fiancé and myself. We both talked about it and felt it was unprofessional and I decided to ask to speak to the manager. I proceeded to ask and she said go ahead and speak to the manager and walked away. I never saw or spoke to the manager as this was our first time at the restaurant and wouldn't know who they are. She then came back and said she would cover the sushi and brought us sushi without mayo on it. I then explained in detail as to why we have dietary restrictions and she acted blown away by it. I still never spoke to a manager. We paid for our food and left as we were disgusted with the service.
I do recommend this place. Service 3.5/5 Food 5/5 Price 4/5 Place 4/5 Starting with service they seem to be very busy and not really acknowledged that we were waiting for a table it took us about 10 minutes to get c28it even though there were empty tables but they always treat us nice. Food was delicious everything we ordered was warm and tasted really good when you don't have to add salt to your food that means a lot to me. For all that we payed almost $80
Okay sushi, I am a fan of classic Japanese cuisine and felt that this sushi bar gets creative in their rolls. Some of the flavor combos just didn’t work for me, but I appreciate the effort. Amazing names on all the rolls I was laughing so hard in the best ways “great ball of fire.” There is a menu specific to their roll creations where they list what is inside, outside and on top of the roll. I got too overwhelmed looking at the double page of options, where many of the ingredients are listed in each roll. Variations are mostly with what comes inside, outside and on top. Which is redundant. Service is friendly, they kept the hot green tea coming. Their aged tofu was alright, the fried skin was too soggy even though I ate it right away. Same with their hand rolls. I ate my spicy tuna hand roll as soon as it came out and the seaweed was already soggy. For the walkable distance to my air bnb and for the large hot sake for $7, I’ll bump this review up from 3 stars to 4.
This place had the best sushi in Santa Rosa! The only problem here is the portion sizes are tiny. You have to order 15 dishes for about 9-10 people. It’s ridiculous with how much they’re charging.
Sushi was bland. Yakisoba chicken was greasy and lacked vegetables. The best thing was the miso soup. Clean restaurant. Very nice waitresses. The food just lacks soul. I've been to Japan over 20 times and this taste like a 7th grader made it.
I ordered a certain dish that has to be specified if it is to be crispy or regular rice over the phone. When I took the food home, I found that they had given me the version of the meal without crispy rice as I had asked for. When I called to Ask them about picking up the correct order, they said that they didn’t hear me specify they wanted the dish this way and refused to speak with me any further unless I wanted to pay the full amount for the dish over again. They were also pretty rude about it and proceeded to hang up on me when I asked if there was nothing they could do to help discount, compensate or prepare the correct order. Not to mention, the food is subpar at best
They served me sashimi with a long hair in it — then, unbelievably, a small black eyelash placed right where the black sesame seeds are on the rice. That doesn’t seem accidental. The owner kept staring at our table like we weren’t welcome. Honestly, I’ve never had a good experience here despite trying multiple times. This place needs a health department inspection — seriously.
Ordered from them and got a metal shaving in my salad. Contacted to make them aware and was told to text this photo. Then they never got back to me. Tried to reach back out and got no response. Can’t trust them after getting this in my food. Good tastes good sure… in fact it was my safe food when I needed a pick me up. Can’t ever go back. Feel totally disgusted and disrespected by the lack of any kind of apology or even acknowledgement. Just totally brushed off.
My girlfriend and I just ate here for the second time. I had a pleasant experience the first time and was excited to return. That unfortunately was where the excitement ended. We were served, of other rolls, the "Funny feeling down there". The other rolls ranged from good to delicious, but the fried soft shell crab was off by a long shot in this roll. It smelled like it sat sunbathing for a few days before packing it in and jumping head first into the fryer. The taste was exactly how you'd imagine after that. I am not super picky with seafood, but sushi, I expect to have clean flavors and taste fresh. We each had one piece, and after discovering the very off smell and taste, we brought it up to our server. She went to speak to the manager and came back a good 10-15 minutes later, saying, "we have a policy not to take it back once it's brought out. Maybe squeeze some lemon on it? " . What an odd thing to suggest when there's a possibility of bad seafood. We asked again for consideration regarding this and waited another 15 minutes to a bill being brought, including the bad roll. Again, we requested consideration. Another 10 minutes went by with no answers from a manager that wasn't on site, so I subtracted the bad roll and paid the correct amount for what we received that was edible. It saddens me when I have to resort to actions like this, but I will not be taken advantage of and won't wait an hour for a resolution. We were very patient and cool headed when discussing with the servers but didn't have all night. The servers were nice but seemed to have no real ability or desire to provide a resolution. If Management wants to contact me regarding the bill total, she is welcome to message me here. I'd avoid this place until they understand customer service and appropriate action regarding bad food items. As any other reasonable restaurant would have done, a simple " I'm sorry about that, I'll take that off and let the chef know. Is there something else I can get you?" would have sufficed.
